The integration of distributed generation (DG), renewable energy sources (RES), and power electronic converters into distribution systems (DSs) has introduced significant power quality (PQ) challenges, such as voltage fluctuations, harmonic distortions, and transients. These issues can undermine the reliability and stability of power systems, making it essential to address them to ensure a consistent and resilient power supply, especially as RES adoption continues to grow. While previous reviews have explored artificial intelligence (AI) applications for PQ management, most have been limited to specific AI techniques or targeted PQ problems, such as harmonics. This review, however, offers a comprehensive synthesis of AI-based approaches across a wide range of PQ applications, encompassing detection, classification, and improvement, while also considering the specific PQ issues addressed in each case. By adopting an integrated approach, this review identifies key research gaps, particularly the limited focus on leveraging AI to control power converters in RESs for PQ improvement, as most existing studies emphasize devices like active power filters, compensators, and conditioners. The review also evaluates the effectiveness of these AI methods in terms of accuracy and the extent of total harmonic distortion (THD) reduction. In addition, it provides novel insights that can help guide researchers, engineers, and industry professionals toward developing more adaptive, scalable, and robust PQ solutions. Finally, future research directions are proposed to advance AI-based PQ management, facilitating the integration of AI into diverse and evolving power systems.

Land subsidence is a significant issue in urban areas globally, including several cities with a growing population in Northern Sumatra, Indonesia. This study employs Sentinel-1 SAR data and the Small Baseline Subset (SBAS) InSAR technique to monitor land subsidence in Medan, Deli Serdang, Dumai, North Aceh, and Lhokseumawe from 2015 to 2023. The SBAS algorithm was implemented in LiCSBAS with an unwrapped interferogram. Then corrected for atmospheric effects using GACOS, was employed to increase the results of the land subsidence. The analysis was enhanced using GRACE satellite data to assess the impact of groundwater depletion on subsidence. Results indicate significant subsidence across all study regions, particularly in Medan and Dumai, with rates ranging from -48.6 mm/year to +54.1 mm/year. The findings highlight the critical role of rapid urbanization, excessive groundwater extraction, and oil and gas exploration in driving subsidence. This study underscores the need for sustainable urban planning and aquifer management to mitigate future environmental and infrastructural risks.

Amyloidosis is defined as a rare group of 30 protein-folding diseases characterized by the extracellular deposition of a specific soluble precursor protein that aggregates in the form of insoluble fibrils. The gastrointestinal tract (GI) is a common site for amyloid deposits: Among patients with systemic amyloidosis, at least 70% present with gastrointestinal deposition. Rarely, the deposition is exclusively localized in this area, leading to various gastrointestinal symptoms (bleeding, weight loss, etc.). In this case report, we present a rare and unusual form of localized gastrointestinal amyloidosis, diagnosed after a post-mortem examination of an 83-year-old woman who died due to septic shock resulting from post-colonoscopy iatrogenic perforation of the sigma, in a suspected medical liability case. Morphological examination revealed AL amyloid deposits within the muscular wall of the submucosal vessels of the rectum, which caused increased friability of the vessels and ischemic changes in the intestinal mucosa. A renal cell carcinoma (RCC) was found, which might be related to amyloid deposits, as reported by the literature. Amyloid deposits are an unknown and unpredictable pathological substrate that increase the risk of iatrogenic perforation. Analysis of the medical documentation did not reveal any censurable conduct in terms of prescribing the procedure, technical execution, or subsequent management of the patient following the perforation. GI amyloidosis should be part of the risk stratification of patients with rectal bleeding and gastrointestinal symptoms, and awareness is essential to guide subsequent diagnostic and therapeutic approaches and investigate underlying causes.

Cocoa plant is widely cultivated in Indonesia and spread across various regions. Diversity in geographical conditions has been known to significantly affect the quality of cocoa beans. Practically, cocoa beans are often mixed without considering the variation in the quality and its origin. This resulted in reduced global quality and product inconsistency. Improved recognition and classification methods are needed to solve those problems. Non-destructive classification methods can be used to provide a more efficient classification process. The use of artificial intelligence with computer-based deep learning methods was used in this study. Beans samples of various origins (Aceh, Bali, Banten, Yogyakarta, East Kalimantan, West Sulawesi, and West Sumatera) were evaluated. From the collected samples, 9100 images were then taken for data processing. Data preprocessing included denoising of the background image, cropping, resizing and changing the storage extension through the training-validation stage and the testing process. AlexNet and ResNet architectures on a Convolutional Neural Network were used for classification. The results showed that the average accuracy of cocoa image classification based on color identification by computer machines using Alexnet and ResNet was high (99.91% and 99.99%, respectively). This method can be applied to provide more efficient color-based cocoa bean classification for industrial purposes.

Bank Sampah Induk Kota Cimahi (Samici) seharusnya menjadi pilar dalam pengelolaan sampah anorganik di Kota Cimahi. Namun, timbulan sampah plastik di Kota Cimahi masih menjadi salah satu kontributor tumpukan sampah di TPA Sarimukti yang sudah kelebihan kapasitas. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi keberjalanan Bank Sampah Induk Samici berdasarkan faktor-faktor keberlanjutan tambank sampah induk dengan sasaran mengidentifikasi kondisi dan/atau keberjalanan Bank Sampah Induk Samici dan mengidentifikasi ketercapaian faktor-faktor keberlanjutan bank sampah induk pada kondisi dan/atau keberjalanan Bank Sampah Induk Samici. Penelitian ini menggunakan data yang dikumpulkan dari data sekunder dan data primer melalui wawancara dan observasi. Analisis yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah analisis deskriptif kualitatif untuk menjelaskan ketercapaian faktor-faktor keberlanjutan bank sampah induk pada kondisi/keberjalanan Bank Sampah Induk Samici. Keberjalanan Bank Sampah Induk Samici masih belum sepenuhnya baik dalam beberapa hal. Kegiatan pengelolaan sampah yang belum efektif dan gap yang cukup besar di dalam kondisi finansial menjadi masalah yang cukup krusial yang harus ditinjau kembali agar Bank Sampah Induk Samici dapat menunjang pengelolaan sampah anorganik di Kota Cimahi.

This study aimed to determine the effect of pasteurization time and temperature on soursop juice characteristics. Soursop (Anonna muricata L.), a climacteric fruit, is a high source of natural antioxidants and contains polyphenol oxidase (PPO) enzyme, which causes browning and can reduce the phenol content in fruit which can reduce antioxidant activity. The pasteurization process was carried out to inactivate PPO in soursop juice production. Soursop juice was prepared from soursop fruit pulp pasteurized at temperatures (56, 62, 68, 74, and 80 oC) for various pasteurization times (5, 10, and 15 minutes). Time and temperature of pasteurization had a significant effect (ρ < 0.05) on physical characteristics (Total Soluble Solid/TSS, viscosity, pH, and colour), polyphenol oxidase enzyme activity, antioxidant activity, and microbial population. Pasteurization at 62 ˚C for 5 minutes can maintain antioxidant activity with the greatest total phenol of 85.45 ± 3.5 mg GAE/100 g, total flavonoid of 71.38 ± 6.9 mg QE/100 g, and antioxidant activity of 76.91 ± 0, 33%. Pasteurization at 80 ˚C for 15 minutes can reduce the total number of bacteria from 350 ± 24 CFU/mL to 54 ± 22 CFU/mL, which has a TSS value of 13.73 ˚brix, viscosity of 928.67 mPa, pH of 4.40, a total colour change of 0.556, and has the lowest PPO enzyme specific activity of 0.0005 U/mg with enzyme inactivation of 93%.

E-learning is a learning process that utilizes an internet medium that connects teachers and students using multimedia-based teaching materials. M-learning is a learning model that has many similarities with e-learning; only the M-learning interaction model between teachers, students, and teaching materials is facilitated by mobile devices. Currently, quite a lot of mobile learning is being developed in Indonesia, but most of the research focuses on students. Not many have developed M-learning for the general people with the specific content or teaching materials in agriculture. An agriculture learning system is developed by applying the pear-to-pear (P2P) model between teachers and participants. The system applies two platforms, namely web and mobile. Admins and teachers use the web application, while the mobile application is used by the participants. Based on the system testing results, it is known that all functions in the system have been running well. Evaluation of the system's suitability with user requirements also shows that the system has accommodated all requirements.

Integrating the human dimension in Marine Spatial Planning (MSP) has been a primary challenge for MSP practices worldwide. One of the main issues in MSP is meaningful participation. However, there is an empirical gap regarding how participation functions and its relationship to achieving social sustainability goals. This paper aims to answer this question by studying MSP in Karimunjawa National Park, Indonesia. A qualitative descriptive research approach was used for the data collection and analysis. The results highlight that participation in Karimunjawa provides captivating alternatives in terms of participation, specifically in the areas of planning and management. We conclude that participation in management can mitigate the negative effects resulting from the lack of participation in planning, which may be constrained by factors such as knowledge and power gaps, as well as time limitations. The case-study findings also indicate that community responsibility towards the environment is closely related to their authority in regulating the utilisation of resources. Gender-based violence (GBV) has increased in the last decade, highlighting the need for significant attention to the prevention of physical and/or sexual violence. This situation is partially influenced by parenting in the family and is specifically reinforced by the involvement of fathers. This study aims to examine the effect of mindful parenting on GBV, with the father's involvement in parenting as a mediator. Data were collected using accidental sampling from 739 people (503 women and 236 men) aged between 18 to 23 years old. The instruments used in the study were the Interpersonal Mindfulness in Parenting (IM-P) scale (31 items, α = .953); the Inventory of Father Involvement (IFI) (26 items, α = .915); and the Social Norms and Beliefs about Gender-based Violence (GBV) Scale (30 items, α = .935). Mediation analysis served to test the research hypothesis. The research results indicate that mindful parenting has a significant effect on GBV, with the direct effect (β = -0.244, p .001) being lower than the indirect effect (β = -0.582, p .001), and the results of the Sobel test (z = -11.649, p = .000, p .001) suggest that this effect is mediated by the father's involvement in parenting. These findings emphasize the importance of increasing societal awareness regarding the significance of father involvement in parenting to reduce gender-based violence. Fathers should provide complete care by being physically and psychologically present, which could alleviate the mother's burden and diminish gender-based violence.

Abstract Grid stability can be affected by the large‐scale utilisation of renewable energy sources because there are fluctuations in generation and load. These issues can be effectively addressed by grid‐scale battery energy storage systems (BESS), which can respond quickly and provide high energy density. Different roles of grid‐scale BESS in power systems are addressed, following optimal operation approaches classification. Furthermore, integrating BESSs into distribution grids is discussed to manage challenges from distributed generation. BESSs aid in voltage control, enhance frequency regulation, and offer black‐start services. Aggregating distributed BESSs can provide ancillary services and improve grid economics. For consumers, BESSs optimise energy costs, enhance reliability, and support self‐consumption from renewables. Novel BESS services include congestion relief, system adequacy, and power quality enhancement. Moreover, the ancillary services provided in different European countries through BESS are analysed. Finally, a case study was conducted among three Baltic DSOs to analyse the required amendments to Grid Codes and Electricity Market Acts for the integration of grid scale BESS.

Occupational accidents, despite continuous safety updates, are still a scourge in the occupational and forensic spheres, constituting, among other things, the subject of a large share of litigation. Demographic data can help to understand the areas where the application of health surveillance is lacking. This meta-analysis sets out to analyse data from studies on accidents at work, focusing on the correlation between the areas in which accidents occur and whether or not personal safety equipment is used, in relation to the different regulations in force. For the selection of the data, a systematic review was carried out according to the PRISMA guidelines, with the primary objective of identifying the trend of occupational accidents in specific geographical areas, which differ in terms of the attention paid to preventive aspects. The data we highlighted showed, regarding the type of accident, substantial differences between low-income countries and industrialised countries (stratified according to the Human Development Index) and, an overall indifference as to whether or not individual safety devices were used, revealing that, despite the continuous normative evolution in the field of safety at work, even today, the investigative data on the actual application of the regulations, during accidents at work, is underestimated and little researched.

Native biodiversity decline and non-native species spread are major features of the Anthropocene. Both processes can drive biotic homogenization by reducing trait and phylogenetic differences in species assemblages between regions, thus diminishing the regional distinctiveness of biotas and likely have negative impacts on key ecosystem functions. However, a global assessment of this phenomenon is lacking. Here, using a dataset of >200,000 plant species, we demonstrate widespread and temporal decreases in species and phylogenetic turnover across grain sizes and spatial extents. The extent of homogenization within major biomes is pronounced and is overwhelmingly explained by non-native species naturalizations. Asia and North America are major sources of non-native species; however, the species they export tend to be phylogenetically close to recipient floras. Australia, the Pacific and Europe, in contrast, contribute fewer species to the global pool of non-natives, but represent a disproportionate amount of phylogenetic diversity. The timeline of most naturalisations coincides with widespread human migration within the last ~500 years, and demonstrates the profound influence humans exert on regional biotas beyond changes in species richness.

Abstract Background In case of locally advanced and/or non-metastatic unresectable esophageal cancer, definitive chemoradiotherapy (CRT) delivering 50 Gy in 25 daily fractions in combination with platinum-based regimen remains the standard of care resulting in a 2-year disease-free survival of 25% which deserves to be associated with new systemic strategies. In recent years, several immune checkpoint inhibitors (anti-PD1/anti-PD-L1, anti-Program-Death 1/anti-Program-Death ligand 1) have been approved for the treatment of various solid malignancies including metastatic esophageal cancer. As such, we hypothesized that the addition of an anti-PD-L1 to CRT would provide clinical benefit for patients with locally advanced oesophageal cancer. To assess the efficacy of the anti-PD-L1 durvalumab in combination with CRT and then as maintenance therapy we designed the randomized phase II ARION (Association of Radiochemotherapy with Immunotherapy in unresectable Oesophageal carciNoma- UCGI 33/PRODIGE 67). Methods ARION is a multicenter, open-label, randomized, comparative phase II trial. Patients are randomly assigned in a 1:1 ratio in each arm with a stratification according to tumor stage, histology and centre. Experimental arm relies on CRT with 50 Gy in 25 daily fractions in combination with FOLFOX regimen administrated during and after radiotherapy every two weeks for a total of 6 cycles and durvalumab starting with CRT for a total of 12 infusions. Standard arm is CRT alone. Use of Intensity Modulated radiotherapy is mandatory. The primary endpoint is to increase progression-free survival at 12 months from 50 to 68% (HR = 0.55) (power 90%; one-sided alpha-risk, 10%). Progression will be defined with central external review of imaging. Ancillary studies are planned PD-L1 Combined Positivity Score on carcinoma cells and stromal immune cells of diagnostic biopsy specimen will be correlated to disease free survival. The study of gut microbiota will aim to determine if baseline intestinal bacteria correlates with tumor response. Proteomic analysis on blood samples will compare long-term responder after CRT with durvalumab to non-responder to identify biomarkers. Conclusion Results of the present study will be of great importance to evaluate the impact of immunotherapy in combination with CRT and decipher immune response in this unmet need clinical situation.
