RATIONALISM , *SELF-consciousness (Awareness) , *STUDENTS - Abstract
Pedagogy, love, positivistic rationalism: these are the three themes that this study wants to investigate in Unamuno's novel: Amor y Pedagogía (1902). Is an education based on exclusively rationalistic criteria possible? The development and themes present in Unamun's novel tell us that it is not possible. But, moreover, it tells us that hesitating between different pedagogical or education models has even more harmful effects, because they condemn the student not to assume an identity and self-awareness. From this point of view, the combination of love and pedagogy is irreconcilable. Starting from this framework, considerations are made on the conditions of education/training in the current Italian school. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
Divine peacemaking overcomes the animosity of man and creates reconciliation out of love (Rom 5:1-11). Christians are called to continue in the work of reconciliation. Christian peacemaking happens as an actual synchronous coexistence of two different conditions with the simultaneity of different principles: human sin and the active love toward people in need (Luther) or the readiness to take responsibility and bear “the cross” of this world in following after Christ (Bonhoeffer). The change of paradigm in Christian ethics toward Just Peace is an important development. However, the goal of legal system promoting just peace by means of pacifism creates problems for the theory of law. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This survey intends to reassess the well known view of Anders Nygren who believes that the difference between eros and agape is key in the early Christian literature, and in this respect it considers the case of Origen of Alexandria (185-254) who, in the original Greek fragments of his Commentary on the Song of Songs, passed down to us also in the partial Latin translation of Rufinus of Aquileia, though he is aware of the original semantic difference between them, employs them as synonyms and applies them to supersensible and spiritual entities. DATABASES ,DEFAULT (Finance) - Abstract
Purpose: To introduce universal modes by applying the universal pulse concept to time‐interleaved acquisition of modes (TIAMO), thereby achieving calibration‐free B1+$$ {B}_1^{+} $$ inhomogeneity mitigation for body imaging at ultra‐high fields. Methods: Two databases of different RF arrays were used to demonstrate the feasibility of universal modes. The first comprised 31 cardiac in vivo data sets acquired at 7T while the second consisted of 6 simulated 10.5T pelvic data sets. Subject‐specific solutions and universal modes were computed and subsequently evaluated alongside predefined default modes. For the cardiac database, subdivision into subpopulations was investigated. The optimization was performed using least‐squares (LS) TIAMO and acquisition modes optimized for refocused echoes (AMORE). Finally, universal modes based on simulated pelvis data were applied in vivo at 10.5T. Results: In all studied cases, the universal modes yield improvements over the predefined default modes of up to 51% (cardiac) and 30% (pelvic) in terms of median excitation error when using two modes. The subpopulation‐specific cardiac solutions revealed a further improvement of universal modes at the expense of increased errors when applied outside the appropriate subpopulation. Direct application of simulation‐based universal modes in vivo resulted in up to a 14% reduction in excitation error compared to default modes and up to a 34% reduction in peak 10 g local specific absorption rate (SAR) compared to subject‐specific solutions. Conclusions: Universal modes are feasible for calibration‐free B1+$$ {B}_1^{+} $$ inhomogeneity mitigation at ultra‐high fields. In addition, simulation‐based solutions can be applied directly in vivo, eliminating the need for large in vivo databases. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

8. IL CANZONIERE AMOROSO DI LUDOVICO PASCHALE.

- Abstract
In this article, we engaged in the analytical extraction of the structure of the love novel in verse by the 16th-century poet Ludovico Paschale, from the Bay of Kotor. We employed a comparative and literary-historical method to reconstruct Paschale's Canzoniere. This poetic anthology was published in 1549 in the capital city of the Republic of Venice and comprises a total of 209 poems. The majority of the poems are sonnets, but alongside this demanding poetic form, the anthology also contains madrigals, canzoni, capitoli, and stanzas. In addition to Paschale's poems, the author preserved one poem by his father in his only published collection of poetry during his lifetime. The collection is divided into two parts. In our work, we analyzed lyrical poems with a love theme from the first, longer part of the anthology, preceded by a dedication addressed to Martija Grizogono from Zadar. We then extracted elements of the love novel from Paschale's canzoniere, starting from the initial encounter with the beloved through the transformation of his love into divine love. The analysis encompassed both the macrostructure of the collection and the microstructure of individual texts. In the macrostructure, we identified which poems realize the individual elements of the love novel, while the microanalysis concerned linguistic-stylistic and poetic aspects as well as general themes. We additionally explored influences that shaped Ludovico Paschale as an author, including influences from Petrarchan literature, Bemboism, and troubadour lyricism. A significant part of our article focused on determining the authentic characteristics of Paschale's love novel in verse that successfully set him apart from his models, as well as numerous cold imitators. We concluded that Ludovico Paschale adheres to the stylistic and thematic conventions of his era but adds his own authenticity. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In its typical form, an "anima projection" is a psychic experience in which a heterosexual man is caught up by an intense, almost magical attraction for a woman. What sets these numinous experiences apart from a common "crush" is a pattern of specific phenomenological characteristics. Anima projections are particularly common in late adolescence and early adulthood, when they can cause a deep sense of disorientation. Little education exists for young men on how to deal with these experiences and to actualize the developmental opportunity that underlies them. In this paper, I frame anima projections as an ethical problem and outline a psycho‐ethical "map" that is intended for use by disoriented young men, or by any practitioner who may be tasked with helping them navigate this challenge along the path of individuation. The map considers four solutions to the love problem: the "concretistic‐literal", the "fearful‐avoidant", the "rational‐depressive", and the "transitional‐developmental" solution, and indicates the latter as the one that is conducive to optimal psychic development. Although developed with a focus on young men, the map may apply to other relations based on projection, regardless of age, sex, gender, or sexual orientation. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

12. Dante e l’amore come fondamento della politica.

- Abstract
This essay aims to evaluate the ways in which Italian literature can face the contemporary educational challenges. For this purpose, a reading path within the Divine Comedy is chosen. The poetry of the Comedy places love-charity as the formal principle of the world capable of reversing in the human soul the ethical drift towards avarice and greed embodied in the allegorical figure of the lupa. The path to man's salvation, therefore, within Dante's work can be considered as a process of realizing the political nature of man in love. Furthermore, the proposed reading path intends to promote an education in the encounter with the otherness of the text and a reflection on the ethical universes advanced by it. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
Education in love, commonly called sexual and emotional education, is a sensitive issue, even more if it is part of school curricula, due to the correlation with anthropological-moral and political-legal visions. In this sense, the identification of shared guidelines presupposes a preliminary clarification of the horizon of meaning in which education on sexuality and affectivity is intended to be placed. This is what we propose to do in this contribution, intent on tracing the meaning of the educational process and its declination with reference to human love. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
Bernhard Häring's The Law of Christ (1954) opens up the perspectives of the "law of faith" (Rom. 3:27) to that responsibility for the gift of life that arises from a personal and communal encounter with the God of life and love. The moral response of the person is preceded by the call of Christ, in a dynamic and liberating relationship between the gift of grace and the task of following Him in the freedom of evangelical growth. Bernard Häring has thus realized a paradigm change between the moral subject's submission to merely human regulations and the filial freedom to give a joyful response to the "law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus" (Rom. 8:2). Such a response becomes a way of evangelical solidarity among those who "bear one another's burdens" (Gal. 6:2), in the joy of being an agapic expression of the "law of Christ," received as a gift and accepted as a commitment to participate in the life of the Trinity. - Abstract
This essay presents a comparison of issues inherent in education developed by two brilliant philosophers: the phenomenologist Edith Stein, later Sister Teresa Benedicta of the Cross, and the skills theorist Martha Nussbaum. Its purpose is to show how comparing and integrating the two approaches with each other can provide a comprehensive method for an approach to education. This paper focuses in particular on three areas of investigation that are particularly dear to both philosophers: 1) empathy 2) women 3) flourishing in vocations or human abilities. Despite the age of the Restoration, through a toxic Romanticism, was at the origin of nationalistic, irrational and warlike currents, sometimes with possible racist developments in several areas of Europe, in Italy, during the same Restoration, there was on the contrary an initial emergence, within Catholic culture, of spiritual and ethical-political visions centered on peace. In this essay, reflecting on several works of Rosmini, the great Italian philosopher and classical liberal priest, and on his great friend, the writer and Catholic liberal Alessandra Manzoni, we see the birth and development of this original vision of European peace, founded on education, religion and love. OSTO, GIULIO
- Abstract
Starting from the contribution of the Austrian thinker Ferdinand Ebner (1882-1931), the article initially offers a survey of the cultural diagnosis of the early Twentieth Century, secondly of the proposals for its transformation. The loss of speech, the solipsism of the Ego and the abstractness of reason are the factors of the crisis to which to respond with the spiritual essence of language, the recovery of the «I-You» relationship and the right relationship, i.e. the one that says together «Love and Word». A grammar of brotherhood emerges in which trust, co-humanity, the humanity of Christ, the concreteness of personal relationships and prayer constitute the fundamental elements. Ebner's thought emerges in its topicality and relevance for the contemporary context which can be interpreted in the light of his proposals and equally transformed by the assumption of the inescapable relational and dialogic constitution of the human being, simultaneously the source of the religious-praying relationship and of the social-fraternal one. - Abstract
We report a study on the background of the Advanced Molybdenum-Based Rare process Experiment (AMoRE), a search for neutrinoless double beta decay (0 ν β β) of 100Mo. The pilot stage of the experiment was conducted using ∼ 1.9 kg of 48 depl Ca 100 MoO 4 crystals at the Yangyang Underground Laboratory, South Korea, from 2015 to 2018. We compared the measured β / γ energy spectra in three experimental configurations with the results of Monte Carlo simulations and identified the background sources in each configuration. We replaced several detector components and enhanced the neutron shielding to lower the background level between configurations. A limit on the half-life of 0 ν β β decay of 100Mo was found at T 1 / 2 0 ν ≥ 3. 0 × 1 0 23 years at 90% confidence level, based on the measured background and its modeling. Further reduction of the background rate in the AMoRE-I and AMoRE-II are discussed. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The clinical material outlined in the study lends itself to analyzing some bridge concepts that allow us to employ the psychoanalytic model to obtain satisfactory interpretations of phenomena such as corporeality, eroticism, and love. According to Freud the body is Körper, meaning the real body, object of biology and “rock” upon which psychic develops, but also Leib, which is the body as a vital substance. The subjects of the clinical study present the mother’s body as a problematic, perhaps traumatic, element. Remarkably, the three instances are prevailingly characterized by the unspoken, the impossibility of creating a true connection between mind and body through words, the only tool that could humanize the animal experience of birth. - Abstract
The present article exposes the relationship between love, society and history in Augustine of Hippo. Initially, it reports some biographical background on Augustine and the co-presence in his writings of theology and philosophy. Then it mentions creation as the beginning of the world and of the time. Then it moves on to the possibility, for Augustine, of the progress of individuals and societies and to his rectilinear conception of the history. After that, it briefly summarizes Augustine’s relational anthropology and then extensively treats, in his social philosophy, love as the principle of sociality, peace and social harmony. At that point, it moves on to libido dominandi and translatio imperii in history and reports Augustine’s treatment of the two loves that forever generated two peculiar societies. Then it exposes a part of Augustine’s reply to the pagans, who accused Christianity of being guilty of the devastation of Rome done by the Visigoths in 410, dealing with the augustinian justification of the right of populations to self-defense fighting. Finally, it concludes on the end of history as eternity and the triumph of love.

The Article is faced with a spiritual interpretation of Otherness and community from a theological point of view. In accordance with the teaching of the New Testament, the starting point is the novelty that God has achieved in the death and resurrection of the Only Begotten Son of the Father, which opens wide the abyss of charity within which grows and nourishes the life of the new human being (Col 3:9-10) called to love the «brother for whom Christ died» (1Cor 8:11). - Abstract
When we talk about 'power', we're often referring to subjugation by external forces, to potentially abusive situations, to violence and to the objectification of humanity. In short, we often talk about power when we feel powerless, so we end up focusing on its destructive aspects. We experience a plethora of different powers: economic power, political power, religious power, the power of nature, parental power, the power of a boss or master. It's always an asymmetric relation; someone holds the reins of power, and the others must submit. Our psyche, whether on a collective or individual level, seeks to express itself and to be acknowledged. We fight to become, to realize our potential, to get ever closer to our individuation process. Power dynamics however, go beyond such collective (and frequently sombre) arrangements: power is also an essentially creative force. In this paper I want to discuss power as something intrinsic to all creation. Through the symbolic analysis of myths and legends, I argue for the need to integrate the deep feminine in the exercise of power in order to release and express its full potential. I also discuss the need for power, love and wisdom to work together as complementary forces. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

«From psychoanalysis to juridical thought» (Contri, 1994): this is the direction of the theoretical thinking of Giacomo B. Contri (1941-2022), a Freudian after Lacan, as shown in the articles and interviews published in the journal Psicoterapia e Scienze Umane [Psychotherapy and the Human Sciences] from 1989 to 2016, which we retrace here. Contri develops a revolutionary paradigm, with the twofold result of advancing the science of the unconscious inaugurated by Freud and correcting the errors of his master: «From Lacan I learned to be a Freudian» (Guerrieri & Contri, 1993, p. 103). If the unconscious is a third law after nature and nurture, since the thought elaborates the conditions of satisfaction from the very beginning by means of another person, the psychoanalyst treats the unconscious in crisis by means of the thought itself. The step taken by Contri in 2010 was decisive: noting that a School leaves the teacher/pupil model intact - mass psychology - he founded the Società Amici del Pensiero "Sigmund Freud" [Society of Friends of Thought "Sigmund Freud"], thus radicalizing the detachment from the Lacanian paradigm.

Madonna Fiammetta, the protagonist of the Elegia (homodiegetic) dedicated to her by Boccaccio, announces in the prologue she wants to «tell her cases» («narrare i casi suoi»). After having retrieved two chapters of her very short and passionate love story with her lover who seduced and then abandoned her, it is clear she wants to share with us the swing of her passionate mood states after she had been abandoned by the traitor who gave no longer any news despite his promise to come back. The cyclical trend of sentiments, only interrupted by the tentative of cure (proposed by relatives) or the heroin’s suicidal attempts, which all failed, represent a sort of anti-narration, if the concept of narration is the timely sequential deployment of events aimed to an end. The essay, after analyzing the paradoxical temporality of the elegiac narration, elaborate on the meaning that narration can have in such a contest.

MUONS , *NEUTRONS - Abstract
AMoRE (Advanced Mo-based Rare process Experiment) is an experiment to search a neutrinoless double-beta decay of 100Mo in molybdate crystals. The neutron and muon-induced backgrounds are crucial to obtain the zero-background level (< 10 − 5 counts/(keV · kg · yr)) for the AMoRE-II experiment, which is the second phase of the AMoRE project, planned to run at YEMI underground laboratory. To evaluate the effects of neutron and muon-induced backgrounds, we performed Geant4 Monte Carlo simulations and studied a shielding strategy for the AMORE-II experiment. Neutron-induced backgrounds were also included in the study. In this paper, we estimated the background level in the presence of possible shielding structures, which meet the background requirement for the AMoRE-II experiment. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In this contribution we present the versions of love proposed by Massimo Recalcati and François Jullien as alternatives to the freudian interpretation, imprinted on the narcissistic reflection. The confrontation with the lacanian theory will show the link between narcissistic love and the Ego's defense mechanisms, in opposition to the creative possibilities that a courageous love, as a relationship of distinctive nature, can reserve the subject. The novel L'uomo che guarda by Alberto Moravia and the movie French Suite by Saul Dibb will be analyzed as examples of brave love.

QUADRILATERALS , *FINITE element method - Abstract
• We give the formulation of new 4-node overlapping quadrilateral finite elements. • The elements are insensitive to mesh distortions. • We demonstrate their performance in several numerical examples. • We illustrate how the overlapping elements can be utilized in the AMORE scheme of analysis. We give the formulation of new 4-node overlapping quadrilateral finite elements and demonstrate their performance in several numerical examples. The elements are insensitive to mesh distortions and lead overall to accurate numerical solutions. We show how the quadrilateral elements are utilized in the AMORE scheme of " a utomatic m eshing with o verlapping and r egular e lements". Since in this paradigm the finite elements interior to the domain of analysis are undistorted regular elements and the distortion-tolerant overlapping elements are used for discretizations near the boundaries, high solution accuracy is achieved. This accuracy is obtained with much less effort for meshing than in traditional finite element analysis and with a reasonable computational expense. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

PSYCHOTHERAPY , *CONVERSATION , *DESIRE , *LOVE , *SELF-control - Abstract
This paper about the desire to keep even ourselves under control and in order, does not set out to show that the author, having himself under control and in order, is able to make masterful links between psychoanalytic theory and practice. It is a paper that takes up and illustrates with client work Socrates' argument in Plato's dialogue, Phaedrus, that although technical mastery and self-control are necessary, without the madness of love and passion, what is produced and the life that is lived is limited, arid, crude, unfulfilled and unfulfilling. The paper shows a passion for speaking and listening that may help to take our conversations outside the walls of the city: outside of where we usually speak and listen, outside of 'normal', 'natural' and permitted. This passion for listening and speaking is a divine madness, that can help to lift us out of foolish, complacent and calculative ways of being, inspiring us to consider and revere another person and our own existence. Love in this dialogue is not something that we have under our control. It is rather something that might lead us to philosophy as Plato seemed to value it, to speaking about what is important to us, to companionship and conversation. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

PSYCHOTHERAPY , *HELP-seeking behavior , *FAMILIES , *HUMAN sexuality , *LOVE - Abstract
Post-romanticism can be viewed as an historical construct that can be applied to singular experiences as well as broad understandings of change in couple and family relationships. This commentary focuses on the former approach, building on the six papers in this special issue. Four interconnected themes are explored: the relationship between falling in love and partner choice; the pull of narcissism and push of relating present in every developing love relationship; the experience of loss involved in surrendering illusion; and an exploration of what love in the consulting room might look like. The broad conclusion arrived at is that stable and satisfying relationships are post-romantic in the sense that they have in common the capacity to engage with and develop from the many minor deaths associated with enduring love. This provides a definition of the task therapists are often asked to assist with by those seeking help for troubled relationships. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

PSYCHOTHERAPY , *INDIVIDUALISM , *TABOO , *LOVE , *FAMILIES - Abstract
This paper questions the idea that within families love should always be unconditional and raises the issue of family estrangement in the context of psychotherapy. It will look at whether there has been a generational shift towards individualism and consider how this affects the notion of love. Does the author respond to her clients from a belief that love should be unconditional or from a vicarious wish to be free from her own difficult family members? Is the therapeutic space available for the taboo of unconditional family love to be fully explored? The author will explore her experience as a psychological therapist working with people estranged from family in order to examine her own biases.Family relationships, as well as romantic relationships, are impacted by the culture we live in, and therapeutic relationships are affected by the therapist's unconscious and conscious biases. In response to the question posed the author concludes that love between adults is always conditional even if this is a truth we cannot fully accept. Although conditions on love may be seen as healthy in a romantic relationship, the bonds between family members are generally held up as sacrosanct and unbreakable. This makes the choice to walk away from family difficult for wider society, therapists and estranged individuals to bear. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

MERCY of God , *AFTERLIFE , *MERCY , *HOPE , *ETERNITY - Abstract
The dimension of mercy is a fundamental reality for the Christian and should never be lost sight of. Living in God’s mercy means being inclined to walk towards the perspective of eternal life. With this attitude, our every gesture has a flavour of eternity. Living in God’s mercy is to have utmost faith in Jesus, who died and rose again to give us their own immortality. Let us remember: we are not people without hope, persons wandering in the dark. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The platonic dialogue, Symposium, is approached here through client work. This rich and complex text is not rushed through as if the point of a conversation must be its swift and clear termination, rather than how potentially fruitful, generative and transformative it is or may come to be when we reflect or engage in further conversation. This paper suggests that Symposium presents us with two ways of thinking about relating to another, and ends with some remarks about this platonic dialogue and psychotherapy that could, of course, be followed by more conversation.
