Such implementations can be useful in the task of finding potential victims in the context of emergency response, especially in situations where GPS is not available or inspection by imaging is not practical. Radio signals come into play, and specifically from devices that transmit periodically and with low power consumption. With the rise of Internet of Things over the last years, the number of wearable devices that support BLE, such as smartbands, smartwatches or smartphones, has been increasing constantly, as well as the number of users that carry them. Those devices can provide considerable assistance in locating injured or unconscious people. This work presents a system for detecting victims by means of a terrestrial search and rescue (SAR) robot. A real implementation of a close detection robotic platform based on BLE for SAR interventions is laid out. To estimate the distance between a robotic agent and potential victims within an experimental area, a Log-distance path loss model is presented. El objetivo de este trabajo fue estudiar aspectos ecológicos y epidemiológicos de las Equinococcosis del norte de Misiones. A su vez, generar información sobre otros helmintos parásitos de importancia ecológica y sanitaria. Se colectaron muestras de 80 animales silvestres atropellados y 178 muestras de materia fecal de felinos silvestres y perros domésticos en ambientes de selva e interfaz silvestre/rural. Las muestras de helmintos se caracterizaron mediante la integración de análisis morfológicos y moleculares. En esta tesis se describe el ciclo silvestre completo de Echinococcus oligarthrus, demostrando la existencia de diversidad genética con dos poblaciones diferenciadas, ampliando el rango de hospedadores para el ciclo con el roedor Dasyprocta asarae y para Argentina con los felinos Puma concolor, Leopardus pardalis y Herpailurus yagoauroundi. Se identificó la especie Sparganum proliferum molecular y morfológicamente por primera vez para Argentina. Se registraron por primera vez especímenes adultos de Sparganum proliferum, junto a sus hospedadores definitivos: Panthera onca, H. yagoauroundi, Leopardus guttulus y L. pardalis. Se identificó el ciclo de Taenia omissa como un nuevo registro para Argentina ampliando el rango de hospedadores: Mazama americana, Cavia aperea y H. yagoauroundi. Mediante coprología se registraron 11 grupos parasitarios (Ascaridida, Cystoisospora sp., Pseudophyllidea, Ancylostomatidae, Strongyloides spp., Trichuridea, Taeniidae, Hymenolepididae, Acanthocephala, Pterygodermatites sp. y Platynosomum sp.) de los cuales nueve son zoonóticos, con nuevos registros para Argentina tanto de hospedadores como de grupos parasitarios. Se comprobó la presencia de animales silvestres en la interfaz, de las cuales algunas fueron registradas como hospedadoras naturales de parásitos zoonóticos en esta tesis. The objective of this work was to study ecological and epidemiological aspects of the Echinococcosis of the north of Misiones. In turn, generate information on other parasitic helminths of ecological and sanitary importance. Samples were collected from 80 roadkill wild animals and 178 fecal matter samples from wild cats and domestic dogs in jungle environments and wild / rural interface. 22. Personal Values and Entrepreneurial Intentions: the Role of Collectivistic Values

This doctoral dissertation bases its analysis in the conviction that personal values (PV) relevantly affect the individuals’ entrepreneurial intentions (EIs). The personal value structure act as a powerful antecedent in the formation of EIs. To test this relationship, this dissertation first carries out a systematic literature review (SLR) where most valuable previous insights are recollected and an integrative conceptual framework is presented. This SLR has found that, in particular, the Basic Human Value theory proposed by Schwartz in 1992 and the Theory of Planned Behaviour developed by Ajzen in 1991 are the most relevant frameworks used to analyse this relationship between PV and EIs. In the same vein, the SLR identifies this research topic as a novel field of study since most of the relevant contributions have been published since 2011, half of which appeared from 2017. On the other hand, an empirical study is carried out to test this relationship. In this regard, this dissertation proposes an analysis of the role of the collectivistic PVs in the formation of EIs. Accordingly, a cross-country study was conducted on a sample of individuals from two different regions, Hampshire in the United Kingdom, and Catalonia in Spain. The Values and Entrepreneurial Intention (VIE) questionnaire was used to measure this value-intention relationship. As a result, we find PVs to exert an indirect and negative effect on the entrepreneurial intention through both personal attitude and perceived behavioural control. Nevertheless, we also find an indirect positive effect through subjective norms. These results are consistent in both countries. This dissertation highlights that not only individualistic values are needed to exert an influence on the formation of entrepreneurial intentions, but also, those of a more collectivistic nature. These latter values also explain the formation of entrepreneurial intention. However, we find that very few studies have so far focused their analysis on these collectivistic values. Finally, this dissertation proposes some relevant conclusions and implications. Consequently, the research includes a future research agenda and opportunities to further explain the relationship of PV and EIs.

Detection systems have recently received considerable attention because of the importance of tracking infected people during SARS-CoV-2 pandemic. With the rise of Internet of Things and the plethora of wearable devices used in everyday life, like a smartphone, Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) can provide considerable assistance in locating lost people. This work presents a system for detecting victims in a non-structured environment, by means of a search and rescue (SAR) robot. A real implementation of a close detection robotic platform based on BLE for SAR interventions is laid out. In order to estimate the distance between a robotic agent and potential victims within an experimental area, a Log-distance path loss model is presented, which has been tuned to detect beacons with reasonable accuracy within a range of 25 meters in rugged environments. The proposed scheme has been tested in realistic scenarios during SAR exercises. The range-wide management of the jaguar (Panthera onca) depends upon maintaining core populations connected through multi-national, transboundary cooperation, which is dependent upon understanding the movement ecology and space use of jaguars throughout their range. Using 117 telemetry trajectories from 12 ecoregions, we examined the landscape-level environmental and anthropogenic factors related to jaguar home range size and movement parameters. Range-wide and at the ecoregional scale home range size decreased with increasing net productivity and increased with increasing road density. Also, range-wide, home range size decreased with increasing forest cover and decreasing human population density. Movement within home ranges was best explained by a different set of environmental covariates. Range-wide predictions of home range size were consistent with expectations based upon density estimates. Our findings provide a mechanism to evaluate range-wide habitat quality for jaguars and an inferential modeling framework that can be adapted to the conservation of other large terrestrial carnivores.

This article analyses the specific role of collectivistic personal values as an antecedent of entrepreneurial intention. While previous studies have focused on individualistic values, the influence of collectivistic values has remained largely ignored. We study this influence on a sample of 413 university students from the United Kingdom and Spain. The results are consistent in both countries, suggesting that an emphasis on collectivistic personal values triggers an indirect, negative effect on entrepreneurial intentions through both personal attitude and perceived behavioural control. However, it also induces an indirect positive effect through subjective norms. The study indicates that not only individualistic values but the complete personal-value structure is influential in explaining the formation of entrepreneurial intentions.

Xenarthrans -anteaters, sloths, and armadillos- have essential functions for ecosystem maintenance, such as insect control and nutrient cycling, playing key roles as ecosystem engineers. Because of habitat loss and fragmentation, hunting pressure, and conflicts with domestic dogs, these species have been threatened locally, regionally, or even across their full distribution ranges. The Neotropics harbor 21 species of armadillos, 10 anteaters, and 6 sloths. Our data set includes the families Chlamyphoridae (13), Dasypodidae (7), Myrmecophagidae (3), Bradypodidae (4), and Megalonychidae (2). We have no occurrence data on Dasypus pilosus (Dasypodidae). Regarding Cyclopedidae, until recently, only one species was recognized, but new genetic studies have revealed that the group is represented by seven species. In this data paper, we compiled a total of 42,528 records of 31 species, represented by occurrence and quantitative data, totaling 24,847 unique georeferenced records. The geographic range is from the southern United States, Mexico, and Caribbean countries at the northern portion of the Neotropics, to the austral distribution in Argentina, Paraguay, Chile, and Uruguay. Regarding anteaters, Myrmecophaga tridactyla has the most records (n = 5,941), and Cyclopes sp. Have the fewest (n = 240). The armadillo species with the most data is Dasypus novemcinctus (n = 11,588), and the fewest data are recorded for Calyptophractus retusus (n = 33). With regard to sloth species, Bradypus variegatus has the most records (n = 962), and Bradypus pygmaeus has the fewest (n = 12). Our main objective with Neotropical Xenarthrans is to make occurrence and quantitative data available to facilitate more ecological research, particularly if we integrate the xenarthran data with other data sets of Neotropical Series that will become.

An ecological analysis of a tick (Ixodida: Ixodidae) community across a landscape gradient presenting differential anthropogenic disturbance in the Atlantic Forest ecoregion in Argentina was performed. Ticks were collected from vegetation and hosts between September 2014 and August 2016. A total of 12 697 free-living ticks and 3347 specimens from hosts were collected, including 317 ticks infesting humans. The values obtained show considerable species diversity in the forest environment accompanied by low equitability. The similarity index derived from a comparison of forest and agricultural environments was higher than that calculated by comparing forest and urban environments. The data suggest that although a cycle of one generation per year is apparent in some species, more than one cohort may co-exist within the populations of some of these species. Well-marked patterns of the seasonal distribution of free-living tick species emerged in environments with no anthropic modification. The results indicate that forest environments are more suitable habitats than agricultural and urban environments for many species of native tick, but are unsuitable for exotic species that have successfully established in environments that have been modified by man. The taxonomic identification of species in the genus PhilornisMeinert (Diptera: Muscidae) has been based primarily upon analysis of morphological characters. However, relying solely on morphology has led to frequent species misidentification. This has been empirically demonstrated when specimens identified morphologically as Philornis seguyihave been reclassified as Philornis torquansbased on DNA sequences of the second ribosomal internal transcribed spacer (ITS2), showing that the morphologic distinction between these 2 species is extremely challenging. Herein, new molecular data on specimens assigned to P. torquansand P. seguyifrom the type locality of P. seguyi(Misiones province, Argentina) were analyzed. The ITS2 sequences obtained differed from those previously reported for Philornis, increasing to 3 the number of documented genotypes of flies morphologically indistinguishable from P. torquans. These results strongly suggest that subcutaneous Philornisspp. from southern South America could represent a species complex (P. torquanscomplex).

Therapeutic use of oral anticoagulants began some fifty years ago. In the past decade, we have witnessed a large increase in the number of people who undergo oral anticoagulant treatment. A correct applied control on these patients, whether that control be carried out in a hospital setting or in a primary health care center, has been demonstrated to be effective in preventing serious complications; this fact taken into account with the improved life quality gained by avoiding displacements and inconveniences makes it obvious to conclude that decentralization benefits all concerned. There are various models available to use to manage oral anticoagulant treatment. In this analysis, the authors deal with the management carried out from a primary health care center which contacts patients after their dosis has been adjusted and validated by a hematologist at the Torrecárdenas Hospital Complex. As their hypothesis, the authors of this study plan to demonstrate the possibility of decentralizing the reviews of patients undergoing oral anticoagulant treatment, thereby avoiding trips in order to control and adjust their treatment. This is a non-random clinical study whose study group has been chosen by means of a non-probability criteria. This study lasted 12 months. The subjects were chosen from patients undergoing oral anticoagulant treatment registered in the hematology service's data base at the Torrecárdenas Hospital Complex in Almeria. Applied protocol for being included in this study was decentralization of coagulation. The study sample included 38,097 patients. This study included commentaries by the patients receiving this treatment as a fundamental element to prove its effectiveness.
