Introduction: Surgically ablation of locally advanced breast cancer often results in huge defects, however immediate reconstruction of the breast mound is controversial, particularly its relationship to clinical indications and type of reconstruction. Material and methods: This was an observational study done in the department of Surgery of Pravara institute of medical sciences, Loni. The patients with breast carcinoma proven by FNAC or biopsy underwent various types of skin coverage. The type of skin coverage depended on the size of breast lump. Skin flap necrosis can occur if the skin is fixed under tension. Results : It can lead to skin loss and may need grafting to cover the defect. In our study skin flap necrosis occured in 21% of patients. Mizuno H88 reported skin flap necrosis in 7.9% of patients and Bernard RW89 reported 9.52%. Conclusion: Actually it is difficult to come to any conclusion because of the small sample size we observed that all the various methods of treatment are equally effective if used properly with indication. Introduction: Testicular cancer represents between 1% and 1.5% of male neoplasm's and 5% of urological tumors in general, with 3-6 new cases/occurring per 100,000 males/year in western society. Material and methods: The present observational study was conducted for 2 years duration with 60 cases at Department of Surgery, Pravara Rural Hospital and Rural Medical College, PIMS, Loni. Institutional ethical committee clearance was taken before commencement of the study. Written and informed consent were taken. Results: Out of the three most common signs seen in a scrotal swelling, all patients presented with Tenderness of scrotal swelling i.e. 100%, 54 patients presented with redness i.e. 90%, and 52 patients presented with local rise of temperature over the scrotal swelling which makes 86% of the total patients. Conclusion: In our study acute epididymo-orchitis was the dominant cause of acute scrotal swelling followed by scrotal abscess. While Pain and swelling in the scrotum was the commonest presenting symptom observed in all cases. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Introduction: Suture is a generic term for all materials used to bring severed body tissue together and to hold these tissues in their normal position until healing takes place. Sutures which are used in surgical purpose for field of medical textiles are now a most demand in approximation of different type of tissues. Sutures are used to re-approximate the divided tissues and ligation of the cut end vessels. Methodology : All the patients above the age of 12 years irrespective of gender who were undergoing abdominal surgeries in Our rural hospital and getting sutured by either simple, mattress, subcuticular or tension sutures, and giving written informed consent for inclusion in the study, were included in the study. Results and Conclusion: From this study we may conclude, simple and subcuticular sutures are easy to take with fewer complications giving good cosmetic results while Mattress and tension sutures are preferred for infected cases. Introduction: One of the commonest clinical presentations that require emergency surgery is acute appendicitis. It is rare in infancy and amongst the elderly, but is common in children, teenagers and young adults. Material and methods: It was prospective clinicopathological study with 100 patient sample size conducted at Pravara Rural Hospital and Rural Medical College, PIMS, Loni. Institutional ethical committee clearance were taken before commencement of the study. Written and informed consent were taken for open appendectomy. This study included randomly all operated patients(100)suspected of acute appendicitis between June 2012 to October 2014 in the Department Of Surgery. Results: We found sensitivity and specificity of 93.9 and 71.4 (in TLC and CRP correlation with HPE) While sensitivity and specifity of94.2%and 62.5%. Introduction: Securing wounds is possible by knot or by recently developed barbed suture. Sutures require knots so as to ensure optimal tissue closure strength. The goal of wound closure is to bring the edges of the wound together not only with sufficient strength to prevent dehiscence, but also with a minimal residual tension and compression of the tissue Methodology: The observational study was conducted bases on 4 types of suturing techniques namely simple suture, mattress sutures, tension sutures, subcuticular sutures on different abdominal incisions for different cases. Ethical committee clearance was taken prior to the start of the study. Written informed consent was taken from the patients prior to the surgery for participation in the study.
