Maillard reaction is a very famous reaction in food science. This paper overviews some information on Maillard reaction which is relevant for easy learning and understanding the Maillard reaction chemistry. Depending on the previous (2000-2015) and latest (2021) information, this contribution is made. This paper shows some effect on food characteristics occurred by Maillard reaction. In this paper how food properties (flavor, color, texture, odor, etc.) are influenced and changed by Maillard reaction is discussed. This paper is also discussed some positive and negative effects of Maillard reaction on foods and on humans. This paper also shows how Maillard reaction products can affect the human health. Production of antioxidants, formation of flavor, browning, and anti-browning activity of Maillard reaction products are also reviewed here

Manufacturing natural based high-performance composites is becoming a greater interest to the composite manufacturers and to their end users due to their bio-degredability,low cost and availability. Yarn based textile architecture is commonly used in manufacturing these composites due to their excellent formability. However, for using natural based yarn as a reinforcing architectures in high load bearing structural composite applications, a significant improvement in mechanical performance is required. Particularly, jute fibre yarn suffers with poor mechanical properties due to the presence of fibrillar network, polysacharides and other impurities in the fibre. For achieving this, we use aqueous glycine treatment (10%, W/V) on alkali(0.5 %, W/V) and untreated jute yarns for the first time. The glycine treatment on alkali treated jute yarns (ATG) shows a huge improvement in tensile strength and strain values by almost ⁓105% and ⁓50 % respectively compared to untreated jute yarns (UT) because of the strong interactions and bonds developed between glycine, alkali and jute yarns. It is believed that the newly developed glycine treated jute yarns will be helpful to promote jute yarns in composite industries where load-bearing is primary requirement and replace their synthetic counterparts.

A nobly designed photonic crystal fiber has been proposed with ellipse core for higher nonlinearity and higher numerical aperture in this study. This design can sense aqueous analysis over a wavelength range of (1.00 µm to 1.6 µm). The numerical solution has been done using Finite Element Method (FEM) employing a boundary condition. The proposed model provides a high nonlinearity of 1.10×10s W −1 Km −1 along with the numerical aperture of 0.795 at operating wavelength of 1 µm & 1.55 µm respectively for fundamental single mode operation and the effective area have further discussed. The structure is pragmatic for sensing and laser applications. This model may also find comprehensive operation in spectroscopy and imaging.

Since the Rana Plaza tragedy in 2013, the Ready-Made Garment (RMG) industry, the most vital role-playing sector in the Bangladeshi economy, has faced many challenges, including labour unrest, image crisis, and pressure from local and international stakeholders to ensure worker safety. The tragic incident in 2013 prompted many initiatives for rehabilitation, the amendment of labour laws, the agreement on treaties for factory inspection, etc. As a consequence, national and international compliance bodies were set up to ensure a safe working environment in the RMG production sector in Bangladesh, such as The Accord, The Alliance, WRAP, BSCI, FLA, ETI, SAI, Sedex, etc. Furthermore, most advanced factories adopted their sustainability self-regulatory sets of norms to ensure a better working environment. Although these local and international compliance initiatives triggered notable changes in the sector, to the working environment and the worker safety, in particular, a major challenge arose for the producing factories to simultaneously comply with all the codes of conducts of the different compliance bodies. This study will present an overview of the most common practices required by the different codes of conducts in the Bangladeshi RMG sector and demonstrate how the different standardization organizations challenge the overall compliance in the RMG production processes in Bangladesh. An analysis of these challenges will also be given, finally leading to a list of eight key points that need to be solved by the producers to deal with the current problems in the industry.
