In this article we continue our investigation of the Paatero space. We prove that the intersection of every Paatero class V(k) with every Hardy space Hp is closed in that Hp and associate singular continuous measures to elements of V(k). There have been no examples in the literature of functions in V(k) with zeros in the unit disk other than the one at the origin. We close this gap in the literature. We derive a representation of the measure associated to a function in V(k) for functions whose derivatives are rational, or algebraic, or transcendental functions in the unit disk.Finally, we consider the notion of regulated domains, introduced by Pommerenke and show that there are regulated domains whose boundary is not of bounded boundary rotation.

For strip sowing of grass seeds into the sod, a milling coulter with bladed knives has been developed. To determine the optimal parameters and modes of operation of the milling coulter with lamellar knives, a three-level Box-Benkin plan for three factors was implemented. Regression models of the developed milling working body are obtained. An increase in the peripheral speed of the knives of the milling working body significantly improves the quality of tillage, regardless of the number of knives. An increase in the number of knives of the milling coulter also causes an increase in the content of soil particles of 0...25 mm, and the transition from two knives to four ensures its increase by 15.6...20.8%, moreover, the replacement of four knives with six knives - only by 5.8...7.3%. The minimum energy consumption of the milling working body with six bladed knives is 2.0…2.2 kW, which was obtained at a peripheral speed of the knives of 6.0…6.4 m/s. The maximum content of soil fractions 0…10 mm and 0…25 mm, respectively, 69.8% and 91.8%, provides a milling coulter with lamellar knives at their peripheral speed of 8.0…8.4 m/s.

The article presents a study on the establishment of geological and facies conditions for the formation of a sandy-silty-clayey reservoir based on core analysis and linking the information obtained with neighboring areas. Previously used petrophysical relationships were generalized with underlying objects composed of thick monolithic sandstones and did not allow correctly assessing the properties of the reservoir under consideration. The work made it possible to clarify the idea of lithofacies features to substantiate their own petrophysical dependencies, which make it possible to differentiate thin-layered clay reservoirs in the section and determine their properties. The results obtained during the study made it possible to refine the petrophysical model, previously generalized to all the layers of the group. The revision of the boundary values and dependencies helped to justify the increase in reservoir oil reserves and became the basis for subsequent work to increase the profitability of putting the facility into commercial development.

The article presents an integrated approach to the selection of the most optimal option for involving in the development of oil reserves confined to thin-layered clay-bearing reservoirs, based on integrated modeling. Previous studies of facies, geological and petrophysical reservoirs of the reservoir under consideration using a newly sampled core made it possible to reconsider the prospects for oil production, which was previously considered unprofitable. The use of the spectral method made it possible to take into account the high anisotropy of properties and achieve a highly detailed geological model, on the basis of which an increase in the initial geological reserves (IGZ) by more than 50% and their belonging to the category of hard-to-recover (TRIZ) is justified. The assignment of the deposit to the category of TRIZ made it possible to apply a preferential coefficient to the mineral extraction tax, which increased the economic attractiveness of the project. To reduce the risk of involvement of the underlying water-saturated interval, studies of the elastic-deformation properties of the reservoir rocks were carried out, on the basis of which a geomechanical model was built to select the optimal parameters for the hydraulic fracturing (HF) operation. To select the optimal location of production and injection wells, as well as the parameters of their injection using a hydrodynamic model, a feasibility study of development systems using directional (DW) and horizontal wells with multi-stage hydraulic fracturing (HW+MHF) was carried out. An integrated approach made it possible to develop solutions to more than double the oil recovery factor (ORF) and net present value (NPV) of the project.

The device for applying meliorants is designed for the distribution of nutrients, presented in liquid form, in the sublap space of a plane-cutting tillage tool. Distribution is carried out by spraying liquid meliorants, which allows you to saturate the fertile soil layer with nutrients and substances to obtain a high yield. Spraying of liquid meliorants occurs due to the directional effect of compressed air on the liquid jet, as a result of which the jet breaks up into a finely dispersed medium, which makes it possible to moisten a significant part of the plow sole and the soil layer being cut. The formed layer, when falling from the dump of the working body to the plow sole, is destroyed and a favorable condition is created for the distribution of nutrients in the treated soil layer. Also, the optimal humidity necessary for the growth of crops is normalized and preserved from volatilization.

The pneumatic system with a vertical annular aspiration channel for vibration-centered grain separators been developed. The rational values of the disk grain distributor are the length of the sectors 0.15 m, the angle of inclination of the sectors 60°. The rotation speed of the distributor in the seed mode (grain supply 5…15 t/h) should be 100…200 min-1 and in the food mode (grain supply 15…25 t/h) must be 100…150 min-1. The effect of the release of light impurities in the developed aspiration system decreases from 45% to 20% with an increase in the supply of grain G from 5 to 25 t/h, herewith at the same time the loss of a full-fledged grain to waste decreases from 0.6...0.8% to 0.3...0.4%, while the effect of the release of light impurities in the aspiration system of the mass-produced vibration centrifugal grain separator decreases from 11% to 4% with the same losses of grain to waste.

Background: Autofluorescence bronchoscopy (AFB) allows a more sensitive approach to the diagnosis of premalignant and malignant endobronchial lesions than white light bronchoscopy (WLB) can do.

As part of a retrospective study on bronchoscopies performed at the Clinic of Pneumonology and Phthisiatry of the University Hospital – Pleven by autofluorescence bronchoscopy we found 3 cases diagnosed with carcinoma in situ. They were treated in different ways – endobronchial electrocoagulation, extraction by forceps biopsy and open surgery, but the result was the same – clinical healing. The paper presents the three clinical cases and the analysis of the treatment.

The MuCap experiment at the Paul Scherrer Institute has measured the rate Λ(S) of muon capture from the singlet state of the muonic hydrogen atom to a precision of 1%. A muon beam was stopped in a time projection chamber filled with 10-bar, ultrapure hydrogen gas. Cylindrical wire chambers and a segmented scintillator barrel detected electrons from muon decay. Λ(S) is determined from the difference between the μ(-) disappearance rate in hydrogen and the free muon decay rate. The result is based on the analysis of 1.2 × 10(10) μ(-) decays, from which we extract the capture rate Λ(S) = (714.9 ± 5.4(stat) ± 5.1(syst)) s(-1) and derive the proton's pseudoscalar coupling g(P)(q(0)(2) = -0.88 m(μ)(2)) = 8.06 ± 0.55.

Aim: To elucidate what impact has the use of different narcotic drugs, alcohol and tobacco on the health of students and the risk of injuries., Material and Methods: We carried out a questionnaire survey of the first year students from all six vocational schools of Klaipeda (Lithuania) in 2004, 2006 and 2008. A total of 912 students (507 boys and 405 girls, mean age 17.5 years) were surveyed with an anonymous questionnaire. The findings were analysed with computer soft SPSS (SPSS 16.0 for Windows)., Results: The results showed that the use of any psychoactive substances is damaging to health, especially injection and club narcotic drugs. Adolescents addicted to any psychoactive substances more often than non-addicts visited doctor due to illness or injury during the last 12 months., Conclusion: Adolescents on illegal drugs, especially boys on injectable narcotic drugs and girls on club drugs were at twice higher risk for disease or injury (odds ratio--OR--3.39, 95% confidence interval--CI--1.25 to 9.19, p = 0.016 and OR--2.38, CI--1.35 to 4.20, p = 0.003, respectively). Tobacco and alcohol consumption did not significantly increase this risk with the exception of tobacco smoking girls. We think it happened because these two addictions are widely spread among large part of the boys from the vocational schools.

Using the linearized Poisson-Boltzmann equation (LPB) we derive an asymptotic expansion for the electrostatic potential of charged torus immersed in solution of an electrolyte in the limit of high salinity and large major radius of the torus. The small parameter of this expansion is the ratio of the Debye length to the minor radius of the torus. We derive asymptotic expressions for the electrostatic free energy and for the electrostatic persistence length of a polyion of a finite thickness. We propose a simple interpolation formula, xi(el)=l(B)(sigma(0)/e)(2)bkappa(D)[1+kappa(D)/(4b)], that gives the electrostatic persistence length in terms of the Debye length kappa(D), the linear charge density (sigma(0)/e), and the thickness of the polyion, 2b. This formula reproduces the exact results from the LPB theory in the limits of high and low salt concentrations. For the entire range of salinities, our formula is in excellent agreement with the numerical LPB results for wormlike particles of varying thickness. For particles of vanishing thickness, this formula reduces to the classical Odijk-Skolnick-Fixman expression.

The rate of nuclear muon capture by the proton has been measured using a new technique based on a time projection chamber operating in ultraclean, deuterium-depleted hydrogen gas, which is key to avoiding uncertainties from muonic molecule formation. The capture rate from the hyperfine singlet ground state of the microp atom was obtained from the difference between the micro(-) disappearance rate in hydrogen and the world average for the micro(+) decay rate, yielding Lambda(S)=725.0+/-17.4 s(-1), from which the induced pseudoscalar coupling of the nucleon, g(P)(q(2)=-0.88m(2)(micro))=7.3+/-1.1, is extracted.

We develop an analytical molecular-thermodynamic model for the aggregation free energy of branching portions of wormlike ionic micelles in 1:1 salt solution. The junction of three cylindrical aggregates is represented by a combination of pieces of the torus and bilayer. A geometry-dependent analytical solution is obtained for the linearized Poisson-Boltzmann equation. This analytical solution is applicable to saddle-like structures and reduces to the solutions known previously for planar, cylindrical, and spherical aggregates. For micellar junctions, our new analytical solution is in excellent agreement with numerical results over the range of parameters typical of ionic surfactant systems with branching micelles. Our model correctly predicts the sequence of stable aggregate morphologies, including a narrow bicontinuous zone, in dependence of hydrocarbon tail length, head size, and solution salinity. For predicting properties of a spatial network of wormlike micelles, our aggregation free energy is used in the Zilman-Safran theory. Our predictions are compared with experimental data for branching micelles of ionic surfactants.

This paper presents results of estimated radiation risks of non-cancer thyroid diseases in the people from Kaluga and Bryansk regions of the Russian Federation exposed in their childhood to radioiodine as a result of the Chernobyl accident. This work was carried out under the Joint Medical Research Project on non-cancer thyroid diseases conducted by Sasakawa Memorial Health Foundation and the Medical Radiological Research Center of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences. The subjects were 2,457 people who underwent health examinations from 1997 to the end of 1999 who had individual radiometric thyroid data obtained between May and June 1986 and were aged 10 y or less at the time of exposure. The thyroid absorbed doses from incorporated 131I were estimated on the basis of measurements of exposure dose rate in the vicinity of the subject's thyroid and liver. A compartment model accounting for 131I metabolism in humans and cows was used. The estimated dose varied from 0 to 6 Gy, and its distribution was approximately lognormal with a mean of 0.132 Gy and standard deviation of 0.45 Gy. The prevalence of diffuse goiter in males showed a significant dose-response (p = 0.03) with an estimated odds ratio 1.36 at 1 Gy.

Complex clinical and microbiological and epidemiological study of specificity of hospital infections was conducted in surgical clinics of Military and Medical Academy. Analysis of the materials obtained has permitted to develop the classification of agents of modern hospital surgical infections, to study the variety and specificity of forming of microorganism hospital strains. To optimize the system of sanitary and epidemiological inspection on hospital infections and to improve their prophylaxis it is proposed to introduce into the practice of bacteriological laboratories of military medical and prophylactic institutions the quantitative microbiological examinations of clinical material. Besides it is reasonable to have in the stuff of multipurpose military hospitals the post of hospital epidemiologist trained in the actual problems of clinical microbiology, hospital hygiene and surgical infection.

A novel scheme for an interferometric microscope with which to visualize a geometrical spin-redirection phase image that represents the local inclination of microsurface structures of an object is proposed. The observed phase depends on the state of polarization and the optical constants of the object material, which enable one to distinguish the spin-redirection phase from the conventional dynamical-phase. A preliminary experiment was performed, and the phase images obtained were found to be consistent with those predicted by computer simulation based on a theoretical model.

We report the first observation of the Cabibbo-suppressed charm baryon decay Ξ_{c}^{+}→pK^{-}π^{+}. We observe 150±22±5 events for the signal. The data were accumulated using the SELEX spectrometer during the 1996-1997 fixed target run at Fermilab, chiefly from a 600 GeV/c Σ^{-} beam. The branching fractions of the decay relative to the Cabibbo-favored Ξ_{c}^{+}→Σ^{+}K^{-}π^{+} and Ξ_{c}^{+}→Ξ^{-}π^{+}π^{+} are measured to be B(Ξ_{c}^{+}→pK^{-}π^{+})/B(Ξ_{c}^{+}→Σ^{+}K^{-}π^{+})=0.22±0.06±0.03 and B(Ξ_{c}^{+}→pK^{-}π^{+})/B(Ξ_{c}^{+}→Ξ^{-}π^{+}π^{+})=0.20±0.04±0.02, respectively.

To permit unified analysis and simultaneous evaluation of geometrical spin-redirection phase and Pancharatnam phase, the conventional 2 x 2 Jones matrix calculation is generalized and a new scheme of 3 x 3 matrix calculation is proposed. With the proposed algorithm one can trace the polarization state changes and the geometric phase shifts caused by beam propagation along an arbitrary optical path that involves both reflection and refraction at surfaces with Fresnel shift and birefringence.
