Objectives: Our purpose has been to investigate by an ad hoc questionnaire the knowledge of several aspects of male sexual dysfunction in a significant sample of men and women (largely not physicians) attending an International Health Care Exhibition, held in Italy. Materials and methods: The survey took place during Exposanità, 2018 edition, aimed at medical and non-medical professionals. We devised as investigation tool an ad hoc anonymous questionnaire in two versions, one for each sex. Object of this report are questions addressing subject’s knowledge of prevalence of erectile dysfunction (ED), ED causes, ED as early sign of coronary heart disease/myocardial infarction, available ED treatments and attitudes towards penile prosthesis, and reimbursement of ED treatments. Results: As many as 1094 Convention attendees (495 men, 599 women) participated to the survey (about 4% of total attendees). Mean sample age was 40.5 years in men and 39.9 years in women. Forty-three percent of the sample worked in healthrelated professions, 5.9% being physicians. Respondents globally over-estimated the prevalence of ED. Both responding men and women rated psychologic and lifestyle factors as the most frequent ED causes. The majority of responders did not regard ED as a possible predictor of cardiovascular events. Oral pills resulted the most known ED treatment by both men (77.2%) and women (79.1%). Psychotherapy ranked as the second most known treatment approach. Other effective ED treatments (intracavernosal injections, vacuum erection device, penile prostheses) were known by a minority of men (22.2-27.9%) and women (19.2-20.2%). Roughly half of the sample (50.7% of men and 48.4% of women) were willing to choose (men) or to support (women) the penile prosthesis option in cases of severe ED; majority of both sexes (71.3% of men and 76.3% of women) expressed no resistances to the perspective of penile prosthesis use. Vast majority of men (80.3%) and women (80.4%) considered that coverage for ED treatments should be provided by the National Health System. Conclusions: The outcomes of our survey show both an elevated prevalence of misconceptions on the role of organic factors in the etiology of ED, and ignorance of the implications of ED on cardiovascular health. Knowledge of available second level ED treatments resulted scanty. Nonetheless, when confronted with the most aggressive treatment, penile prosthesis, majority of both genders responders would undergo/support this surgery, should it be the only way to solve the erectile problem. In this perspective, population appears ready and overall keen to a treatment option that too often is not addressed by majority of the medical community when counseling men with severe ED not responsive to conservative approach.

Periodicals ,AP1-271 - Abstract
In 1903 Giovanni Papini, a 22 year-old aspiring philosopher who would soon channel his rampant ambition into literary writing, was a founder of the philosophy magazine Leonardo (1903-7). A group of young intellectuals and artists, here defined as the Florentine avant-garde, gathered around this periodical and its successors, La Voce (1908-1916) and Lacerba (1913-15). By drawing on Bourdieu’s sociological theory of cultural fields, this essay explores how the intellectuals writing for these periodicals established a powerful intellectual network and criticized the cultural institutions of the period: universities, the press, the literary and the artistic markets. By tracing individual biographies and intellectual trajectories, this essay also highlights the conflicts that arose within the Florentine avant-garde and between it and the Futurists led by Filippo Tommaso Marinetti.

History (General) ,D1-2009 - Abstract
By drawing on the literary and intellectual trajectory of the writer Primo Levi, the essay underlines the most relevant turning points in the shaping of an Italian memory of the Shoah. A contextualization of Levi’s work puts into evidence the intermingling of national and international factors in this process, as well as the role a single individual can play in the shaping of a collective memory.

- Abstract

Il Politecnico (1945–47) is the most relevant Italian cultural journal in the immediate aftermath of WWII. It is also the most anomalous; the systematic integration in its graphic layout of textual and visual elements made it more similar to the illustrated magazines of the time than to other cultural journals. The choice to present highbrow contents in a graphic layout associated with popular mass media served to complicate the already tricky relationship between the editor – the writer Elio Vittorini – and the intellectuals working in the cultural agencies planning the journal: the Italian Communist Party and the publishing house Einaudi. A reconstruction of the intellectual network surrounding Il Politecnico and of how it began shrinking during the months of its lifespan shows how this conflict developed and finally led to its closure.

Experimental architecture in Italy began to take a new form in the 1990s when young architects, who were embracing new digital technologies, also began to go abroad to study and practise in greater numbers. Anna Baldini outlines a fecund strand in Italian architecture which, while no longer wholly new or youthful, retains its vitality. She highlights, in particular, the contributions of: Avatar Architettura, Gianluca Brini, Elastico spa+3, Exposure Architects, Giuliano Fausti, Luisa Fontana, Giorgio Goffi, ian+, Iotti+Pavarani Architetti, Fabrizio Leoni, ma0/emmeazero, Antonella Mari, Metrogramma, Open Building Research (OBR), RoccAtelier, studio.eu and Vulcanica Achitettura. Literature and Literary Theory - Abstract
Primo Levi's short stories are not as well-known as his works about his experience in Auschwitz, although some of them are remarkable. Lavoro creativo and Nel Parco illustrate how in the twentieth century the supernatural is introduced into literature by way of metafictionality. The supernatural events in these texts relate to Levi's opera omnia and Weltanschauung.

A method validation is reported for the determination of the s-lactamic antibiotic cephradine and its main impurity, cephalexin, by micellar electrokinetic chromatography (MEKC) with UV photometric detection. The validation was carried out in compliance with the analytical performance parameters required by the USP XXII. The capillary electrophoresis (CE) method was statistically compared with the HPLC method used in quality control laboratories; the analysis of variance showed no significant difference between the results obtained by the two methods, demonstrating CE to be a suitable alternative technique to HPLC in routine quality control.

Bourdieu, Marx, Althusser, Thompson, Diritto - Abstract
This article aims to investigate the Bourdieu’s sociology of the legal field through its relationship with Marx and the Marxism of Althusser and Thompson. On the one hand, it highlights how Bourdieu, despite the permanence of the horizon of Marxian thought, intends to move away from Marx in relation to the role played by law in the classification struggles and in the realpolitik of the universal. On the other hand, it shows how Althusser and Thompson, two competitors in the intellectual field, represent authors from whom Bourdieu intends to distance himself in order to construct his notion of ‘field’. However, in the framework of these problematic relationships, it is precisely the re-evaluation of the legal field in the direction of emancipatory practices that suggests the thinkability in Bourdieu of an indispensable relationship, of Marxian ancestry, between social struggles and the performative role of criticism.
