Background: In this study, two novel hybrid series of artemisinin and quinazolinones were synthesized and evaluated in vitro cytotoxicity against two human cancer cell lines, including SKLu-1 (lung cancer), MCF- 7 (breast cancer). The bio-assay results indicated that most of the target compounds exhibited cytotoxic activities against both human cancer cell lines tested and seemed to be more cytotoxic toward the breast (MCF-7) cancer cells than lung (SKLu-1) cancer cells. Among the synthesized artemisinin hybrids, the compound 13d containing a quinazolinone conjugated system exhibited the most potent cytotoxicity against the SKLu-1 and MCF-7 cell lines with IC50 values of 1.62 and 0.77 μM, respectively. Objective: This study aims at developing novel hybrids of artemisinin and quinazolinones as anticancer agents. Method: A series of novel hybrids were designed, synthesized, and evaluated for cytotoxicity against two human cancer cell lines, including SKLu-1 and MCF-7, using the SRB method. Results: All thirteen hybrids of artemisinin with quinazolinone exhibited cytotoxic activity against two tested cancer cell lines, in which the compound 13d exhibited the most potent cytotoxicity against the SKLu-1 and MCF-7 cell lines with IC50 values of 1.62 and 0.77 μM, respectively. Conclusion: The research results suggest that some compounds could be considered as leads for future design of hybrids and have the potential for further studies in the field of anti-cancer agent development.

Purpose: To describe the variants and the anormalies of coronary artery on 128-row computed tomography (CT).Material and method: 90 patients were treated at 103 hospital from Oct. 2020 to Jul. 2021. The characteristic figures of coronary artery assessed on 128-row CT included: the site of ostium, course, abnormal enlargement of the branch…Results: 84.4% of the patients had a right dominant system and Ramus intermedius branch was seen in 57.8%. The anomalous origins of LM and RCA were found in 3.3% for each branch. The atrophies of LCx and RCA were 7.8% and 2.2%, respectively.Conclusion: 128-row detector CT images is helpful for detecting the variants and the anormalies of coronary artery

Anisotropic magnetoresistive (AMR) sensors have long been used for specific industrial applications. Their field detection sensitivity can be improved using magnetic flux concentrators to amplify the magnetic field strength sensed at the sensor. We report on the design and fabrication of a micrometer-size meander AMR bridge sensor with an effective AMR branch length of 150. This sensor geometry has enabled us to achieve a magnetic sensitivity as high as 1.25 mV/Oe (or 0.45 mV/V/Oe), which is an enhancement by a factor of about 300 compared to conventional AMR thin film-based sensors. Our study paves a new pathway for the design and application of geomagnetic devices. Recent studies have shown that the magnetic field sensitivity of an anisotropic magnetoresistance (AMR) sensor using a single-layer Ni80Fe20 thin film can be considerably improved by increasing the shape anisotropy of the film. In this work, an effective approach for improving the sensitivity and reducing the magnetic coercive field as well as the thermal noise contribution in an AMR Wheatstone bridge sensor is proposed by combining multiple resistors in the series–parallel combination circuits. Four different AMR sensor designs, consisting of a single resistor, three and five resistors in series and six resistors in series–parallel connection, were fabricated by using Ta (10 nm)/Ni80Fe20 (5 nm)/Ta (10 nm) films grown on thermally oxidized Si substrates under the presence and the absence of a biasing magnetic field (900 Oe). The results showed that the sensors based on series–parallel combination gain a magnetic sensitivity (SH) 1.72 times higher than that of the sensor based on the series connection. This optimized sensor has improved the capacity of detecting various concentrations of magnetic nanoparticles with a detection limit of magnetic moments estimated to be about 0.56 μemu.

In this study, an alternative aqueous isopropyl alcohol-free fountain solution for sheet-fed offset printing is prepared comprising 5 w/w% McIlvaine's buffer system for pH control, 0.3 w/w% Polysorbate 80 as a surfactant, 1 w/w% magnesium nitrate hexahydrate as a conductivity agent and 10 w/w% ethylene glycol mono-butyl ether as an additional wetting agent. The percentages of each composition are w/w% of active and then adjusted to 100 w/w% by adding distilled water. The contact angles of the obtained fountain solution on non-image areas of three common offset printing plates: CTP plate of Kodak, CTP plate of Huaguang Graphic Co. Ltd (China), and CTP plate of Mylan Printing Media Co. Ltd (Vietnam), range from 10° to 20°.The surface tension, conductivity, pH and viscosity were found to be 30.5 mN/m, 1.45 mS/cm, 4.8, and 1.05 x 10-2 g/cm.s, respectively. In comparison to the commercial fountain solution (KF – Trade Mark (China) containing isopropyl alcohol (IPA), the obtained fountain solution shows similar wettability on the non-image area of the offset printing plate whilst having similar physico-chemical parameters. The results indicate that ethylene glycol mono-butyl ether could be a potential substitute for IPA in fountain solution in offset printing, and the obtained fountain solution displays suitable properties for the offset printing process.

Background Multidetector computed tomography (MDCT) angiography is a useful examination to detect the source of the bleeding in patients with hemoptysis. The aim of the study was to prospectively evaluate the role and clinical efficacy of MDCT angiography before bronchial artery embolization (BAE) for the management of hemoptysis, and to investigate the predictors of early recurrence. Methods It is a double-center study which included 57 hemoptysis patients undergoing MDCT angiography prior to BAE from August 2019 to July 2020. A prospective analysis of culprit arteries detected by MDCT angiography allowed an evaluation of the role of this technique. A follow-up was done to assess the efficacy of BAE with preprocedural MDCT angiography and to explore the risk factors of early recurrent hemoptysis. Results The accuracy of MDCT angiography in the identification of culprit arteries was as high as 97.5%. The average number of total culprit arteries per patient was 2.75 ± 1.73. Among which, the average numbers of culprit ectopic bronchial arteries (BAs) and non-bronchial systemic arteries (NBSAs) per patient were 0.21 ± 0.41 and 1.04 ± 1.57, respectively. The immediate clinical success rate, total hemoptysis recurrence rate, and early hemoptysis recurrence rate of BAE following MDCT angiography were 94.7, 18.5, 16.7%, respectively. Aspergilloma (HR = 6.63, 95% CI: 1.31–33.60, p = 0.022) was associated with an increase in the risk of early recurrence. Conclusions MDCT angiography should be performed before BAE for the management of hemoptysis. Aspergilloma was an independent predictor for early recurrence.

Diffusive gradient in thin films (DGT) is one of useful techniques regarding in situ metal speciation in water environment. It has attracted significant research interest aimed at finding new binding phases in order to diversify DGT application. In this study, montmorillonite (MMT), the natural clay mineral with high ion-exchange capacity and trace metal adsorbability, was immobilized in hydrogel and investigated for its applicability as a binding phase in the DGT technique. The structure of the new binding material before and after the acid treatment was characterized using X-ray Powder Diffraction (XRD), Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FT-IR), Brunauer Emmet Teller (BET) specific surface area testing, and Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry (ICP-MS). The montmorillonite embedded in DGT (DGT-MMT) was tested for the determination of labile Cd, Pb, Mn, and Zn in standard solutions. Various parameters affecting the working performance of DGT-MMT including deployment period, pH, ionic strength, and complexing agent (EDTA) were examined. The results showed that after the acid treatment, most of trace metals such as Cd, Pb, Mn, and Zn in MMT were removed to levels of under the detection limits of the analytical instrument, while the major structure of MMT remained stable. The MMT K10 exhibited high adsorbability to all tested trace metals and Langmuir adsorption isotherm was considered the best fit. In each standard solution containing 20 μg L−1 of tested trace metal, it took only 6 h to recover 85.7–93.5% of labile Cd, Pb, Mn, and Zn by the DGT-MMT. Better working performance of the DGT-MMT was observed at pH, ionic strength, and complexing agent conditions similar to those found in natural water environments. Moreover, we found no significant difference in working efficiency between the new DGT-MMT and traditional DGT-Chelex100 techniques.

In this study, the Cu/TiB2 composite coating was successfully prepared by laser cladding on H13 hot work die steel. The experimental results show that the microstructure of the coating is relatively homogeneous distributed and the TiB2 hard particles are dispersed in the copper Cu coating. The coating thickness of approximately 500‒600 μm. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) analysis showed that there is a metallurgical bond between the coating and the substrate, which ensure a strong binding ability. The maximum microhardness of the coating is up to 700 HV0.2, which is significantly greater than the hardness of substrate (about 220 HV0.2). However, the hardness distribution is not uniform, and show a slow decreasing trend to the depth of (500‒600) μm off the surface, then, quickly reduce to the matrix hardness

Laser ablation inductively coupled mass spectrometry (LA-ICPMS) was used to determine Sr and Ba profiles along the growth axis of otholiths of European smelt caught in the Wadden Sea, the IJsselmeer and the Markermeer and to investigate the migration behaviour of the fish between the freshwater lakes and the marine environment. The use of Sr and Ba otolith profiles and their dissolved concentrations in the three aquatic systems provided a robust method for habitat classification and migration behaviour of the 111 individual smelts. No evidence was found of the migration of individuals from the Wadden Sea to the Ijsselmeer due to no marine Sr/Ba signal in the Ijsselmeer smelt. The Ba and Sr concentrations in the otoliths of Wadden Sea smelt suggest a mixture of two populations: juveniles that were born in the Wadden Sea and species that were born in Lakes IJsselmeer or Markermeer and migrated to the Wadden Sea. In the IJsselmeer different types of otolith profiles were observed depending on the migration history of the individuals in that lake: some individuals have probably not moved a lot, others may have used tributaries (e.g. the river IJssel) as spawning grounds or migrated from Markermeer to Ijsselmeer.

The accumulation of trace elements (Mg, Mn, Sr, Ba) in Unio pictorum L. mussel shells from Lake Balaton has been assessed using a Laser Ablation (LA) system coupled to either a quadrupole-based or a sector-field inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometer (ICP - MS), as well as by a combination of micro-drill sampling and solution ICP-MS. The LA-ICP-MS measurements were carried out in the holes made by the micro-drilling system. The longitudinal concentration profiles obtained with the different methods show similar patterns. However, the absolute concentrations determined at individual spots (holes) can be quite different. Especially Ba shows erratic peaks at a very small spatial scale. A paired, two-sample t-test between LA-ICP-MS longitudinal profiles and between LA-ICP-MS and micro-drill/solution ICP-MS profiles indicates that, in most cases, there is no significant difference between the concentration profiles of Ba, Mg, Mn and Sr. Average shell concentrations of Mg, Mn, Sr and Ba, as obtained by LA-ICP-MS and micro-drill/solution ICP-MS, compare well with bulk shell concentrations as obtained by acid digestion/ICP-MS of larger shell pieces. Next to the four elements mentioned above, also the concentrations of Cd, Co, Cr, Cu, Ni, Pb and Zn could be determined by bulk shell analysis. The element concentrations in 11 shells, all sampled at the same site, show a relative standard deviation (RSD) between 2% (Ni) and 46% (Zn). LA-ICP-MS and micro-drill solution ICP-MS are not sensitive enough for the determination of ultra-trace elements in Lake Balaton's mussel shells. We estimated the amount of shell material necessary to determine Ni, Pb, Cr and Cu by micro-drilling ICP-MS (for a concentration that equals 3 times their limit of detection) at, respectively, 0.04, 0.82, 2.7 and 0.4 mg, while the amount sampled by micro-drilling is about 0.06 mg.

International audience; La prise en compte des pertes dans les bobinages comprenant un grand nombre de conducteurs est rapidement hors de portée des logiciels par éléments finis en trois dimensions. Nous proposons comme alternative une technique d'homogénéisation par l'intermédiaire de propriétés macroscopiques complexe. Un exemple test valide la démarche proposée.

Distance magnetic nanoparticle detections were investigated by using a magnetoelectric based magnetic sensor with a long type bilayer Metglas/PZT laminate composite. In homogeneous magnetic fields, the sensor exhibits a sensitivity of 307.4 mV/Oe, which is possible for a detection limit of 2.7 × 10-7 emu. This sensor can detect an amount of 0.31 μg of the superparamagnetic Fe3O4-chitosan fluid at 2 mm height above the sensor surface. To detect a spot with magnetic nanoparticles at a distance of about 7.6 mm, it should contain at least 50 μg of iron oxide. This approach can develop the local detection of magnetic nanoparticles at a depth of centimeters in the body during clinical interventions.

However, the generation of these cuts can be difficult for the user, particularly in the case of complex geometries. In order to improve robustness of NDT modeling, we proposed an algorithm generating these cuts automatically.

International audience; This paper focuses on proximity losses prediction in conductors of power electronics transformers. The method is based on the concept of equivalent complex permeability applied to rectangular conductors. A 1-D analytical model is analyzed. It has been shown that the 1-D model does not take into account edge effects. Two complementary approaches have been proposed. One treats scattered conductors; other deals with package of conductors. Both approaches are compared with a good accuracy and economic computation time.

International audience; The approach of magnetic scalar potential 0 - is widely popular for solving magnetic problems coupled with electric circuits. However, cuts are required to preserve the Ampere's law for the case of ferromagnetic circuits with holes surrounded by coils. The manual definition of cuts might not be evident even for experimented finite-element (FE) users. This paper presents a new automatic cuts generation algorithm. First, we present a tool that allows determining if a ferromagnetic region has holes or not. If holes are found, the region is then inflated to get automatically needed cuts. The presented algorithm is also applicable to generate electric cuts in massive conductors.
