Janos Szentagothai, one of the leading neuroscientists of the 20th century, died of cardiac failure on Sep. 8, 1994. The consummate scientist-teacher Renaissance man, Szentagothai interspersed his anatomy lectures with the values of human nature, providing inspiration to generations of medical students.
