The brand appearance has evolved as one of the most popular ways to collect budgets for movies, television shows, music videos, games, and animations. This way of brand appearing within these productions is also named product placement. Product placement is briefly defined as placing products and brands within mass media channels and content such as movies, television shows, games, books, songs, music videos, and animations. Animated films and series have become beneficial platforms for brand appearances due to the economic parameters in the global animation industry. Therefore, the field of film studies and the scope of advertising could be intersected in quantitative research. Intending to contribute to the field, the content analysis method was chosen as a research method to investigate the product placement strategies in animated movies. In this quantitative study, purposive sampling was selected as one of the non-probability sampling methods. To prove the widespread usage of product placement in animated movies, 10 United States-originated animated movies were selected with higher than 7.0 points and rated by at least 2.000 thousand people on IMDb. With the study's aim, 121 brand appearances were identified in 10 animated movies, and it was observed that Apple has the most appearances within these 10 movies. The findings demonstrate that brands were visually appeared mostly in the category of products and services about free time activities. Another study finding is that U.S.-originated brands appeared most in animation movies. Brand appearances and product placement practices were at their highest number in the Netflix Original adventure adult animated movies. The primary outcome of this study showcases that animation could be an effective and creative medium for brand appearance and product placement. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Chemistry is a discipline that is conceptually difficult to understand due to the number of abstract concepts it contains. Therefore, understanding abstract concepts is one of the most crucial steps in the process of learning chemistry. The present study aimed to explore the effect of application of cooperative learning through animations, models (play dough and stick-ball), and seven principles (seven principles for good practice to improve the quality of undergraduate education) on the conceptual understanding of chemistry. The sample of the study consisted of 91 first-year pre-service science teachers enrolled in a teacher education program in Turkey. A quasi-experimental design with non-equivalent pretest-posttest comparison groups was used in the study. The students were assigned into four groups. The applications included cooperative learning in the first group, cooperative learning and seven principles in the second group, cooperative learning and animation in the third group, and cooperative learning and models in the fourth group. Four Module Tests were used for data collection. In order to explore the effects of applied methods and techniques on conceptual understanding, Module Tests were applied as both pretest and posttest. The results of the study showed that applying cooperative learning with the seven principles and cooperative learning with models has a greater impact on the conceptual understanding of chemistry compared to other applications.

The aim of this research is to reveal students’ opinion regarding animation supported piano teaching method’s materials. Data of the study were collected via qualitative analysis. Students’ opinions are received by using “interview form” technic. To introduce animation supported piano teaching methods materials to students, students were taken piano lessons in five weeks (two hours a week). Students studying in Karsiyaka Munucipial Conservatory piano classes in Izmir Constitute the population of the study. In this study, 22 students who are between the age of 7-9, are interviewed individually with the help of semi-structured interview form. Sampling method is criterion sampling method to get in depth-information about student’s opinion. Qualitative analysis includes description of materials, classification of specified themes regarding this research, and correlation of themes and students’ opinion. According to results, using animations, computer games, piano teaching book, colorful finger gloves and play dough are thought to be entertaining, striking, instructive, persistence enhancer, facilitating learning and reviving in the mind, by students. In addition, students like using these materials in piano lessons. According to these results, it can be said that for students who live in the age of technology, handmade materials, such as rice-filled bottles, percussions from yoghurt pots, are not sufficient to teach piano playing and using these handmade materials are not funny, because they are used to play computer and watch animations (cartoons). As a result, students’ interests and continuities in piano lessons can be increased by using animation supported piano teaching method’s materials.

SOCIAL order , *GENDER , *FEMININE identity , *MASCULINE identity , *SOCIAL participation , *TREND setters - Abstract
The gender of individuals is decisive in their participation in social life. The pros and cons of having gender have been at the center of the lives of people living together in every period of history. Individuals fit into certain patterns with their sexual identities and the perspectives of societies in which they live. Perceptions and attitudes of other people and societies towards gender have always been influential factors in maintaining social order. The formation of gender perception takes place at every stage of human relations and the ideology of these perceptions and attitudes is rebuilt in the monopoly of the dominant classes. Social norms and values both transform and become a part of the perception of gender. Media and presentations are among the most effective tools in the production of dominant identities. The dominant ideological apparatuses, which hold the media, produce messages that define not only biological but also sociological judgments about male and female identities. The film is one of the strong areas of media ecology that validates the dominant ideology in a society. It did not take long to understand the effect of modern cinema on societies. At this point, animated films, which are a relatively new field other than classical cinema production, produce messages that appeal to both children and adults. In this study, the animation films Ice Age-I, Shrek-I and Winx Club: The Secret of the Lost Kingdom were subjected to a qualitative analysis based on the idea that animated films also contain messages that reproduce gender perception. Ever since the first manmade object entered space in the 1950s, the human imagination has been captivated by the future. Nowhere is this clearer than in cinema, whose representations of the future are forced to reckon with the topic of design, especially as related to the city, urban space (fictional space), interiors, and, naturally, architecture. Since both cinema and architecture involve a focus on notions of human experience, movement, time, and visuality, the two fields are intimately related. This relationship is the starting point for this article, which uses the lens of fictional space to analyze the interaction between architecture and cinema during the First Space Age (1957–91) and the Second Space Age (1991–present), including the social, cultural, and theoretical aspects of that relationship, with a particular focus on representations of interior space and urban design. To analyze this interaction, we employ a qualitative research methodology and a historiographical lens that emphasizes the evolutionary process of the representation of the future in architecture and cinema. Because only the imagination limits human fictional space and the technology, materials, and spatial qualities within it, we draw the particular cases we examine in this article from animated series and films (The Jetsons; Astro Boy; Transformers: The Movie; My Life as a Teenage Robot; Love, Death & Robots; and WALL-E), which we select and analyze through stratified random sampling. These particular cases were chosen with an eye to their representation of the First and Second Space Age and their ability to provide grounds for comparison within and between the two eras. Additionally, the fact that few of these have yet been addressed by researchers makes their analysis here another of this study’s contributions to the scholarly literature. Because fictional space in cinema, its reflection in architecture, urban space, and interior design, and representation are critical themes for this article, we employ Stuart Hall’s representation theory and underline the benefits of his constructivist representation approach. The animated series and films dealt with here offer diverse perspectives on the topic. We examine the sorts of representations of the future they employ, while also dividing them by period to ascertain differences between these representations in the First and Second Space Age. By comparing the cases under study, we identify different urban and architectural approaches unique to each period that reflect its social and cultural context, theoretical horizons, and consumption habits. In doing so, we reveal that each period has its own representational language, with the First Space Age marked by an emphasis on physical space and equipment that is replaced in the Second Space Age by an emphasis on changes in social life. The examples that reflect the First Space Age emphasize futuristic, space-themed details in interior design, while those reflecting the Second Space Age content themselves with today’s technology and current materials and represent the theme of the future instead mostly through façade organizations and urban patterns. Furthermore, the samples reflecting the Second Space Age introduce a new type of future in which humans are positioned as passive and technology, technological devices, and equipment are positioned as active. Cases from this later era reckon more deeply with the role of the technology that is ostensibly meant to serve humans, eschewing the earlier emphasis on design variety, specifically interior design, in favor of grappling with and developing a perspective on the theme of the future. These differences are a reflection of the different social, cultural, and economic conditions and background of the First Space Age and Second Space Age, revealing the reciprocal interaction of the historical conditions and the particular approaches of cinema and architecture. Cinema is influenced by the social, cultural, and architectural features of its era. And, as a powerful mass media tool with the power to spread trends and developments across the world, it also has an important impact on its era. Therefore, cinema, architecture, and the facts of social life nourish one another and, as a result, evolve together.

Araştırmadan elde edilen bulgulara göre işbirlikli öğrenmenin yedi ilke ve işbirlikli öğrenmenin modeller ile birlikte uygulanmasının kimyanın kavramsal anlaşılmasında daha etkili olduğu sonucuna erişilmiştir., Chemistry is a discipline that is conceptually difficult to understand due to the number of abstract concepts it contains.
