Objective: Camel mastitis is indeed a serious problem that can have significant impacts on animal health and production as well as pose a potential public health hazard. This work aimed to identify the bacterial species responsible for camel mastitis and evaluate the associated immunological and clinicopathological alterations in infected camels. Materials and Methods: Raw milk and blood samples were collected from 40 apparently healthy she-camels, and 40 she-camels suffered from clinical mastitis (CMG). Milk samples were sub¬jected to bacteriological examination. Serum immunological, biochemical, and hematological parameters were estimated and statistically analyzed. Results: Similar bacterial species were obtained from the two groups with different isolation rates. Staphylococcus epidermidis and Escherichia coli were the dominant species in the apparently healthy group, while Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Bacillus cereus were the dominant species in CMG. A significant (p < 0.05) elevation of the pro-inflammatory cytokines, acute phase proteins (APPs), free radicals, total protein, Glob, kidney and liver function tests, and triglyceride concentrations were detected in CMG, and a significant (p < 0.05) decrease in the anti-inflammatory cytokine, antiox¬idants, Alb, glucose, and T/LDL/HDL-cholesterol concentrations was observed in CMG. Microcytic hypochromic anemia with hypoferremia, hypotransferrinemia, hyperferritinemia, and neutrophilic leukocytosis was depicted in CMG. The estimated pro-inflammatory cytokines, APPs, and total anti¬oxidant capacity (TAC) yielded high sensitivity and specificity, but the highest likelihood ratio was for TAC, fibrinogen (Fb), and ferritin, and the highest percentages of increase were for IL-1α and IL-1β. Conclusion: The study emphasizes the importance of hygienic preventive measures to control camel mastitis and the importance of supportive treatment to reverse the hemato-biochemical and iron profile changes that result from the immune response in mastitic she-camels. ackground: Assessment of fetal growth is a major part of antenatal and perinatal care. It reflects the intrauterine environment quality. Developed countries seem to have larger fetuses than developing countries. Birth body length and head circumference (HC) of the newborn are crucial prognostic parameters in determining intrauterine growth. Aim of work: We aimed to pilot a study to determine whether Fenton charts are applicable to Egyptian preterms. Materials and Methods: This single-center cross-sectional pilot study included 2001 preterm newborns < 37 weeks gestational age. A single measurement of weight, length, and HC was measured at birth from preterms who were not born to diabetic mothers, or mothers with hypertension, do not have chromosomal or structural abnormalities, congenital cyanotic heart diseases, intrauterine growth retardation, and multiple births. We created anthropometric measurements curves using Lambda Mu Sigma (LMS) chart-maker Pro (version 2, 2006) and compared them with Fenton growth charts for preterms. Results: The weight percentiles of our studied preterms were similar to those of Fenton´s in all gestational ages. The 3rd percentile of length among female preterms, and their 3rd and 97th percentiles for head circumference were significantly higher than Fenton’s data (p = 0.018). Only the 3rd and 97th percentiles of HC measurements for our studied boys were significantly higher than Fenton’s measurements (p =0.031) and (p =0.016) respectively. Boys (n=1063) were heavier than girls (n= 983) (p = 0.003). Boys were taller than girls, and had bigger head circumference than girls (p = 0.009) and (p=0.000) respectively. Conclusion: Anthropometric measurements of our large studied cohort of preterms was in close agreement of the measurements of Fenton growth charts, apart from the larger head circumference encountered among our studied cohort. Fenton charts are applicable to Egyptian preterms.

Objective: The objective of the study was to assess the effect of A,D3,E (I/M) and oregano oil extract 15% on some clinicopathological parameters during lamb bacterial enteritis treatment. Materials and Methods: Sixty Barki lambs, 20 apparently healthy (control group) and, 40 suf¬fered from bacterial enteritis [enteric group (EG)], were subdivided into four treated groups (TGs): antibiotic group (AG), antibiotic + A,D3,E group (A + A,D3,E), antibiotic + oregano oil (AOG), and oregano group (OG). Fecal swabs were collected from EG then aseptically cultured, isolated, phe¬notypically identified, genotypically confirmed, and sequenced by PCR 16srRNA. Paper disk dif¬fusion test was used for estimation of oregano oil extract 15% antibacterial activity. After blood sample aspiration from all animals, they were clinicopathologically and statistically analyzed. Results: Escherichia coli, followed by Salmonella species and then Klebsiella species, was the main causative agents of lamb diarrhea and were susceptible to oregano oil extract 15%. A + A,D3,E and AOG showed significant (p < 0.05) enhancement of some clinicopathological parameters more than AG or OG. Matrix metalloproteinases (MMP-2 and MMP-9) and total antioxidant capacity (TAC), yielded area under the curve, sensitivity, negative predictive value as 1, 100% and 100% respectively, were determined in both EG and TGs. Conclusion: Oregano oil extract 15% has good antibacterial properties against enteric bacteria in vitro and in vivo. The combination between antibiotic and antioxidant vitamins or oregano plant extract of 15% has a good impact on some clinicopathological alterations in lamb bacterial enteri¬tis treatment. The problem of efficient ultra-massive multiple-input multiple-output (UM-MIMO) data detection in terahertz (THz)-band non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) systems is considered. We argue that the most common THz NOMA configuration is power-domain superposition coding over quasi-optical doubly-massive MIMO channels. We propose spatial tuning techniques that modify antenna subarray arrangements to enhance channel conditions. Towards recovering the superposed data at the receiver side, we propose a family of data detectors based on low-complexity channel matrix puncturing, in which higher-order detectors are dynamically formed from lower-order component detectors. The proposed solutions are first detailed for the case of superposition coding of multiple streams in point-to-point THz MIMO links. Then, the study is extended to multi-user NOMA, in which randomly distributed users get grouped into narrow cell sectors and are allocated different power levels depending on their proximity to the base station. Successive interference cancelation is shown to be carried with minimal performance and complexity costs under spatial tuning. Approximate bit error rate (BER) equations are derived, and an architectural design is proposed to illustrate complexity reductions. Under typical THz conditions, channel puncturing introduces more than an order of magnitude reduction in BER at high signal-to-noise ratios while reducing complexity by approximately 90%.

The Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) play a significant role to alleviate the negative impacts of disasters by providing essential assistance to the rescue and evacuation operations in the affected areas. Then, the reliability of UAV connections and the accuracy of exchanged information are critical parameters. In this paper, we propose networking and security architecture for disaster surveillance UAV system. The networking scheme involves a two-tier cluster network based on IEEE 802.11ah, which can provide traffic isolation between the tiers. The security scheme guarantees the accuracy and availability of the collected information from the disaster area applying fingerprint features and data redundancy techniques; the proposed scheme also utilizes the lightweight Ring-Learning with Errors (Ring-LWE) crypto-system to assure the confidentiality of the transmitted data with low overhead.

Background: Glycemic control needs optimal adjustment of basal insulin timing for better health in children with diabetes, optimal adjustment of basal insulin to overcome hypoglycemia and glycemic variability (GV) depend on its duration of action and peakless profile. Aim of the Work: This study aims to identify the best timing of long-acting basal insulin (degludec) in children with type 1 diabetes mellitus. Patients and Methods: The current study is an observational study studying glycemic control as evidenced by HbA1c % in relation to the time of long-acting insulin (degludec) The study included 20 patients (age between 4:18 years), with type 1 diabetes received morning dose of insulin degludec then same dose but at night. participants are regularly following up at the Pediatrics and Adolescents Diabetes Unit (PADU), children's Hospital, Ain Shams University in the period between October 2022 and April 2023, detailed history from participants was taken including: age, history of onset and duration of DM, associated co-morbidities, family history, Insulin regimen including mode of insulin delivery, total daily insulin dose (unit per Kg per day), type of insulin, frequency of injection and current injection timing, Thorough clinical examination: anthropometric parameters were assessed on WHO Z score and clinical evaluation of injection sites for apparent lipodystrophy. Investigations included the annual follow up investigations of the patient (CBC, lipid profile, thyroid profile, liver function tests, urinary albumin creatinine ratio, celiac screening, last hemoglobin A1c) and fundus examination. Glycemic control was assessed by pre-prandial and post-prandial readings and Hb A1c. Results: The current study compares participants on morning regimen degludec followed by same dose at night regarding the impact on glycemic control, showed that Hb A1c % was better in children and adolescents using insulin degludec in the morning (mean of Hb A1c (8.23 ± 0.45%) compared to when using insulin degludec at night (mean of Hb A1c 9.16 ± 2.50%), irrespective of age. Conclusion: Hb A1c as a measure of glycemic control was better when insulin Degludec was used in a morning regimen than when insulin degludec was given at night.
