Background: Tuberculosis-diabetes mellitus (TB-DM) is a co-epidemic condition representing a double burden for high TB burden countries like Indonesia. Private primary care (PPC) in Indonesia was newly reintroduced to the TB program. Aims: This study explores the challenges PPC healthcare workers (HCWs) face in implementing TB-DM bi-directional screening and strategies to improve it. Methods: An explorative qualitative method was used by conducting two-round focus group discussions (FGDs) with HCWs (n=15) from five private clinics in Yogyakarta Special Region Province Indonesia and triangulated with 10 DM patients and the TB program manager from the provincial health office. The data were audio recorded, transcribed verbatim, and subjected to thematic analysis. Results: HCWs face complex barriers in TB-DM co-screening implementation from patients, HCWs, and health system aspects. An integrated system to remind, support decision-making, report, reduce documentation duplication, monitor, and evaluate co-screening implementation emerged as a potential strategy, although some challenges to deploy. Conclusion: Albeit HIS is promising in enhancing integrated TB-DM screening and management, a comprehensive approach and multisector roles are still needed to overcome impediments to TB-DM bidirectional screening in PPCs. Background: Surveys on patient safety in dialysis units uncover a range of significant patient safety issues. Hemodialysis centers are particularly vulnerable to adverse events due to a number of risk factors, such as machine malfunctions, excessive blood loss, patient falls, prescription errors, and inadequate infection control procedures. Aim: Analyze the problem of implementing patient safety goals and describe the patients' satisfaction with the implementation of patient safety goals. Methods: This study employs a concurrent embedded methodology with a mixed-methods design, utilizing quantitative data to complement the qualitative data. Applying the focus group discussion (FGD) technique, questionnaires and observations of hemodialysis patients' satisfaction with implementing patient safety goals were utilized to complete the data collection. Results: According to the patient satisfaction survey, two patients were worried that their dialyzer tubes had been mixed up, earning a negative score of 5.13%. 23.07% of patients had negative results on the infection prevention risk questionnaire; 3 patients (7.69%) only seldom cleaned their hands before starting dialysis, and 6 patients (15.38%) did not. Conclusion: The implementation of patients' identification and the reduction of infection risk through hand hygiene have not been carried out consistently, concerning patient safety goals in the hemodialysis unit. Health workers’ awareness can affect hospital fall prevention success. Enhancing awareness can be achieved by exploring their perspectives on the phenomenon. This study aims to explore health workers’ perceptions regarding fall risk prevention in hospitals. This study employed qualitative methods using photovoice. The participants were 20 health workers. The data collection was done within several steps, such as (1) The photographs of fall prevention were collected at 5 different hospitals within 3 months; (2) 20 photos were selected to be shown in the photo exhibition; (3) Participants were asked to reflect on the meaning of the photographs during photo exhibition, individually through Google Form and interview using SHOWED guidelines. This study identified 4 themes, including (1) the importance of fall risk identification, including environmental and physiological identification and the use of the appropriate assessment instrument based on age range; (2) the role of family and patient education, but does not guarantee that those who are educated have better attention; (3) involvement of nonhealthcare workers, such as security guide's contribution to identify patients; (4) application of fall protection and signs is crucial stuff to be applied in an appropriate way to prevent patients from falls. Health workers encountered both positive and negative aspects related to fall prevention strategies in hospital settings. Health workers’ perspectives can be considered by stakeholders to help improve hospital fall prevention regulations.

Background Dental pulp inflammation, often initiated by Gram-negative microorganisms and lipopolysaccharides (LPS), can lead to pulpitis and, subsequently, dental pulp necrosis, compromising tooth structure and increasing susceptibility to fracture. Asiatic acid, derived from Centella asiatica, has demonstrated pharmacological properties, including anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects, making it a potential candidate for mitigating LPS-induced pulp inflammation. This in vivo study aims to investigate the impact of Asiatic acid on the nuclear factor erythroid 2-related factor 2 (Nrf2) pathway in Rattus norvegicus with LPS-induced pulp inflammation. Methods This quasi-laboratory experimental in vivo study employed a post-test-only control group design to investigate the effects of Asiatic acid on LPS-induced pulp inflammation in Wistar rats. Thirty rats were randomly divided into six groups subjected to various interventions. LPS was administered to all groups for 6 h except the standard control group (CG, n = 5). The negative control group (NCG, n = 5) received only glass ionomer cement. The positive control group (PCG, n = 5) received Eugenol with glass ionomer cement. Intervention groups 1, 2, and 3 (IG1, IG2, IG3; n = 5 each) received Asiatic acid at concentrations of 0.5%, 1%, and 2%, respectively, with glass ionomer cement. Dental pulp inflammation was confirmed through immunological (tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-α) levels), histopathological (inflammatory parameters), and physiological (pain assessment using the rat grimace scale) analyses. Additionally, Nrf2 levels were examined using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Results Asiatic acid administration significantly influenced Nrf2 levels in rats with LPS-induced pulp inflammation. Nrf2 levels were significantly higher in groups treated with 0.5% (IG1) (8.810 ± 1.092 ng/mL; p = 0.047), 1.0% (IG2) (9.132 ± 1.285 ng/mL; p = 0.020), and 2.0% (IG3) (11.972 ± 1.888 ng/mL; p = 0.000) Asiatic acid compared to NCG (7.146 ± 0.706). Notably, Nrf2 levels were also significantly higher in the 2.0% Asiatic acid group (IG3) compared to the PCG treated with Eugenol (8.846 ± 0.888 ng/mL; p = 0.001), as well as IG1 (p = 0.001) and IG2 (p = 0.002). However, no significant difference was observed between administering 0.5% Asiatic acid (IG1), 1.0% Asiatic acid (IG2), and Eugenol (PCG). Conclusion This research showed that Asiatic acid significantly impacted the Nrf2 levels in rats with LPS-induced pulp inflammation. This suggests that it has the potential to be used as a therapeutic agent for reducing dental pulp inflammation. These findings support the need to further explore Asiatic acid as a promising intervention for maintaining dental pulp health.

Saltwater fish powder has proven lack of toxicity. Abstract Many nutrients found in saltwater fish are thought to promote amelogenesis in ameloblast cells during tooth development. Although its toxicity is uncertain, saltwater fish powder provided benefits for amelogenesis. Zebrafish embryos have complex metabolic pathways and comprehensive physiological reactions. The LC50 toxicity of saltwater fish powder on zebrafish embryos was investigated in this study. The aim of the of the study is to determine the effect of LC50 toxicity on saltwater fish powder on zebrafish embryos. The experimental research method was a post-test-only control group design, consisting of eight groups, namely the negative control and the internal group using embryo media, the positive control using 3,4-dichloroanillin, and the treatment group 125μg / ml, 250μg / ml, 500μg / ml, 1000μg / ml, 2000μg / ml, and 4000μg / ml using 384 zebrafish embryos. Saltwater fish powder is diluted and observed for 96 hours, controlled every 24 hours. It was found that saltwater fish powder was not toxic because there were no dead zebrafish embryos from various concentrations, negative control, and internal control.

Tujuan kegiatan ini adalah untuk memberikan pelatihan dan paket teknologi perbaikan manajemen pemeliharaan, restricted feeding, pengetahuan bahan pakan, teknologi untuk memproduksi pakan itik yang berbasis pakan lokal, dalam rangka meningkatkan pendapatan peternak. Mitra yang dilibatkan dalam kegiatan ini adalah “ Kelompok Ternak Itik “Usaha Baru” yang melakukan budidaya itik petelur dan pedaging.. Muara akhir dari kegiatan ini adalah peningkatan pproduksi telur, peningkatan produktifitas, efisiensi biaya pakan dalam rangka pengembangan dan peningkatan pendapatan peternak sekaligus membentuk/mengembangkan kelompok mitra yang mandiri secara ekonomi. Metode yang digunakan dalam program pengabdian ini yaitu penyuluhan, peragaan, pelatihan, pembinaan dan pemberian paket teknologi, sekaligus pengamatan dan evaluasi dan pengambilan data untuk mengukur parameter keberhasilan dari program yang dijalankan. Hasil kegiatan ini adalah peternak sangat antusias dalam mengikuti kegiatan ini, hampir 80% persen peternak paham dengan manajemen feeding sesuai dengan kebutuhan pakan ternak berdasarkan tingkat umur baik secara kualitas maupun kuantitas. Ransum uji coba yang dususun oleh peternak sangat jauh dari kualitas yang seharusnya. Peningkatan produksi telur dapat dilakukan dengan penyusunan ransum ternak itik dengan meningkatkan kadar protein hewani dan mineral dalam ransum. Kesimpulan kegiatan ini adalah peningkatan pendapatan peternak melalui manajemen feeding practice dapat dilakukan dengan menekan biaya produksi dengan ransum yang disusun sendiri oleh peternak bersumberkan bahan pakan lokal dengan hargapakan Rp. 6000,-/kg.

Objetivo: Evaluar los factores que influyen en la adherencia al tratamiento de los pacientes con enfermedad renal crónica, en el servicio de consulta externa de nefrología de un hospital de Tlaxcala. Material y Método: Se realizó un estudio descriptivo de corte transversal con una muestra de 80 pacientes que asisten al consultorio de nefrología. Mediante un cuestionario validado, se determinaron los factores que influyen en el paciente para mantenerse en la adherencia al tratamiento farmacológica y no farmacológica. Resultados: Se muestra un nivel de riesgo moderado de adherencia al tratamiento en la población estudiada, el 8.8% de los pacientes se adhieren al tratamiento, el 58.8% tienen un riesgo moderado de no adherirse al tratamiento, y el 32.5% tienen alto riesgo de no adherirse al tratamiento, siendo sus principales causas la carencia de recursos económicos (65%), no conocer cuál es su peso seco (61.3%), seguir un régimen dietético de alto costo (60%), dificultad para realizar un cambio en el estilo de vida (38.8%), y no recibir la información sobre los beneficios de los medicamentos (8.8%). Conclusiones: La falta de recursos económicos y la falta de información, son los principales factores que influyen en la no adherencia al tratamiento farmacológico y no farmacológico. El profesional de enfermería debe brindar información clara, completa y útil a fin de mejorar el apego al tratamiento y disminuir costos y complicaciones en la ERC. Es necesario buscar estrategias educativas, conductuales, y el apoyo social y familiar, debido a sus condiciones socioeconómicas, y el apego a hábitos que no son de beneficio para su estado de salud. Background: A Sharia Hospital in Central Java of Indonesia had previously used a balanced scorecard (BSC) to assess hospital performance. However, BSC has not been integrated into the hospital's strategic management process. Purpose: This study aims to develop a Sharia Hospital’s strategic plan by adopting a BSC integrated into Islamic values. Design/methodology/approach: A qualitative study was conducted involving a Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats (SWOT) analysis with 10 respondents and focus group discussions with 11 strategic planning teams. Findings/Result: The results indicate that the hospital has completed several stages of developing a strategic plan, including defining the hospital's vision and mission, conducting a SWOT analysis, and formulating strategic objectives. Moreover, BSC has been implemented into the hospital's strategic planning process, particularly in formulating strategic objectives aligned with Islamic values. This reveals that the BSC has been integrated into the hospital’s strategic management process. Conclusion: The result of this study provides a reference for a Sharia Hospital to adopt BSC aligned with Islamic values in the preparation of a hospital strategic plan. By integrating Islamic values into BSC, the hospital can formulate and implement strategies and evaluate the hospital's performance more comprehensively and measurable, covering financial and non-financial performance while promoting Islamic values. Originality/value (State of the art): Developing a strategic plan using the BSC is commonly conducted, but integrating Islamic values into the BSC perspective is still relatively uncommon. Hence, this study contributes significantly to hospital strategic management practices, particularly in Sharia hospitals. This paper discusses the effectiveness of mobile instant messaging (MIM) Line in supporting a blended learning model and elaborates students' opinion regarding the limitations of the MIM. A total of 62 pre-service physics teachers were enrolled in an introductory physics course. Line-supported blended learning was implemented in an experiment group whereas learning management system (LMS)- based blended learning was as the control group. Data were collected through test, questionnaire, and interview. The test and questionnaire consisted of 20 multiple choice questions and five open-ended questions, respectively. Meanwhile, the interview was a semi-structured interview performed through a focus group interview. The analysis results have given the information that there is no significant difference in the overall improvement of learning outcomes between the two groups. However, students in experiment group have significantly higher improvement of analysis skills than their counterparts in control group.

The community engagement team of the Animal Science Faculty of Andalas University conducted community services in the Animal Feed Ration Business group in Jorong Batang Sarik, Nagari Katapiang, Batang Anai District, Padang Pariaman Regency. The problems in the target group were 1) the business group still needs to get a permit to do business, and 2) it still needs to gain skills in processing feed for cattle based on agricultural waste. The activity aimed to assist business groups in obtaining Business Permit Numbers (BPN) and transferring agricultural waste-based feed technology for beef cattle. The transfer of knowledge and technology in service activities was carried out by mentoring, demonstration, and training methods regularly and continuously. The action resulted that the target group having a business permit in the form of BPN and the business group having knowledge and skills in producing feed for beef cattle in the form of Complete Ration Silage (CRS) based on corn straw.

Itik Bayang merupakan salah satu plasma nutfah ternak unggas Sumatera barat yang telah ditetapkan berdasarkan Kepmentan 2012, No 2835/Ktsp/Lb. 430. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengindetifikasi keragaman karakter kualitatif dan morfometrik itik Bayang sebagai dasar untuk pengembanngan dan pelestariannya. Jumlah sampel yang digunakan pada penelitian ini untuk morfometrik 130 itik Bayang yang sudah dewasa kelamin yang terdiri dari 100 ekor itik betina dan 30 ekor itik jantan. Sedangkan untuk karakter kualitatif sebanyak 617 ekor itik Bayang dewasa kelamin yang terdiri dari 576 ekor itik betina dan 41 ekor itik jantan. Data penelitian diambil dari 19 peternak di Kecamatan Bayang Kabupaten Pesisir Selatan. Peubah yang diamati untuk karakter kualitatif yang sesuai dengan Kepmentan dan morfometrik. Analisis data yang dilakukan adalah analisis statistik deskriptif dengan menghitung rataan, standar deviasi dan koefisien keragaman dan persentase. Hasil penelitian menunujjan karakter kualitatif itik Bayang memiliki persentase fenotipe berkisar antara 43,90-93,23%. Karakter kualitatif yang dapat di klasifikasikan sesuai dengan Kepmentan 2012 adalah pada itik jantan warna bulu bagian kepala, warna bulu dada dan warna bulu punggung coklat tua. Itik Bayang betina memiliki frekuensi fenotipe kualitatif yang sesuai >75%. Keragaman morfometrik itik Bayang berkisar antara rendah dan tinggi Koefisien keragaman yang tertinggi pada bobot badan itik betina sebesar 15,17%. Sedangkan itik Bayang jantan panjang punggung sebesar 14,12 %.

The mRNA-seq data analysis is a powerful technology for inferring information from biological systems of interest. Specifically, the sequenced RNA fragments are aligned with genomic reference sequences, and we count the number of sequence fragments corresponding to each gene for each condition. A gene is identified as differentially expressed (DE) if the difference in its count numbers between conditions is statistically significant. Several statistical analysis methods have been developed to detect DE genes based on RNA-seq data. However, the existing methods could suffer decreasing power to identify DE genes arising from overdispersion and limited sample size, where overdispersion refers to the empirical phenomenon that the variance of read counts is larger than the mean of read counts. We propose a new differential expression analysis procedure: heterogeneous overdispersion genes testing (DEHOGT) based on heterogeneous overdispersion modeling and a post-hoc inference procedure. DEHOGT integrates sample information from all conditions and provides a more flexible and adaptive overdispersion modeling for the RNA-seq read count. DEHOGT adopts a gene-wise estimation scheme to enhance the detection power of differentially expressed genes when the number of replicates is limited as long as the number of conditions is large. DEHOGT is tested on the synthetic RNA-seq read count data and outperforms two popular existing methods, DESeq2 and EdgeR, in detecting DE genes. We apply the proposed method to a test dataset using RNAseq data from microglial cells. DEHOGT tends to detect more differently expressed genes potentially related to microglial cells under different stress hormones treatments.

Bamboo leaves, a readily available agricultural waste globally, serve as a valuable source of organic silica, often referred to as biosilica. Despite containing a substantial silicon dioxide (SiO2) content, bamboo leaves are frequently discarded by communities. Remarkably, the silica content in bamboo leaves exceeds 70%. Acid leaching is employed to extract the silica, with various factors and types of acids being compared in the process. The resulting silica is highly porous and firmly bonded. The extracted silica's purity, amorphous nature, and the presence of functional groups have been verified through XRD and FTIR studies. Additionally, TGA is utilized to monitor the material's weight changes with increasing temperature.

Vocabulary mastery is a skill that refers to a high level of proficiency in processing words in a language. The students at the tenth grade of SMK Negeri 1 Gunungsitoli lacked vocabulary mastery, so they found it difficulty to understand texts properly and did not achieve the minimum competency criteria (MMC) that has been set at school. The purpose of this study was to improve the students' ability to vocabulary mastery. In improving students' vocabulary mastery, the researcher used Word Cloud and applied it in Classroom Action Research (CAR). This research was conducted in Cycle II, there were four steps in conducting research, namely: planning, action, observation and reflection. . In Cycle I, there was no student who was classified in "very good level", there were two students (5.72%) in "good level". Instead of that, there were 19 students (54.28%) in "fair level", 14 students (40%) in "poor level". In addition, the average of the students' mark was 53.00. The results show that many students were at enough and less levels so it really needed to be improved in the next cycle. In Cycle II, there was 1 student (2.86 ) in “poor level”, there were 7 students (20%) in “fair level”, there were 6 students (17.14%) in “good level”, and 22 students ( 62.86 % ) in “very good level”. In addition, the average of the students' mark was 86.42. The students' average mark was higher than the MMC that was 75. Based on the explanation above, it is concluded that the Word Cloud can improve the students' vocabulary mastery at the tenth grade of SMK Negeri 1 Gunungsitoli in 2022/2023. Background: The limited accessibility of healthcare facilities contributes to delays, resulting in an increased risk of maternal mortality. One crucial strategy for improving access to care is the implementation of standardized Maternity Waiting Homes (MWH). This study aims to identify strategies for enhancing the MWH program's effectiveness in remote areas. Methods: This research is implementation research using a mixed-method approach. Focus group discussions and in-depth interviews were conducted among stakeholders and health workers to explore barriers and attitudes in implementing MWH. The quantitative data collection with a cross-sectional design was conducted to identify the use of MWH by pregnant women and families. A quasi-experimental method with a pre-test and post-test control group design was performed to implement a collaborative empowerment model of Community Health Workers (CHW) and midwives. Results: This study revealed that the utilization of the MWH program by the community was deficient. This was attributed to the lack of knowledge regarding MWH among pregnant women and families, the distances between residences and the MWH, high costs, and a shortage of MWH healthcare providers. After implementing a collaborative model, there were three times improvements in knowledge (Rs = 0.26, P-value = 0.032) and willingness to utilize MWH (P-value = 0.037) among pregnant women in the intervention group. Conclusion: Implementing a collaborative empowerment model of CHW and midwives has enhanced knowledge acquisition and utilization of MWH among pregnant women. This approach ought to be utilized to improve MWH or health facility utilization, particularly in specific locations.

This research is intended to collect the student's perceptions as candidates for pai in the digital age. The focus of the study is student perceptions, challenges, and the role of pai student in the digital age. The research methods used are qualitative with a descriptive study approach. The techniques used to collect data are observation, interviews, and documentation. Next, to analyze the data using the miles and huberman techniques of data reduction, data presentation, and deduction. As a result of this study, being a pai teacher in the digital age has been difficult because it has to face challenges such as scientific development and a moral crisis. As for the efforts that can be made, students must be digital literacy, innovating varying methods and media, following the growth of curriculum, and preparing materials according to the original sources.

Abstract Background COVID-19 is a global threat that directly impacts people’s mental health and physical well-being. This study explored the efforts and expectations of pregnant women against the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. Methods This study was a qualitative study that used a phenomenological approach. The informants of this study were pregnant women (n = 20). Data analysis used content analysis with software assistance (Nvivo Release 1.5). Results The results of this study identified three themes which were: 1) causative factors of pregnant women’s anxiety regarding the impact of COVID-19 including lack of knowledge regarding the impact of the COVID-19 virus and perceived susceptibility; 2) Efforts to reduce anxiety during the COVID-19 pandemic including a spiritual approach, the role of family and COVID-19 prevention; and 3) Expectation regarding healthcare services during COVID-19 including virtual based Antenatal Care (ANC) Services and Private ANC Services. Conclusion A spiritual approach, the role of family, and COVID-19 prevention will help pregnant women reduce their anxiety about being infected with the COVID-19 virus. Furthermore, virtual-based ANC Services, and private ANC services, such as home visits and dividing ANC services and general services into two different tracks as a protective mechanism from being infected with the COVID-19 virus, would assist pregnant women feel safer and secure.

Model pembelajaran di era merdeka belajar adalah Project Based Learning (PjBL) fokus pada proyek dan melibatkan siswa secara aktif. Pembelajaran lintas minat perlu diwaspadai ditambah tugas yang berlebih (courseload) sehingga merasa jenuh. Tujuan penelitiannya untuk mengetahui pengaruh PjBL terhadap Learning Plateau mata pelajaran lintas minat era merdeka belajar. Desain penelitian adalah eksperimen Posttest Only Design. Populasinya 4 kelas XI IPS dengan jumlah 124 siswa. Sampelnya secara cluster random sampling, berjumlah 62 siswa. Instrumen adalah skala Learning Plateau. Hasil Uji Hipotesis menunjukkan ada perbedaan signifikan Learning Plateau antara eksperimen dengan kontrol. Memiliki pengaruh Model PjBL terhadap Learning Plateau sebesar 5,99%. Learning Plateau Eksperimen lebih rendah daripada kontrol, menunjukkan hipotesis penelitian terbukti/diterima. Uji Mann Whitney U Test, menunjukkan ada perbedaan signifikan prestasi belajar Fisika antara eksperimen dengan kontrol. Nilai Fisika eksperimen lebih tinggi dari kontrol, artinya Model PjBL berpengaruh terhadap prestasi belajar Fisika siswa. Kata kunci: Kejenuhan Belajar, Model Project Based Learning, Lintas Minat

The production costs and energy conversion efficiency of dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSC) is strongly influenced by the types of dyes used to harvest photons. Natural dyes extracted from different pigments are emerged as a potential dye to enhance the efficiency of DSSC due to their merit properties such as low cost, biodegradable and less environmental concern. Natural pigments were derived from Eleiodoxa conferta (E. conferta) and Spinacia oleracea (S. oleracea) and formation of a mixture of these extracts in (1:1) volume ratio. The dihybrid extract displayed a diverse UV-vis absorption spectrum of 530–550 nm with maximum absorption at ~539 nm. The optical features of the harvested dyes and the photovoltaic productivity of the cells have been explored. The photovoltaic output of the dihybrid delivered the best findings with open-circuit voltage (VOC), short-circuit current density (JSC), fill factor (FF) and energy conversion efficiency values of 0.35 V, 5.83 mA/cm2, 0.63 and 1.29 % respectively.

Abstract: Service quality is essential in health institutions that can affect patient satisfaction and loyalty. The growth in the number of patients at Dr. Soetomo General Academic Hospital, Surabaya, Indonesia, triggered the diversification of services that require periodic quality control. This study aims at describing a model of andragogical development implemented by the leaders of Toriqoh Naqsabandiyah Jabal Qubis to empower their followers’ spirit to work. It is conducted at the non-formal institution of Naqsabandiyah Jabal Qubis by using phenomenological qualitative approach. The data of this research consist of the results of observation, deep interview, and focus group discussion. The data sources of this study are the top leader, the big chaliph, the old chaliph, and the young caliph. The data were analysed by the Miles, Huberman, and Saldana’s (2014) technique namely data condensation, data display, dan verification. The trustworthiness of this study is established through source and methodological triangulations. The findings of this research show that a model of andragogical development in empowering the followers’ spirit is applied through 4 steps : planning, developing, evaluating, doing follow-up, as well as their impacts.

Background: COVID-19 cases surge, it has a crucial impact on healthcare systems, with rapidly increasing demand for healthcare resources in hospitals and intensive care units (ICUs) in Indonesia and worldwide. It is necessary to quantify the extent to which the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on the hospital admissions, and clinical and financial outcomes of patients with non-COVID-19 respiratory symptoms. Objective: To determine whether the COVID-19 pandemic changed the hospitalisation of child and adult patients with non-COVID-19 respiratory conditions and whether these changes affected the patient's disease condition, clinical outcomes, and hospital finances. Methods: A retrospective cohort study was conducted from May 1, 2018 (before the COVID-19 pandemic) until December 31, 2021. Total sampling was done to compare hospital admission of patients with non-COVID-19 respiratory symptoms before versus during the COVID-19 pandemic. The results were analyzed using SPSS 26.0 and SmartPLS.v.3.2.9. Results: There was a reduction in hospitalisations for respiratory disorders unrelated to COVID-19 during the pandemic by 55.3% in children and 47.8% in adult patients. During the pandemic, the average hospital revenue per patient of child and adult patients increased significantly, but the profit per patient decreased. This research found that unveiled that students’ lack of motivation, ability in English, teachers’ readiness, and time made it difficult for the application of the Treffinger learning model.

Methods for Developing Social Intelligence in Learning Al-Qur'an and Hadith at An-Nursali Binjai Islamic Boarding School, North Sumatra Social intelligence is a good potential in children and is the main capital to gain success in life. The importance of social intelligence for children is the focus of this research, so this study aims to find the methods used by teachers to develop social intelligence in learning Al-Qur'an and Hadith, and explain the reasons teachers use these methods. This study uses a phenomenological qualitative method which aims to analyze the phenomenon and its context. The phenomenon analyzed is the development of social intelligence in learning Al-Qur'an Hadith at An-Nursali Binjai Islamic Boarding School which consists of developing learning inside and outside the classroom. The social intelligence of students is developed through exemplary methods, habituation, punishment, giving advice for students who violate the rules, and halaqah activities. According to the teacher, the use of this method gives students the opportunity to dig up information and ask questions related to the subject matter. In addition, the material discussed is not only memorizing verses of the Qur'an and performing worship (hablumminallah) but also discussing muamalah (hablumminannas), so that students' social intelligence can be fostered cognitively, affectively and psychomotorically based on Allah's commands in the Qur'an

Health workers' awareness can affect hospital fall prevention success. Enhancing awareness can be achieved by exploring their perspectives on the phenomenon. This study aims to explore health workers' perceptions regarding fall risk prevention in hospitals. This study employed qualitative methods using photovoice. The participants were 20 health workers. The data collection was done within several steps, such as (1) The photographs of fall prevention were collected at 5 different hospitals within 3 months; (2) 20 photos were selected to be shown in the photo exhibition; (3) Participants were asked to reflect on the meaning of the photographs during photo exhibition, individually through Google Form and interview using SHOWED guidelines. This study identified 4 themes, including (1) the importance of fall risk identification, including environmental and physiological identification and the use of the appropriate assessment instrument based on age range; (2) the role of family and patient education, but does not guarantee that those who are educated have better attention; (3) involvement of nonhealthcare workers, such as security guide's contribution to identify patients; (4) application of fall protection and signs is crucial stuff to be applied in an appropriate way to prevent patients from falls. Health workers encountered both positive and negative aspects related to fall prevention strategies in hospital settings. Background: Dental pulp inflammation, often initiated by Gram-negative microorganisms and lipopolysaccharides (LPS), can lead to pulpitis and, subsequently, dental pulp necrosis, compromising tooth structure and increasing susceptibility to fracture. Asiatic acid, derived from Centella asiatica, has demonstrated pharmacological properties, including anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects, making it a potential candidate for mitigating LPS-induced pulp inflammation. This in vivo study aims to investigate the impact of Asiatic acid on the nuclear factor erythroid 2-related factor 2 (Nrf2) pathway in Rattus norvegicus with LPS-induced pulp inflammation. Methods: This quasi-laboratory experimental in vivo study employed a post-test-only control group design to investigate the effects of Asiatic acid on LPS-induced pulp inflammation in Wistar rats. Thirty rats were randomly divided into six groups subjected to various interventions. LPS was administered to all groups for 6 h except the standard control group (CG, n = 5). The negative control group (NCG, n = 5) received only glass ionomer cement. The positive control group (PCG, n = 5) received Eugenol with glass ionomer cement. Intervention groups 1, 2, and 3 (IG1, IG2, IG3; n = 5 each) received Asiatic acid at concentrations of 0.5%, 1%, and 2%, respectively, with glass ionomer cement. Dental pulp inflammation was confirmed through immunological (tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-α) levels), histopathological (inflammatory parameters), and physiological (pain assessment using the rat grimace scale) analyses. Additionally, Nrf2 levels were examined using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Results: Asiatic acid administration significantly influenced Nrf2 levels in rats with LPS-induced pulp inflammation. Nrf2 levels were significantly higher in groups treated with 0.5% (IG1) (8.810 ± 1.092 ng/mL; p = 0.047), 1.0% (IG2) (9.132 ± 1.285 ng/mL; p = 0.020), and 2.0% (IG3) (11.972 ± 1.888 ng/mL; p = 0.000) Asiatic acid compared to NCG (7.146 ± 0.706). Notably, Nrf2 levels were also significantly higher in the 2.0% Asiatic acid group (IG3) compared to the PCG treated with Eugenol (8.846 ± 0.888 ng/mL; p = 0.001), as well as IG1 (p = 0.001) and IG2 (p = 0.002). However, no significant difference was observed between administering 0.5% Asiatic acid (IG1), 1.0% Asiatic acid (IG2), and Eugenol (PCG). Conclusion: This research showed that Asiatic acid significantly impacted the Nrf2 levels in rats with LPS-induced pulp inflammation. This suggests that it has the potential to be used as a therapeutic agent for reducing dental pulp inflammation. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian tepung daun sirih (Piper betle Linn.) sebagai pakan aditif terhadap performan, intake protein, laju pertumbuhan, dan Income over cost (IOFC) itik Kamang. Penelitian ini menggunakan 80 ekor DOD itik Kamang jantan. Perlakuan dimulai pada umur 3 minggu sampai dengan umur 8 minggu. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen dengan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) 4 perlakuan dan 5 ulangan terdiri dari A (pakan dengan tepung daun sirih 0%), B (pakan dengan tepung daun sirih 1%), C (pakan dengan tepung daun sirih 2%), dan D (pakan dengan tepung daun sirih 3%). Peubah yang diukur pada penelitian ini adalah performan, konsumsi protein, laju pertumbuhan, dan IOFC. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa tingkat pemberian tepung daun sirih sampai 3% tidak berpengaruh nyata (P>0,05) terhadap performa itik Kamang jantan. Sedangkan Income Over Feed Cost (IOFC) tertinggi terdapat pada perlakuan B (ransum mengandung 1% tepung daun sirih) yaitu sebesar Rp. 17150,5. Dari hasil penelitian ini bahwa pemberian tepung daun sirih dalam pakan sampai level 3% mempengaruhi konsumsi protein dan laju pertumbuhan itik. Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah penambahan tepung daun sirih (Piper betle Linn.) dalam pakan pada taraf (1%) menghasilkan performans yang paling baik.

As many of recent study showed that e-marketing activities lead into higher marketing performance such as sales, we believe that e-marketing should be evaluated in terms of its negative impact on marketing practices. This study aimed to evaluate e-marketing exposure and its impact on consumer behavior. Although we believed that marketing could lead a better purchase experience and sales, this study proposed that marketing could also lead into regretful experience to customers. In order to evaluate the regret model in online shopping activities, we proposed a behavioral model based on e-marketing exposure. In total, 400 participants were used in this study. Totally, 363 had regretful experience on online market and used in this study indicating 90.75% data used in this study. Data were collected through questionnaires given to online consumer. Data were analyzed through SEM-PLS as we employ 4-point forced likert scale, which lead to non-parametric analysis. As a result, we found that the excessive marketing exposure ultimately led to higher regret level to the customers. It is true that e-marketing exposure led to desirable behavior such as more rational at evaluating price and shaping a good image and perception toward the products; however, it also led to higher chance for impulsive buying behavior. This behavior led to purchasing regret. As we want to avoid regret as many as possible due to sustainable purchase and growth in the future, we must control e-marketing exposure so that it will not lead to regret on customers.

Penelitian ini bertujuan mengindetifikasi keragaman fenotipe kualitatif dan kuantitatif itik Kamang di Provinsi Sumatera Barat. Sampel yang digunakan adalah 250 ekor itik Kamang, yang terdiri dari 200 ekor betina dan 50 ekor jantan. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah purpossive sampling, yaitu sampel diambilan dari ternak itik Kamang yang sudah dewasa kelamin. Sampel diambil dari 42 peternak yang ada di Kecamatan Tilatang Kamang Kabupaten Agam. Hasil pengamatan menunjukkan fenotipe kualitatif itik Kamang memiliki warna bulu yang didominasi warna cokelat, warna shank dan paruh hitam, serta memiliki ciri khas berupa adanya cincin putih di leher dan garis putih di atas mata. Itik Kamang memiliki keragaman fenotipe kuantitatif yang rendah pada panjang paruh (betina), lebar paruh (jantan), panjang punggung (jantan), dan lingkar dada (jantan), dan keragaman fenotipe kuantitatif yang sedang pada bobot badan, panjang paruh (jantan), lebar paruh (betina), panjang paruh (betina), panjang leher, panjang punggung (betina), lingkar dada (betina), panjang sayap, panjang femur, panjang tibia, dan lebar tulang pelvis (betina). Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan fenotipe kualitatif itik Kamang memiliki nilai frekuensi fenotipe antara 50-100%, dan keragaman fenotipe kuantitatif itik Kamang berkisar antara rendah dan sedang dengan nilai koefisien keragaman antara 3,44-14,46%.

The potentials of mobile learning in teaching academic writing skills for ESL students are explored in this paper. Although there have been studies on MALL to improve writing skills, academic writing was never really touched. Few aspects are covered like the changes in educational technology, defining MALL, identifying issues in academic writing by ESL students, approaches used in academic writing and pedagogical approaches used in MALL. Through the discussions, it is proved that mobile learning can be integrated into academic writing by using it with several writing approaches which complements the pedagogical advantages in mobile devices. Based on past studies and the discussion, it can be concluded that the potential of mobile learning in teaching ESL academic writing is high.

Itik Pitalah merupakan plasma nutfah Sumatera Barat telah ditetapkan rumpunnya melalui Kepmen No. 293/kpts/OT.140/6/2011. Konsekuensi penetapan tersebut dipandang penting menjaga populasi dan kemurnian Itik Pitalah melalui aktivitas seleksi tetua dan budidaya Itik Pitalah di Kecamatan Batipuh sebagai daerah insitu Itik Pitalah. Tujuan kegiatan ini adalah pengembangan, budidaya dan pengolahan pasca panen Itik Pitalah untuk meningkatkan pendapatan masyarakat. Metode yang digunakan meliputi pembekalan mahasiswa, sosialisasi kegiatan dan perancangan rencana kerja dan lokakarya rencana kegiatan. Kegiatan ini melibatkan 30 mahasiswa Unand. Hasil Pelaksanaan kegiatan yaitu menetaskan telur yang dihasilkan dari induk produktif dari flock yang dibuat berdasarkan ciri-ciri Itik Pitalah, hasil penetasan dibudidayakan secara intensif agar mortalitas lebih rendah dan pertumbuhan lebih cepat. Itik periode pertumbuhan dipelihara secara semi intensif memanfaatkan sumber pakan lokal yaitu Azola, keladi, enceng gondok, padi ampo ditambah dengan dedak, jagung, bekicot dan limbah pengolahan pensi sehingga harga pakan bisa lebih murah. Untuk meningkatkan kesehatan ternak dan mengurangi bau kandang diberikan probiotik secara teratur. Pengolahan pascapanen dilakukan dengan memberikan beberapa inovasi pada pengolahan telur dan daging itik menjadi rendang suir, rendang telur, aneka varian telur asin yang bisa meningkatkan kesehatan dan pendapatan masyarakat. Berdasarkan hasil kegiatan yang telah dilakukan dapat disimpulkan bahwa mendapat respon yang baik bagi masyarakat sasaran dan pemerintah daerah, khususnya di lingkungan kecamatan Batipuh Kabupaten Tanah Datar.

Aging is influenced by lifestyle, which one is by consuming excessive calories. In recent years there have been many studies on aging and age-related diseases, calorie restriction mimetic is one of them. Metformin is a calorie restriction mimetic that is attractive to gerontologists. This research analyzed the effect of metformin as a calorie restriction mimetic on fasting blood glucose and IGF-1 serum levels in old white male Wistar rats. This study conducted with an experimental study with a pre and post-test pattern with controlled group design on male rats (Rattus novergicus) Wistar strain which was divided into 3 groups, control group (K), the calorie restriction group (P1), and the metformin group (P2), 6 rats each group. Blood glucose levels were measured by a glucometer and serum IGF-1 levels were measured with an ELISA kit, where blood samples were taken from the tail of the rats. In general, the provision of metformin and calorie restriction tended to reduce blood glucose levels, but increased serum IGF-1 levels. There is a significant relationship between blood glucose levels and serum IGF-1 levels. It’s necessary to conduct further research to determine the effective dose and maximum dose of metformin to reduce blood glucose level and serum IG-1 levels which can be slow down the aging process.
