We report a case of Sneathia amnii as the causative agent of maternal chorioamnionitis and congenital pneumonia resulting in a late fetal death in Mozambique, with strong supportive postmortem molecular and histopathologic confirmation. This rare, fastidious gram-negative coccobacillus has been reported to infrequently cause abortions, stillbirths, and neonatal infections.

This study was partially financed by an unrestricted grant from AstraZeneca Pharmaceutical Spain. The funders had no role in the study design, data col-lection and analysis, decision to publish or preparation of the manuscript. Influenza is often misdiagnosed in children because of the low sensitivity of clinical diagnosis because of nonspecific signs and symptoms. This can be overcome by using digital immunoassays or rapid molecular diagnostic tests with adequate sensitivity and specificity. When using these tests at the patient care site, antibiotic consumption and number of healthcare consultations were reduced.

(Arthur Schopenhauer). In a modern competitive market, it’s vital that companies improve their processes. The elimination of activities that don’t add value allows them to get significant earnings in matter of resources and time. The cost of the product becomes lower, consequently, the companies can practice lower prices for the same value offered to the client, improving their competitive advantage in the market. The project described in this report was developed in the context of the Masters in Management Industrial Engineering and was mainly dedicated to the application of Lean Manufacturing principles, methods and techniques to a metal engineering company, the Gestamp Aveiro. The work had as main objective to implement solutions that could identify and eliminate waste in the execution of change of tools, of stamping and production of welded parts, through the methodology Single Minute Exchange of Die (SMED) and the Standard Work. Besides identify situations of waste at an equipment level, the study allowed the analysis of operational methods used by the operators in order to find possible improvements of productivity, quality and, not less important, of ergonomics. The results obtained show that little changes can lead to big improvements and that the cooperation of each person it’s fundamental to promote the continuous improvements in the organization. “The task isn’t that much to see what no one saw before, but think about what no one thought about that thing that everyone sees.” (Arthur Schopenhauer).
