Chromium ditelluride, CrTe$_2$, is an attractive candidate van der Waals material for hosting 2D magnetism. However, how the room-temperature ferromagnetism of the bulk evolves as the sample is thinned to the single-layer limit has proved controversial. This, in part, reflects its metastable nature, vs. a series of more stable self-intercalation compounds with higher relative Cr:Te stoichiometry. Here, exploiting a recently-developed method for enhancing nucleation in molecular beam epitaxy growth of transition-metal chalcogenides, we demonstrate the selective stabilisation of high-coverage CrTe$_2$ and Cr$_{2+\varepsilon}$Te$_3$ epitaxial monolayers. Combining X-ray magnetic circular dichroism, scanning tunnelling microscopy, and temperature-dependent angle-resolved photoemission, we demonstrate that both compounds order magnetically with a similar Tc. We find, however, that monolayer CrTe$_2$ forms as an anti-ferromagnetic metal, while monolayer Cr$_{2+\varepsilon}$Te$_3$ hosts an intrinsic ferromagnetic semiconducting state. This work thus demonstrates that control over the self-intercalation of metastable Cr-based chalcogenides provides a powerful route for tuning both their metallicity and magnetic structure, establishing the Cr-Te system as a flexible materials class for future 2D spintronics.

As a potential non-invasive biomarker for ischaemic stroke, intracranial arterial calcification (IAC) could be used for stroke risk assessment on CT head scans routinely acquired for other reasons (e.g. trauma, confusion). Artificial intelligence methods can support IAC scoring, but they have not yet been developed for clinical imaging. Large heterogeneous clinical CT datasets are necessary for the training of such methods, but they exhibit expected and unexpected data anomalies. Using CTs from a large clinical trial, the third International Stroke Trial (IST-3), we propose a pipeline that uses as input non-enhanced CT scans to output regions of interest capturing selected large intracranial arteries for IAC scoring. Our method uses co-registration with templates. We focus on quality control, using information presence along the z-axis of the imaging to group and apply similarity measures (structural similarity index measure) to triage assessment of individual image series. Additionally, we propose superimposing thresholded binary masks of the series to inspect large quantities of data in parallel. We identify and exclude unrecoverable samples and registration failures. In total, our pipeline processes 10,659 CT series, rejecting 4,322 (41%) in the entire process, 1,450 (14% of the total) during quality control, and outputting 6,337 series. We have used a combination of linear response time-domain THz spectroscopy (TDTS) and high-field non-linear THz spectroscopy to separately probe the electronic momentum and energy relaxation rates respectively of the Dirac semimetal Cd$_3$As$_2$. We find, consistent with prior measurements, that Cd$_3$As$_2$ has an enormous nonlinearities in the THz frequency range. We extract the momentum relaxation rate of Cd$_3$As$_2$ using Drude fits to the optical conductivity. We also conduct THz range 2D coherent spectroscopy. The dominant response is a pump-probe signal, which allow us to separately extract the energy relaxation rate. We find that the rate of energy relaxation decreases down to the lowest measured temperatures. We connect this to Cd$_3$As$_2$ anomalous lattice dynamics, evidence for which is found in its low thermal conductivity and soft phonons in Raman scattering. The lack of a peak in the energy relaxation rate as a function of T can be connected to the linear in T dependence of the current relaxation e.g. the phonon scattering is elastic down to the lowest measured temperatures approximately 120 K., Comment: 10 pages, 4 figures, revised version to appear in PRB

With three-dimensional hydrodynamical simulations we show that the size of the decretion disc and the structure of the accretion flow onto the neutron star in a Be/X-ray binary strongly depends upon the disc aspect ratio, $H/R$. We simulate a Be star disc that is coplanar to the orbit of a circularly or moderately eccentric neutron star companion, thereby maximising the effects of tidal truncation. For low disc aspect ratio, $H/R\lesssim 0.1$, the disc is efficiently tidally truncated by the neutron star. Most material that escapes the Roche lobe of the Be star is accreted by the neutron star through tidal streams. For larger disc aspect ratio, the outflow rate through the Be star disc is higher, tidal truncation becomes inefficient, the disc fills the Roche lobe and extends to the orbit of the companion. Some material escapes the binary as a gas stream that begins near the L2 point. While the accretion rate onto the neutron star is higher, the fraction of the outflow that is accreted by the neutron star is smaller. Low density Be star discs are expected to be approximately isothermal, such that $H/R$ increases with radius. Tidal truncation is therefore weaker for larger separation binaries, and lower mass primaries., Comment: Accepted for publication in MNRAS

Deep learning-based probabilistic models of musical data are producing increasingly realistic results and promise to enter creative workflows of many kinds. Yet they have been little-studied in a performance setting, where the results of user actions typically ought to feel instantaneous. To enable such study, we designed Notochord, a deep probabilistic model for sequences of structured events, and trained an instance of it on the Lakh MIDI dataset. Our probabilistic formulation allows interpretable interventions at a sub-event level, which enables one model to act as a backbone for diverse interactive musical functions including steerable generation, harmonization, machine improvisation, and likelihood-based interfaces. Notochord can generate polyphonic and multi-track MIDI, and respond to inputs with latency below ten milliseconds. The mechanism of superconductivity in materials with aborted ferroelectricity and the emergence of a dilute metallic phase in systems like doped-SrTiO$_3$ are outstanding issues in condensed matter physics. This dilute metal has features both similar and different to those found in the normal state of other unconventional superconductors. We have investigated the optical properties of the dilute metallic phase in doped-SrTiO$_3$ using THz time-domain spectroscopy. At low frequencies the THz response exhibits a Drude-like form as expected for typical metal-like conductivity. We observed the frequency and temperature dependencies to the low energy scattering rate $\Gamma(\omega, T) \propto (\hbar\omega)^2 + (p \pi k_BT)^2 $ expected in a conventional Fermi liquid, despite the fact that densities are too small to allow current decay through electron-electron scattering. However we find the lowest known $p$ values of 0.39-0.72. As $p$ is 2 in a canonical Fermi liquid and existing models based on energy dependent elastic scattering bound $p$ from below to 1, our observation lies outside current explanation. Our data also gives insight into the high temperature regime and shows that the temperature dependence of the resistivity derives in part from strong T dependent mass renormalizations., Comment: 6 pages, 4figures

A supersolid is a quantum entangled state of matter that combines features of both superfluids and solids. Despite predictions of its analog in quantum magnets, the experimental realization was lacking until recent claims in triangular-lattice compounds. Here, we report the magnetic phase diagram and neutron scattering for a spin-1/2 triangular-lattice antiferromagnet, K$_2$Co(SeO$_3$)$_2$. In zero field, neutron spectroscopy reveals the gradual development of a $\sqrt3 \times sqrt3$ magnetic order associated with $Z_3$ symmetry breaking for temperatures 5 K < T < 15 K. Below 5 K, the emergence of a Goldstone mode from low-energy continuum scattering suggests that the system enters a supersolid phase characterized by the breaking of both $Z_3$ and spin rotational U(1) symmetry. In c-axis-oriented magnetic fields 1.1 T < B < 21 T, a prominent 1/3 magnetization plateau phase emerges, accompanied by a distinct high-field supersolid phase (18 T < B < 21 T). From the coherent spin wave excitations in the 1/3 magnetized plateau phase, we infer the spin Hamiltonian, which features nearest neighbor interactions with $J_z$ = 2.98(2) meV and $J_{\rm perp}$ = 0.21(3) meV. Our work demonstrates that K$_2$Co(SeO$_3$)$_2$ is a spectacular example of a spin-1/2 triangular-lattice quantum Ising antiferromagnet, documents its magnetic phase diagram highlighting two supersolid phases, and provides spectroscopic evidence of zero-field supersolidity., Comment: 13 pages, 5 figures

The formation of circumplanetary disks is central to our understanding of giant planet formation, influencing their growth rate during the post-runaway phase and observability while embedded in protoplanetary disks. We use 3D global multifluid radiation hydrodynamics simulations with the FARGO3D code to define the thermodynamic conditions that enable circumplanetary disk formation around Jovian planets on wide orbits. Our simulations include stellar irradiation, viscous heating, static mesh refinement, and active calculation of opacity based on evolving dust fluids. We find a necessary condition for the formation of circumplanetary disks in terms of a mean cooling time: when the cooling time is at least one order of magnitude shorter than the orbital time scale, the specific angular momentum of the gas is nearly Keplerian at scales of $R_{\rm{Hill}}/3$. We show that the inclusion of multifluid dust dynamics favors rotational support because dust settling produces an anisotropic opacity distribution that favors rapid cooling. In all our models with radiation hydrodynamics, specific angular momentum decreases as time evolves in agreement with the formation of an inner isentropic envelope due to compressional heating. The isentropic envelope can extend up to $R_{\rm{Hill}}/3$ and shows negligible rotational support. Inelastic neutron scattering (INS) measurements of powder D$_3(^{7}$Li)($^{193}$Ir)$_2$O$_6$ reveal low energy magnetic excitations with a scattering cross section that is broad in $|Q|$ and consistent with a Kitaev spin-liquid (KSL) state. The magnetic nature of the excitation spectrum is demonstrated by longitudinally polarized neutron studies. The total magnetic moment of 1.7(2)$\mu_B$/Ir inferred from the total magnetic scattering cross section is consistent with the effective moment inferred from magnetic susceptibility data and expectations for the $J_{\rm eff}=1/2$ single ion state. The rise in the dynamic correlation function ${\cal S}(Q,\omega)$ for $\hbar\omega<5~$meV can be described by a nearest-neighbor Kitaev model with interaction strength $K\approx-13(5)$~meV. We present a new method for high precision measurements of polarization rotation in the frequency range from 0.2 to 2.2 THz using a fiber coupled time-domain THz spectrometer. A free standing wire-grid polarizer splits THz light into orthogonal components which are then measured by two separate detectors simultaneously. We theoretically model the uncertainties introduced by optical component non-idealities and predict that we may expect to achieve precisions of order 2.3 $\mu$rad (0.13 mdeg) and accuracies of 0.8$\%$ when anti-symmetrizing the response with respect to an applied field. Anti-symmetrization improves precision by more than four orders of magnitude. We demonstrate this method on a 2D electron gas in magnetic field and show that we achieve a precision of 20 $\mu$rad (1.1 mdeg) for small polarization rotation angles. Separating out the contributions of different scattering channels in strongly interacting metals is crucial in identifying the mechanisms that govern their properties. While momentum or current relaxation rates can be readily probed via \textit{dc} resistivity or optical/THz spectroscopy, distinguishing different kinds of inelastic scattering can be more challenging. Using nonlinear THz 2D coherent spectroscopy, we measure the rates of energy relaxation after THz excitation in the strongly interacting Fermi liquid, Sr$_2$RuO$_4$. Energy relaxation is a bound on the total scattering and specifically a measure of contributions to the electron self-energy that arise from {\it inelastic} coupling to a bath. We observe two distinct energy relaxation channels: a fast process that we interpret as energy loss to the phonon system and a much slower relaxation that we interpret as arising from a non-equilibrium phonon effects and subsequent heat loss through diffusion. Interestingly, even the faster energy relaxation rate is at least an order of magnitude slower than the overall momentum relaxation rate, consistent with strong electron interactions and the dominance of energy-conserving umklapp or interband electron-electron scattering in momentum relaxation. The slowest energy relaxation rate decays on a sub-GHz scale, consistent with the relaxation dynamics of non-equilibrium phonons. Our observations reveal the versatility of nonlinear THz spectroscopy to measure the energy relaxation dynamics in correlated metals. The streaming instability (SI) is a leading candidate for planetesimal formation, which can concentrate solids through two-way aerodynamic interactions with the gas. The resulting concentrations can become sufficiently dense to collapse under particle self-gravity, forming planetesimals. Previous studies have carried out large parameter surveys to establish the critical particle to gas surface density ratio ($Z$), above which SI-induced concentration triggers planetesimal formation. The threshold $Z$ depends on the dimensionless stopping time ($\tau_s$, a proxy for dust size). However, these studies neglected both particle self-gravity and external turbulence. Here, we perform 3D stratified shearing box simulations with both particle self-gravity and turbulent forcing, which we characterize via $\alpha_D$ that measures turbulent diffusion. We find that forced turbulence, at amplitudes plausibly present in some protoplanetary disks, can increase the threshold $Z$ by up to an order of magnitude. For example, for $\tau_s = 0.01$, planetesimal formation occurs when $Z \gtrsim 0.06$, $\gtrsim 0.1$, and $\gtrsim 0.2$ at $\alpha_D = 10^{-4}$, $10^{-3.5}$, and $10^{-3}$, respectively. We provide a single fit to the critical $Z$ as a function of $\alpha_D$ and $\tau_s$ required for the SI to work (though limited to the range $\tau_s = 0.01$--0.1). Our simulations also show that planetesimal formation requires a mid-plane particle-to-gas density ratio that exceeds unity, with the critical value being independent of $\alpha_D$. Recently developed terahertz (THz) two-dimensional coherent spectroscopy (2DCS) is a powerful technique to obtain materials information in a fashion qualitatively different from other spectroscopies. Here, we utilized THz 2DCS to investigate the THz nonlinear response of conventional superconductor NbN. Using broad-band THz pulses as light sources, we observed a third-order nonlinear signal whose spectral components are peaked at twice the superconducting gap energy $2\Delta$. With narrow-band THz pulses, a THz nonlinear signal was identified at the driving frequency $\Omega$ and exhibited a resonant enhancement at temperature when $\Omega = 2\Delta$. General theoretical considerations show that such a resonance can only arise from a disorder-activated paramagnetic coupling between the light and the electronic current. This proves that the nonlinear THz response can access processes distinct from the diamagnetic Raman-like density fluctuations, which are believed to dominate the nonlinear response at optical frequencies in metals. Our numerical simulations reveal that even for a small amount of disorder, the $\Omega=2\Delta$ resonance is dominated by the superconducting amplitude mode over the entire investigated disorder range. This is in contrast to other resonances, whose amplitude-mode contribution depends on disorder. Our findings demonstrate the unique ability of THz 2DCS to explore collective excitations inaccessible in other spectroscopies.

We introduce a multiple-carrier-lifetime model (MCLM) for light-emitting diodes (LEDs) with non-uniform carrier distribution, such as in multiple-quantum-well (MQW) structures. By employing the MCLM, we successfully explain the modulation response of V-pit engineered MQW LEDs, which exhibit an S21 roll-off slower than -20 dB/decade. Using the proposed model and employing a gradient descent method, we extract effective recombination and escape lifetimes by averaging the carrier behavior across the quantum wells. Our results reveal slower effective carrier recombination and escape in MQW LEDs compared with LEDs emitting from a single QW, indicating the advantages of lower carrier density achieved through V-pit engineering. Notably, the effective carrier recombination time is more than one order of magnitude lower than the effective escape lifetime, suggesting that most carriers in the quantum wells recombine, while the escape process remains weak. To ensure the reliability and robustness of the MCLM, we subject it to a comprehensive three-fold validation process. This work confirms the positive impact of spreading carriers into several QWs through V-pit engineering. In addition, the MCLM is applicable to other LEDs with non-uniform carrier distribution, such as micro-LEDs with significant surface recombination and non-uniform lateral carrier profiles., Comment: 21 pages, 11 figures

We present time-domain THz spectroscopy of thin films of the heavy-fermion superconductor CeCoIn$_5$. The complex optical conductivity is analyzed through a Drude model and extended Drude model analysis. Below the $\approx$ 40 K Kondo coherence temperature, a narrow Drude-like peak forms, as the result of the $f$ orbital - conduction electron hybridization and the formation of the heavy-fermion state. Via an extended Drude model analysis, we measure the frequency-dependent scattering rate ($1/ \tau $) and effective mass ($m^*/m_b$). This scattering rate shows a linear dependence on temperature, which matches the dependence of the resistivity as expected. Nonetheless, the width of the low-frequency Drude peak (characterized by a {\it renormalized} quasiparticle scattering rate ($1 / \tau^* = m_b/ m^* \tau $) does show a $T^2$ dependence giving evidence for a hidden Fermi state., Comment: 5 pages, 4 figures

We report terahertz time-domain spectroscopy (TDTS) experiments demonstrating strong light-matter coupling in a terahertz (THz) LC-metamaterial in which the phonon resonance of a topological insulator (TI) thin film is coupled to the photonic modes of an array of electronic split-ring resonators. As we tune the metamaterial resonance frequency through the frequency of the low frequency $\alpha$ mode of (Bi$_x$Sb$_{1-x}$)$_2$Te$_3$ (BST), we observe strong mixing and level repulsion between phonon and metamaterial resonance. This hybrid resonance is a phonon polariton. We observe a normalized coupling strength, $\eta$ = $\Omega_R$/$\omega_c$ $\approx$ 0.09, using the measured vacuum Rabi frequency and cavity resonance. Our results demonstrate that one can tune the mechanical properties of materials by changing their electromagnetic environment and therefore modify their magnetic and topological degrees of freedom via coupling to the lattice in this fashion.

Computed Tomography (CT) is commonly used to image acute ischemic stroke (AIS) patients, but its interpretation by radiologists is time-consuming and subject to inter-observer variability. Deep learning (DL) techniques can provide automated CT brain scan assessment, but usually require annotated images. Aiming to develop a DL method for AIS using labelled but not annotated CT brain scans from patients with AIS, we designed a convolutional neural network-based DL algorithm using routinely-collected CT brain scans from the Third International Stroke Trial (IST-3), which were not acquired using strict research protocols. The DL model aimed to detect AIS lesions and classify the side of the brain affected. We explored the impact of AIS lesion features, background brain appearances, and timing on DL performance. From 5772 unique CT scans of 2347 AIS patients (median age 82), 54% had visible AIS lesions according to expert labelling. Our best-performing DL method achieved 72% accuracy for lesion presence and side. Lesions that were larger (80% accuracy) or multiple (87% accuracy for two lesions, 100% for three or more), were better detected. Follow-up scans had 76% accuracy, while baseline scans 67% accuracy. Chronic brain conditions reduced accuracy, particularly non-stroke lesions and old stroke lesions (32% and 31% error rates respectively). DL methods can be designed for AIS lesion detection on CT using the vast quantities of routinely-collected CT brain scan data. Despite the large amount of brain CT data generated in clinical practice, the availability of CT datasets for deep learning (DL) research is currently limited. Furthermore, the data can be insufficiently or improperly prepared for machine learning and thus lead to spurious and irreproducible analyses. This lack of access to comprehensive and diverse datasets poses a significant challenge for the development of DL algorithms. In this work, we propose a complete semi-automatic pipeline to address the challenges of preparing a clinical brain CT dataset for DL analysis and describe the process of standardising this heterogeneous dataset. Challenges include handling image sets with different orientations (axial, sagittal, coronal), different image types (to view soft tissues or bones) and dimensions, and removing redundant background. The final pipeline was able to process 5,868/10,659 (45%) CT image datasets. Reasons for rejection include non-axial data (n=1,920), bone reformats (n=687), separated skull base/vault images (n=1,226), and registration failures (n=465). Further format adjustments, including image cropping, resizing and scaling are also needed for DL processing. Of the axial scans that were not localisers, bone reformats or split brains, 5,868/6,333 (93%) were accepted, while the remaining 465 failed the registration process. The rapidly evolving field of Explainable Artificial Intelligence (XAI) has generated significant interest in developing methods to make AI systems more transparent and understandable. However, the problem of explainability cannot be exhaustively solved in the abstract, as there is no single approach that can be universally applied to generate adequate explanations for any given AI system, and this is especially true in the arts. In this position paper, we propose an Explanatory Pragmatism (EP) framework for XAI in music performance, emphasising the importance of context and audience in the development of explainability requirements. By tailoring explanations to specific audiences and continuously refining them based on feedback, EP offers a promising direction for enhancing the transparency and interpretability of AI systems in broad artistic applications and more specifically to music performance.

Longer wavelength emitters such as green LEDs display a pronounced efficiency drop at higher current densities, resulting in relatively low wall-plug efficiency. Multi-active region approach can improve the wall-plug efficiency significantly and tackle the green gap challenge. This work reports multi-active region p-down LEDs with high external efficiency operating entirely in the green wavelength. Devices were developed using p-down topology, where the PN junction is oriented such that electric fields from depletion and built-in polarization dipoles are aligned. Ga-polar multi-active region green LEDs with excellent voltage and EQE scaling, and significantly higher wall-plug efficiency is demonstrated in this work.

Explainable AI has the potential to support more interactive and fluid co-creative AI systems which can creatively collaborate with people. To do this, creative AI models need to be amenable to debugging by offering eXplainable AI (XAI) features which are inspectable, understandable, and modifiable. However, currently there is very little XAI for the arts. In this work, we demonstrate how a latent variable model for music generation can be made more explainable; specifically we extend MeasureVAE which generates measures of music. We increase the explainability of the model by: i) using latent space regularisation to force some specific dimensions of the latent space to map to meaningful musical attributes, ii) providing a user interface feedback loop to allow people to adjust dimensions of the latent space and observe the results of these changes in real-time, iii) providing a visualisation of the musical attributes in the latent space to help people understand and predict the effect of changes to latent space dimensions. We suggest that in doing so we bridge the gap between the latent space and the generated musical outcomes in a meaningful way which makes the model and its outputs more explainable and more debuggable.

We use numerical simulations of circumplanetary disks to determine the boundary between disks that are radially truncated by the tidal potential, and those where gas escapes the Hill sphere. We consider a model problem, in which a coplanar circumplanetary disk is resupplied with gas at an injection radius smaller than the Hill radius. We evolve the disk using the PHANTOM Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics code until a steady-state is reached. We find that the most significant dependence of the truncation boundary is on the disk aspect ratio $H/R$. Circumplanetary disks are efficiently truncated for $H/R \lesssim 0.2$. For $H/R \simeq 0.3$, up to about half of the injected mass, depending on the injection radius, flows outwards through the decretion disk and escapes. As expected from analytic arguments, the conditions ($H/R$ and Shakura-Sunyaev $\alpha$) required for tidal truncation are independent of planet mass. A simulation with larger $\alpha=0.1$ shows stronger outflow than one with $\alpha=0.01$, but the dependence on transport efficiency is less important than variations of $H/R$. Our results suggest two distinct classes of circumplanetary disks: tidally truncated thin disks with dust-poor outer regions, and thicker actively decreting disks with enhanced dust-to-gas ratios. Applying our results to the PDS 70c system, we predict a largely truncated circumplanetary disk, but it is possible that enough mass escapes to support an outward flow of dust that could explain the observed disk size., Comment: Accepted for publication in ApJ

We show that the distribution of observed accretion rates is a powerful diagnostic of protoplanetary disc physics. Accretion due to turbulent ("viscous") transport of angular momentum results in a fundamentally different distribution of accretion rates than accretion driven by magnetised disc winds. We find that a homogeneous sample of $\gtrsim$300 observed accretion rates would be sufficient to distinguish between these two mechanisms of disc accretion at high confidence, even for pessimistic assumptions. Current samples of T Tauri star accretion rates are not this large, and also suffer from significant inhomogeneity, so both viscous and wind-driven models are broadly consistent with the existing observations. If accretion is viscous, the observed accretion rates require low rates of disc photoevaporation ($\lesssim$$10^{-9}$M$_{\odot}$yr$^{-1}$). Uniform, homogeneous surveys of stellar accretion rates can therefore provide a clear answer to the long-standing question of how protoplanetary discs accrete., Comment: 10 pages, 8 figures. Diffusion MRI (dMRI) is a widely used imaging modality, but requires long scanning times to acquire high resolution datasets. By leveraging the unique geometry present within this domain, we present a novel approach to dMRI angular super-resolution that extends upon the parametric continuous convolution (PCConv) framework. We introduce several additions to the operation including a Fourier feature mapping, global coordinates, and domain specific context. Using this framework, we build a fully parametric continuous convolution network (PCCNN) and compare against existing models. We demonstrate the PCCNN performs competitively while using significantly less parameters. Moreover, we show that this formulation generalises well to clinically relevant downstream analyses such as fixel-based analysis, and neurite orientation dispersion and density imaging.

Young protostellar discs are likely to be both self-gravitating, and to support grain growth to sizes where the particles decoupled from the gas. This combination could lead to short-wavelength fragmentation of the solid component in otherwise non-fragmenting gas discs, forming Earth-mass solid cores during the Class 0/I stages of Young Stellar Object evolution. We use three-dimensional smoothed particle hydrodynamics simulations of two-fluid discs, in the regime where the Stokes number of the particles St>1, to study how the formation of solid clumps depends on the disc-to-star mass ratio, the strength of gravitational instability, and the Stokes number. Gravitational instability of the simulated discs is sustained by local cooling. We find that the ability of the spiral structures to concentrate solids increases with the cooling time, and decreases with the Stokes number, while the relative dynamical temperature between gas and dust of the particles decreases with the cooling time and the disc-to-star mass ratio, and increases with the Stokes number. Dust collapse occurs in a subset of high disc mass simulations, yielding clumps whose mass is close to linear theory estimates, namely 1-10 Earth masses. Our results suggest that if planet formation occurs via this mechanism, the best conditions correspond to near the end of the self-gravitating phase, when the cooling time is long and the Stokes number close to unity., Comment: Accepted for publication in MNRAS, 20 pages

Automatic analysis of customer data for businesses is an area that is of interest to companies. Business to business data is studied rarely in academia due to the sensitive nature of such information. Applying natural language processing can speed up the analysis of prohibitively large sets of data. This paper addresses this subject and applies sentiment analysis, topic modelling and keyword extraction to a B2B data set. We show that accurate sentiment can be extracted from the notes automatically and the notes can be sorted by relevance into different topics. We see that without clear separation topics can lack relevance to a business context.
