General expressions for one-loop contributions associated with the lepton-flavor violating decays of the standard model-like Higgs boson $h\to e_b^\pm e_a^\mp$ and gauge boson $Z\to e^\pm_b e_a^\mp$ are introduced in the unitary gauge. The results are used to discuss these decays as new physics signals in a minimal left-right symmetric model containing only one bidoublet Higgs and a $SU(2)_R$ Higgs doublet accommodating data of neutrino oscillations and $(g-2)_{\mu}$. We introduce EXAONE 3.0 instruction-tuned language model, the first open model in the family of Large Language Models (LLMs) developed by LG AI Research. Among different model sizes, we publicly release the 7.8B instruction-tuned model to promote open research and innovations. Through extensive evaluations across a wide range of public and in-house benchmarks, EXAONE 3.0 demonstrates highly competitive real-world performance with instruction-following capability against other state-of-the-art open models of similar size. Our comparative analysis shows that EXAONE 3.0 excels particularly in Korean, while achieving compelling performance across general tasks and complex reasoning. With its strong real-world effectiveness and bilingual proficiency, we hope that EXAONE keeps contributing to advancements in Expert AI. Differentially private federated learning (DP-FL) is a promising technique for collaborative model training while ensuring provable privacy for clients. However, optimizing the tradeoff between privacy and accuracy remains a critical challenge. To our best knowledge, we propose the first DP-FL framework (namely UDP-FL), which universally harmonizes any randomization mechanism (e.g., an optimal one) with the Gaussian Moments Accountant (viz. DP-SGD) to significantly boost accuracy and convergence. Specifically, UDP-FL demonstrates enhanced model performance by mitigating the reliance on Gaussian noise. The key mediator variable in this transformation is the R\'enyi Differential Privacy notion, which is carefully used to harmonize privacy budgets. We also propose an innovative method to theoretically analyze the convergence for DP-FL (including our UDP-FL ) based on mode connectivity analysis. Moreover, we evaluate our UDP-FL through extensive experiments benchmarked against state-of-the-art (SOTA) methods, demonstrating superior performance on both privacy guarantees and model performance. Notably, UDP-FL exhibits substantial resilience against different inference attacks, indicating a significant advance in safeguarding sensitive data in federated learning environments.

As Deep Neural Networks (DNNs) rapidly advance in various fields, including speech verification, they typically involve high computational costs and substantial memory consumption, which can be challenging to manage on mobile systems. Quantization of deep models offers a means to reduce both computational and memory expenses. Our research proposes an optimization framework for the quantization of the speaker verification model. By analyzing performance changes and model size reductions in each layer of a pre-trained speaker verification model, we have effectively minimized performance degradation while significantly reducing the model size. Our quantization algorithm is the first attempt to maintain the performance of the state-of-the-art pre-trained speaker verification model, ECAPATDNN, while significantly compressing its model size. Detection of building facade attachments such as doors, windows, balconies, air conditioner units, billboards, and glass curtain walls plays a pivotal role in numerous applications. Building facade attachments detection aids in vbuilding information modeling (BIM) construction and meeting Level of Detail 3 (LOD3) standards. Yet, it faces challenges like uneven object distribution, small object detection difficulty, and background interference. To counter these, we propose BFA-YOLO, a model for detecting facade attachments in multi-view images. BFA-YOLO incorporates three novel innovations: the Feature Balanced Spindle Module (FBSM) for addressing uneven distribution, the Target Dynamic Alignment Task Detection Head (TDATH) aimed at improving small object detection, and the Position Memory Enhanced Self-Attention Mechanism (PMESA) to combat background interference, with each component specifically designed to solve its corresponding challenge. Detection efficacy of deep network models deeply depends on the dataset's characteristics. Existing open source datasets related to building facades are limited by their single perspective, small image pool, and incomplete category coverage. We propose a novel method for building facade attachments detection dataset construction and construct the BFA-3D dataset for facade attachments detection. The BFA-3D dataset features multi-view, accurate labels, diverse categories, and detailed classification. BFA-YOLO surpasses YOLOv8 by 1.8% and 2.9% in mAP@0.5 on the multi-view BFA-3D and street-view Facade-WHU datasets, respectively. We introduce the holographic air-quality monitor (HAM) system, uniquely tailored for monitoring large particulate matter (PM) over 10 um in diameter, i.e., particles critical for disease transmission and public health but overlooked by most commercial PM sensors. The HAM system utilizes a lensless digital inline holography (DIH) sensor combined with a deep learning model, enabling real-time detection of PMs, with greater than 97% true positive rate at less than 0.6% false positive rate, and analysis of PMs by size and morphology at a sampling rate of 26 liters per minute (LPM), for a wide range of particle concentrations up to 4000 particles/L. Such throughput not only significantly outperforms traditional imaging-based sensors but also rivals some lower-fidelity, non-imaging sensors. Additionally, the HAM system is equipped with additional sensors for smaller PMs and various air quality conditions, ensuring a comprehensive assessment of indoor air quality. The performance of the DIH sensor within the HAM system was evaluated through comparison with brightfield microscopy, showing high concordance in size measurements. The efficacy of the DIH sensor was also demonstrated in two two-hour experiments under different environments simulating practical conditions with one involving distinct PM-generating events. These tests highlighted the HAM system's advanced capability to differentiate PM events from background noise and its exceptional sensitivity to irregular, large-sized PMs of low concentration., Comment: 14 pages, 7 figures

A multi-level tunable reflection array wide-angle beam scanning method is proposed to address the limited bandwidth and small scanning angle issues of current terahertz beam scanning technology. In this method, a focusing lens and its array are used to achieve terahertz wave spatial beam control, and MEMS mirrors and their arrays are used to achieve wide-angle beam scanning. The 1~3 order terahertz MEMS beam scanning system designed based on this method can extend the mechanical scanning angle of MEMS mirrors by 2~6 times, when tested and verified using an electromagnetic MEMS mirror with a 7mm optical aperture and a scanning angle of 15{\deg} and a D-band terahertz signal source. The experiment shows that the operating bandwidth of the first-order terahertz MEMS beam scanning system is better than 40GHz, the continuous beam scanning angle is about 30{\deg}, the continuous beam scanning cycle response time is about 1.1ms, and the antenna gain is better than 15dBi at 160GHz. This method has been validated for its large bandwidth and scalable scanning angle, and has potential application prospects in terahertz dynamic communication, detection radar, scanning imaging, and other fields.

We present a study of the semileptonic decay $D^0\rightarrow \pi^-\pi^0e^{+}\nu_{e}$ using an $e^+e^-$ annihilation data sample of $7.93~\mathrm{fb}^{-1}$ collected at the center-of-mass energy of 3.773 GeV with the BESIII detector. The branching fraction of $D^0\to \rho(770)^-e^+\nu_e$ is measured to be $(1.439 \pm 0.033(\rm stat.) \pm 0.027(\rm syst.)) \times10^{-3}$, which is a factor 1.6 more precise than previous measurements. By performing an amplitude analysis, we measure the hadronic form-factor ratios of $D^0\to \rho(770)^-e^+\nu_e$ at $q^2=0$ assuming the single-pole-dominance parametrization: $r_{V}=V(0)/A_1(0)=1.548\pm0.079(\rm stat.)\pm0.041(\rm syst.)$ and $r_{2}=A_2(0)/A_1(0)=0.823\pm0.056(\rm stat.)\pm0.026(\rm syst.)$., Comment: 12 pages, 3 figures

Remote sensing image classification is a critical component of Earth observation (EO) systems, traditionally dominated by convolutional neural networks (CNNs) and other deep learning techniques. However, the advent of Transformer-based architectures and large-scale pre-trained models has significantly shifted, offering enhanced performance and efficiency. This study focuses on identifying the most effective pre-trained model for land use classification in onboard satellite processing, emphasizing achieving high accuracy, computational efficiency, and robustness against noisy data conditions commonly encountered during satellite-based inference. Through extensive experimentation, we compared traditional CNN-based models, ResNet-based models, and various pre-trained vision Transformer models. Our findings demonstrate that pre-trained Transformer models, particularly MobileViTV2 and EfficientViT-M2, outperform models trained from scratch in accuracy and efficiency. These models achieve high performance with reduced computational requirements and exhibit greater resilience during inference under noisy conditions. While MobileViTV2 excelled on clean validation data, EfficientViT-M2 proved more robust when handling noise, making it the most suitable model for onboard satellite Earth observation tasks. In conclusion, EfficientViT-M2 is the optimal choice for reliable and efficient remote sensing image classification in satellite operations, achieving 98.76\% accuracy, precision, and recall. Specifically, EfficientViT-M2 delivered the highest performance across all metrics, excelled in training efficiency (1,000s) and inference time (10s), and demonstrated greater robustness (overall robustness score at 0.79).

This paper introduces MetaBGM, a groundbreaking framework for generating background music that adapts to dynamic scenes and real-time user interactions. We define multi-scene as variations in environmental contexts, such as transitions in game settings or movie scenes. To tackle the challenge of converting backend data into music description texts for audio generation models, MetaBGM employs a novel two-stage generation approach that transforms continuous scene and user state data into these texts, which are then fed into an audio generation model for real-time soundtrack creation. Experimental results demonstrate that MetaBGM effectively generates contextually relevant and dynamic background music for interactive applications.

The $J/\psi$ and $\psi(2S)$ charmonium states, composed of $c\bar{c}$ quark pairs and known since the 1970s, are widely believed to serve as ideal probes to test quantum chromodynamics in high-energy hadronic interactions. However, there is not yet a complete understanding of the charmonium-production mechanism. Recent measurements of $J/\psi$ production as a function of event charged-particle multiplicity at the collision energies of both the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) and the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider (RHIC) show enhanced $J/\psi$ production yields with increasing multiplicity. One potential explanation for this type of dependence is multiparton interactions (MPI). We carry out the first measurements of self-normalized $J/\psi$ yields and the $\psi(2S)$ to $J/\psi$ ratio at both forward and backward rapidities as a function of self-normalized charged-particle multiplicity in $p$$+$$p$ collisions at $\sqrt{s}=200$ GeV. In addition, detailed {\sc pythia} studies tuned to RHIC energies were performed to investigate the MPI impacts. We find that the PHENIX data at RHIC are consistent with recent LHC measurements and can only be described by {\sc pythia} calculations that include MPI effects. This paper presents FLAF, a focal line and feature-constrained active view planning method for tracking failure avoidance in feature-based visual navigation of mobile robots. Our FLAF-based visual navigation is built upon a feature-based visual teach and repeat (VT\&R) framework, which supports many robotic applications by teaching a robot to navigate on various paths that cover a significant portion of daily autonomous navigation requirements. However, tracking failure in feature-based visual simultaneous localization and mapping (VSLAM) caused by textureless regions in human-made environments is still limiting VT\&R to be adopted in the real world. To address this problem, the proposed view planner is integrated into a feature-based visual SLAM system to build up an active VT\&R system that avoids tracking failure. In our system, a pan-tilt unit (PTU)-based active camera is mounted on the mobile robot. Using FLAF, the active camera-based VSLAM operates during the teaching phase to construct a complete path map and in the repeat phase to maintain stable localization. FLAF orients the robot toward more map points to avoid mapping failures during path learning and toward more feature-identifiable map points beneficial for localization while following the learned trajectory. Experiments in real scenarios demonstrate that FLAF outperforms the methods that do not consider feature-identifiability, and our active VT\&R system performs well in complex environments by effectively dealing with low-texture regions.

One common belief is that with complex models and pre-training on large-scale datasets, transformer-based methods for referring expression comprehension (REC) perform much better than existing graph-based methods. We observe that since most graph-based methods adopt an off-the-shelf detector to locate candidate objects (i.e., regions detected by the object detector), they face two challenges that result in subpar performance: (1) the presence of significant noise caused by numerous irrelevant objects during reasoning, and (2) inaccurate localization outcomes attributed to the provided detector. To address these issues, we introduce a plug-and-adapt module guided by sub-expressions, called dynamic gate constraint (DGC), which can adaptively disable irrelevant proposals and their connections in graphs during reasoning. We further introduce an expression-guided regression strategy (EGR) to refine location prediction. Extensive experimental results on the RefCOCO, RefCOCO+, RefCOCOg, Flickr30K, RefClef, and Ref-reasoning datasets demonstrate the effectiveness of the DGC module and the EGR strategy in consistently boosting the performances of various graph-based REC methods. Recent foundation models are capable of handling multiple machine learning (ML) tasks and multiple data modalities with the unified base model structure and several specialized model components. However, the development of such multi-task (MT) multi-modal (MM) models poses significant model management challenges to existing training systems. Due to the sophisticated model architecture and the heterogeneous workloads of different ML tasks and data modalities, training these models usually requires massive GPU resources and suffers from sub-optimal system efficiency. In this paper, we investigate how to achieve high-performance training of large-scale MT MM models through data heterogeneity-aware model management optimization. The key idea is to decompose the model execution into stages and address the joint optimization problem sequentially, including both heterogeneity-aware workload parallelization and dependency-driven execution scheduling. Based on this, we build a prototype system and evaluate it on various large MT MM models. Experiments demonstrate the superior performance and efficiency of our system, with speedup ratio up to 71% compared to state-of-the-art training systems.

The Varying Speed of Light (VSL) model describes how the speed of light in a vacuum changes with cosmological redshift. Despite numerous models, there is little observational evidence for this variation. While the speed of light can be accurately measured by physical means, cosmological methods are rarely used. Previous studies quantified the speed of light at specific redshifts using Gaussian processes and reconstructed the redshift-dependent function $c(z)$. It is crucial to quantify the speed of light across varying redshifts. We use the latest data on angular diameter distances $D_A(z)$ and Hubble parameters $H(z)$ from baryon acoustic oscillation (BAO) and cosmic chronometer measurements in the redshift interval $z\in[0.07,1.965]$. The speed of light $c(z)$ is determined using Gaussian and deep Gaussian processes to reconstruct $H(z)$, $D_A(z)$, and $D^{\prime}_A(z)$. Furthermore, we conduct comparisons across three distinct models, encompassing two renowned VSL models. We get the result of the parameters constraints in the models (1) for the ``$c$-c" model, $c_0=29492.6 \pm^{6.2}_{5.3} \mathrm{~km} \mathrm{~s}^{-1}$. (2) For the ``$c$-cl" model, $c_0=29665.5 \pm^{11.2}_{11.4}\mathrm{~km} \mathrm{~s}^{-1}$ and $n=0.05535 \pm^{0.00008}_{0.00007}$. (3) For the ``$c$-CPL" model, $c_0=29555.7 \pm^{13.3}_{13.2} \mathrm{~km} \mathrm{~s}^{-1}$ and $n=-0.0607 \pm 0.0001$. Based on our findings, it may be inferred that Barrow's classical VSL model is not a suitable fit for our data. In contrast, the widely recognized Chevallier-Polarski-Linder (CPL) VSL model, under some circumstances, as well as the universal ``c is constant" model, demonstrate a satisfactory ability to account for our findings., Comment: 15 pages, 9 figures; Accepted for publication in MNRAS

Graph and network visualization supports exploration, analysis and communication of relational data arising in many domains: from biological and social networks, to transportation and powergrid systems. With the arrival of AI-based question-answering tools, issues of trustworthiness and explainability of generated answers motivate a greater role for visualization. In the context of graphs, we see the need for visualizations that can convince a critical audience that an assertion about the graph under analysis is valid. The requirements for such representations that convey precisely one specific graph property are quite different from standard network visualization criteria which optimize general aesthetics and readability. In this paper, we aim to provide a comprehensive introduction to visual proofs of graph properties and a foundation for further research in the area. We present a framework that defines what it means to visually prove a graph property. In the process, we introduce the notion of a visual certificate, that is, a specialized faithful graph visualization that leverages the viewer's perception, in particular, pre-attentive processing (e.g. via pop-out effects), to verify a given assertion about the represented graph. We also discuss the relationships between visual complexity, cognitive load and complexity theory, and propose a classification based on visual proof complexity. In the effective field theory, the massless dark photon $\gamma'$ can only couple with the Standard Model particle through operators of dimension higher than four, thereby offering a high sensitivity to the new physics energy scale. Using $7.9~\rm{fb^{-1}}$ of $e^+e^-$ collision data collected at $\sqrt{s}=3.773$ GeV with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII collider, we measure the effective flavor-changing neutral current coupling of $cu\gamma'$ in $D^0\to\omega\gamma'$ and $D^0\to\gamma\gamma'$ processes to search for the massless dark photon. No significant signals are observed, and the upper limits at the 90% confidence level on the massless dark photon branching fraction are set to be $1.1\times10^{-5}$ and $2.0\times10^{-6}$ for $D^0\to\omega\gamma'$ and $D^0\to\gamma\gamma'$, respectively. These results provide the most stringent constraint on the new physics energy scale associated with $cu\gamma'$ coupling in the world, with the new physics energy scale related parameter $|\mathbb{C}|^2+|\mathbb{C}_5|^2<8.2\times10^{-17}~\rm{GeV}^{-2}$ at the 90% confidence level, playing a unique role in the dark sector search with the charm sector., Comment: 9 pages, 4 figures

Vision-language navigation (VLN) is a critical domain within embedded intelligence, requiring agents to navigate 3D environments based on natural language instructions. Traditional VLN research has focused on improving environmental understanding and decision accuracy. However, these approaches often exhibit a significant performance gap when agents are deployed in novel environments, mainly due to the limited diversity of training data. Expanding datasets to cover a broader range of environments is impractical and costly. We propose the Vision-Language Navigation with Continual Learning (VLNCL) paradigm to address this challenge. In this paradigm, agents incrementally learn new environments while retaining previously acquired knowledge. VLNCL enables agents to maintain an environmental memory and extract relevant knowledge, allowing rapid adaptation to new environments while preserving existing information. We introduce a novel dual-loop scenario replay method (Dual-SR) inspired by brain memory replay mechanisms integrated with VLN agents. This method facilitates consolidating past experiences and enhances generalization across new tasks. By utilizing a multi-scenario memory buffer, the agent efficiently organizes and replays task memories, thereby bolstering its ability to adapt quickly to new environments and mitigating catastrophic forgetting. Our work pioneers continual learning in VLN agents, introducing a novel experimental setup and evaluation metrics. We demonstrate the effectiveness of our approach through extensive evaluations and establish a benchmark for the VLNCL paradigm. Comparative experiments with existing continual learning and VLN methods show significant improvements, achieving state-of-the-art performance in continual learning ability and highlighting the potential of our approach in enabling rapid adaptation while preserving prior knowledge.

Vision Language Navigation in Continuous Environments (VLN-CE) represents a frontier in embodied AI, demanding agents to navigate freely in unbounded 3D spaces solely guided by natural language instructions. This task introduces distinct challenges in multimodal comprehension, spatial reasoning, and decision-making. To address these challenges, we introduce Cog-GA, a generative agent founded on large language models (LLMs) tailored for VLN-CE tasks. Cog-GA employs a dual-pronged strategy to emulate human-like cognitive processes. Firstly, it constructs a cognitive map, integrating temporal, spatial, and semantic elements, thereby facilitating the development of spatial memory within LLMs. Secondly, Cog-GA employs a predictive mechanism for waypoints, strategically optimizing the exploration trajectory to maximize navigational efficiency. Each waypoint is accompanied by a dual-channel scene description, categorizing environmental cues into 'what' and 'where' streams as the brain. This segregation enhances the agent's attentional focus, enabling it to discern pertinent spatial information for navigation. A reflective mechanism complements these strategies by capturing feedback from prior navigation experiences, facilitating continual learning and adaptive replanning. Extensive evaluations conducted on VLN-CE benchmarks validate Cog-GA's state-of-the-art performance and ability to simulate human-like navigation behaviors. This research significantly contributes to the development of strategic and interpretable VLN-CE agents.

Sphaleron electroweak phase transirion (EWPT) is calculated in two phase transition stages, thereby showing that the twin (or double) bubble nucleation structure of the phase transition and gravitational wave is in the investigation area of future detectors. The parameter $a$ or $\tan\beta$ is the ratio between two vacuum average values (VEV) although it does not affect the strengh of EWPT but affect the sphaleron energy. However, it only causes this energy to increase slightly. As $a$ increases, the maximum difference of sphaleron energy in one stage is about $6.15$ TeV. $a$ affects the expansion of bubbles during two phase transitions. The more $a$ increases, the more the expansion of two bubbles is at the same time. This ratio does not greatly affect the sphaleron energy but has a strong impact on gravitational waves. The larger the masses of the charged Higgs particles is, the greater the gravitational wave energy density ($\Omega h^2$) is. When the frequency is in the range $0-1.2$ mHz, $\Omega h^2$ will has a maximum value in the range $10^{-12}-10^{-11}$ for all values of $a$ so this can be detected in the future., Comment: 26 pages, 13 figures

Due to the inherent difficulty in modeling phonetic similarities across different languages, code-switching speech recognition presents a formidable challenge. This study proposes a Collaborative-MoE, a Mixture of Experts (MoE) model that leverages a collaborative mechanism among expert groups. Initially, a preceding routing network explicitly learns Language Identification (LID) tasks and selects experts based on acquired LID weights. This process ensures robust routing information to the MoE layer, mitigating interference from diverse language domains on expert network parameter updates. The LID weights are also employed to facilitate inter-group collaboration, enabling the integration of language-specific representations. Furthermore, within each language expert group, a gating network operates unsupervised to foster collaboration on attributes beyond language. Extensive experiments demonstrate the efficacy of our approach, achieving significant performance enhancements compared to alternative methods. This paper introduces the Hamiltonian-Aware Ternary Tree (HATT) framework to compile optimized Fermion-to-qubit mapping for specific Fermionic Hamiltonians. In the simulation of Fermionic quantum systems, efficient Fermion-to-qubit mapping plays a critical role in transforming the Fermionic system into a qubit system. HATT utilizes ternary tree mapping and a bottom-up construction procedure to generate Hamiltonian aware Fermion-to-qubit mapping to reduce the Pauli weight of the qubit Hamiltonian, resulting in lower quantum simulation circuit overhead. Additionally, our optimizations retain the important vacuum state preservation property in our Fermion-to-qubit mapping and reduce the complexity of our algorithm from $O(N^4)$ to $O(N^3)$. Evaluations and simulations of various Fermionic systems demonstrate a significant reduction in both Pauli weight and circuit complexity, alongside excellent scalability to larger systems. Experiments on the Ionq quantum computer also show the advantages of our approach in noise resistance in quantum simulations.

Neural collapse (NC) is a phenomenon that emerges at the terminal phase of the training (TPT) of deep neural networks (DNNs). The features of the data in the same class collapse to their respective sample means and the sample means exhibit a simplex equiangular tight frame (ETF). In the past few years, there has been a surge of works that focus on explaining why the NC occurs and how it affects generalization. Since the DNNs are notoriously difficult to analyze, most works mainly focus on the unconstrained feature model (UFM). While the UFM explains the NC to some extent, it fails to provide a complete picture of how the network architecture and the dataset affect NC. In this work, we focus on shallow ReLU neural networks and try to understand how the width, depth, data dimension, and statistical property of the training dataset influence the neural collapse. We provide a complete characterization of when the NC occurs for two or three-layer neural networks. For two-layer ReLU neural networks, a sufficient condition on when the global minimizer of the regularized empirical risk function exhibits the NC configuration depends on the data dimension, sample size, and the signal-to-noise ratio in the data instead of the network width. For three-layer neural networks, we show that the NC occurs as long as the first layer is sufficiently wide. Regarding the connection between NC and generalization, we show the generalization heavily depends on the SNR (signal-to-noise ratio) in the data: even if the NC occurs, the generalization can still be bad provided that the SNR in the data is too low. Our results significantly extend the state-of-the-art theoretical analysis of the N C under the UFM by characterizing the emergence of the N C under shallow nonlinear networks and showing how it depends on data properties and network architecture.

Multi-modal image fusion integrates complementary information from different modalities to produce enhanced and informative images. Although State-Space Models, such as Mamba, are proficient in long-range modeling with linear complexity, most Mamba-based approaches use fixed scanning strategies, which can introduce biased prior information. To mitigate this issue, we propose a novel Bayesian-inspired scanning strategy called Random Shuffle, supplemented by an theoretically-feasible inverse shuffle to maintain information coordination invariance, aiming to eliminate biases associated with fixed sequence scanning. Based on this transformation pair, we customized the Shuffle Mamba Framework, penetrating modality-aware information representation and cross-modality information interaction across spatial and channel axes to ensure robust interaction and an unbiased global receptive field for multi-modal image fusion. Furthermore, we develop a testing methodology based on Monte-Carlo averaging to ensure the model's output aligns more closely with expected results. Extensive experiments across multiple multi-modal image fusion tasks demonstrate the effectiveness of our proposed method, yielding excellent fusion quality over state-of-the-art alternatives. Embodied AI systems, including AI-powered robots that autonomously interact with the physical world, stand to be significantly advanced by Large Language Models (LLMs), which enable robots to better understand complex language commands and perform advanced tasks with enhanced comprehension and adaptability, highlighting their potential to improve embodied AI capabilities. However, this advancement also introduces safety challenges, particularly in robotic navigation tasks. Improper safety management can lead to failures in complex environments and make the system vulnerable to malicious command injections, resulting in unsafe behaviours such as detours or collisions. To address these issues, we propose \textit{SafeEmbodAI}, a safety framework for integrating mobile robots into embodied AI systems. \textit{SafeEmbodAI} incorporates secure prompting, state management, and safety validation mechanisms to secure and assist LLMs in reasoning through multi-modal data and validating responses. We designed a metric to evaluate mission-oriented exploration, and evaluations in simulated environments demonstrate that our framework effectively mitigates threats from malicious commands and improves performance in various environment settings, ensuring the safety of embodied AI systems. Notably, In complex environments with mixed obstacles, our method demonstrates a significant performance increase of 267\% compared to the baseline in attack scenarios, highlighting its robustness in challenging conditions.

We develop a conformal analog of the theory of Poisson bialgebras as well as a bialgebra theory of Poisson conformal algebras. We introduce the notion of Poisson conformal bialgebras, which are characterized by Manin triples of Poisson conformal algebras. A class of special Poisson conformal bialgebras called coboundary Poisson conformal bialgebras are constructed from skew-symmetric solutions of the Poisson conformal Yang-Baxter equation, whose operator forms are studied. Then we show that the semi-classical limits of conformal formal deformations of commutative and cocommutative antisymmetric infinitesimal conformal bialgebras are Poisson conformal bialgebras. Finally, we extend the correspondence between Poisson conformal algebras and Poisson-Gel'fand-Dorfman algebras to the context of bialgebras, that is, we introduce the notion of Poisson-Gel'fand-Dorfman bialgebras and show that Poisson-Gel'fand-Dorfman bialgebras correspond to a class of Poisson conformal bialgebras. Edge detection in images is the foundation of many complex tasks in computer graphics. Due to the feature loss caused by multi-layer convolution and pooling architectures, learning-based edge detection models often produce thick edges and struggle to detect the edges of small objects in images. Inspired by state space models, this paper presents an edge detection algorithm which effectively addresses the aforementioned issues. The presented algorithm obtains state space variables of the image from dual-input channels with minimal down-sampling processes and utilizes these state variables for real-time learning and memorization of image text. Additionally, to achieve precise edges while filtering out false edges, a post-processing algorithm called wind erosion has been designed to handle the binary edge map. To further enhance the processing speed of the algorithm, we have designed parallel computing circuits for the most computationally intensive parts of presented algorithm, significantly improving computational speed and efficiency. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed algorithm achieves precise thin edge localization and exhibits noise suppression capabilities across various types of images. With the parallel computing circuits, the algorithm to achieve processing speeds exceeds 30 FPS on 5K images.

Generating high-fidelity, temporally consistent videos in autonomous driving scenarios faces a significant challenge, e.g. problematic maneuvers in corner cases. Despite recent video generation works are proposed to tackcle the mentioned problem, i.e. models built on top of Diffusion Transformers (DiT), works are still missing which are targeted on exploring the potential for multi-view videos generation scenarios. Noticeably, we propose the first DiT-based framework specifically designed for generating temporally and multi-view consistent videos which precisely match the given bird's-eye view layouts control. Specifically, the proposed framework leverages a parameter-free spatial view-inflated attention mechanism to guarantee the cross-view consistency, where joint cross-attention modules and ControlNet-Transformer are integrated to further improve the precision of control. To demonstrate our advantages, we extensively investigate the qualitative comparisons on nuScenes dataset, particularly in some most challenging corner cases. In summary, the effectiveness of our proposed method in producing long, controllable, and highly consistent videos under difficult conditions is proven to be effective.

Uncovering the fundamental neural correlates of biological intelligence, developing mathematical models, and conducting computational simulations are critical for advancing new paradigms in artificial intelligence (AI). In this study, we implemented a comprehensive visual decision-making model that spans from visual input to behavioral output, using a neural dynamics modeling approach. Drawing inspiration from the key components of the dorsal visual pathway in primates, our model not only aligns closely with human behavior but also reflects neural activities in primates, and achieving accuracy comparable to convolutional neural networks (CNNs). Moreover, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) identified key neuroimaging features such as structural connections and functional connectivity that are associated with performance in perceptual decision-making tasks. A neuroimaging-informed fine-tuning approach was introduced and applied to the model, leading to performance improvements that paralleled the behavioral variations observed among subjects. Compared to classical deep learning models, our model more accurately replicates the behavioral performance of biological intelligence, relying on the structural characteristics of biological neural networks rather than extensive training data, and demonstrating enhanced resilience to perturbation.

Computer-aided cancer survival risk prediction plays an important role in the timely treatment of patients. This is a challenging weakly supervised ordinal regression task associated with multiple clinical factors involved such as pathological images, genomic data and etc. In this paper, we propose a new training method, multimodal object-level contrast learning, for cancer survival risk prediction. First, we construct contrast learning pairs based on the survival risk relationship among the samples in the training sample set. Then we introduce the object-level contrast learning method to train the survival risk predictor. We further extend it to the multimodal scenario by applying cross-modal constrast. Considering the heterogeneity of pathological images and genomics data, we construct a multimodal survival risk predictor employing attention-based and self-normalizing based nerural network respectively. Finally, the survival risk predictor trained by our proposed method outperforms state-of-the-art methods on two public multimodal cancer datasets for survival risk prediction.

On a smooth closed manifold $M$, we introduce a novel theory of maximal slope curves for any pair $(\phi,H)$ with $\phi$ a semiconcave function and $H$ a Hamiltonian. By using the notion of maximal slope curve from gradient flow theory, the intrinsic singular characteristics constructed in [Cannarsa, P.; Cheng, W., \textit{Generalized characteristics and Lax-Oleinik operators: global theory}. Calc. Var. Partial Differential Equations 56 (2017), no. 5, 56:12], the smooth approximation method developed in [Cannarsa, P.; Yu, Y. \textit{Singular dynamics for semiconcave functions}. J. Eur. Math. Soc. 11 (2009), no. 5, 999--1024], and the broken characteristics studied in [Khanin, K.; Sobolevski, A., \textit{On dynamics of Lagrangian trajectories for Hamilton-Jacobi equations}. Arch. Ration. Mech. Anal. 219 (2016), no. 2, 861--885], we prove the existence and stability of such maximal slope curves and discuss certain new weak KAM features. We also prove that maximal slope curves for any pair $(\phi,H)$ are exactly broken characteristics which have right derivatives everywhere. Applying this theory, we establish a global variational construction of strict singular characteristics and broken characteristics. Moreover, we prove a result on the global propagation of cut points along generalized characteristics, as well as a result on the propagation of singular points along strict singular characteristics, for weak KAM solutions. We also obtain the continuity equation along strict singular characteristics which clarifies the mass transport nature in the problem of propagation of singularities.

The intrinsic morphology of stellar components within HI-bearing dwarf galaxies remains a topic of uncertainty. Leveraging the galaxy dataset derived from the cross-matched catalog of the Arecibo Legacy Fast Arecibo L-band Feed Array HI 21cm line survey and the Sloan Digital Sky Survey, we employ a Markov Chain Monte Carlo methodology and assume a triaxial model to scrutinize the inherent stellar distributions of these HI-bearing dwarf galaxies. Not every directed acyclic graph (DAG) whose underlying undirected graph is planar admits an upward planar drawing. We are interested in pushing the notion of upward drawings beyond planarity by considering upward $k$-planar drawings of DAGs in which the edges are monotonically increasing in a common direction and every edge is crossed at most $k$ times for some integer $k \ge 1$. We show that the number of crossings per edge in a monotone drawing is in general unbounded for the class of bipartite outerplanar, cubic, or bounded pathwidth DAGs. However, it is at most two for outerpaths and it is at most quadratic in the bandwidth in general. From the computational point of view, we prove that upward-$k$-planarity testing is NP-complete already for $k =1$ and even for restricted instances for which upward planarity testing is polynomial. Using a data sample of $e^+e^-$ collisions corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 7.93 $\rm fb^{-1}$ collected with the BESIII detector at the center-of-mass energy 3.773~GeV, we perform the first amplitude analysis of the decay $D^{+} \to K_{S}^{0} K_{S}^{0} \pi^{+}$. The absolute branching fraction of $D^{+} \to K_{S}^{0}K_{S}^{0} \pi^{+}$ is measured to be $(2.97 \pm 0.09_{\rm stat.} \pm 0.05_{\rm syst.})\times10^{-3}$. The dominant intermediate process is $D^{+} \to K_{S}^{0}K^{*}(892)^{+}$, whose branching fraction is determined to be $(8.72 \pm 0.28_{\rm stat.} \pm 0.15_{\rm syst.}) \times 10^{-3}$, including all the $K^*(892)^+$ decays.

Exciton plasmon polaritons have gained increasing interests over recent years due to their versatile properties emerging by the underlying light-matter coupling and making them potential candidates for new photonic applications. We have advanced this concept by studying thin films of laterally aligned J-type aggregates of self-assembled tetra-bay phenoxy-dendronized perylene bisimide (PBI) molecules, arranged in a helical manner of three strains on a silver surface. As a result of the interaction between the uniformly aligned dipole moments and the surface plasmons of a thin silver layer underneath, the excitonic state at 1.94 eV evolves into dispersions in absorption and emission, both characterized by a distinct anisotropy. The coupling constant defined by the scalar product of the transition dipole moment $\vec{\mu}$ and the surface plasmon wavevector $\vec{k}_x$ shows a pronounced two-fold rotational symmetry with values between almost 0 to 28 meV. Complementary TD-DFT calculations of the angular dependent absorption and photoluminescence provide insights in the coherent energy exchange between the excitonic and plasmonic sub-systems. Additionally, power dependent PL studies yield first evidence that the diffusion length of the coupled exciton-plasmon polaritons exceeds that of the mere Frenkel state in neat PBI by at least one order of magnitude. Large language model-based AI companions are increasingly viewed by users as friends or romantic partners, leading to deep emotional bonds. However, they can generate biased, discriminatory, and harmful outputs. Recently, users are taking the initiative to address these harms and re-align AI companions. We introduce the concept of user-driven value alignment, where users actively identify, challenge, and attempt to correct AI outputs they perceive as harmful, aiming to guide the AI to better align with their values. We analyzed 77 social media posts about discriminatory AI statements and conducted semi-structured interviews with 20 experienced users. Our analysis revealed six common types of discriminatory statements perceived by users, how users make sense of those AI behaviors, and seven user-driven alignment strategies, such as gentle persuasion and anger expression. In this paper, we study one-loop contributions to the processes $\gamma \gamma \rightarrow \phi_i\phi_j$ with CP-even Higgses $\phi_{i,j} \equiv h,~H$ at high energy photon-photon collision, within the Higgs Extensions of the Standard Models, considering Inert Higgs Doublet Models and Two Higgs Doublet Models. Analytic results for one-loop form factors of the processes under investigations are written in terms of the scalar Passarino-Veltman functions in following the standard notations of the packages {\tt LoopTools} and {\tt Collier}. As a result, the physical results can be generated by using one of the above-mentioned packages. Pair density wave (PDW) is a distinct superconducting state characterized by a periodic modulation of its order parameter in real space. Its intricate interplay with the charge density wave (CDW) state is a continuing topic of interest in condensed matter physics. While PDW states have been discovered in cuprates and other unconventional superconductors, the understanding of diverse PDWs and their interactions with different types of CDWs remains limited. Here, utilizing scanning tunneling microscopy, we unveil the subtle correlations between PDW ground states and two distinct CDW phases -- namely, anion-centered-CDW (AC-CDW) and hollow-centered-CDW (HC-CDW) -- in 2H-NbSe$_2$. In both CDW regions, we observe coexisting PDWs with a commensurate structure that aligns with the underlying CDW phase. The superconducting gap size, $\Delta(r)$, related to the pairing order parameter is in phase with the charge density in both CDW regions. Meanwhile, the coherence peak height, $H(r)$, qualitatively reflecting the electron-pair density, exhibits a phase difference of approximately $2\pi/3$ relative to the CDW. The three-fold rotational symmetry is preserved in the HC-CDW region but is spontaneously broken in the AC-CDW region due to the PDW state, leading to the emergence of nematic superconductivity., Comment: 21 pages, 5 figures

Considering the high-performance and low-power requirements of edge AI, this study designs a specialized instruction set processor for edge AI based on the RISC-V instruction set architecture, addressing practical issues in digital signal processing for edge devices. This design enhances the execution efficiency of edge AI and reduces its energy consumption with limited hardware overhead, meeting the demands for efficient large language model (LLM) inference computation in edge AI applications. The main contributions of this paper are as follows: For the characteristics of large language models, custom instructions were extended based on the RISC-V instruction set to perform vector dot product calculations, accelerating the computation of large language models on dedicated vector dot product acceleration hardware. Based on the open-source high-performance RISC-V processor core XiangShan Nanhu architecture, the vector dot product specialized instruction set processor Nanhu-vdot was implemented, which adds vector dot product calculation units and pipeline processing logic on top of the XiangShan Nanhu.The Nanhu-vdot underwent FPGA hardware testing, achieving over four times the speed of scalar methods in vector dot product computation. Using a hardware-software co-design approach for second-generation Generative Pre-Trained Transformer (GPT-2) model inference, the speed improved by approximately 30% compared to pure software implementation with almost no additional consumption of hardware resources and power consumption., Comment: 10 pages, in Chinese language, 6 figures
