The aim of the first experiment was to verify the effectiveness and profitability of providing supplemental feed to piglets. The milk feed mixture of two producers (MFM-1 vs MFM-2) were evaluated (served ad libitum). All piglets were suckled and were fed with the pre-starter feed mixture from the 5th day until the weaning stage. The control group without milk supplements has shown a higher piglet mortality and worse body condition of sows. The usage of milk supplements led to the elimination of the sow body condition loss during the suckling period and reduced feed mixture consumption in sows (P, Cílem 1. pokusu bylo ověřit efektivitu a rentabilitu přikrmování selat. Probiotics regulate and modulate gut microbial population thus reducing the risk of diarrhea. Positive effect on growth is confirmed. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of probiotic ( Lactobacillus sporogenes ) and prebiotic ( Ascophyllum nodosum ) supplements on weight gain in calves. Forty new-born Holstein calves were randomised to control and experimental group. In the experimental group, Lactobacillus sporogenes and Ascophyllum nodosum were added first to colostrum and then to milk replacer, calves in the control group were fed with colostrum and milk replacer only. The weight gains of animals were found out during the whole experiment. Evidence of animal health and diarrhea was monitored. In the end of experiment, the body weight gains in experimental calves were by 14,4% higher compared to control but without statistical significance (P>0,05). Probiotic and prebiotic treatment tended to diminish diarrhea. The health benefits of monitored treatment were noticed in experimental group. Passive transport of colostral immunoglobulins is essential for calves to maintain optimal health. There are many factors that influence the absorption of immunoglobulins such as colostrum density, timing of ingestion, volume of colostrum but also the method of feeding. This study compares two manners of feeding calves – the esophageal tube feeder (n = 97) and the nipple bottle (n = 97), and their effect on the number of all absorbed immunoglobulins (IgG, IgM, IgA, IgD, and IgE). It was statistically proven that absorption of immunoglobulins is better with the nipple bottle (P< 0.0001). The feeding of calves through a nipple bottle is more beneficial because the content of total protein is the higher than by the feeding through an esophageal tube feeder.

Po narození byla telata rozdělena do tří skupin: Ascophyllum nodosum (hydrolyzát hnědých mořských řas, prebiotikum), kombinaci Lactobacillus sporogenes, Enterococcus faecalis a Bifidobacterium bifidum (probiotikum) a kontrolní skupinu. Všechna telata byla zvážena do dvou hodin po narození. Přírůstky a zdravotní stav byly sledovány od narození do 56. dne věku. The most serious medical illness in breeding dairy cattle include diseases of the limbs, especially the hooves, which is a cause of premature decommissioning of the breeding. This is a crucial economic factor, because it can also significantly reduce the production of milk, and weight. It is therefore very important early detection of lameness. The aim of this study was to monitor the correct movement of dairy cows and subsequent detection of lameness through the automatic scoring system (vitalimeter), which facilitates the search for sick animals.

The aim of this study was to determine how the administration of probiotic feed supplements affects selected parameters rumen environment of cattle, how it impresses the basic chemical and biological processes in the rumen, and also to check their influence on the total digestibility of feed in the cannulated cattle. For the experiment two adult cows of Aberdeen Angus breed with implanted permanent cannula were used, whom probiotics Bifidobacterium sp. were administered daily and subsequently the degradability of the organic matter was determined by the in sacco method. From the samples of rumen fluid, the amount of ammonia, volatile fatty acids, ciliates and pH were analyzed. The impact of probiotics has not been demonstrated in testing the influence of probiotics on the different variables with fixed effect of an individual. When testing the influence of probiotics without the effect of an individual, in the linear model, obtained data of acetic and butyric acid were the best. In their dependence, numbers of protozoa were increasing. However, only two experiment individuals were tested, a strong effect of the individual was found. These results indicate that the effect of probiotics Bifidobacterium sp. on the functional state of the rumen is low., Cílem této studie bylo zjistit, jak podávání probiotických krmných doplňků ovlivňuje vybrané parametry bachorového prostředí, jak působí na základní chemické a biologické procesy v bachoru, a také jejich vliv na celkovou stravitelnost krmiva kanylovaných krav. V pokusu byly použity dvě dospělé krávy plemene Aberdeen-angus se zavedenou permanentní kanylou, kterým byla denně podávána probiotika Bifidobacterium sp. a následně stanovena degradovatelnost organické hmoty metodou in sacco. Z odebraných vzorku bachorové tekutiny bylo analyzováno množství amoniaku, těkavé mastné kyseliny, nálevníci a pH. Při testování vlivu probiotik na jednotlivé proměnné, s pevným efektem jedince nebyl vliv probiotik prokázán. Při testování bez efektu jedince vyšla v lineárním modelu nejlépe popisujícím má data kyselina octová a máselná. V jejich závislosti se zvyšovaly počty protozoí. Jelikož byli použiti pouze dva pokusní jedinci, je zde silný efekt jedince. Z těchto výsledků vyplývá, že vliv probiotik Bifidobacterium sp. na funkční stav bachoru je nízký. Tyto výsledky mohly být ovlivněny nízkým počtem replikací aplikace probiotik a také nízkým počtem zvířat.

The introduction of the new system would facilitate the whole zootechnical registers and accelerate the entire data processing. In the event, that a customer used the registers of animals and healthcare registers, there is mutually exchanged information between systems. It is not necessary, for example, to enter basic information about the animal (identification number, date of birth, gender, etc.) into each system separately. The advantage of both systems is the same graphical interface and control.
