Expressing melancholy and emotional yearning of the past time, called Nostalgia is cause of people movement from homeland to other city, state, country or region, seeking for employment, education, political asylum, citizenship or persuading security in safer and less crimes places or safeguard from environmental disaster etc. is called migration which, since long, has resulted in manifold complications. As an immigrant, despite of forcedly bifurcating from his homeland for one reason or the other, he can never eradicate his past memories and deep attachments with motherland. Soon after the division of subcontinent, people of the area also left their origin to settle down in new country for safety and security but during crossing the durned line, brutal violence and pitiless massacres on both sides caused enormous killing of family members and abduction of young girls and women.

One-dimensional Al-doped CdS nanobelts were synthesized for the first time via chemical vapor deposition. The vertically synthesized Cd1-xAlxS nanobelts (x = 0–3.09) exhibited high crystallinity. We have reported here an investigation of optical and electrical properties of prepared nanobelts for potential applications in nano-optoelectronics. The successful incorporation of Al into individual CdS nanobelts was confirmed by powder X-ray diffraction analysis, energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy, and Raman spectroscopy. Photoluminescence spectra showed multiple peaks; one emission band appeared at 728 nm (red emission), and a new broad emission band consisting of three peaks centered at 930–961 nm (NIR-1), 954–992 nm (NIR-2), and 1042 nm (NIR-3) appeared in the near-infrared (NIR). All the NIR peaks correspond to the d–d transition of Al ions. Doping with 3.09% Al increased the conductivity of the samples from 1.097 × 10−6 to 2.59 × 10−5 A, indicating suitability for optoelectronic applications, including nanoscale light sources and buffer layer materials in solar panels.

With technological advancements, domestic appliances are leveraging smart technologies for getting smarter through learning from their past usage to enhance user comfort and energy efficiency. Among these, ceiling fans, though widely used in Lower- and Middle-Income Countries (LMICs) in temperate regions, still lack a cohesive system integrating all necessary sensors with a machine learning-based system to optimize their operation for comfort and energy saving and to experimentally verify the performance under different usage scenarios that could transform a high-power-consuming device into an energy-efficient system. Therefore, the present research proposes an experimentally verified and energy-efficient Artificial Intelligence of Things (AIoT)-based system that could be retrofitted with regular DC ceiling fans. An Internet of Things (IoTs) circuit, equipped with an ESP8266 microcontroller, temperature, humidity, and motion sensors, was designed to communicate with a developed Android application and an online dashboard. A total of 123 ceiling fans with the designed IoTs circuit were deployed at various household locations for two years, with manual operations for the first year. In the next year, an auto mode based on the predictions of the machine learning model was introduced. The experimental outcomes showed that the fan with added smart features reduced the energy loss by almost 50% as compared to conventional AC ceiling fans. Consequently, the carbon footprint of the appliances is reduced significantly. A high user-rated acceptability of the system, examined through a standard measure, was also achieved. Energy management is important for both consumers and utility providers. Utility providers are concerned with identifying and reducing energy wastage and thefts. Consumers are interested in reducing their energy consumption and bills. In Pakistan, residential and industrial estates account for nearly 31,000 MW of the maximum total demand, while the transmission and distribution capacity has stalled at about 22,000 MW. This 9000 MW gap in demand and supply, as reported in 2022, has led to frequent load shedding. Although the country now has an excess generation capacity of about 45,000 MW, the aging transmission and distribution network cannot deliver the requisite power at all times. Hence, electricity-related problems are likely to continue for the next few years in the country and the same is true for other low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). Several energy monitoring systems (EnMS) have been proposed, but they face limitations in terms of cost, ease of application, lack of universal installation capability, customization, and data security. The research below focused on the development of an economical, secure, and customizable real-time EnMS. The proposed EnMS comprises low-cost hardware for gathering energy data with universal compatibility, a secured communication module for real-time data transmission, and a dashboard application for visualization of real-time energy consumption in a user-preferred manner, making the information easily accessible and actionable. The experimental results and analysis revealed that approximately 40% cost savings in EnMS development could be achieved compared to other commercially available EnMSs. The performance of the EnMS hardware was evaluated and validated through rigorous on-site experiments. The front-end of the EnMS was assessed through surveys and was found to be interactive and user-friendly for the target clients. The developed EnMS architecture was found to be an economical end-product and an appropriate approach for small and medium clients such as residential, institutional, commercial, and industrial consumers, all on one platform. Low-temperature synthesis of ZnTe nanowires (NWs) is a helpful advancement in realization of low cost nanostructured electronic devices. This article reports a novel and low temperature (275 °C) synthesis of one-dimensional (1D) NWs of ZnTe on glass substrate. X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and energy dispersive x-ray analysis (EDX) revealed that prepared NWs have good crystallinity and yield. Have one ever seen a semiconductor that can issue two-color lasing lines? The diluted magnetic semiconductor (DMS) can do this. Here, we have observed dual lasing lines of 530 nm and 789 nm from a DMS structure of CdS:NiI, in which the excitonic magnetic polaron (EMP) and localized excitonic magnetic polaron (LEMP) are excitations out of ferromagnetic (NiS)x nanocluster and NiI2 nanoclusters within CdS lattice; both of them could lead to the collective EMP state at high excitation and therein produce coherent emission lines simultaneously. This occurrence is due to the superposition of EMP near CdS bandedge and the combination of the charge-transfer band of (NiI)n cluster with the LEMP within CdS lattice by overcoming the strong electron correlation of NiI cluster in a DMS structure, evidenced also by ab initio calculation. This finding opens a way to understand the collective behaviour of spin-coupled excitons in DMS and to find novel applications in the spin-related quantum technology.
