Five new flat mite species (Acari: Trombidiformes: Tenuipalpidae) are described and illustrated. These areAegyptobia anvilleasp. nov. fromAnvillea garcinii(Asteraceae) andPulicaria undulata(Asteraceae);Aegyptobia lippiisp. nov. fromHelianthemum lippii(Cistaceae);Aegyptobia rafiqisp. nov. fromConvulvulus oxyphyllus(Convolvulaceae);Aegyptobia saudiensissp. nov. fromHeliotropium bacciferum(Boraginaceae) andAegyptobia spinosasp. nov. fromPulicaria undulate(Asteraceae) andZilla spinosa(Brassicaceae) from Riyadh province of Saudi Arabia. All these five species belong to thetragardhispecies group. Two species, i.e.Phytoptipalpus eupharatica(Al-Gboory) comb. nov. andP. populus(Papaioannou-Souliotis) comb. nov., are transferred from the genusAegyptobiatoPhytoptipalpusTrägårdh on the basis of two pairs of anal setae.Aegyptobia baccharisBaker & Tuttle is considered as a junior synonym ofA. crotonaeBaker & Tuttle.
