Purpose Identifying and assessing social skills has been a powerful way of linking human behaviour and human interaction with their consequences at significant developmental levels. There are some data connecting social skills with interpersonal violence but not yet with elder abuse. The reason might be the scarcity of quick and easy-to-apply measures of social skills. This study aims to adapt and validate the social skills inventory (SSI) (Del Prette and Del Prette, 2001) to the Portuguese population. Design/methodology/approach The authors conducted two studies. In Study 1, the authors gathered the psychometric characteristics of the SSI-Del-Prette through exploratoryfactor analysis (EFA) and confirmatory factor analysis (CFA). In Study 2, the authors correlated the new measure with measures of depression and empathy to test for divergent and concurrent validity. Findings The obtained version of the SSI-Del-Prette showed a good model fit and internal consistency. This measure presented six factors: conversation and social confidence, easiness of self-exposure, self-expression of positive affect, coping assertively with risk, defending interests and opinions and giving and receiving praise. The indicators of convergent and divergent validity supported the integrity of the measure. Research limitations/implications The adaptation of this measure of social skills opens new possibilities for studying these skills. Originality/value This paper provides an adaptation of a measure of six social skills expanded to the older adult population.

Abarca estudos que abordam temáticas relevantes e contemporâneas na área da saúde, sob diferentes perspectivas, apresentando resultados de pesquisas inéditas, revisões de literatura e relatos de experiências. Sob a ótica da interdisciplinaridade, temas impactantes na saúde pública como a gravidez na adolescência, prevenção de hipertensão e diabetes, dosagem de vitamina D e cálcio sérico entre estudantes de medicina, sistematização da assistência de enfermagem nos diferentes contextos, papel do enfermeiro na assistência pré-natal e na hipoglicemia neonatal, avaliação da qualidade em saúde, humanização da assistência e visita domiciliar. Oportunidade ímpar aos graduandos de contribuir com a transformação da prática profissional, por meio da divulgação da ciência e de boas práticas em saúde, além de sustentar a futura práxis, alicerçada no tripé ensino, pesquisa e extensão. Diante disso, convido o leitor a contemplar as contribuições de cada um dos estudos, os conhecimentos científicos e as vivências aqui compartilhadas. Que ao final, possa despertar reflexões e fomentar o interesse para a pesquisa e a produção de novos estudos. This study aimed to examine the validity of the Brazilian–Portuguese version of the Parental Burnout Assessment (PBA), the current gold‐standard measure of parental burnout (PB). We surveyed parents in Portugal (N = 407) and Brazil (N = 301). We (a) compared the factor structure of the Brazilian–Portuguese version with the original structure of the PBA, (b) tested the adequacy of a second‐order factor structure, (c) evaluated invariance across gender and countries, (d) examined reliability, and (e) evaluated whether PB levels are related to gender, satisfaction with life, and parental self‐efficacy (PSE). Results provided evidence for the validity of the Brazilian–Portuguese PBA and its four facets. Factor models supported the use of both individual facet scores and a global PB score. The structures tested were invariant across countries and gender, and all factors had good reliability. Relations with PSE, life satisfaction, and gender provided initial evidence for validity, and suggested a possible influence of intensive motherhood models.

No. of bitstreams: 0 Previous issue date: 2022-01-01 We carried out a cross-cultural adaptation of the Intergenerational Solidarity Index, for use in Brazil (ISI-BR) with a sample of 682 people between the ages of 18 and 85. We used EFA, CFA and reliability measures. ISI-BR is a 24-item instrument with five factors: Functional solidarity, Affectual solidarity, Normative solidarity–obligations; Normative solidarity–values, and Conflict. Cronbach’s alpha for the full scale was.84 and the composite reliability of the subscales ranged between.69 and.93, suggesting that they have good to excellent precision. We discuss the implications of this instrument for research, professional practice and public policy development. Objective This work aimed to analyze parental burnout (PB) and establish a comparison between the times before (Wave 1) and during (Wave 2) the COVID-19 pandemic. Background The COVID-19 pandemic brought additional stress to families. The pandemic could be particularly difficult for parents experiencing parental burnout, a condition that involves four dimensions: an overwhelming sense of exhaustion, emotional distancing from the child, saturation or a loss of fulfillment with the parental role, and a sharp contrast between how parents used to be and how they see themselves now. Method A quasi-longitudinal research design was adopted, comparing two cross-sectional studies among Portuguese parents (N = 995), with an interval of 2 years between each wave of data collection. Participants were surveyed voluntarily through an online questionnaire located on the institutional web platform of the universities involved in the study. Multivariate analysis of covariance was used to take into account the associations among variables, alongside controlling the possible confounding effects. Results Parents have overall higher parental burnout scores in Wave 2 than Wave 1, with increased exhaustion, emotional distancing, and contrast, but decreased saturation. Although parental burnout levels remain higher for mothers across the two Waves, the growth is greater for fathers than for mothers. Conclusion Reconciling childcare with paid work is a stressful and new experience for many fathers. However, results suggest that even amid a crisis, some parents had the opportunity to deeply bond with their children. Implications We expect this work to encourage stakeholders to consider proper intervention strategies to address potential parental burnout. Also, initiatives that strengthen gender equity within parenting context are needed.

Orientador: Maria Paula Maciel Rando Meirelles Dissertação (mestrado profissional) - Universidade Estadual de Campinas, Faculdade de Odontologia de Piracicaba Resumo: Entende-se judicialização como a influência do Poder Judiciário nas instituições políticas e sociais, e que demonstra as reivindicações de cidadãos e instituições para garantia dos direitos afirmados na legislação nacional e internacional. Este estudo se propõe a descrever o conteúdo das ações ajuizadas contra o município para garantia do acesso à saúde em Limeira-SP, levantar o tipo de demanda solicitada nos processos contra a Prefeitura Municipal e descrever o perfil dos requerentes das ações judiciais. Foram analisados 1412 processos de compra que continham 1968 solicitações com as seguintes variáveis: tipo de solicitação, procurador, origem do atendimento de saúde, e o perfil do requerente. Os pedidos mais frequentes foram medicamentos, dermocosméticos e suplementos nutricionais, seguidos de materiais e insumos, cirurgias e exames e por último pagamento de contas de energia elétrica. As prescrições que vieram de convênios representaram 53,93% da amostra, 18,51% de consultórios particulares e 26,29% com origem no SUS. A representação jurídica predominante foi por meio de advogados particulares, 60,07%, representantes públicos somaram 38,01% dos pedidos, e representantes voluntários 1,17%. Ao identificar o patrono em relação à origem da receita, o predomínio de pedidos por representantes estatais foi observado apenas nas prescrições com origem no SUS (43,03%), dos pacientes que foram atendidos nos convênios 57,80% foram representados por advogados particulares. As classes de medicamentos que mais foram adquiridas estão relacionadas ao tratamento das doenças do sistema cardiovascular, como os anti-hipertensivos e diuréticos. A judicialização da saúde é um meio para o acesso à assistência farmacêutica, principalmente para pacientes que não utilizam os serviços públicos. As solicitações concentram-se em medicamentos para o tratamento de doenças crônicas que possuem protocolos bem estabelecidos e com ampla possibilidade de acesso na rede pública de saúde Abstract: Judicialization is understood as the influence of the Judiciary on political and social institutions, and that demonstrates the demands of citizens and institutions to guarantee the rights affirmed in national and international legislation. This is a descriptive retrospective study of the year 2016 of the purchase processes by judicial demand of the Municipality of Limeira, state of São Paulo, in order to describe the type of request and the profile of the applicant in the local Judiciary. 1412 purchase processes were analyzed, containing 1968 requests with the following variables: type of request, attorney, origin of health care, and the applicant's profile. The most frequent orders were medicines, dermocosmetics and nutritional supplements, followed by materials and supplies, surgeries and exams and last payment of electric bills. The prescriptions that came from health insurance represented 53.93% of the sample, 18.51% from private practices and 26.29% from SUS. The predominant legal representation was through private lawyers, 60.07%, public representatives accounted for 38.01% of the requests, and voluntary representatives 1.17%. When identifying the patron in relation to the origin of the revenue, the predominance of requests by state representatives was observed only in the prescriptions originating in SUS (43.03%), of the patients who were attended in the agreements 57.80% were represented by private lawyers . The classes of drugs that were most purchased are related to the treatment of diseases of the cardiovascular system, such as antihypertensives and diuretics. The judicialization of health is a means of accessing pharmaceutical assistance, especially for patients who do not use public services. Social skills contribute to harmonious interactions and, therefore, are critical to the health and quality of life. Considering its recognized association with sociodemographic variables, it is important to assess this repertoire in different age groups. This study aimed at verifying a possible association between social skills in elderly and variables as age, years of education, income, gender, civil state and depressive symptoms. The participants in the study were 134 elderly aged 60 years or older, recruited from 17 community groups of elderly from Porto Alegre and its metropolitan area. The instruments used were: Mini-mental state examination (MMSE), Sociodemographic Data Sheet, the Brazil Economic Classification Criterion, Geriatric Depression Scale (GDS-15) and the Social Skills Inventory for the Elderly SSIE-Del-Prette). Results indicated a negative association between depressive symptoms and the Social skills Overall Score, being appointed as its stronger predictor. Variables as years of education, socioeconomic status and depressive symptoms had greater influence on the Social skills Overall Score, as well as on the factors of Conversation and Social Resourcefulness and the Affective-Sexual Approach. Gender proved to be the most associated predictor to Affective-Sexual Approach. These results indicated a protective effect of social skills on health aspects of the elderly.

The aortobifemoral bypass (AFB) is one of the best options to revascularize patients with Aortoiliac Occlusive Disease (AIOD). The impact of this procedure in sexual function (SF) is unpredictable, with 0 to 80% of the patients reporting sexual dysfunction (SD) after surgery. The aim of this study was to evaluate SD after AFB and to assess the importance of patent hypogastric arteries before the procedure.The study includes only male population submitted to AFB due to AIOD from between January 2013 and March 2016 in Centro Hospital São João (CHSJ). Patients with major amputations after the surgery or dead were excluded. The development of SD was evaluated by phone call. The quality of life before and after the procedure was evaluated by a standardized index score questionnaire (15D). Pre-operative patency of hypogastric arteries was appraised by assessing the patients imaging file. The arteries with direct anterograde flow were considered patent.Of a total of 53 patients, 40 were included in the study - 37% reported worsening, 26% improved and 37% didn't notice any change in SF after surgery. Exclusion causes were intrahospital death (5.7%), natural cause death (9.4%) and major amputation (11.3%). If at least one of the hypogastric arteries was patent before surgery, 51.1% described worsening in SF compared to only 7.1% in the group with no sustained anterograde flow to the hypogastric arteries (p0.001). The majority of the group (92.1%), wasn't warned of the possibility of SD after surgery, being that 26.3% of these would have refused the procedure if they knew.SD is a prevalent and often overlooked complication after open aortoiliac revascularization and it remains a major taboo in the surgeon/patient relation. The existence of at least one hypogastric artery with preserved anterograde flow before surgery can strongly predict a higher risk of SD after surgery.Introdução: O bypass aortobifemoral (BABF) é uma das melhores opções para revascularizar doentes com patologia aorto-ilíaca oclusiva. O impacto deste procedimento na função sexual é particularmente imprevisível, com 0 a 80% dos doentes a relatar deterioração após a cirurgia. Este trabalho tem como objectivo determinar a evolução da função sexual após BABF e avaliar a importância da permeabilidade pré-operatória das artérias hipogástricas. Métodos: No estudo estão incluídos apenas os doentes do sexo masculino que realizaram BABF por patologia aorto-ilíaca oclusiva entre Janeiro de 2013 e Março de 2016 no Centro Hospitalar São João (CHSJ). Foram excluídos os doentes submetidos a amputação major após a cirurgia. A evolução da função sexual foi avaliada por contacto telefónico. A evolução da qualidade de vida, antes e após a cirurgia, foi avaliada por um questionário padronizado (15D). A permeabilidade pré-operatória das artérias hipogástricas foi avaliada por consulta do processo clínico. Foram consideradas patentes as artérias com fluxo anterógrado directo. Resultados: Foram incluídos no estudo 40 doentes de um total de 53 – 37% reportaram agravamento, 26% melhoria e 37% não referiram qualquer alteração da função sexual após a cirurgia. As causas de exclusão foram morte intra-hospitalar (5,7%), morte de causas naturais (9,4%) e amputação major (11,3%). Dos doentes que apresentavam no mínimo uma artéria hipogástrica permeável antes da cirurgia, 57,1% agravou a função sexual, em comparação com apenas 7,1% dos doentes em que nenhuma hipogástrica apresentava fluxo anterógrado preservado (p0,001). A maior parte dos doentes (92,1%) não foi alertado para o facto da sua função sexual poder deteriorar-se após a cirurgia, sendo que 26,3% teria recusado o procedimento caso tivessem obtido essa informação. Conclusão: A disfunção sexual após a cirurgia de revascularização aorto-ilíaca permanece um tema tabu na relação entre o doente e o cirurgião vascular. A existência de pelo menos uma artéria hipogástrica com fluxo anterógrado preservado antes da cirurgia poderá antever um risco significativamente maior de agravamento da disfunção sexual após o procedimento.

Esta medida tem sido cautelosa, uma vez que a autorização da entrada do brinquedo no ambiente hospitalar necessita de investigação em relação aos riscos de transmissão de microrganismos, natureza do material do qual é confeccionado o brinquedo e, conseqüentemente, se é passível de limpeza e desinfecção. Apesar de sua grande importância, o brinquedo/brinquedo terapêutico, pode ser um veículo de transmissão de microrganismos na unidade de recreação. O objetivo deste trabalho foi avaliar os procedimentos de higienização dos brinquedos infantis e das brinquedotecas nacionais. Trata-se de um estudo quantitativo, realizado com os enfermeiros sócios da Sociedade Brasileira de Enfermeiros Pediatras e Neonatais que atuam em área pediátrica em ambiente hospitalar. A amostra ficou constituída de 30 enfermeiros, dos quais 17 estavam vinculados á área hospitalar, um à área ambulatorial e 12 à atenção básica de saúde. Sendo 13 hospitais possuírem brinquedotecas. Quanto o predomínio de a composição dos brinquedos, houve predomínio nos de plástico. Sobre o produto de higienização apenas um dos enfermeiros responderem esse item que fazem a higienização com água e sabão seguido de álcool 70%.Conclui-se a necessidades de novas investigações com numero maior de participantes para ter uma padronização dos métodos de higiene de acordo com a composição de o brinquedo no ambiente hospitalar. The humanization policies attempt to enable health professionals to ease the hostility of the hospital with the child living objects, such as their favorite toy. This measure has been cautious since the release of Toy entering the hospital needs investigation in relation to the risks of transmission of microorganisms, the nature of the material it is made the toy and, consequently, it is capable of cleaning and disinfecting . Despite its great importance, the toy / therapeutic play, can be a vehicle of transmission of microorganisms in unit recreation. The aim of this study was to evaluate the cleaning procedures of the national children's toys and playrooms. This is a quantitative study among nurses members of the Brazilian Society of Pediatrics and Neonatal Nurses who work in pediatrics in the hospital. The sample consisted of 30 nurses, 17 of which were tied to area hospitals, one ambulatory area and 12 to basic health care. Being 13 hospitals possess playrooms. As the dominance of the composition of toys predominated in plastic. About the product hygiene only one of this item that nurses respond do the cleaning with soap and water followed by 70% alcohol to. Conclueds needs further investigations with larger number of participants to have a standard of hygienic methods in accordance with the composition of the toy in the hospital environment.
