Background & Objective: Colorectal cancer is the second reason for cancerassociated death. The prognosis of the malignancy is defined by TNM scoring. However, tumor grading, lymphovascular invasion, perineural invasion, and tumor buddings may affect its prognosis. This study aimed to assess the prognostic and histologic impact of tumor budding in colorectal adenocarcinoma. Methods: This study is a retrospective cohort of 192 patients with colorectal adenocarcinoma. All four stages of colorectal adenocarcinoma patients were included, but the patients in stages I and II were also analyzed separately. We used pathology reports to extract the histopathologic data. The prognostic values were extracted by calling the patients. Results: Less than half of the patients were in stages I and II of the disease. According to our analysis, tumor extension and lymphovascular invasion were correlated with tumor budding count in patients in stages I and II, and lymphovascular invasion, tumor grade, tumor stage, lymph node involvement, tumor extension, tumor site, metastasis, and five-year survival were correlated with tumor budding within all stages. Conclusion: It is recommended that tumor budding count should be assessed and reported in pathology reports of adenocarcinomas due to its high correlation with poor prognosis. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Background: Celiac disease is one of the most common genetic allergies worldwide. The prevalence of celiac disease in Iran is similar to or even higher than the global prevalence. Celiac disease is a chronic inflammatory disease that affects the small intestine. Affected patients are allergic to gluten protein that exists in some grains, such as wheat and barley. Methods: Serological endomysial IgA antibody (EMA-AB) and tissue transglutaminase IgA antibody (TTG-IgA) tests were performed on 114 patients aged the ages of 0-18 years with histopathological findings of celiac disease. The results of these tests were compared to the results of the histopathological study of the duodenal biopsy. Results: Based on the receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve and a calculation of the TTG-IgA test's sensitivity and specificity, the best diagnostic limit for the TTG-IgA test is 144, which has the best sensitivity and specificity. At this value (cut-off), the test's sensitivity was 62%, and the specificity was 93.7%. For the endomysial test, sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value (PPV), and negative predictive value (NPV) were 80%, 93%, 90%, and 75%, respectively. Conclusion: The diagnostic accuracy of the endomysial test is better than that of the TTG-IgA test in general for diagnosing patients with celiac disease. In the TTG-IgA test, false-positive cases are high due to a cut-off of 20, reducing the test's specificity. In these false-positive cases, the endomysial test helps in better diagnosis. Hyperglycemia, a distinguishing feature of diabetes mellitus that might cause a diabetic foot ulcer (DFU), is an endocrine disorder that affects an extremely high percentage of people. Having a comprehensive understanding of the molecular mechanisms underlying the pathophysiology of diabetic wound healing can help researchers and developers design effective therapeutic strategies to treat the wound healing process in diabetes patients. Using nanoscaffolds and nanotherapeutics with dimensions ranging from 1 to 100 nm represents a state‐of‐the‐art and viable therapeutic strategy for accelerating the wound healing process in diabetic patients, particularly those with DFU. Nanoparticles can interact with biological constituents and infiltrate wound sites owing to their reduced diameter and enhanced surface area. Furthermore, it is noteworthy that they promote the processes of vascularization, cellular proliferation, cell signaling, cell‐to‐cell interactions, and the formation of biomolecules that are essential for effective wound healing. Nanomaterials possess the ability to effectively transport and deliver various pharmacological agents, such as nucleic acids, growth factors, antioxidants, and antibiotics, to specific tissues, where they can be continuously released and affect the wound healing process in DFU. The present article elucidates the ongoing endeavors in the field of nanoparticle‐mediated therapies for the management of DFU. Significance statement: To sum up, this study emphasizes that it may be feasible to develop better treatments for improperly healed diabetic wounds by studying the molecular mechanics of diabetic wound healing. As new products, nanomaterials can transfer nucleic acids, growth factors, antioxidants, and antibiotics to specified tissues for continuous release. Moreover, nanomaterials are more likely to interact with biological systems and infiltrate wound sites due to their smaller diameter and larger surface area. Introduction: Most neuroendocrine tumor [NET] occurs in lungs, appendix, small intestine, rectum and pancreas. The main objective of this study was investigating clinicopathology in patients with neuroendocrine tumor of the lung. Methods: In this present study we evaluated clinicopathological characteristics of 67 patients with lung neuroendocrine tumor reffered to our center from 2016 to 2021 Results: The mean age was 56.62 years. Neuroendocrine tumors were more common in sixth decade [35.8%] of life. 76% were male and 23.9% were female. The most common types of neuroendocrine tumors were small cell lung cancer [SCLC], and typical carcinoid [TC] with frequencies of 56.3% and 23.4%, respectively. The frequency of large cell neuroendocrine carcinoma [LCNEC] and atypical carcinoid [AC] was 10.9% and 9.4%, respectively. So that typical carcinoid tumor was the most prevalent type in the fourth decade. However, SCLC and LCNEC tumors were more prevalent in the sixth decade, and 70% of atypical tumors were prevalent in patients under 40 years of age. TC, SCLC, and LCNEC tumors were more common in men compared to women. Besides, the average mitotic index in TC, AC, SCLC, and LCNEC tumors was 2.7%, 7.5%, 75.4%, and 54.16%, respectively. Conclusion: Our data revealed the clinicopathological status of neuroendocrine tumor of the lung. So, paying attention to the clinical condition, age, gender of patients in this regard helps in timely diagnosis of this disease. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Neonatal lupus erythematosus is an immune-mediated disease caused by transplacental passage of maternal autoantibodies, primarily anti-Ro (SSA) and anti-La (SSB). The major clinical manifestations are congenital heart block, cutaneous lupus lesions, and hematologic problems. Hepatic, pulmonary, and neurological involvements are rare. We report a 5-day-old male neonate, born to a clinically asymptomatic mother, presenting with conjugated hyperbilirubinemia, cutaneous lupus lesions, congenital heart block, and thrombocytopenia. Both the neonate and his mother had high titers of antinuclear antibodies (1:640), anti-Ro (SSA), and anti-La (SSB) antibodies. The thrombocytopenia improved with prednisolone (2 mg/kg/day) for 14 days. The skin lupus rashes and bilirubin resolved 2 months later, and liver enzymes were completely normal by 6 months.
