Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi perbedaan dalam kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi (HOTS) siswa terkait konsep hidrostatika dalam IPA terpadu tipe connected antara kelompok yang mengikuti pembelajaran berbasis masalah (PBL) dan kelompok yang tidak. Selain itu, studi ini juga bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh dari penerapan model PBL terhadap kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi siswa. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah eksperimen dengan desain kuasi-eksperimental, dilaksanakan di kelas VIII MTs Muhammadiyah Al-Haq Palu. Sampel terdiri dari dua kelas: satu kelas eksperimen menerapkan PBL dan satu kelas kontrol menggunakan metode discovery learning. Data dikumpulkan melalui tes keterampilan berpikir tingkat tinggi yang berbentuk tes esai dengan 6 soal. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tidak ada perbedaan signifikan dalam kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi antara siswa yang menggunakan PBL dengan yang tidak, sebagaimana dibuktikan oleh hasil uji beda (t-test), dengan nilai signifikansi (2-tailed) sebesar 0,183 > 0,05. Namun, penerapan PBL dalam konsep hidrostatika dalam IPA terpadu tipe connected terbukti efektif meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi siswa, dengan N-Gain kelas eksperimen sebesar 0,65 (kategori sedang) dan kelas kontrol sebesar 0,63 (kategori sedang). Selain itu, setiap indikator keterampilan berpikir tingkat tinggi menunjukkan peningkatan yang lebih signifikan pada kelas eksperimen dibandingkan dengan kelas kontrol.

Literacy is crucial for instructors and students because it promotes understanding in reading, writing, and communication tasks. To provide various benefits, this study incorporates local knowledge into Articulate Storyline educational media. In response to the difficulties mentioned, this study attempts to use the Articulate Storyline program as a teaching tool to increase students' reading literacy. This study employs a quantitative methodology and focuses on factors and how they interact. The one-shot case study approach was employed to investigate the learning program's immediate effects. This design focuses on observing the impact at a single time point without using a control group. The study was conducted in SD INPRES 9 and SD INPRES 50 Papua, focusing on 4th-graders. As a result of receiving the same treatment, the high, medium, and poor groups have various degrees of literacy. Compared to other groups, the high group has superior literacy, whereas the medium group has better literacy than the low group. By encouraging active and significant engagement, technology in education raises the standard of learning. All student groups benefit significantly from developing literacy skills in primary schools since it allows them to decide for themselves what information to trust.

ABSTRACT Maternal Mortality Rate (MMR) represents fatalities during pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period due to complications, not external factors. Timely detection is crucial for preventing maternal deaths, necessitating integrated planning. The "Kartu Skor Poedji Rochjati" (KSPR) emerges as a vital tool for identifying high-risk pregnancies, facilitating urgent referrals to mitigate complications and enhance healthcare. A literature review on maternal mortality, risk assessment tools, and KSPR effectiveness will be conducted to address the issues. The findings are expected to highlight KSPR's pivotal role in identifying at-risk pregnant women, enabling prompt referrals, and reducing maternal mortality rates. Case studies and data analysis will enrich our understanding of the tool's impact on maternal healthcare. The apex of public health involves embracing health-conscious lifestyles, reflected in indicators like mortality and morbidity. Proactively identifying high-risk pregnancies using KSPR is a strategic step in averting maternal mortality. Leveraging KSPR allows early intervention, reducing complications and contributing to enhanced maternal health, aligning with the goal of minimizing mortality risks.

Sampah plastik merupakan jenis sampah yang sulit terurai dan paling banyak ditemukan di lingkungan. Sampah plastik seperti botol plastik merupakan produk sekali pakai dan biasanya dibuang sembarangan tempat yang jika dibiarkan secara terus-menerus akan menyebabkan pencemaran lingkungan. Salah satu permasalahan utama yang dihadapi oleh mitra yang merupakan sekolah berasrama yaitu manajemen sampah dimana jumlah sampah plastik yang dihasilkan setiap harinya cukup signifikan. Tujuan dari kegiatan ini yaitu memberikan pelatihan dan pendampingan dalam pemanfaatan sampah plastik khususnya botol plastik sebagai instalasi hidroponik untuk budidaya tanaman sayuran. Metode yang diterapkan dalam kegiatan ini yaitu ceramah, dan praktik yang terdiri dari tahapan sosialisasi, pelatihan dan pendampingan. Pengukuran peningkatan pengetahuan dan keterampilan peserta dilakukan melalui pemberian pretest dan posttest. Setelah pemberian materi dan praktik, kegiatan ini berhasil meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan peserta dalam memanfaatkan sampah botol plastik menjadi produk kreatif berupa media tanam hidroponik. Selain itu, kegiatan ini juga mendorong kemandirian ekonomi sekolah yang merupakan sekolah berasrama.

Gamification significantly enhances students' engagement and motivation, leading to better language learning outcomes. Quiziz-basedtasks are accessible and convenient, increasing students' engagement and motivation in language learning. A case study research design was used in this article to describe the implementation of Quiziz-based tasks in teaching grammar in Maritime Academy. The participants of the study were 30 EFL students from a private university. The study aimed to examine the effectiveness of Quiziz-basedtasks in improving the grammar knowledge and proficiency of the EFL students. The result shows that Students find Quiziz-basedtasks helpful for learning grammar, as they are interactive, engaging, and customized to target specific grammar points. The interactive and personalized nature of Quiziz-basedtasks, along with immediate feedback, contribute to students' improvement in grammar knowledge and proficiency. Thus, use of Quiziz-basedtasks in Maritime Academy enhances grammar instruction by increasing student engagement, motivation, and knowledge of grammar rules. and encourages students to actively participate in the learning process.

This study aims to provide an overview of the role of the creative industries in driving regional economic growth in Aceh, Indonesia. This study uses secondary data from official government agencies observed from 2011 to 2016. We use the Ordinary Least Squares (OLS) estimation to estimate the impact. The results showed that, partially, employment in the creative industries had a positive and significant effect on economic growth, while the value of exports in the creative industries had no significant effect. However, simultaneously these two variables have a positive and significant influence on economic growth. This finding implies the importance of stakeholder involvement to strengthen the performance and contribution of the creative industry in the future.

Increased water runoff due to land use change phenomena has triggered flooding events. The objective is to identify flood potential in Simbang Sub-Watershed in Maros Regency using rational methods and remote sensing data. Potential flood hazards were analyzed using the weighting method with the parameters NDVI, MNDWI, NDSI, rainfall, and annual flow coefficient. The highest debit of runoff occurred in 2017, with a value of 113.36 m3/s, while the lowest occurred in 2019, with a value of 63.91 m3/s. The NDVI value is 0.37–1 with high vegetation covering an area of 3,089 ha, while the low-very low vegetation has value -0.03–0.25 with an area of 1,668 ha. The MNDWI value ranges from 0-0.33 with a moderate wetness level covering an area of 741 ha and an NDSI value ranging from -0.06–0.43 for bare land surrounding an area of 738 ha, which has an impact on reducing water catchment areas which can trigger an increase in surface water runoff discharge. The average rainfall is 2,965 mm/year, the area with low potential for flooding is 3,705 ha, and the area prone (moderate) to flooding is 1,450 ha. The rainfall factor is the main priority trigger for flood events with weight of 0.266, and the soil index is the lowest priority factor with weight of 0.145. Surface water runoff in the Simbang Sub-Watershed area makes a small contribution to the flood events that occurred in Maros Regency with an annual flow coefficient value of 0.23.

Literacy development in Indonesia is still reported to be low. This is written in the findings of a 2020 program for international student assessment (PISA) survey, which found that Indonesia ranked 72 out of 79 countries in the world in reading literacy. During the Covid-19 pandemic, the implementation of the school literacy movement program was done online. The purpose of this study is to investigate the implementation of SLM throughout the Covid-19 era, as well as the barriers encountered by teachers during the SLM implementation process. The case study method is used in this work, which takes a qualitative approach. Data was collected by observation, interviews, and documentation, and data was analyzed utilizing triangulation techniques in three stages: collection, reduction, and conclusion. The findings revealed that schools were still practicing the three steps of SLM, namely habituation, development, and learning. During the epidemic, literacy exercises are introduced in which students are directed to be productive in their work through writing tasks. The work of the students is published in the form of a book. The challenge to implement SLM during the Covid-19 pandemic has been teachers' inability to manage students' reading comprehension exercises properly.

ABSTRACTRenewable energies have gained momentum in energy transition agenda based on the benefit of lower emissions of carbon and its compounds. Many technologies have been developed at different technology readiness levels addressing climate change impact with reduced emissions of greenhouse gases such as CO2. Herein the perspective article, we have reviewed CO2 capture technologies, such as absorption, adsorption, membrane separation, cryogenic separation and separation via hydrate formation, with further focus on the possibility of utilising ocean thermal energy conversion (OTEC) power to generate green hydrogen and produce low carbon fuels. The potential of OTEC generated hydrogen to produce methanol was explored using a simulation exercise utilising a scenario from a real-life offshore gas production facility. By varying the catalysts and reaction conditions, the findings showed encouraging results of CO2 conversion of ≥50% and product yield of ≥80%. Considering single path reaction with 90%, 95% and 99% of recycling, the highest prediction of methanol production coupled with CO2 hydrogenation process was 276.59 metric tonnes per day (MTPD). In addition, based on the assumption of 13.5 million standard cubic feet per day (MMSCFD) of CO2 produced, 204 MW of OTEC power is required to convert approximately 97.82 MTPD of hydrogen for methanol production making it potentially an industrially viable process.

This study aims to improve students' physics learning outcomes of class VII SMP Negeri 1 Torue by using learning cycle 5E model assisted with computer simulation. Design of this action research methods follows the model of Kemmis and Mc. Taggart and it was done in two cycles. Each cycle consists of four stages of planning, implementation of action, observation and reflection. The subjects of this study are students of class VIIE SMP Negeri 1 Torue which amounted to 24 students. They consist of 13 male and 11 female students. The research material for cycle I is “form of substance” and cycle II materil is “expansion”. In this study, data were collected through observation and student activity, test of action result and interviews. On the evaluation of cycle I, we obtained classical completeness about 65.21% and classical absorption was about 68.26%. Student activity is in “enough category” with percentage about 78,25%. Teacher activity is in “good category” with 85% percentage. In the second cycle, we obtained learning classical completeness about 86.96% and classical absorption about 81.96%. Student activity and teacher activity are in “very good categories” with percentages of 90% and 96.67%, respectively. It was concluded that the implementation of 5E learning cycle learning model assisted computer simulation can improve student learning result of VIIE grade SMP Negeri 1 Torue.

This paper presents the results from 1.6 litre, 4 cylinders stratified charge compressed natural gas (CNG) direct injection engine with boosting device. A turbocharger with compressor trim of 40 was used to increase engine output. The engine was tested at wide open throttle (WOT) and speed ranging from 1000 to 5000 rpm. Engine performance and emissions data were recorded under steady state condition. Results show turbocharged CNG engine produced an average of 26% increment in brake power and 24% additional maximum brake torque as compared with natural aspirated (NA) CNG engine. Turbocharged CNG engine improved brake specific fuel consumption (BSFC) and yielded higher fuel conversion efficiency (FCE). Relatively turbocharged CNG engine showed lower emission of hydrocarbon (HC) and carbon monoxide (CO) throughout tested engine speed. Conversely, the carbon dioxide (CO2) and nitrogen oxide (NOx) emission produced were slightly higher compared with NA CNG engine.

Purpose. To evaluate the outcome of reconstruction for chronic grade-II posterior cruciate ligament (PCL) deficiency in Malaysian military personnel. Methods. Medical records of 16 male military personnel aged 25 to 41 years who underwent reconstruction for chronic grade-II PCL deficiency using the quadruple hamstrings tendon by a single surgeon were reviewed. The mean time from injury to surgery was 43.6 (range, 3–104) months. 10 patients had grade-I (n=4), grade-III (n=2), and grade-IV (n=4) lesions of the medial femoral condyles. Seven patients had medial (n=6) and lateral (n=1) meniscus tears. At the 2-year follow-up, patients were asked to complete a questionnaire consisting of the Lysholm score, Tegner activity level, and International Knee Documentation Committee (IKDC) Subjective Knee Evaluation Form. Posterior drawer test, KT-2000 arthrometer test for posterior translation of the tibia, and military health grade (MHG) were assessed by an independent assessor. Results. At the 2-year follow-up, the mean Lysholm score was 83; the score was excellent in 2 patients, good in 9, fair in 4, and poor in one. The mean IKDC subjective score was 74. The median Tegner activity level increased from 5.5 to 6. The posterior drawer test of 11 patients improved to grade I and the remaining 5 remained at grade II. The mean posterior translation of the tibia was 2.4 mm postoperatively; the posterior translation was normal in 8 patients, nearly normal in 7, and abnormal (≥6 mm) in one. The MHG improved in 14 patients and remained unchanged in 2. The latter 2 patients had no chondral lesion or meniscus injury. The first one was 40 years old with a postoperative IKDC score of 55 and a Tegner activity level of 2. The second one was 34 years old with a postoperative IKDC score of 65 and posterior translation of the tibia of 6 mm. Conclusion. Surgical reconstruction for chronic grade-II PCL injury achieved satisfactory outcome and may be appropriate for military personnel.

Introduction: Strenuous physical activity, such as military training, is known to demand a high degree of physical performance and to cause overuse injuries. The purpose of this study is to determine the occurrence of anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction surgery among army personnel in Hospital Angkatan Tentera Lumut. Methodology: We reviewed all sports related surgeries performed on army personnel in Lumut Military Hospital from December 2004 until November 2005. Demographic data of those underwent ACL reconstruction surgery were collected from surgical registry record and analyzed. Result: There were 124 surgeries related to sport injury. Fifty seven percent were anterior cruciate ligament surgery. Only one patient was a female. The age ranged from 22 year old to 41 year old with majority from 31 to 35 year old. Conclusion: Anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction surgery is the commonest sport related operation among army personnel in Hospital Angkatan Tentera Lumut. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Main protease (Mpro) of SARS-CoV-2 is a key CoV enzyme that plays a pivotal role in mediating viral replication and transcription, making it an attractive drug target for SARS-CoV-2 the new strain of coronavirus. In this study, we evaluated biologically active compounds present in medicinal plants as potential SARS-CoV-2 Mpro inhibitors, using a molecular docking study with Autodock Vina software. Top seven compounds Afzelin , Phloroglucinol , Myricetin-3-O- rutinosid Tricin 7-neohesperidoside , Silybin , Kaempferol and Silychristin among 50 molecules of natural Origin (Algerian Medicinal plants) were selected which had better and significantly low binding energy as compared to the reference molecule with binding affinities of -9.3, -9.3, -9, -8.9, -8.5, 8.3 and -8.3 kcal mol -1 respectively. Then, we analyzed the ADME properties of the best 7 ligands using the Web server SwissADME. Two of small molecules have been shown to be the ideal candidates for further drug development. Finally, the stability of the both compounds complexed with Mpro was validated through molecular dynamics (MD) simulation, they displayed stable trajectory (RMSD, RMSF) and molecular properties with consistent interaction profile in molecular dynamics simulations, moreover, Silybin could form more stable complex with Mpro than Silychristin .Communicated by Ramaswamy H. Since the first appearance of a novel coronavirus pneumonia (NCP) caused by a novel human coronavirus, and especially after the infection started its rapid spread over the world causing the COVID-19 (coronavirus disease 2019) pandemics, a very substantial part of the scientific community is engaged in the intensive research dedicated to finding of the potential therapeutics to cure this disease. As repurposing of existing drugs represents the only instant solution for those infected with the virus, we have been working on utilization of the structure-based virtual screening method to find some potential medications. In this study, we screened a library of 646 FDA approved drugs against the receptor-binding domain of the SARS-CoV-2 spike (S) protein and the main protease of this virus. Scoring functions revealed that some of the anticancer drugs (such as Pazopanib, Irinotecan, and Imatinib), antipsychotic drug (Risperidone), and antiviral drug (Raltegravir) have a potential to interact with both targets with high efficiency. Further we performed molecular dynamics simulations to understand the evolution in protein upon interaction with drug. Also, we have performed a phylogenetic analysis of 43 different coronavirus strains infecting 12 different mammalian species.Communicated by Ramaswamy H. Sarma.

Surveys of the conditions of termite attack were conducted in two regencies, Pidie and Greater Aceh, Aceh Province, Indonesia (40 houses in each location). Interviews were also conducted with home owners to collect data on the building history; culture, such as daily life in the house; the frequency and intensity of termite attacks; and traditional knowledge for avoiding and/or suppressing termite attacks. We found that 51% of traditional houses were infested by two termite species: Coptotermes gestroi and Nasutitermes matangensis . The lower parts of traditional houses were frequently attacked and severely damaged by termites. Previous land use and the ages of the traditional houses affected the intensity of the termite attacks. Several measures for avoiding and/or suppressing termite attacks on cultural heritage buildings are also proposed.
