This study was undertaken on order to determine if pregnant patients should undergo tests for inherited thrombophilia when intrauterine growth restriction (IUGR) is present. We conducted a study including 343 patients with singleton pregnancy, at the Obstetrics and Gynecology Clinic of the Bucharest University Emergency Hospital, Romania from October 2015 till October 2016, researching and analyzing the correlations between inherited thrombophilia and IUGR, using ultrasound evaluation and blood test samples, as thrombophilic mutations may be a cause for IUGR due to inadequate placental circulation. The patients were distributed in two groups, one comprising patients with no clinical or ultrasonographical signs of IUGR and the other consisting of 29 patients with IUGR, with birth weight below the 10th percentile for the given gestational age. We concluded that MTHFR C677T gene mutation and Factor V Leiden were associated with an increased risk of IUGR, being up to 3 times more prevalent in mothers with fetuses affected by IUGR. Sjögren's syndrome, a chronic disease which affects particularly the female gender, represents one of the most common autoimmune diseases and does not affect women of childbearing age, but is especially prevalent during perimenopause. It may be primary when only exocrine glandular dysfunctin occurs (xerophthalmia, xerostomia) or it may be secondary, when is most often associated with rheumatoid arthritis or systemic lupus erythematosus and affects the whole body. Pregnancy cases in the context of this disease are relatively rare, precisely by their incidence in women for whom fertility is not a priority anymore, at the age of 40 or 50 years old, but observing the trend of the last decades, through the implications offered by the modern society, with the increasing age when the first baby is conceived, the number of cases and associated outcome increase. The pregnancy outcome in the context of this disease is insufficiently known comparing to the one appearing in women affected by other autoimmune disorders. The most fearfull complication is represented by the fetal risk of congenital heart block. We report the case of a 29-year-old patient diagnosed with primary Sjögren's syndrome, consistent with AECG criteria (AmericanEuropean Consensus Group, 2002) prior to pregnancy, which required a multidisciplinary approach and a close cooperation between the obstetrician, rheumatologist, ophthalmologist and internal medicine physicians. During the 36th week of pregnancy she delivered by caesarean section. Both the patient and the newborn postoperative evolutions were favorable, with no evidence of fetal heart complications. Taking into account the potential maternal and fetal complications, the management of pregnant women diagnosed with Sjögren's syndrome represents a real challenge for the obstetrician and requires an interdisciplinary approach in order to decrease the morbidity and mortality, both of the mother, as well as the fetus. Endometriosis is a gynecological estrogen-dependent disease, characterized by the presence of active endometrial tissue, represented by glandular epithelial and stromal cells, outside the uterine cavity. There have been described three types of endometriosis: peritoneal superficial endometriosis, ovarian endometriomas, and deep infiltrating endometriosis (DIE). DIE is deffined from a histologically perspective as a lesion that extends more than 5 mm into the peritoneal space or which affects the wall of the pelvic organs. Endometriosis of the bladder is considered to be a form of deeply infiltrating endometriosis. The relation with infertility involves multiple and complex mechanisms. It is estimated that over half of the patients affected by this condition are subfertile. Many women with either minimal, mild or severe endometriosis experience difficulties in conceiving or maintaining a pregnancy. We report the case of a women diagnosed with a severe form of infiltrating endometriosis, with endometrioma in the bladder, who obtained a pregnancy and delivered in the 39 week of gestation by caesarean section and had a good evolution.
