Internal auditors exposed to a business environment which uses networks should equip themselves with the necessary skills to conduct a network audit. Such a procedure should take into account the complexity that networks have brought into the EDP system as a price to pay for the increase in corporate efficiency. The auditor has to test the network's security through a careful evaluation of the organizational structure and all control mechanisms employed.
