Furnariida (i.e. ovenbirds, woodcreepers and antbirds) cover diverse ecologies and locomotor habits, ranging from strictly terrestrial to climbing birds, with different degrees of acrobatic performances. We know that this variety of locomotor modes is linked to different limb morpho-functional adaptations in other climbing clades of birds, such as woodpeckers and nuthatches. Here, we link the morphological variations to ecological categories, such as different locomotor habits and a gradient of acrobatic performances, in a phylogenetically informed analysis. We used a high-density three-dimensional (3D) geometric morphometric approach on foot bones (tarsometatarsus and all toes) of 55 specimens from 39 species of Furnariida. We found a significant correlation between acrobatic performances and foot bone shapes, partly explained by the phylogenetic relationship between species. Dendrocolaptidae show specific anatomical features, linked to their acrobatic locomotor habits. More specifically, we found that: (1) foot bones are more robust amongst climbing Furnariida, (2) the spread between toes is wider amongst highly acrobatic Furnariida, (3) dermal syndactyly between digits II and III is linked to special osteological features interpreted as functional osteological syndactyly in woodcreepers (tail-assisted climbers) and (4) the hallux claw is straighter than other claws in climbing Furnariida. Our study demonstrates that climbing Furnariida evolved common foot adaptations with subtle phenotypic variations depending on their climbing performances, refining our understanding of how evolution shapes interactions amongst structure, function and ecological traits.

Assessing the Nature-Based Solutions (NBS) contribution to urban resilience, along with developing tools capable of demonstrating their long-term value, comprises a most needed step forward. Nevertheless, the NBS contribution to urban resilience has been yet slightly explored. Given the urban resilience complexity and multiple NBS capabilities, specific needs for a robust assessment should be investigated. This paper identifies the requirements for a comprehensive assessment of the NBS contribution to urban resilience and analyses the main assessment frameworks focused on resilience and NBS for urban drainage. First, the evolution of the resilience concept and relevant resilience assessment frameworks (RAF) are presented. Secondly, NBS challenges to enhance resilience and NBS assessment proposals are analysed. Thirdly, the attributes for assessing urban resilience and aspects to assess the NBS contribution are analysed. To conclude, a critical analysis of the assessment approaches is presented. Important challenges across the RAF have been identified, especially regarding their feasibility of application. Based on the performed analysis, most RAFs are not feasible for city benchmarking and assessing the resilience evolution over time, neither for assessing comprehensively the NBS contribution. Regarding specifically the NBS assessment proposals, just one focused on urban resilience was developed to date, which allows evaluating their contribution over time, between cities, or between different NBS.

In the forthcoming years Portugal expects to be an increasingly hot and dry country dealing with the risk of water scarcity. According to the Portuguese Institute for Sea and Atmosphere data, annual precipitation values have decreased 20 mm/decade. On the other hand, it is also verified that the periods of rain occur in a shorter interval, although more intensively. Water scarcity is one of the major challenges reflected in the UN 6th Sustainable Development Goal. Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), as places of responsibility in preparing future leaders, must have strong sustainability policies, namely through the implementation of water efficiency measures on their campi. The main aim of this work was to evaluate water consumption and the good practices that the different HEIs have implemented on their campi to improve and promote green and sustainable behaviors, and to calculate water efficiency indicators associated with each HEI. The data were collected through a survey completed by eight HEIs distributed throughout the country. The results show that some institutions have already been implementing measures for water efficiency and have developed some activities with the academic and surrounding community. The range of values calculated for the indicators is large and there is not a strong correlation between them. Per capita consumption values vary between 1.8 and 23.5 L/(person·day), the differences being explained mostly by campus characteristics, namely: green areas; water sources for irrigation; age of buildings; and the existence of facilities on campus such as residences and sports facilities. Nevertheless, the consumption per capita values are generally lower than those found in the literature for equivalent institutions. Background The development of vaccines to prevent COVID-19 breakouts came with highly positive results but some unexpected side effects. Rare side effects have been seen with the BNT162b2 SARS-CoV 2 vaccine. Case Presentation We present the case of a 45-year-old female patient who developed an acute kidney injury needing urgent hemodialysis one week after the second administration of the BNT162b2 SARS-CoV 2 vaccine. She developed a macular rash on her lower limbs and palms as well. A kidney biopsy was performed 10 days after vaccine inoculation, diagnosing acute interstitial nephritis and acute tubular necrosis with cellular casts. The patient was treated with three corticosteroid pulses followed by daily prednisolone. We witnessed clinical improvement 4 days after the initial corticosteroid treatment with progressive recovery of kidney function and hemodialysis withdrawal. After 2 weeks, the patient had recovered her kidney function. Immunophenotyping was performed, diagnosing a hypersensitivity to the vaccine and the polyethylene glycol excipient. Conclusion Patients may develop acute reactions to vaccines. In this case, symptoms seem to correlate significantly with its inoculation and, although this case had a favourable outcome, these side effects must be made aware for clinicians and patients.

In this study, we describe a sustainable system for treatment and reuse of grey wastewater in urban areas through vertical green walls constructed on unused surfaces of buildings. The system integrates the benefits linked to the introduction of green spaces in urban areas with the advantages connected with the reuse of purified greywater (non-potable reuse) and the reduction of potable water use, allowing a sustainable use of water resources. We constructed a vertical green wall composed of modular panels with 12 vegetated pots per panel. The green wall was irrigated with synthetic greywater, and the removal efficiency was monitored weekly with regards to different parameters (e.g., BOD5, COD, nitrogen, phosphorus). The results showed good results in terms of treatment performances, indicating the suitability of the green wall for treatment of greywater.

OBJECTIVES Tacrolimus has a narrow therapeutic window, and lack of adherence to the therapeutic regimen is a main risk factor for acute graft rejection; hence, the prolonged-release formulation was created. A high intrapatient variability for tacrolimus trough levels has been associated with worse graft outcomes; therefore, we investigated the correlation between the tacrolimus variation coefficient and the development of biopsy-proven acute graft rejection in kidney transplant patients with typical maintenance immunosuppression versus the prolonged-release formulation. MATERIALS AND METHODS This was a single-center observational retrospective study that included all adult kidney transplants from deceased donors between January 2011 and December 2014 for which the transplant recipients were given maintenance therapy with tacrolimus prolonged-release formulation (Advagraf). The overall tacrolimus variation coefficient was calculated for the follow-up period from transplant until December 2019. Biopsy-proven acute graft rejection results were collected throughout follow-up. Statistical analysis was performed with SPSS software. RESULTS The study was composed of 147 patients with a mean follow-up time of 60.4 ± 15 months. The mean age of the patients was 47.5 ± 11.9 years and 67.3% were men. Of these 147 patients, 29 had at least 1 episode of acute graft rejection during follow-up. There was a significant correlation between patients with a higher tacrolimus variation coefficient and the presence of biopsy-proven acute graft rejection. Receiver operating characteristic curves were used to determine an intrapatient variability cutoff point of 28.3% for tacrolimus. Younger patients were also more likely than older patients to develop acute graft rejection in our sample. CONCLUSIONS High intrapatient variability of tacrolimus trough levels is a risk factor for acute graft rejection in kidney transplant patients.

Climate change is altering the habits of the population. Extensive drought periods and overuse of potable water led to significant water shortages in many different places. Therefore, new water sources are necessary for usage in applications where the microbiological and chemical water quality demands are less stringent, as for agriculture. In this study, we planted, germinated, and grew vegetables/fruits (cherry tomato, lettuce, and carrot) using three types of potential waters for irrigation: secondary-treated wastewater, chlorine-treated wastewater, and green wall-treated greywater, to observe potential health risks of foodstuff consumption. In this study the waters and crops were analyzed for three taxonomic groups: bacteria, enteric viruses, and protozoa. Enteric viruses, human Norovirus I (hNoVGI) and Enterovirus (EntV), were detected in tomato and carrots irrigated with secondary-treated and chlorine-treated wastewater, in concentrations as high as 2.63 log genome units (GU)/g. On the other hand, Aichi viruses were detected in lettuce. Bacteria and protozoa remained undetected in all fresh produce although being detected in both types of wastewaters. Fresh produce irrigated with green wall-treated greywater were free from the chosen pathogens. This suggests that green wall-treated greywater may be a valuable option for crop irrigation, directly impacting the cities of the future vision, and the circular and green economy concepts. On the other hand, this work demonstrates that further advancement is still necessary to improve reclaimed water to the point where it no longer constitutes risk of foodborne diseases and to human health.

BACKGROUND AND AIMS Anemia is a highly prevalent and modifiable comorbidity in patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD), which tends to aggravate as the disease progresses. The economic burden of anemia in CKD is high, and quality of life issues (e.g. fatigue, reduced productivity) is common in these patients. Data on the prevalence and treatment of anemia in CKD stages 3 and 4 (based on the estimated glomerular filtration rate according to KDIGO classification) in Portugal are lacking. The NEFROPOR study aimed to estimate the prevalence of anemia in patients with CKD stage 3 or 4 admitted to a Nephrology consultation between 1 January and 31 March 2017 and characterize anemia treatment in this patient population. METHODS NEFROPOR was a retrospective, multicentric study carried out in 10 Portuguese centers. All patients aged ≥18 years with stage 3 or 4 CKD admitted to a Nephrology consultation in one of those centers between 1 January and 31 March 2017 were invited to participate, and data for up to 24 months after admission were collected from patients’ clinical files. Retrieved data included age, body mass index (BMI), anemia status according to the World Health Organization (WHO) diagnostic criteria, and anemia treatment type and duration. Three assessments of the prevalence anemia were performed: at the time of the first Nephrology visit (presentation), at the first analytical results and the overall prevalence in the study cohort. Statistical analysis was performed in SPSS Statistics (v26) and a 0.05 significance level was adopted. RESULTS A total of 176 patients were included in this study, mostly (61.9%) male, with a median age of 76 years (range, 26–97) and a mean BMI indicative of pre-obesity (28.2; standard deviation, 4.2). CKD stage 3b was predominant (43.2%), followed by stage 4 (32.4%) and stage 3a (24.4%). The most frequent CKD etiologies in this cohort were diabetes (39.8%), followed by arterial hypertension (27.8%) and unknown cause (25.6%). Arterial hypertension was largely the most frequent comorbidity, present in 90.3% of patients, followed by diabetes (54.0%). Although less prevalent, coronary artery disease (18.2%) and congestive heart failure (14.8%) were also identified in this patient population. A total of 44.9% of patients [95% confidence interval (CI), 37.7%–52.3%] had anemia at presentation, which was significantly associated with CKD stage, diabetes, peripheral vascular disease and myocardial infarction comorbidities, and diabetes and unknown CKD etiology. The overall prevalence of anemia in the study cohort was 61.9% (95% CI 54.6%–68.9%), and it was significantly associated with diabetes and peripheral vascular disease comorbidities and with diabetes and primary glomerulonephritis as CKD etiologies. The prevalence of anemia at the first analytical results was 49.4% (95% CI 42.1%–56.8%), and it was significantly associated with CKD stage, diabetes, non-skin cancer, peripheral vascular disease and myocardial infarction comorbidities, and diabetes as CKD etiology. Figure 1 shows the evolution of anemia treatment in this cohort over 24 + months. CONCLUSION The three estimates of the prevalence of anemia in this study were consistent with each other, particularly those for the first visit and first analytical results. The latter were also consistent with evidence in the literature reporting a prevalence of anemia in the population of patients with CKD stages 3 and 4 between 40% and 60%. The overall prevalence of anemia in this study was 12%–15% higher than first visit and first analytical results estimates, in agreement with the fact that this refers to a cumulative prevalence. These data support the need for optimized and individualized treatment strategies for patients with CKD stages 3 and 4, maximizing the efficiency of health-care resource use.

The continuous growth of urban areas in the last decades has resulted in an increase in water consumption, contributing to larger volumes of urban and domestic wastewater. Thus, stakeholders have been seeking for efficient alternatives for wastewater management, namely looking for new forms of treatment and reuse. The present work provides new insights on the application of a green wall for greywater treatment, aiming at water reuse and also at contributing to Circular Economy. Two types of recycled materials, crushed tiles and textile fibers, were tested as filling media combined with two plant species. Crushed tiles were mixed with coconut fibers in a 70 %-30 % ratio and textile fibers were used as single media. The tiles+coconut mix with plants performed the best, exhibiting on average removal efficiencies70 % for Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD) and between 59 %-70 % for Total Suspended Solids (TSS). Fibers systems had on average removal efficiencies around 60 % for COD and 50 % for TSS and clogged at the end of the study. Overall the study demonstrated that green walls for greywater treatment can contribute to circular economy through the use of recycled material as filling media.

Review Sludge Treatment Reed Beds (STRBs) have been used worldwide over the past few decades. This review aims to overarchingly identify and appraise the currently available knowledge of STRB technology and discern climatic patterns through Meta-Analysis (MA). We systematically searched Google Scholar, Scopus, and Web of Science databases (up to Dec 2021) via a combination of keywords to identify English-language studies published in peer-reviewed journals. Of 142 potential articles, 73 studies met the present review objectives and inclusion criteria. Four STRB classifications including typical STRB, earthworm STRB, Sludge Treatment Electro Wetland (STEW), and earthworm STEW were found since 1990. The data and information on STRBs' configuration, operational parameters in terms of location, type of sewage sludge, study scale, Sludge Loading Rate (SLR), Dry Solid (DS), the proportion of Volatile Solid to DS (VS/DS), and their association with the feeding and resting modes were extracted fromthe selected articles. The analysis was focused on the interconnections between operational parameters and system efficiency for Temperate type 1 (low intensity of solar radiation), Temperate type 2 (high intensity of solar radiation), and Tropical climates. Based on MA, we found the average SLRs of 50, 70, and 101 Kg.DM.m−2.year−1 for Temperate type 1, Temperate type 2, and Tropical climates respectively, and DS during the feeding of 33 %, 35 %, and 40 %. A qualitative comparison of Arid and Polar climates was also performed given the reduced number of studies available in these climates. The volume of the sludge reduced was 60 % higher and the height of accumulated sludge was annually 2 cm in the earthworm STRBs, and STEWs compared to typical STRBs, which was 6 cm annually in Tropical climates. Water in the city is typically exploited in a linear process, in which most of it is polluted, treated, and discharged, during this process, valuable nutrients are lost in the treatment process instead of being cycled back and used in urban agriculture or green space. The purpose of this paper is to advance a new paradigm to close water cycles in cities via the implementation of nature-based solutions units (NBS_u), with a particular focus on building greening elements, such as green roofs (GRs) and vertical greening systems (VGS). The hypothesis is that such “circular systems” can provide substantial ecosystem services and minimize environmental degradation. Our method is twofold: we first examine these systems from a life-cycle point of view, assessing not only the inputs of conventional and alternative materials, but the ongoing input of water that is required for irrigation. Secondly, the evapotranspiration performance of VGS in Copenhagen, Berlin, Lisbon, Rome, Istanbul, and Tel Aviv, cities with different climatic, architectural, and sociocultural contexts have been simulated using a verticalized ET0 approach, assessing rainwater runoff and greywater as irrigation resources. The water cycling performance of VGS in the mentioned cities would be sufficient at recycling 44% (Lisbon) to 100% (Berlin, Istanbul) of all accruing rainwater roof–runoff, if water shortages in dry months are bridged by greywater. Then, 27–53% of the greywater accruing in a building could be managed on its greened surface. In conclusion, we address the gaps in the current knowledge and policies identified in the different stages of analyses, such as the lack of comprehensive life cycle assessment studies that quantify the complete “water footprint” of building greening systems.

The marsupial frog Fritziana goeldii is an endemic species of Brazil with few aspects of its habits reported in the literature. In this work, we report for the first time the ingestion of Elpidium sp., an ostracod that lives in bromeliads which is known to use amphibians as vectors for phoresy, by F. goeldii. Research question Does the levonorgestrel-releasing intrauterine device (LNG-IUD) influence cumulative live birth rate (CLBR) in oocyte donor cycles? Design Retrospective cohort study based on prospectively collected data from 1 May 2009 to 31 December 2017, without attrition, consisting of 491 consecutive cycles of vitrified oocyte donation, none lost to follow-up (unique donor–recipient pairs). All donors underwent ovarian stimulation using gonadotrophin releasing hormone (GnRH) antagonist co-treatment and GnRH agonist trigger. CLBR was chosen as primary outcome measure. Results In total, 103 (21.0%) cycles were carried out in donors carrying a LNG-IUD. In 388 (79.0%) cycles, no LNG-IUD was present. After confounder-adjustment, the use of an LNG-IUD did not have a statistically significant influence on CLBR. Conclusions The LNG-IUD does not negatively affect CLBR.

This study investigated the occurrence of storage mechanisms in biofilm from constructed wetlands (CWs) through respirometric studies and calculated the corresponding heterotrophic growth yields. Respirometric tests were performed in biofilm extracted from horizontal sub-surface flow CWs batch loaded with three different COD mass loads: 7.0., 15.6 and 35.2 g COD/(m2∙day). The bed removal efficiency remained above 96% for all mass loads and COD mass removal rates increased from 6.8 g COD/(m2∙day) for the lowest load to 34.5 g COD/(m2∙day) for the highest load. The percentage of tests with storage evidence decreased from 85% to 10% with increasing mass loads and the responses of the microbial community to the acetate pulse showed an adaptation to the feast-famine conditions, through storage mechanisms, for lower loads, and a metabolic shift to the use of COD for growth for higher loads. Heterotrophic biomass yield values varied from 0.54–0.56 g COD/g COD for low mass loads to 0.69–0.71 for higher mass loads, indicating that greater substrate availably triggers growth and reduces the occurrence of storage. Storage yield values supported this trend varying between 0.89 and 0.94 with increasing mass loads. Given the significant storage evidence obtained in the present study, it is suggested that a modified modelling architecture, which includes storage mechanisms, should be considered in future simulations of CW systems.

Over the past two decades, performance assessment based on performance indicators (PI) has been one of the areas showing the greatest advancement in the water sector. This practice may be defined as any approach that aims to measure effectiveness and/or efficiency of an activity or process using PI, supporting the decision-making process and encouraging the continuous improvement of a water utility. Despite the potential benefits, few projects and initiatives of performance assessment based on PI have been undertaken regarding storm water systems. The present article aims to review studies that have been carried out in the area to provide a state of the art on the subject, understand the applicability of the existing methodologies and their limitations, and to point out future directions. The review revealed that most of the research works were of limited scope, focusing on single storm water systems or some specific aspects of their performance, and also gave an inappropriate definition and selection of PI, compromising their further application. The identified gaps emphasise the need for a new methodology to provide a reference framework in the field. Such methodology should be objective, standardised and well-adapted to different contexts, driven by objectives and criteria and based on PI and targets.

Objectives Maternal and fetal complications can occur in pregnant kidney transplant recipients. Since these are high-risk pregnancies, they require a multidisciplinary follow-up to prematurely detect adverse events. Identifying factors that would affect fetal, maternal and graft outcomes is essential to further stratify the risk of pregnant kidney transplant recipients. Methods All pregnancies in kidney transplant recipients followed in a single center for 30 years were included. Data included previous transplant information and blood and urine tests performed before pregnancy. Impact of graft function on fetal, maternal and graft outcomes was evaluated. Results There were 41 pregnancies among 34 patients. Mean gestational age of 35 ± 3 weeks. Caesarean section was performed in 69.4% of patients. Five pregnancies were unsuccessful (12.2%). Four patients suffered an acute graft dysfunction (9.8%) and 12 (29.3%) had a serious maternal hypertensive disorder (preeclampsia, eclampsia or HELLP syndrome). Graft function before pregnancy showed significant correlation with adverse outcomes. Conclusions A proteinuria >669 mg/g, serum creatinine >1.75 mg/dL and glomerular filtration rate 2 before pregnancy were correlated to graft dysfunction during pregnancy. Similar values of proteinuria were also associated with a risk of maternal hypertensive disorders and pregnancy failure. Therefore, in patients with proteinuria and graft dysfunction, follow-up should be stricter to quickly detect complications.

According to the European Research and Innovation Policy Agenda, nature-based solutions (NBSs) are key technologies to improve the sustainability of urban areas. Among NBSs, green walls have been recently studied for several applications, among the others the treatment of lowly polluted wastewater flows as greywater (GW, e.g. domestic wastewater excluding toilet flushes). This work is aimed at the evaluation of the influence of four additives (compost, biochar, granular activated carbon, polyacrylate) mixed with a base filter medium made of coconut fibre and perlite, on the performances of a green wall fed in batch mode with synthetic GW. The green wall was operated with a high hydraulic loading rate of GW (740.8 L/m2/day) in open-air winter conditions (3.5–15 °C measured for GW) between January and April. The performances of the green wall have been assessed though the monitoring every 1–2 weeks of physicochemical and biological parameters (pH, electric conductivity, total suspended solids, dissolved oxygen, BOD5 and COD, nitrogen and phosporus compounds, chlorides and sulphates, anionic surfactants and E. coli). Removal performances were excellent for BOD5 (>95%) and E.coli (>98%) for all additives; compared to the base medium, biochar was the best performing additive over the highest number of parameters, achieving removals equal to 51% for COD, 47% for TKN and nitric nitrogen and 71% for anionic surfactants. Compost also achieved high removal performances, but the frequent clogging events occurred during the monitoring period do not make its use recommendable. Granular activated carbon and the combination of biochar and polyacrylate performed better than the base medium, but only about the removal of nitric nitrogen. These results demonstrated that, in the considered experimental boundaries, biochar could improve the overall treatment performances of a green wall fed by GW and operated in challenging conditions.

Thermalism has been used to improve health status, with emphasis on well-being, including relaxation, stress relief, depression, and even recovery and energy reserve. This study aimed to evaluate the perception of quality of life (QOL) by SF 36v2, and the quality of sleep, using the Pittsburgh Index, in individuals who attended the therapeutic thermalism at Chaves thermal Spa, in different treatment time points, pre-and post-treatment for 14 days. Methodology: Thermal Spa patients attending therapeutic thermalism at Chaves thermal Spa (N=90) completed a questionnaire with information on sociodemographic data, on health-related quality of life (SF-36v2), and on quality of sleep (Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI)). Results: In the thermal pre-treatment evaluation, participants revealed a good quality of life in the physical and social functioning, vitality, emotional role functioning, and mental health domains. In the post-treatment assessment, there all QOL indexes were improved, physical functioning, physical role functioning, bodily pain, and emotional role functioning. The participants revealed a good sleep quality in the following dimensions: sleep duration and efficiency, use of sleeping medications, and daytime dysfunction. In the second evaluation time-point, there was an improvement of all sleep quality indices, except for the sleep duration component. Regarding the quality of life and sleep by sociodemographic variables, data revealed that men had a better quality of life and sleep than women. Conclusion: Thermal treatments provided significant benefits for the quality of life and sleep. These results may contribute to improve the knowledge on the potentialities of thermal treatments and, ultimately to attract tourists seeking the benefits of thermal waters on its holistic vision. info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersion

Nature-Based Solutions (NBS) provide a systemic approach to promote the maintenance, enhancement, and restoration of biodiversity and ecosystem services (ES) in urban areas, helping to enhance urban resilience in the water sector. Within the sustainable development goals proposed by UNHABITAT, resilience in cities was established as a critical issue. The assessment of the NBS contribution to urban resilience and the development of tools to determine the long-term value of these solutions comprise a most needed step forward. A comprehensive Resilience Assessment Framework to assess the NBS contribution to urban resilience (RAF), focused on NBS for stormwater management and control, was proposed and developed ( Beceiro et al., 2020 ). This assessment framework aims to support the diagnosis, decision-making, implementation, planning, and management of the NBS and to identify the solutions with greater potential to contribute to city resilience drawbacks. This paper aims to demonstrate the purpose and relevance of the RAF, by presenting its application to a case study, highlighting both data demands (given different complexity requirements for metric's determination) and specific considerations regarding the level of assessment (either to the overall city area or to specific NBS). The application to the case study allows assessing the contribution to urban resilience of the main NBS in the urban area of Porto and, specifically, the contribution of an infiltration basin, which will be implemented in the Asprela catchment. Main resilience shortcomings in the city that may be upgraded by NBS are also identified, as recommendations for future urban planning in Porto. This application also intends to deliver a thorough example for other cities aiming to assess NBS contribution to urban resilience using the proposed RAF. At the city level, the main opportunities to improve the NBS contribution identified corresponded to the Governance and stakeholders' involvement, Environmental resilience and Resilience engaged service. On the other hand, the Social involvement and co-benefits and the Service management (obj.6) are identified as consolidated aspects across the urban area. At the NBS level, it was possible to conclude that the infiltration basin, considering the design characteristics, will enhance significantly the contribution to urban resilience in the Asprela catchment, based on the results for the model based metrics and the defined scenarios. Furthermore, it was possible to conclude that the NBS will operate in overall good hydraulic condition, even for the most severe rainfall conditions.
