Background To improve the diagnostic accuracy of the state of consciousness of patients with severe brain injury, Giacino et al. introduced the Coma Recovery Scale (CRS) in 1991, which underwent revision in 2004, resulting in the revised CRS scale (CRS-R).

Malignant lymphoma is an unusual form of gallbladder neoplasm. Almost all these tumors are diffuse large B-cell lymphomas or mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue-type lymphomas. Herein, we present a literature review of gallbladder Burkitt’s lymphoma (BL) cases that includes also an unpublished case in an HIV-infected child, observed by our center. The patient (a five-year-old black female child) attended the Federal Hospital of Lagoa, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, underwent cholecystectomy, and the postoperative pathological analysis of the gallbladder revealed a diagnosis of BL (EBV-positive). Also, HIV serology was performed and returned positive. She was transferred to the Martagão Gesteira Institute of Pediatrics and Childcare for oncological treatment, dying from sepsis and disease progression about 18 months later. The patient did not undergo ART/cART. Previous cases of gallbladder BL were herein described and analyzed to characterize the clinicopathological features and possible similarities. BL can occur in the gallbladder both in the context of HIV infection and in the pediatric population. A biopsy is mandatory in cases with suggestive findings of lymphoma, and an early diagnosis can change the course of the disease. Furthermore, the case highlights the importance of an early initiation of ART/cART in people living with HIV (PLWH), especially in children.

Este ensaio aborda a mediação, a formação docente e os processos de leitura, escrita e brincadeira na Educação Infantil, reconhecendo-os como elementos fundamentais para a construção da cultura escrita e a formação dos sujeitos, em especial das crianças, à luz do sistema simbólico. A análise é norteada pela questão: como superar lacunas na prática pedagógica, a fim de promover uma integração efetiva entre o brincar, a linguagem escrita e a formação docente na Educação Infantil? Respaldada numa pesquisa qualitativa e bibliográfica, com base nos estudos de Conceição (2018), Nóvoa (2022), Paulo Freire (1996, 2010), Soares (1999) e Vigotski (1988, 1998, 2003), compreende-se que o brincar constitui a base para os processos de mediação e formação docente, estreitamente relacionado à cultura. Nesse contexto, entende-se que a inventividade humana, que entrelaça linguagem e realidade, representa tanto um direito das crianças quanto um desafio para a formação docente.

Introduction Long-acting injectable (LAI) cabotegravir is a promising new method for preventing HIV. Safe and effective long-acting agents for pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) for HIV infection are needed to increase preventive options among sexual and gender minority adolescents.Methods and analysis This is a multisite, prospective implementation study of three PrEP modalities (LAI-PrEP, event-driven (ED) and daily oral), using a mixed-method design with quantitative and qualitative approaches. The study will include a sample of 550 HIV-negative adolescent men who have sex with men, non-binary individuals assigned male at birth, transgender men and women, aged 15–19 years, in three Brazilian capital cities. Participants will be allocated into two arms, according to their choice of PrEP modalities, and followed up to 36 months. Switching between oral and LAI-PrEP will be allowed, according to the participants’ needs and preferences. The qualitative studies will focus on investigating the processes involved in linkage and retention in care, switching between PrEP modalities and strategies of the implementation process of LAI-PrEP in the current PrEP programming and acceptability from health providers, policymakers and stakeholders’ perspectives.Ethics and dissemination The adolescent’s autonomy for consenting to their participation and understanding of PrEP will be assessed by the project team before any care is given and will be recorded in their medical record. Adolescents aged 15–17 years will sign an informed assent form, waiving the need for the approval of a legal guardian, except in cases where the adolescent is found not to have the necessary autonomy. The study was approved by the WHO Ethics Review Committee and by the local IRBs from the universities coordinating the study, the University of São Paulo, the Federal University of Bahia and the Federal University of Minas Gerais. This project is part of an effort to expedite the inclusion of new modalities in the Brazilian PrEP Programme, based on the development of studies to evaluate the implementation of LAI-PrEP and ED-PrEP as a choice. Objetivo: Analisar o perfil clínico-epidemiológico de pacientes oncológicos internados em uma Unidade de Terapia Intensiva Pediátrica. Metodologia: Estudo quantitativo, retrospectivo e transversal, sendo executado a partir do levantamento dos dados fornecidos pela farmácia clínica do Hospital Universitário Materno Infantil, da Universidade Federal do Maranhão, localizada em São Luís - MA. Resultados: Os tipos de cânceres infanto-juvenis predominantes foram tumores do sistema nervoso central, (77,5% dos prontuários). Identificou-se que houve maior prevalência de câncer em crianças com até 5 anos de idade (40%) e predominância no sexo masculino (57,5%). Em relação aos tratamentos identificados, 50% fizeram terapia medicamentosa associado à antibioticoterapia, foi constatado que em 5% desses pacientes foi usado quimioterapia. Conclusão: Constata-se que as internações por câncer no sistema nervoso central foram frequentes no estudo e que a população mais acometida foram crianças do sexo masculino e que a idade mais afetada foi de até cinco anos de idade. ABSTRACT Objective: To analyze the clinical-epidemiological profile of cancer patients admitted to a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. Methodology: Quantitative, retrospective and cross-sectional study, carried out by collecting data provided by the clinical pharmacy of the Hospital Universitário Materno Infantil, of the Universidade Federal do Maranhão located in São Luís - MA. Results: The predominant types of childhood cancers were tumors of the central nervous system (77.5% of medical records). It was identified that there was a higher incidence of cancer in children up to five years old (40%) and a predominance in males (57.5%). In relation to the treatments identified, 50% used drug therapy associated with antibiotic therapy, it was found that 5% of these patients used chemotherapy. Conclusion: It was found that hospitalizations due to cancer in the central nervous system were frequent in the study and that the most affected population were male children and that the most affected age was up to five years of age.

Introdução/objetivos: Linfomas de vesícula biliar são particularmente incomuns. Apenas três relatos documentaram linfomas de Burkitt (LB) de vesícula biliar. Este é um relato de caso de LB de vesícula biliar em uma criança vivendo com HIV, o primeiro na literatura na população pediátrica e em indivíduos que vivem com HIV. Materiais e métodos: Relato de caso de criança do sexo feminino, cinco anos de idade, com LB de vesícula biliar. Paciente acompanhada em dois importantes hospitais federais do Rio de Janeiro, Brasil. Análise morfológica e estudo imunohistoquímico da biópsia realizados conforme a OMS, 2022. Resultados: Paciente previamente hígida e sem história familiar para neoplasias. Nasceu em 03/09/94, parto normal, pré-natal completo. Aleitamento materno exclusivo até os dois anos de idade. Em 16/06/99, iniciou quadro de vômitos, dor abdominal, diarreia, icterícia e prurido, além de sintomas B. Internada no 1° Hospital em 20/06/99, diagnosticada com suboclusão intestinal por Ascaris lumbricoides, e desenvolveu colangite grave dias depois apesar do tratamento com albendazol 400 mg, dose única. Submetida à colecistectomia de emergência em 15/07/99. Exame histopatológico pós-operatório da vesícula em 16/07/99 revelou LB, neoplasia definidora de AIDS. Em 28/07/99, realizada sorologia para HIV (ELISA), positiva, e infecção caracterizada como transmissão vertical. Paciente transferida para o 2° Hospital em 31/07/99 para tratamento oncológico (estágio IVB). Por protocolos do período, não fez uso de profilaxias ou terapia antirretroviral (TARV). Em 23/09/00 encontrava-se em remissão clínica ao término da quimioterapia com m-BACOD e, em 04/10/00, apresentou recidiva em sistema nervoso central. Evoluiu com piora clínica progressiva, falecendo por sepse e progressão da doença em 24/12/00. O bloco de parafina foi reavaliado por hematopatologista em 19/08/22, e o diagnóstico confirmado por análise microscópica e estudo imunohistoquímico conforme a OMS, 2022 (positividade para CD20, CD10, Ki67 99%; EBV + via sonda EBER1). Conclusões: O LB pode ocorrer na vesícula biliar tanto no contexto da infecção pelo HIV como na população pediátrica. O diagnóstico final é obtido através da análise histopatológica da biópsia. Além disso, a TARV deve ser iniciada de forma precoce por estar relacionada à recuperação da contagem de células T CD4+ e, consequentemente, à redução da mortalidade pela imunossupressão pelo HIV – como por infecções oportunistas e neoplasias malignas. Penile squamous cell carcinoma (PSCC) is a largely neglected condition, predominantly affecting underdeveloped regions, and is associated with risk factors such as low socioeconomic status, phimosis, and human papillomavirus (HPV) infection. Unlike other urogenital cancers, its pathophysiology and therapeutic targets remain poorly understood, particularly regarding the immune response to the tumor microenvironment. This study aims to investigate immune cell infiltration profiles, dendritic cell maturation, and lymphocyte apoptosis in both HPV-positive and HPV-negative PSCC. Clinical and histopathological data, along with peripheral blood and tumor tissue samples, were collected from 30 patients (66.6% were HPV-positive and 33.3% HPV-negative), with an additional 19 healthy donors serving as controls. Tumor-infiltrating immune cells were analyzed following enzymatic digestion of tumor tissue, enabling detailed phenotypic characterization. A simulated tumor microenvironment was created using supernatants derived from primary cultures of HPV-positive PSCC tumors. Peripheral blood mononuclear cells were isolated and differentiated into dendritic cells (Mo-DCs) for further phenotyping and lymphoproliferation assays. Lymphocytes from healthy donors and patients were exposed to tumor culture supernatants to evaluate apoptosis induced by the tumor microenvironment. Results showed that HPV-positive tumors exhibited lower T lymphocyte frequencies compared to HPV-negative tumors. Additionally, patients infected with high-risk HPV demonstrated reduced maturation rates of Mo-DCs and decreased expression of co-stimulatory molecules on these cells compared to healthy donors. Furthermore, Mo-DCs from hrHPV-positive patients showed impaired lymphoproliferation capacity relative to controls, while HPV-negative patients exhibited a trend towards reduced lymphoproliferative ability. Regarding the simulated tumor microenvironment, lymphocytes from healthy donors underwent apoptosis, contrasting with patients' lymphocytes, which showed increased viability when cultured with tumor supernatants. These results underscore the impact of HPV infection on T lymphocyte infiltration, Mo-DC maturation, and lymphocyte survival in PSCC, offering critical insights for advancing our understanding of the tumor microenvironment and guiding the development of immunotherapy strategies.

A educação a distância (EaD) no Brasil está sujeita a diretrizes legais, incluindo leis e regulamentos que enfatizam a curricularização da extensão e a presencialidade como componentes essenciais para o impacto social nas Instituições de Ensino Superior (IES). Essas obrigações muitas vezes aparecem desvinculadas do processo de construção do conhecimento e da interação aluno-instituição. Este artigo tem como objetivo avaliar a percepção dos alunos em relação ao Método de Prática da Curricularização da Extensão na EaD (MPCE-EAD), implementado em uma IES localizada no estado de São Paulo. A pesquisa emprega uma abordagem quantitativa, utilizando a ferramenta Net Promoter Score (NPS) para investigar a percepção dos alunos em relação a esse método. Os resultados destacam as contribuições substanciais do MPCE-EAD.

Abstract Fifty Holstein calves were allocated in randomized blocks and distributed in a 2 × 2 factorial arrangement; (A) two sources of Ig: (1) Control: bovine colostrum (25% Brix); (2) Enriched colostrum: mid-quality bovine colostrum (20% Brix) enriched with colostrum replacer to 25% Brix; and (B) two transition feeding diets: (1) Whole milk (WM): supply of 4 L/day of whole milk for 3 days after the colostrum feeding; and (2) Formulated transition milk (FTM): supply 4 L/day of whole milk enriched with 70 g/L of colostrum replacer for 3 days after the colostrum feeding. Blood samples were collected at 0, 24, 48, and 72 h of age to determine total serum protein (TSP), glucose, non-esterified fatty acids (NEFA), erythrocyte and leukocyte concentrations. IgG was measured at 48 h. During the preweaning period, calves received 6 L/day of whole milk. Blood samples were collected weekly to determine TSP, glucose, and lactate. The colostrum protocols were equally efficient for transfer of passive immunity with IgG concentration at 48 h ≥ 49.6 g/L. Colostrum or transition feeding program did not influence the erythrocyte and leukocyte concentrations. The TSP concentration measured until 72 h was higher for calves fed maternal colostrum. Calves fed milk in the transition period had higher glucose concentrations. Calves receiving bovine colostrum and FTM had higher glucose concentrations in the preweaning period, while the enriched colostrum decreased plasma lactate concentrations. In summary, enrichment of mid-quality colostrum is an alternative in situations of a shortage of high-quality colostrum; however, feeding 4 L/day of FTM only for 3 days after colostrum feeding does not show additional benefits.

Juçara is an important element for biodiversity in the Atlantic Forest, not only providing a rich source of nutritional and bioactive compounds, but also holding promising potential for sustainability. However, despite its virtues, there remains a dearth of studies fully exploring its potential. In our pioneering study, conducted using a panel of eight trained specialists, we delved into a sensory analysis of dehydrated juçara pulp, employing both descriptive analysis and the temporal dominance of sensations (TDS) technique. The findings revealed striking differences between juçara and açaí, not only in terms of flavor and aroma, but also in their potential to drive more mindful eating habits. By promoting the consumption of juçara, we are supporting the sustainability of the Atlantic Forest, where it is cultivated in an environmentally responsible manner. Thus, we are contributing to the preservation of this unique ecosystem and the well-being of local communities.

Sweet cherry (Prunus avium L.) is a highly valued fruit, and optimal nutrient management is crucial for enhancing yield and fruit quality. However, the over-application of chemical fertilizers in cherry cultivation leads to environmental issues such as soil degradation and nutrient runoff. To address this, foliar application, a more targeted and eco-friendly fertilization method, presents a promising alternative. This study evaluates the effects of pre-harvest foliar application of calcium (Ca) (150 and 300 g hL−1) and seaweed extracts (75 and 150 mL hL−1), both individually and in combination, on the physiological and biochemical responses of ‘Burlat’ sweet cherry trees. Key physiological parameters, including plant water status, photosynthetic performance, and leaf metabolites, were analyzed. Results show that trees treated with seaweed extracts or with combined Ca and seaweed application had improved water status, higher sugar, starch, and protein content, as well as enhanced antioxidant activity and phenolic content compared to those treated solely with calcium. However, the combined treatment did not significantly enhance overall tree performance compared to individual applications. This study highlights the potential of seaweed-based biostimulants in sustainable cherry production.

O artigo analisa duas expedições científicas na região do Polígono das Secas. Uma do Ifocs (1932) sobre piscicultura nos rios e açudes da região e a outra da Unesco (1953-1954) buscando dados sobre recursos minerais e geologia. Embora contassem com recursos, essas expedições não geraram legados duradouros nas instituições de ciência e nem intervenção nas secas no Semiárido. Nas expedições destaca-se ausência de valores regionalistas: estes que justificaram a fundação de muitas instituições de ciência no Nordeste no século passado. Analisar esse fator ausente no olhar “estrangeiro” das expedições implica debater as vias de legitimação de um campo da ciência no tema das secas durante o século XX no Nordeste brasileiro.

This study aimed to evaluate the effects of dietary digestible protein levels on the growth dynamics and oxidative stress status of white muscle fibers in Amazonian Pintado (Pseudoplatystoma reticulatum × Leiarius marmoratus). Four hundred and fifty-five juveniles of Amazonian Pintado were fed diets containing varying digestible protein levels (225, 250, 275, 300, 325, 350, or 375 g kg−1) for 75 days. At the end of the experiment, the fish were fasted for 24 h, anesthetized, and euthanized to obtain muscle samples. The linear and quadratic effects of dietary digestible protein levels on white muscle fiber diameter, metabolite concentrations, and oxidative stress were assessed. The results revealed that increasing dietary digestible protein levels linearly raised the concentrations of free amino acids and total proteins in muscle tissue but also led to elevated levels of TBARS, indicating increased oxidative stress. Notably, the average area of muscle fibers with a cell area greater than 1133 µm2 decreased, reflecting restricted muscle hypertrophy, whereas glycogen and glucose levels also declined. These findings suggest that although high dietary digestible protein enhances protein and free amino acid concentrations in muscle tissue, it may compromise muscle hypertrophy and increase oxidative damage in Amazonian Pintado, underscoring the complexity of optimizing diet formulation.

The consumption of blueberries has increased in recent years due to their excellent flavor and high antioxidant activity, which promote human well-being and health. Several sustainable cultural practices, such as biostimulants, have been applied to increase crop performance. The pre-harvest foliar application of two doses of a biostimulant based on the macroalgae Ecklonia maxima (EM), two doses of a glycine–betaine (GB) biostimulant, and two doses of the combination of the biostimulants in ‘Duke’ and ‘Draper’ blueberry cultivars in 2022 and 2023 were studied. The application of 4 L ha−1 EM significantly increased the yield of ‘Draper’ blueberries, while the same occurred in ‘Duke’ fruits treated with 4 L ha−1 EM + 4 kg ha−1 GB. The blueberries sprayed with both doses of EM + GB were heavier and larger. ‘Duke’ fruits treated with EM were firmer and, following 4 L ha−1 EM + 4 kg ha−1 GB treatment, presented a lower concentration of organic acids, determined by HPLC, greater sensorial sweetness, and lower acidity. Therefore, these biostimulants are recommended for a more environmentally friendly production perspective, as they may increase blueberry yield and improve fruit quality.

Allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (allo-HSCT) is the only treatment with the potential for cure in patients with myelodysplastic neoplasm (MDS). Nevertheless, disease relapse is the main cause of treatment failure. Due to the rarity of childhood MDS (cMDS), there are few studies showing the impact of cytogenetic alterations and genetic variants on outcomes of allo-HSCT, mainly focusing on clonal chromosomal evolution (CCE) during relapse post-transplant. Here, we describe a 3-year-old boy with cMDS-IB, who evolved to MDS/AML. At diagnosis, the patient showed a complex karyotype with chromosomal abnormalities not yet reported together in the same clone, and likely a pathogenic variant in the ETV6 gene. The patient was treated with HLA-matched sibling HSCT, but unfortunately relapsed after HSCT with clonal cytogenetic evolution. This unfavorable outcome suggests that the treatment of pediatric MDS associated with predictive factors of poor prognosis, such as complex karyotype and ETV6 variant remains a challenge.

Em um segundo momento, e partindo do que é exposto por Oliveira, propomos-nos a uma leitura desses espectros e fragmentos “retornantes” do passado, presentes no livro de Saidiyaia Hartman, Perder a mãe: uma jornada pela rota atlântica da escravidão (2021). Ao fim, retomamos determinadas reflexões e caminhos suscitados para a pesquisa na área como, por exemplo, a necessária reorganização da linguagem, o espaço do subalternizado na representação, e os demais desafios que nos foram provocados pelo texto de Maria da Glória de Oliveira.

The chemical and nutritional characteristics of the four distillers dried grains with solubles (DDGS) were determined for dry matter (DM), mineral matter (MM), crude protein (CP), ether extract (EE), neutral detergent fiber (NDF) and gross energy analyzed (GEa), from which the values of gross energy (GE), digestible energy (DE), metabolizable energy (ME) and net energy (NE) were estimated. There were differences in the contents of EE, NDF, GEa, GE, DE, ME and NE between the lots. A total of 40 barrows with an initial weight of 72.69 ± 5.66 kg were assigned to a randomized block design, fed diets containing 0, 100, 200 and 300 g kg-1 DDGS for 28 days and were subjected to performance assessment. The inclusion of DDGS in the diets did not affect daily feed intake (DFI), daily weight gain (DWG) or feed conversion (FC) but linearly reduced the final weight. Based on the results of the performance and prices of ingredients in the local market, we calculated the costs of feed, revenue and gross operating profit (GOP). Inclusions of DDGS in pig diets reduced costs and revenues but did not affect GOP. DDGS presented chemical and nutritional variation between the lots. Levels of inclusion up to 300 g kg-1 DDGS do not affect finishing pig performance and profitability.

This study aimed to determine the values of net energy (NE), digestible energy (DE) and metabolizable energy (ME) and digestibility coefficients of corn ethanol coproducts produced in Brazil and their effects on the nitrogen balance and blood parameters of pigs. Ten barrows were housed in metabolic study cages for total collection and fed a reference diet (RD) or 800 g/kg RD + 200 g/kg of a coproduct of corn ethanol. Distiller’s dried grains with solubles (DDGS), corn bran with solubles (CBS), distiller’s dried grains (DDG) and high-protein distiller’s dried grain (HPDDG) were evaluated. The experimental design was randomized blocks with three repetitions per period, totaling six repetitions per diet. Diets containing the HPDDG had greater DE and ME than those containing CBS and DDGS and greater DE than those containing the DDG (p < 0.05). HPDDG, DDG, CBS and DDGS showed 4498, 3419, 3029 and 3335 kcal/kg DE; 4366, 3305, 2934 and 3214 kcal/kg ME; and 2515, 1938, 1649 and 1725 kcal/kg NE, respectively. Pigs fed diets containing HPDDG and CBS showed greater nitrogen retention efficiency than pigs fed DDGS (p < 0.05). Pigs fed diets containing HPDDG had higher blood urea levels than pigs fed CBS and RD, while triglyceride levels in animals that received the CBS diet were greater than those in animals that received all other diets. The HPDDG had the highest energy levels and the best digestibility coefficients. The chemical composition of coproducts influences the nitrogen balance and circulating levels of urea and triglycerides in pigs.

Background and objective: Pediatric myelodysplastic syndrome (pMDS) is a group of rare clonal neoplasms with a difficult diagnosis and risk of progression to acute myeloid leukemia (AML). The early stratification in risk groups is essential to choosing the treatment and indication for allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT). According to the Revised International Prognostic Scoring System, cytogenetic analysis has demonstrated an essential role in diagnosis and prognosis. In pMDS, abnormal karyotypes are present in 30-50% of the cases. Monosomy 7 is the most common chromosomal alteration associated with poor prognosis. However, the rarity of specific cytogenetic alterations makes its prognosis uncertain. Thus, this study aimed to describe uncommon cytogenetic alterations in a cohort of 200 pMDS patients and their association with evolution to AML. Methods: The cytogenetic analysis was performed in 200 pMDS patients by G-banding and fluorescence in situ hybridization between 2000 to 2022. Results: Rare chromosome alterations were observed in 7.5% (15/200) of the cases. These chromosome alterations were divided into four cytogenetic groups: hyperdiploidy, biclonal chromosomal alterations, translocations, and uncommon deletions, which represented 33.3%, 33.3%, 20%, and 13.3%, respectively. Most of these patients (10/15) were classified with advanced MDS (MDS-EB and MDS/AML) and the initial subtype was present in five patients (RCC). The leukemic evolution was observed in 66.66% (10/15) of the patients. Most patients had poor clinical outcomes and they were indicated for HSCT. Conclusion: The study of uncommon cytogenetic alterations in pMDS is important to improve the prognosis and guide early indication of HSCT. Acute kidney injury is a common complication of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) infection. Several pathologic findings are continually being reported, showing a probably multifactorial etiology. The authors present a case of a patient diagnosed with a tip lesion variant of focal segmental glomerulosclerosis (FSGS) in the setting of COVID-19. A 43-year-old African American female with no known renal disease presented to the emergency department with a 6-day history of fatigue, headache, hypoageusia, myalgia, cough, nausea, and vomiting. Laboratory tests confirmed SARS-CoV-2 infection. During hospitalization, there was a progressive decline in kidney function and evidence of nephrotic-range proteinuria without nephrotic syndrome. Biopsy specimen showed a tip lesion variant of FSGS. Genetic test revealed a homozygous variant of uncertain clinical significance (c.397G>A [p.V133M]) in the epithelial membrane protein 2 (EMP2) gene. To our knowledge, this is the first case report of a tip lesion in a COVID-19 patient with no renal history. More studies are warranted to define susceptible groups and identify the detailed mechanisms of COVID-19-related kidney disease that would allow for specific management of this complication.

Introdução: Linfomas relacionados ao HIV são geralmente agressivos e de mau prognóstico, apesar do uso de terapia antirretroviral combinada (TARVc) e do tratamento quimioterápico. Em crianças, com o sistema imune ainda em desenvolvimento, trazem sérias consequências. Objetivo: Determinar a sobrevida e os fatores prognósticos em crianças e adolescentes no Rio de Janeiro (RJ), Brasil, vivendo com HIV/aids (CVHA) que desenvolveram linfomas. Métodos: Estudo retrospectivo e observacional de pacientes infectados verticalmente, com idades entre 0 e 20 anos incompletos, durante os anos de 1995-2018, em 5 centros de referência para tratamento de HIV/AIDS e câncer pediátrico. Foram calculadas as probabilidades de sobrevida global (SG), de sobrevida livre de eventos (SLE) e de sobrevida livre de doença (SLD) dessa população. Foi realizada a análise uni- e multivariada por meio da regressão de Cox para determinação dos fatores prognósticos. Os riscos competitivos para os diferentes desfechos do estudo, em 20 anos, também foram calculados. Resultados: Uma coorte de 1.306 pacientes foi inserida, e 25 deles desenvolveram linfomas. Dos 25 linfomas observados, 19 eram neoplasias definidoras de aids (ADM) e 6 eram neoplasias não definidoras de aids (NADM). As probabilidades de SG e de SLE em 5 anos foram 32,00% (95% IC = 13,72%–50,23%), e a probabilidade de SLD em 5 anos foi 53,30% (95% IC = 28,02%–78,58%). Na análise multivariada, o ECOG Performance Status (PS) 4 foi o único fator de mau prognóstico para a SG (HR 4,85, 95% IC 1,81–12,97, p = 0,002) e para a SLE (HR 4,95, 95% IC 1,84–13,34, p = 0,002). Na análise da SLD, o aumento da contagem de linfócitos T CD4+ foi o único fator encontrado e relacionado a um melhor prognóstico (HR 0,86, 95% IC 0,76–0,97, p = 0,017). Para morte devido à progressão da doença/resposta não completa, o risco competitivo foi de 40,00% (95% IC = 20,20%–59,80%); para morte relacionada ao tratamento foi de 20,00% (95% IC = 3,65%–36,35%), e para recaída foi de 12,57% (95% IC = 0,00%–26,70%). Conclusão: Este é o primeiro estudo pediátrico brasileiro que demonstra a sobrevida e os fatores prognósticos de CVHA que desenvolveram linfomas. O PS 4 como fator de mau prognóstico para SG indica que pacientes com elevados graus de PS poderiam se beneficiar de quimioterapia de baixa intensidade até melhora do quadro clínico. Além disso, baixas contagens de linfócitos T CD4+ como fator de mau prognóstico para a SLD confirmam a importância da adesão à TARVc.

In 2020, Portugal had an average strawberry production of 10 thousand tons, and 15 % was considered strawberry plant residues. This work proposed a new product that uses the compounds extracted from the strawberry residues - stem and leaves, excluding the fruit - as an active ingredient for cosmetic application. Strawberry leaves were extracted with 50 % ethanol. This extract mainly consists of lactic acid, ascorbic acid, ascorbic acid, and agrimoniin; these compounds are used in the chemical industry due to their antioxidant properties. A gel-cream formulation with 17.5 % strawberry leaves extracts was proposed. It proposed an industrial-scale production and a preliminary economic analysis to evaluate the project's profitability. The Net Present Value (NPV) was estimated as 3.40 M€ (4th year), and the pay-back time is on eight quarters.

A noção de cisgeneridade, da maneira como é tematizada pelo transfeminismo brasileiro, mais do que marcar os sujeitos cuja identidade de gênero coincide com o sexo designado no nascimento, permite colocar sob análise crítica o funcionamento das normas que produzem a ideia de um sexo natural e estável. Assim, trata-se, sobretudo, de problematizar as formas por meio das quais a cisgeneridade funciona como norma, projetando-se como expressão verdadeira do sexo e organizando o domínio de inteligibilidade do gênero.
