Today IoT is one of the most widely adopted technologies and is constantly evolving with the explosion of devices in various sectors such as Industrial, Consumer and Enterprises. The use cases and benefits to connect various devices are almost endless. However, one of the key aspects to successful enabling of IoT system is to ensure Security of the connected devices as well the networks involved in connecting these devices. Raspberry Pi is a proven low power platform that can be used to create IoT devices. In this paper, a Zonal Architecture is presented to simplify the IoT eco-system. Further, an attempt is made to provide a quick enablement of security features using Bouncy castle library on Raspberry Pi platform and provide a detailed report on the performance of different crypto algorithms for several use cases/operations such as Key generation, Hash generation, encryption/decryption and Signature/verification.

Grid computing helps us overcome heterogeneity in terms of computing elements, operating systems, policy decisions, and environments. However, security issues impede us from adopting the grid as a widespread IT virtualization solution, so we must develop solutions to address these issues.

Enterprises are looking at Grid computing as a technology of enormous potential. One such issue is the issue of Grid application migration, where legacy applications are migrated to the Grid environment. The Grid Application Migration Framework (GAMF), is an attempt to provide a systematic approach for handling the migration process. The framework consists of three independently deployable components: Grid Code Analyzer (GCA), Grid Task Generator (GTG), and Grid Simulator (GS). The GCA component analyzes the different applications and generates a Directed Acyclic Graph (DAG) based on the information obtained from analysis. The DAG is based on both static and runtime information available from application profiling. The DAG information is then analyzed and Grid tasks are generated based on different DAG reducing and clustering algorithms. The simulator takes the generated DAG as input and provides and analyzes the application performance with respect to Grid infrastructure and policies.

A grid is described as a distributed network which comprises of heterogeneous and non-dedicated elements. The heterogeneity of a grid is not only defined in terms of computing elements and operating systems but also in terms of implementation of policies, policy decisions and the environment. In this paper we have described in detail the architecture of the scalable workflow manager on grid called Grid Workflow Manager (GridWorM) which works with different existing schedulers. The workflow solution is scalable and is able to integrate the business requirements with the underlying grid infrastructure.
