In this research article, we investigated a coronavirus (COVID-19) epidemic model with random perturbations, which was mainly constituted of five major classes: the susceptible population, the exposed class, the infected population, the quarantine class, and the population that has recovered. We studied the problem under consideration in order to derive at least one, and only one, nonlocal solution within the positive feasible region. The Lyapunov function was used to develop the necessary result of existence for ergodic stationary distribution and the conditions for the disease's extinction. According to our findings, the influence of Brownian motion and noise effects on epidemic transmission were powerful. The infection may diminish or eradicate if the noise is excessive. To illustrate our proposed scheme, we numerically simulated all classes' findings.

This paper primarily focused on analyzing a stochastic $ \mathcal{SVIR} $ epidemic model that incorporates Levy noises. The population may be divided into four distinct compartments: vulnerable class ($ \mathcal{S} $), vaccinated individuals ($ \mathcal{V} $), infected individuals ($ \mathcal{I} $), and recovered individuals ($ \mathcal{R} $). To achieve this, we chose existing and unique techniques as the most feasible solution. In the nexus, the stochastic model was theoretically analyzed using a suitable Lyapunov function. This analysis broadly covered the existence and uniqueness of the non-negative solution, as well as the dynamic properties related to both the disease-free equilibrium and the endemic equilibrium. In order to eradicate diseases, a stochastic threshold value denoted as "$\textbf{R}_0$" was used to determine if they may be eradicated. If $ \textbf{R}_0 < 1, $ it means that the illnesses have the potential to become extinct. Moreover, we provided numerical performance results of the proposed model using the artificial neural networks technique combined with the Bayesian regularization method. We firmly believe that this study will establish a solid theoretical foundation for comprehending the spread of an epidemic, the implementation of effective control strategies, and addressing real-world issues across various academic disciplines.

Abstract Background Vitamin D is necessary to develop healthy lungs and other organs early in life. Most infants born before 28 weeks’ gestation have low vitamin D levels at birth and a limited intake during the first month. Enteral vitamin D supplementation is inexpensive and widely used. The appropriate supplementation regimen for extremely preterm infants is controversial, and the effect of different regimens on their blood levels and outcomes is unclear. Methods Randomized, blinded comparative effectiveness trial to compare two vitamin D supplementation regimens for inborn infants 90% power to detect a >95% posterior probability of a 33% increase in serum 25-hydroxy vitamin D3 and >80% power to detect a >80% posterior probability of a relative risk decrease of 20% of reducing respiratory support by intention-to-treat Bayesian analyses using a neutral prior probability. Discussion Our study will help clarify the uncertain relationship of vitamin D supplementation and its associated serum metabolites to clinical outcomes of extremely preterm infants. Confirmation of our hypotheses would prompt reconsideration of the supplementation regimens used in extremely preterm infants and justify a large multicenter study to verify the generalizability of the results. Abstract Background Klippel–Feil syndrome is a rare congenital bone disorder characterized by an abnormal fusion of two or more cervical spine vertebrae. Individuals with Klippel–Feil syndrome exhibit diverse clinical manifestations, including skeletal irregularities, visual and hearing impairments, orofacial anomalies, and anomalies in various internal organs, such as the heart, kidneys, genitourinary system, and nervous system. Case presentation This case report describes a 12-year-old Pashtun female patient who presented with acute bilateral visual loss. The patient had Klippel–Feil syndrome, with the typical clinical triad symptoms of Klippel–Feil syndrome, along with Sprengel’s deformity. She also exhibited generalized hypoalgesia, which had previously resulted in widespread burn-related injuries. Upon examination, bilateral optic disc swelling was observed, but intracranial pressure was found to be normal. Extensive investigations yielded normal results, except for hypocalcemia and low vitamin D levels, while parathyroid function remained within the normal range. Visual acuity improved following 2 months of calcium and vitamin D supplementation, suggesting that the visual loss and optic nerve swelling were attributed to hypocalcemia. Given the normal parathyroid function, it is possible that hypocalcemia resulted from low vitamin D levels, which can occur after severe burn scarring. Furthermore, the patient received a provisional diagnosis of congenital insensitivity to pain on the basis of the detailed medical history and the findings of severe and widespread loss of the ability to perceive painful stimuli, as well as impaired temperature sensation. However, due to limitations in genetic testing, confirmation of the congenital insensitivity to pain diagnosis could not be obtained. Conclusion This case highlights a rare presentation of transient binocular vision loss and pain insensitivity in a patient with Klippel–Feil syndrome, emphasizing the importance of considering unusual associations in symptom interpretation.

This study focused on the nematicidal potential of sea urchin-like zinc oxide nanometrics (SUZN) against the root-knot nematode Meloidogyne incognita. XRD, SEM, UV-vis spectroscopy, TEM, and EDX have been utilized to characterize the SUZN. Various SUZN concentrations (150–750 ppm) were examined for their implications for M. incognita second-stage juveniles (J2s) and egg masses, including mortality as well as hatching inhibition. The largest J2s hatching inhibition (83.07%) was seen at 750 ppm SUZN after 48 hours of incubation, whereas the lowest hatching occurred at 150 ppm when compared to the control. SUZN illustrated increased nematicidal efficiency with increasing concentration and incubation duration. LC50 values for J2s were calculated at various time points. In root-dip trials, all SUZN doses substantially reduced J2s penetration into eggplant roots relative to the untreated control. The study emphasizes SUZN’s strong nematicidal activity against M. incognita, suggesting its promise as a long-term alternative to chemical nematicides for root-knot nematode management while reducing the environmental concerns associated with traditional pesticides.

ABSTRACTThe most significant plant parasitic nematode in terms of economic impact is root-knot nematode (Meloidogyne incognita), which severely harms essential crops used for agriculture. This study investigated green fabrication of titanium dioxide nanoparticles (TiO2 NPs) utilizing Syzygium cumini (SC) leaf extract and evaluated its nematotoxic activity against M. incognita in vitro and in pots. During experiments, second-stage juveniles (J2s) and egg masses of M. incognita were treated with different concentrations (125, 250, 375 and 500 ppm) of SC-TiO2 NPs. After 48 h and five days of exposure, respectively, lowest J2s mortality and per cent inhibition in egg hatching was discovered at 125 ppm, and highest J2s mortality and maximum per cent inhibition in egg hatching determined at 500 ppm. The treatment of SC TiO2 NPs considerably reduced M. incognita infection and enhanced carrot plants' growth and physiological characteristics. The characterization of green synthesized SC-TiO2 NPs made by X-ray diffraction, Photoluminescence, FTIR, SEM, UV-Visible Diffuse Reflectance Spectrophotometer, TEM, and photocatalytic activity also examined. In conclusion, it can be said that SC-TiO2 NPs possess nematode-toxic potential against M. incognita and are used as substitutes for high-risk chemical nematicides without causing any phytotoxicity.

The integration of Internet of Things (IoT) and artificial intelligence (AI) technologies into modern agriculture has profound implications on data collection, management, and decision-making processes. However, ensuring the security of agricultural data has consistently posed a significant challenge. This study presents a novel evaluation metric titled Latency Aware Accuracy Index (LAAI) for the purpose of optimizing data security in the agricultural sector. The LAAI uses the combined capacities of the IoT and AI in addition to the latency aspect. The use of IoT tools for data collection and AI algorithms for analysis makes farming operation more productive. The LAAI metric is a more holistic way to determine data accuracy while considering latency limitations. This ensures that farmers and other end-users are fed trustworthy information in a timely manner. This unified measure not only makes the data more secure but gives farmers the information that helps them to make smart decisions and, thus, drives healthier farming and food security.

Cassava mosaic disease (CMD) is found in many countries around the world. This disease is caused by a mosaic virus carried by whitefly. It hurts the growth and yield of cassava, which in turn causes damage to farmers who grow cassava. In this paper, we present a model for the transmission of CMD dynamics by the ordinary differential equation system and recommend the optimal control for this model when controlling the disease by uprooting diseased cassava and spraying insecticides. For this model analysis, we are given the basic reproductive number R0, which is the threshold number for classifying the disease-free equilibrium point when R0 < 1 and the endemic equilibrium point when R0 > 1 by using the next-generation method. Disease-free equilibrium points and endemic equilibrium points have found conditions of stability. Sensitivity analysis of basic reproductive numbers reveals the impact of the parameters on disease outbreaks. Then, the model is modified to an optimal control problem with two optimal control parameters, in which the goal is to reduce cassava infections to a minimum. The necessary conditions for optimal control of disease were created by Pontryagin’s maximum principle. Numerical simulations are shown to demonstrate the effectiveness of the control system in the final section.

Abstract Objectives Intraoperative frozen-section evaluation is a valuable technique for detecting positive margins intraoperatively for oral squamous cell carcinoma. We conducted this study to determine the diagnostic accuracy of frozen section in detecting margin status and the effect of tumor grade and stage on diagnostic accuracy. Results A total of 251 biopsy-proven cases of oral squamous cell carcinoma were included in this study. The tissue specimen resected during surgery was sent to the laboratory for frozen section evaluation. The frozen section results were then compared with the permanent section results to determine the sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value, negative predictive value, and diagnostic accuracy. The mean age of the patients included in the study was 51.65 ± 10.03 years, with male predominance (55.4%). The overall sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value, negative predictive value, and diagnostic accuracy of frozen section were 88.81%, 94.84%, 95.20%, 88.10%, and 91.63%, respectively. We conclude that frozen section is a useful technique in determining the margin status intraoperatively in oral cancers, with high diagnostic accuracy. Moreover, certain clinical parameters such as age, gender, disease duration, and tumor stage and grade appear to affect the diagnostic accuracy of frozen section.

Abstract Metabolic and bariatric surgery (MBS) is widely considered the most effective option for treating obesity, a chronic, relapsing, and progressive disease. Recently, the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS) and the International Federation for the Surgery of Obesity and Metabolic Disorders (IFSO) issued new guidelines on the indications for MBS, which have superseded the previous 1991 National Institutes of Health guidelines. The aim of this study is to establish the first set of consensus guidelines for selecting procedures in Class I and II obesity, using an Expert Modified Delphi Method. In this study, 78 experienced bariatric surgeons from 32 countries participated in a two-round Modified Delphi consensus voting process. The threshold for consensus was set at an agreement or disagreement of ≥ 70.0% among the experts. The experts reached a consensus on 54 statements. The committee of experts reached a consensus that MBS is a cost-effective treatment option for Class II obesity and for patients with Class I obesity who have not achieved significant weight loss through non-surgical methods. MBS was also considered suitable for patients with Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) and a body mass index (BMI) of 30 kg/m2 or higher. The committee identified intra-gastric balloon (IGB) as a treatment option for patients with class I obesity and endoscopic sleeve gastroplasty (ESG) as an option for patients with class I and II obesity, as well as for patients with T2DM and a BMI of ≥ 30 kg/m2. Sleeve gastrectomy (1) and Roux-en-Y gastric bypass (RYGB) were also recognized as viable treatment options for these patient groups. The committee also agreed that one anastomosis gastric bypass (OAGB) is a suitable option for patients with Class II obesity and T2DM, regardless of the presence or severity of obesity-related medical problems. The recommendations for selecting procedures in Class I and II obesity, developed through an Expert Modified Delphi Consensus, suggest that the use of standard primary bariatric endoscopic (IGB, ESG) and surgical procedures (SG, RYGB, OAGB) are acceptable in these patient groups, as consensus was reached regarding these procedures. However, randomized controlled trials are still needed in Class I and II Obesity to identify the best treatment approach for these patients in the future.

In the context of this investigation, we introduce an innovative mathematical model designed to elucidate the intricate dynamics underlying the transmission of Anthroponotic Cutaneous Leishmania. This model offers a comprehensive exploration of the qualitative characteristics associated with the transmission process. Employing the next-generation method, we deduce the threshold value $ R_0 $ for this model. We rigorously explore both local and global stability conditions in the disease-free scenario, contingent upon $ R_0 $ being less than unity. Furthermore, we elucidate the global stability at the disease-free equilibrium point by leveraging the Castillo-Chavez method. In contrast, at the endemic equilibrium point, we establish conditions for local and global stability, when $ R_0 $ exceeds unity. To achieve global stability at the endemic equilibrium, we employ a geometric approach, a Lyapunov theory extension, incorporating a secondary additive compound matrix. Additionally, we conduct sensitivity analysis to assess the impact of various parameters on the threshold number. Employing center manifold theory, we delve into bifurcation analysis. Estimation of parameter values is carried out using least squares curve fitting techniques. Finally, we present a comprehensive discussion with graphical representation of key parameters in the concluding section of the paper.

Root-knot nematodes (Meloidogyne spp.) are sedentary endo-parasite that causes severe yield loss in carrot. Chemical nematicides currently used to manage Meloidogyne incognita are being phased out because of rising health and environmental issues. This study aimed to evaluate nematicidal effect of various concentrations, viz., 250, 500, 750, 1000ppm of leaf extract of Ipomoea carnea against M. incognita infecting carrot under in vitro and in pots assays. In our result, all tested concentrations displayed J2s mortality and egg hatching inhibition along with improving growth of carrot and reduced J2s population and root-knot index. Molecular docking performed predicts binding interactions of two major compounds, viz., neophytadiene and 2-amino-2-methyl-1-propanol as shown by GC-MS analysis with targeted protein, odorant response gene-1 of M. incognita, to confirm nematicidal action of I. carnea leaf extract. The obtained results also suggested that neophytadiene interacted more and strongly bound with odorant response gene-3 than 2-amino-2-methyl-1-propanol. The biochemical ligand-target protein interaction described in the present work will be helpful in the logical selection of biomolecules and essential proteins. Therefore, plant extract may be used the best alternative to chemical nematicides to control root-knot nematodes and caused longitudinal growth of the plant as well as reduce environmental risks.

Plant diseases caused by spores can cause severe damage to crop production, resulting in yield losses of up to 75%. Spores can be carried over long distances by wind, water, insects, and humans, meaning that even one infected agricultural field can spread the disease to neighboring fields. Although mathematical models exist to describe the spread of plant diseases, they often do not take into account the transport and location of spores, which limits the ability to make spatial forecasts. To address this limitation, we developed a spatial model based on Healthy sites H, Latent sites L, Infected sites I, Removed sites R, and spore sites X (HLIRX), which describes the spore movement between fields, allowing us to simulate the spatial invasion of plant diseases. We analyzed the existence and stability of steady states in the model using the finite difference method. Our findings reveal that the disease-free equilibrium is unstable, while the boundary and endemic equilibria are asymptotically stable, depending on the spore dispersion term. Moreover, we observed that the dynamics of the population in each field exhibit a consistent pattern, with leftward or rightward shifts depending on the distance from the source of infection, which cannot be captured from the temporal model. We also investigated the impact of two spatial parameters, the dispersal kernel parameter and spore migration rate, and found that both parameters lead to an increase in the number of infected plants but have no significant effect on disease severity. In addition, we discovered that the time until the infected population peaks is linearly related to the distance between each field and the source of infection, with a Pearson correlation coefficient greater than 0.99 (p < 0.001). Our developed model provides a useful tool for studying the spatial dispersion of plant diseases distributed by spores, as it considers the transport and location of spores and can be used to make spatial forecasts.

This study investigated the effects of herbicide exposure on Navicula sp. (MASCC-0035) algae, focusing on growth density, chlorophyll content, antioxidant system, and lipid metabolism. Navicula cultures were exposed to different concentrations of atrazine (ATZ), glyphosate (Gly), and acetochlor (ACT) for 96 h. Results showed a significant decrease in cell numbers, with higher herbicide concentrations having the most noticeable impacts. For instance, Gly-G2 had reduced cell populations by 21.00% at 96 h. Chlorophyll content varied, with Gly having a greater impact on chlorophyll a compared to ATZ and ACT. Herbicide exposure also affected the antioxidant system, altering levels of soluble sugar, soluble protein, and reactive oxygen species (ROS). Higher herbicide rates increased soluble sugar content (e.g., ATZ, Gly, and ACT-G2 had increased by 14.03%, 19.88%, and 19.83%, respectively, at 72 h) but decreased soluble protein content, notably in Gly-G2 by 11.40%, indicating cellular stress. Lipid metabolism analysis revealed complex responses, with changes in free proline, fatty acids, and lipase content, each herbicide exerting distinct effects. These findings highlight the multifaceted impacts of herbicide exposure on Navicula algae, emphasizing the need for further research to understand ecological implications and develop mitigation strategies for aquatic ecosystems.

Abstract In recent years, COVID-19 has evolved into many variants, posing new challenges for disease control and prevention. The Omicron variant, in particular, has been found to be highly contagious. In this study, we constructed and analyzed a mathematical model of COVID-19 transmission that incorporates vaccination and three different compartments of the infected population: asymptomatic $$(I_{a})$$ ( I a ) , symptomatic $$(I_{s})$$ ( I s ) , and Omicron $$(I_{m})$$ ( I m ) . The model is formulated in the Caputo sense, which allows for fractional derivatives that capture the memory effects of the disease dynamics. We proved the existence and uniqueness of the solution of the model, obtained the effective reproduction number, showed that the model exhibits both endemic and disease-free equilibrium points, and showed that backward bifurcation can occur. Furthermore, we documented the effects of asymptomatic infected individuals on the disease transmission. We validated the model using real data from Thailand and found that vaccination alone is insufficient to completely eradicate the disease. We also found that Thailand must monitor asymptomatic individuals through stringent testing to halt and subsequently eradicate the disease. Our study provides novel insights into the behavior and impact of the Omicron variant and suggests possible strategies to mitigate its spread.

The recent outbreak of rabies virus has affected numerous individuals in the community, highlighting the importance of studying the disease mathematically in epidemiology. In this paper, we develop a mathematical model for the spread of rabies disease using the harmonic mean incidence rate and determine the reproduction number R0 using the next generation matrix approach. The fractional dynamics of the model incorporate the interaction between infected individuals and environmental factors. We analyze the model using both Atangana-Baleanu-Caputo (ABC) and Caputo-Fabrizio (CF) techniques, drawing on both modern and classical approaches. For qualitative investigation using fractional operators, we utilize the Banach fixed-point theory and derive the Hyers-Ulam stability concept. We assign values to the model parameters and utilize the Newton interpolation technique to obtain a numerical scheme. Additionally, we perform sensitivity analysis on the model. In conclusion, our findings provide important insights for the study of epidemics.

This paper presents an analysis and numerical simulation of financial crime population dynamics using fractional order calculus and Newton's polynomial. The dynamics of financial crimes are modeled as a fractional-order system, which is then solved using numerical methods based on Newton's polynomial. The results of the simulation provide insights into the behavior of financial crime populations over time, including the stability and convergence of the systems. The study provides a new approach to understanding financial crime populations and has potential applications in developing effective strategies for combating financial crimes. Fractional derivatives are commonly applied in many interdisciplinary fields of science because of its effectiveness in understanding and analyzing complicated phenomena. In this work, a mathematical model for the population dynamics of financial crime with fractional derivatives is reformulated and analyzed. A fractional-order financial crime model using the new Atangana-Baleanu-Caputo (ABC) derivative is introduced. The reproduction number for financial crime is calculated. In addition, the relative significance of model parameters is also determined by sensitivity analysis. The existence and uniqueness of the solution in consideration of the ABC derivative are discussed. A number of conditions are established for the existence and Ulam-Hyers stability of financial crime equilibria. A numerical scheme is presented for the proposed model, starting with the Caputo-Fabrizio fractional derivative, followed by the Caputo and Atangana-Baleanu fractional derivatives. Finally, we solve the models with fractal-fractional derivatives.

The sedentary endoparasitic nematodes, Meloidogyne species, induce the formation of permanent feeding structures in the roots and alter the morpho-physiological and molecular events during parasitism. Several parasitism genes have been identified, indicating that effector proteins are important players in plant nematode interactions. During the interaction, many molecular events occur in host plants, such as pathogen-associated molecular patterns (PAMP)-triggered immunity (PTI) and effector triggered immunity (ETI) by which they suppress parasitism genes of nematodes. Plant-nematode interactions are complex and dynamic events that reflect the activation and suppression of expressed genes encoding various defence-related proteins, hormones, and enzymes. The omic studies such as metabolomics, proteomics, genomics, and transcriptomics helped us learn more about how nematodes and their hosts work together. This review highlights the metabolic response of host plants during root-knot nematode interaction. In addition, we review the role of effector protein in host parasitism and defence-related pathways and highlight the transcriptional analysis of differentially expressed genes that remain and play key roles against nematode parasitism. We also gathered information on how these knowledge gaps could be addressed and correlated their potential impact and application in the parasitism of the Meloidogyne species.

Objective: To determine the diagnostic accuracy of a CT scan for detecting ongoing internal bleeding following torso injury, keeping operative findings as the gold standard. Study Design: Cross-sectional validation study. Place and Duration of Study: Radiology Department, Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences, Islamabad Pakistan, from Jul 2021 to Oct 2021. Methodology: Contrast-enhanced CT was carried out for 100 patients with torso injury to detect the incidence of extravasated contrast material, an outcome that signifies any active haemorrhages present. The findings were then compared with the peroperative findings of the patient. Results: We detected active haemorrhages in 48 out of 100 patients on Computed Tomography. A total of 83 injury sites were recorded. Active haemorrhages were mostly visible through the spill of contrast agents in a jet stream in 61(73.4%) out of 83 injury sites. Immediate surgical intervention was performed on all the patients who were detected with active haemorrhages on CT, which confirmed the findings. In 3 patients out of 100, CT did not detect active haemorrhage, but surgical intervention showed active haemorrhage on intra-peritoneal sites. Computed Tomography had a high diagnostic accuracy for torso injuries (97.0 %) with a sensitivity of 94. 11 % and a specificity of 100 %. Conclusion: Instantaneous surgical intervention is obligatory whenever contrast extravasation is identified on Computed Tomography (CT).

Microbial bioformulation technology is a revolutionary, and eco-friendly alternative to agrochemicals that paves the way for sustainable agriculture. This technology harnesses the power of potential microbial strains and their cell-free filtrate possessing specific properties, such as phosphorus, potassium, and zinc solubilization, nitrogen fixation, siderophore production, and pathogen protection. The application of microbial bioformulations offers several remarkable advantages, including its sustainable nature, plant probiotic properties, and long-term viability, positioning it as a promising technology for the future of agriculture. To maintain the survival and viability of microbial strains, diverse carrier materials are employed to provide essential nourishment and support. Various carrier materials with their unique pros and cons are available, and choosing the most appropriate one is a key consideration, as it substantially extends the shelf life of microbial cells and maintains the overall quality of the bioinoculants. An exemplary modern bioformulation technology involves immobilizing microbial cells and utilizing cell-free filters to preserve the efficacy of bioinoculants, showcasing cutting-edge progress in this field. Moreover, the effective delivery of bioformulations in agricultural fields is another critical aspect to improve their overall efficiency. Proper and suitable application of microbial formulations is essential to boost soil fertility, preserve the soil’s microbial ecology, enhance soil nutrition, and support crop physiological and biochemical processes, leading to increased yields in a sustainable manner while reducing reliance on expensive and toxic agrochemicals. This manuscript centers on exploring microbial bioformulations and their carrier materials, providing insights into the selection criteria, the development process of bioformulations, precautions, and best practices for various agricultural lands. The potential of bioformulations in promoting plant growth and defense against pathogens and diseases, while addressing biosafety concerns, is also a focal point of this study.

This study explores the use of numerical simulations to model the spread of the Omicron variant of the SARS-CoV-2 virus using fractional-order COVID-19 models and Haar wavelet collocation methods. The fractional order COVID-19 model considers various factors that affect the virus's transmission, and the Haar wavelet collocation method offers a precise and efficient solution to the fractional derivatives used in the model. The simulation results yield crucial insights into the Omicron variant's spread, providing valuable information to public health policies and strategies designed to mitigate its impact. This study marks a significant advancement in comprehending the COVID-19 pandemic's dynamics and the emergence of its variants. The COVID-19 epidemic model is reworked utilizing fractional derivatives in the Caputo sense, and the model's existence and uniqueness are established by considering fixed point theory results. Sensitivity analysis is conducted on the model to identify the parameter with the highest sensitivity. For numerical treatment and simulations, we apply the Haar wavelet collocation method. Parameter estimation for the recorded COVID-19 cases in India from 13 July 2021 to 25 August 2021 has been presented.

We present a case of a spontaneous second intraparenchymal hemorrhage (IPH) following patient admission for a traumatic brain injury with an initial traumatic IPH. After a subsequent review of all imaging, it was concluded that the patient had a traumatic middle meningeal associated dural arterial venous fistula (MMAVF) which re-ruptured during admission, and the MMAVF was overlooked as a potential contributor to the initial traumatic IPH for which the patient was admitted. A 49-year old man presented with right temporal IPH following an ATV accident and was found to have a right MMAVF on cerebral angiography. The MMAVF appeared on angiography to be unruptured, and therefore was not immediately treated. Later in admission, the patient suffered a new spontaneous IPH ipsilateral to the MMAVF, suggesting a re-rupture. Endovascular transarterial embolization with ethyl vinyl alcohol resulted in complete obliteration of the MMAVF. The patient tolerated treatment well and went on to make a good recovery as of last post-operative imaging at 8 months. Hence, MMAVFs may be present in the setting of IPH following a traumatic brain injury which warrants maintaining a high level of suspicion and low threshold for intervention as they can cause secondary spontaneous intracranial hemorrhage. The absence of notable subdural or extradural hemorrhage on imaging should not exclude rupture. Transarterial embolization with an ethylene vinyl alcohol copolymer is an effective treatment modality.

We developed a dengue epidemic model by considering hospitalized class and harmonic mean incidence rate. A qualitative study of the proposed model was conducted. The Basic reproduction number, and local and global stability are established. The highly dominant parameters on basic reproduction number R0 have been found by sensitivity analysis. NSFD and RK-4 schemes are used for numerical solutions. Furthermore, this manuscript considers the novel fractional-order operator developed by Atangana-Baleanu for transmission dynamics of the Dengue epidemic. Assuming the importance of the non-local Atangana-Baleanu fractional-order approach, the transmission mechanism of Dengue has been investigated while taking into account different phases of infection and various transmission routes of the disease. To conduct the proposed study, first of all, we shall formulate the model by using the classical operator of ordinary derivatives. We utilize the fractional order derivative and the model will be extended to a model containing fractional order derivatives. The operator being used is the fractional differential operator and has fractional order Φ1. The approach of newton’s polynomial is considered and a new numerical scheme is developed which helped in presenting an iterative process for the proposed ABC system. Based on this scheme, sample curves are obtained for various values of Φ1 and a pattern is derived between the dynamics of the infection and the order of the derivative.

Root-knot nematodes (Meloidogyne spp.) are obligate sedentary endoparasites, considered severe crop-damaging taxa among all plant-parasitic nematodes globally. Their attacks through parasitic proteins alter the physiology and machinery of the host cells to favour parasitism and reduction in crop yield. Currently, the use of excessive pesticides as a fast remedy to manage this pest is hazardous for both the environment and humans. Keeping this view in mind, there is an urgent need for developing efficient eco-friendly strategies. Bio-control as an eco-friendly is considered the best approach to manage nematodes without disturbing non-target microbes. In bio-control, living agents such as fungi and bacteria are the natural enemies of nematodes and the best substitute for pesticides. Fungi, including nematode-trapping fungi, can sense host signals and produce special trapping devices viz., constricting rings and adhesive knobs/loops, to capture nematodes and kill them. Whereas, endo-parasitic fungi kill nematodes by enzymatic secretions and spore adhesion through their hyphae. Bacteria can also control nematodes by producing antibiotic compounds, competing for nutrients and rhizosphere, production of hydrolytic enzymes viz., chitinases, proteases, lipases, and induction of systemic resistance (ISR) in host plants. Scientists throughout the world are trying to evolve environmentally benign methods that sustain agricultural production and keep nematodes below a threshold level. Whatever methods evolve, in the future the focus should be on important aspects like green approaches for managing nematodes without disturbing human health and the environment.

This study presents an optimal control and stability analysis of a mathematical model for the spread of Hepatitis B with a harmonic mean type incidence rate, providing insights into the effectiveness of control measures and the long-term behavior of the disease dynamics. The hepatitis B virus causes hepatitis B infection. It is one of the most serious viral infections out there, as well as a global health issue. Various stages, such as chronic and acute carrier stages, serve an essential role in the transition of hepatitis B infection. Chronic disease is characterized by the presence of individuals who do not show any symptoms but are nevertheless able to spread the illness. In this study, we focused on the infectiousness of hepatitis B at different stages of illness and created an endemic model by means of a nonlinear occurrence rate. To accomplish so, we start by dividing the infectious group into two further sub-classes: i.e., acute infected and chronic carriers, both of which can transmit horizontally and vertically. The suggested model’s basic characteristics are provided. The method of the next-generation matrix is utilized to compute the basic reproduction number. The biological significance of the threshold state is thoroughly researched and addressed. We also discover the criteria for investigating all of the model’s potential equilibria in terms of the fundamental reproduction number. Finally, to supplement our analytical work, we do the numerical estimation.

Coronary artery disease (CAD) is a major cause of death worldwide. The role of CD8+ T cells in CAD is unknown. Recent studies suggest a breakdown of tolerance in atherosclerosis, resulting in active T cell receptor (TCR) engagement with self-antigens. We hypothesized that TCR engagement would leave characteristic gene expression signatures. In a single cell RNA-sequencing analysis of CD8+ T cells from 30 patients with CAD and 30 controls we found significant enrichment of TCR signaling pathways in CAD+ subjects, suggesting recent TCR engagement. We also found significant enrichment of cytotoxic and exhaustion pathways in CAD cases compared to controls. Highly significant upregulation of TCR signaling in CAD indicates that CD8 T cells reactive to atherosclerosis antigens are prominent in the blood of CAD cases compared to controls.

Leaf brown spot, caused by fungi, is a terrible plant disease, and it can significantly reduce the quality and quantity of rice. In this paper, we developed the model based on leaf brown spot disease development and considered a preventive treatment using botanical fungicide. In addition, we develop a model with suitable optimal control strategies. The result shows disease-free equilibrium is asymptotically stable when $R_0>1$. In contrast, the endemic equilibrium is asymptotically stable when $R_0 > 1$. The obtained optimal control to can reduce the number of infected plants compared to that without control. In addition, the analytical results were confirmed by numerical simulations of the occurrence of the theoretical results.

Cassava mosaic disease (CMD) is caused by a virus transmitted by the whitefly. This disease can destroy cassava at any stage of its growth and it resulted in lower cassava yields. In this paper, we developed a mathematical model for the epidemic of cassava mosaic disease with a deterministic model which has saturation incidence rates. This model aims to explain the effect of vectors on cassava disease outbreaks. First, this model was analyzed using standard dynamic methods to determine the behavior of the solution. We found the existence and condition of disease-free and endemic steady state. The basic reproductive number ($ R_0 $) is obtained by using the next-generation method which $ R_0 $ helps assess the ability to spread infectious diseases. Second, the stability of the steady state was analyzed, then we obtain the condition of existence of local stability and global stability at each steady state of this model. Third, analysis of the sensitivity indices in the threshold number to determine the effect of the various parameters. Finally, the results of the theoretical model were validated by numerical simulations. It is represented by various graphs converging at a steady state and stable.

This paper aims to extend the spore dispersal model to the Healthy-Latent-Infectious-Removed (HLIR) epidemic model for assessing the severity of rice blast disease. The model was solved by the Finite Difference Method (FDM). The results of the model were compared to data from the Prachinburi Rice Research Center (PRRC) on the severity of rice blast disease. Because of a small error, the comparison results showed good agreement between the PRRC data and the simulation by looking at the value of Willmott's index of agreement (d). The first bed d was 0.7166, while the second bed d was 0.6421, indicating the model's performance. Furthermore, the optimal parameter, the fraction of spores deposited on the crop, was determined to be 0.173 and 0.016 for beds 1 and 2, respectively. The model can simulate and analyze rice blast outbreaks for educational purposes in future preparedness planning.

Root-knot nematodes pose a severe threat to worldwide agricultural development. Due to the high toxicity of chemical nematicides, eco-friendly control strategies against root-knot nematodes need to be established. A pot and in vitro experiment were performed to estimate nematicidal potential of Pochonia chlamydosporia. P. chlamydosporia was used alone or in combination with two botanicals for controlling Meloidogyne incognita in chickpea. The laboratory assessment was performed with four prepared concentrations (S, S/2, S/10, S/25) of fungal inoculum of P. chlamydosporia against egg hatching and second-stage juvenile's mortality of M. incognita. All four concentrations reduced egg hatching and increased mortality of J2s. In pot experiment, P. chlamydosporia was used with chopped leaves of two botanicals viz., Ageratum conyzoides and Eichhornia crassipes against M. incognita in chickpea. All the treatments found significantly suppressed root infestation caused by M. incognita and improved growth and physiological attributes of chickpea. The combined application of P. chlamydosporia + A. conyzoides was found highly effective, and E. crassipes alone was least. Therefore, using P. chlamydosporia with botanicals is a promising sustainable strategy in agriculture against M. incognita infected chickpea.

This study was planned to investigate the efficacy of various concentrations of Trichoderma virens against Meloidogyne incognita in vitro. The five concentrations viz., S, S/2, S/ 10, S/25, S/50 were prepared and planned for in vitro study to test the potential of T. virens against hatching and mortality of second-staged juveniles of M. incognita. It was observed a reduction in second-staged juveniles hatching within all tested aqueous concentrations of T. virens. The second-stage juvenile mortality was also recorded in the above-given concentrations of T. virens. The maximum decrease in second-stage juveniles hatching was found in standard aqueous fungal concentration (S). Moreover, in the same T. virens concentration (S), mortality of juveniles was also recorded as highest, and was followed by S/2, S/10, S/25 and S/50. Additionally, the application of T. virens as an individual, simultaneous, and sequential order with M. incognita was also investigated in pot-grown chickpea plants and found that its use was significantly effective in suppressing root-galling disease and improved the plants' growth and physiological attributes. According to the correlation coefficient analysis, the root-knot index correlated significantly with the per cent reduction of the plants' growth and physiological attributes.

Objective: To assess the accuracy of portal vein pulsatility (VPI) for non-invasive diagnosis of high-risk non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). Study Design: Cross-sectional study. Place and Duration of Study: Pakistan Institute of Medical Science, Islamabad Pakistan, from Jan to May 2022. Methodology: Duplex Doppler ultrasound was used to examine the main portal vein in patients with a biopsy-proven Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) diagnosis. Patients were evaluated by Doppler ultrasonography after fasting for four hours in accordance with standard methodology. The maximum (Vmax) and minimum (Vmin) blood velocities in the portal veins were measured using the spectral waveform. Results: Out of 240 NAFLD patients, 102(42.50%) were males, and 138(57.50 %) were females. According to the Non-alcoholic Steatohepatitis clinical research network (NASH CRN) scoring system, 95(39.58%) patients had F0 disease, 80(33.33%) had F1, 30(12.5%) patients F2, 24(10%) patients had F3 and 11(4.58%) had F4. 50(53.76%) patients in the low-risk group and 43(46.24%) patients in the high-risk group had diabetes. Of 102 males, 73(71.56%) had low risk, and 29(28.44%) had high risk. While out of 138 females, 79(57.24%) females had low risk, and 59(42.76%) females had a high risk of NAFLD. Objective: To assess the role played by ultrasound in evaluating plantar fasciitis and associate the findings with Magnetic resonance imaging. Study Design: Case series. Place and Duration of Study: Department of Radiology, Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences, Islamabad Pakistan, from Nov 2020 to Apr 2021. Methodology: All the patients underwent ultrasonography and magnetic resonance imaging scanning. The study and control Groups consisted of 38 patients. Results: Out of 38 patients, plantar fascia thickness in symptomatic feet was measured with ultrasound for both the Study and Control Groups. The Control Group had slightly thinner plantar fasciitis (1.1-2.4 mm, 1.7 ± 0.06 mm; p =0.03) compared to the Study Group (2.9-6.9 mm; 4.9±1.4 mm). In addition, this study compared other plantar fasciitis diagnostic signs on sonography with the magnetic resonance imaging findings. The diagnostic accuracy of plantar fascia pathological focal echogenicity, plantar fascia oedema, perifascial oedema, and plantar fascia rupture was 15(80.6%), 12(60.7%), 15(77.1%), and 13(68.6%) respectively. The diagnostic accuracy of ultrasonography was lower while evaluating for calcaneal spurs. Conclusion: The present study concluded that ultrasonography could be the basic initial diagnostic imaging modality to confirm clinically suspected cases of plantar fasciitis. However, magnetic resonance imaging could be the preferred diagnostic modality for suspected complex pathology and lack of clinical presentation.

Objective: To estimate the diagnostic accuracy of Elastography to distinguish between benign and malignant lymph nodes of the head and neck region; taking histopathology as the gold standard. Study Design: Cross-sectional study. Place and Duration of Study: Radiology Department, Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences, Islamabad Pakistan, from Jul to Oct 2021. Methodology: Elastography, Color Doppler and B-mode ultrasound were used to examine fifty participants with enlarged cervical lymph nodes. Elastographic forms (1–5) were characterized based on the hard area in the cervical lymph nodes. In addition, the shear wave elastography of cervical lymph nodes was evaluated. Outcomes of diagnostic sono-elastographic parameters were matched with the histopathology of lymph nodes as a reference of standard. Results: The mean age of patients was 30.50±8.95 years. Out of 50 patients, 31(62%) were men, and 19(38%) were women. Out of 50 patients enrolled, 29(58%) showed benign lymph nodes, while 21(42%) showed malignant lymph nodes on elastography.All 50 patients underwent a biopsy for histopathology. Conclusion: Ultrasound elastography has high diagnostic accuracy in differentiating benign from malignant lymph nodes. Therefore, it can be used as a reliable and non-invasive modality for diagnosing lymphadenopathy in the cervical region. Abstract The sol-gel technique was used to fabricate ZnO Nano-swirlings (ZNsw) at a predetermined agitation rate (of >> 1900 rpm), with around 21.94 gm of zinc acetate dihydrate and 0.2 g cetyltrimethylammoniumbromide (CTAB) and a cationic surfactant (drop-wise). The impact of the predetermined agitation condition on the molecular size and morphology of ZNsw is examined, and the outcomes are dissected by useful characterization tools and techniques viz. XRD, SEM embedded with EDS, TEM, FT-IR and UV–visible. The SEM and TEM results suggest that the product formed into a big cluster of adequate ZNsw, containing a significant quantity of folded long thread-lengths. Each group indicated a fair amount of the volume of these lengths. The photocatalytic process of ZNsw was carried out as a result of the irradiation time due to the deterioration of Azo Dye AR183, resulting in approximately 79 percent dye discoloration following an 80-min UV light irradiation in the presence of ZNsw. Additionally, the synthesized ZNsw was tested for antagonistic activity, and the growth hindrance of two plant pathogenic fungal strains found. Per cent inhibition in growth of Rhizoctonia solani and Alternaria alternata were observed in response to ZNsw.

In this research, we reformulate and analyze a co-infection model consisting of Chagas and HIV epidemics. The basic reproduction number $ R_0 $ of the proposed model is established along with the feasible region and disease-free equilibrium point $ E^0 $. We prove that $ E^0 $ is locally asymptotically stable when $ R_0 $ is less than one. Then, the model is fractionalized by using some important fractional derivatives in the Caputo sense. The analysis of the existence and uniqueness of the solution along with Ulam-Hyers stability is established. Finally, we solve the proposed epidemic model by using a novel numerical scheme, which is generated by Newton polynomials. The given model is numerically solved by considering some other fractional derivatives like Caputo, Caputo-Fabrizio and fractal-fractional with power law, exponential decay and Mittag-Leffler kernels.

This investigation explains the green synthesis, characterization and biocontrol potential of copper oxide nanoparticles (CuONPs) against second-stage juveniles (J2s) of root-knot nematode, Meloidogyne incognita infesting chickpea. Mono-disperse, spherical, pure CuONPs were synthesized from Jatropha curcas leaf with particle sizes ranging from 5 to 15 nm in diameter. Antagonistic activities of synthesized CuONPs were studied against Meloidogyne incognita. The highest mortality of J2s was found in the 200 ppm concentration of CuONPs at 24 h of exposure. The exact concentration also showed maximum inhibition of J2s hatching from egg masses after six days of exposure. It was worth noting that 25 ppm concentration was the least effective. The pot experiment showed that CuONPs significantly reduced the root infection caused by M. incognita and enhanced chickpea plants’ growth and physiological attributes (Chlorophyll and carotenoid content). The results depicted when the concentration of CuONPs was increased, J2s mortality rate was also increased. We highlighted the antinematode influence of green synthesized CuONPs. Thus, it will offer an excellent eco-friendly strategy to optimize yield under pathogens attack and provide prospects of green synthesized-based nanoparticles development for pests control. Plants mediated CuONPs will also help in resolving the current toxicity concerns and future challenges in the agriculture.

In this study, the COVID-19 epidemic model is established by incorporating quarantine and isolation compartments with Mittag-Leffler kernel. The existence and uniqueness of the solutions for the proposed fractional model are obtained. The basic reproduction number, equilibrium points, and stability analysis of the COVID-19 model are derived. Sensitivity analysis is carried out to elaborate the influential parameters upon basic reproduction number. It is obtained that the disease transmission parameter is the most dominant parameter upon basic reproduction number. A convergent iterative scheme is taken into account to simulate the dynamical behavior of the system. We estimate the values of variables with the help of the least square curve fitting tool for the COVID-19 cases in Pakistan from 04 March to May 10, 2020, by using MATLAB.

The poor agriculture practices, fragmented land holdings, fluctuating climatic conditions, and minimal external inputs lead to nutrient deficiency in the Himalayan agroecosystems. Because of the risks associated with chemical fertilizers, their implication is a big question mark. Therefore, two previously characterized plant growth-promoting rhizobacteria Pseudomonas jesenii MP1 and Pseudomonas palleroniana N26 were employed to enhance kidney bean productivity and soil health at farmer’s fields of Harsil and Chakrata regions of Uttarakhand Himalayas. The study revealed that MP1 and N26 treatment resulted in 25.62% and 37.23% higher grain yield than respective uninoculated controls at the trial fields of Harsil and Chakrata regions, respectively. Further, the bacterial treatments have significantly increased nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium levels in the soils. The soil diversity analysis revealed the dominance of Proteobacteria and Actinobacteria at Harsil and Chakrata, respectively. Further, the MP1 treatment had increased Firmicutes percentage over uninoculated control at both locations. Conclusively, the application of cold adaptive Pseudomonas jesenii MP1 and Pseudomonas palleroniana N26 improved the grain yield and soil health status of the Himalayan agroecosystems. Therefore, they can be explored as an eco-friendly alternative for the commercial production of kidney beans.

Objective: To compare the diagnostic accuracy of Computed Tomography and Ultrasonography in differentiating trans-dative and exudative pleural effusion. Study Design: Cross-sectional study. Place and Duration of Study: Radiology Department of Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences, Islamabad Pakistan, from Jul to Oct 2021. Methodology: Patients suffering (n=80) from pleural effusion were involved, and all were assessed with ultrasound and computed Tomography along with diagnostic thoracocentesis. In addition, we investigated pleural thickening, pleural nodules, and loculations along with the USG signs and Computed Tomography attenuation values to detect transudate and exudate in individuals suffering from pleural effusion. Results: Participants had a mean age of 36.20±6.67 years, ranging from 25 to 49 years. Out of 80 patients, 50(62.5 %) were males, and 30(37.5%) were females. Of the eighty patients with pleural effusion, 29 were transudative 36(25%), and 51 were exudative 63(75%). Overall, USG showed better results for loculations, while CT showed better results for pleural thickeningand nodules. Conclusion: Attenuation values of Computed Tomography play an essential role in differentiating the type of pleural effusion. In addition, ultrasound is a supporting non-invasive imaging modality that helps define the characteristics of pleural effusion.

Objective: To evaluate the renal resistive index (RI) and serum creatinine correlation in patients with diabetic nephropathy. Study Design: Cross-sectional study Place and Duration of Study: Department of Radiology, Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences, Islamabad Pakistan, from Nov 2020 to Apr 2021. Methodology: This study was conducted on 80 patients. Doppler renal artery sonography was carried out, and for all the individuals with controlled blood pressure, gender, age, urinary protein, serum creatinine and HBA1c were recorded. Results: In our study, 42(52%) patients were females, whereas the remaining 38(48%) were males. The mean age was observed to be 49.15±11.91 years. A significant positive correlation (r=0.53) was found between Resistive Index and Serum Creatinine.The correlation co-efficient values between Resistive Index and Serum Creatinine in female and male patients were r=0.58 and r=0.47, respectively. Conclusion: The present study concluded that RI had no significant statistical correlation with albuminuria, proteinuria and HbA1c levels. However, a statistical correlation between RI and creatinine level was reported.

For over three Earth years the Marsquake Service has been analyzing the data sent back from the Seismic Experiment for Interior Structure—the seismometer placed on the surface of Mars by NASA’s InSight lander. Although by October 2021, the Mars seismic catalog included 951 events, until recently all these events have been assessed as lying within a radius of 100° of InSight. Here we report two distant events that occurred within days of each other, located on the far side of Mars, giving us our first glimpse into Mars’ core shadow zone. The first event, recorded on 25 August 2021 (InSight sol 976), shows clear polarized arrivals that we interpret to be PP and SS phases at low frequencies and locates to Valles Marineris, 146° ± 7° from InSight. The second event, occurring on 18 September 2021 (sol 1000), has significantly more broadband energy with emergent PP and SS arrivals, and a weak phase arriving before PP that we interpret as Pdiff. Considering uncertain pick times and poorly constrained travel times for Pdiff, we estimate this event is at a distance between 107° and 147° from InSight. With magnitudes of MwMa 4.2 and 4.1, respectively, these are the largest seismic events recorded so far on Mars.

We investigated the leptospirosis epidemic model by using Caputo and Fabrizio fractional derivatives. Picard's successive iterative method and Sumudu transform are taken into consideration for developing the iterative solutions for the leptospirosis disease. Employing nonlinear functional analysis, the stability and uniqueness of the proposed model are established. Sensitivity analysis is taken into account to highlight the most sensitive parameters corresponding to the basic reproductive number. Various solutions to the proposed system have been interpolated by graphs with the application of Matlab software.

We evaluated the therapeutic potentials of Khudari fruit pulp, a functional food and cultivar of Phoenix dactylifera, against neurological disorders. Our results demonstrate a good amount of phytochemicals (total phenolic content: 17.77 ± 8.21 µg GA/mg extract) with a high antioxidant potential of aqueous extract (DPPH assay IC50 = 235.84 ± 11.65 µg/mL) and FRAP value: 331.81 ± 4.56 µmol. Furthermore, the aqueous extract showed the marked inhibition of cell-free acetylcholinesterase (electric eel) with an IC50 value of 48.25 ± 2.04 µg/mL, and an enzyme inhibition kinetics study revealed that it exhibits mixed inhibition. Thereafter, we listed the 18 best-matched phytochemical compounds present in aqueous extract through LC/MS analysis. The computational study revealed that five out of eighteen predicted compounds can cross the BBB and exert considerable aqueous solubility. where 2-{5-[(1E)-3-methylbuta-1,3-dien-1-yl]-1H-indol-3-yl}ethanol (MDIE) indicates an acceptable LD50. value. A molecular docking study exhibited that the compounds occupied the key residues of acetylcholinesterase with ΔG range between −6.91 and −9.49 kcal/mol, where MDIE has ∆G: −8.67 kcal/mol, which was better than that of tacrine, ∆G: −8.25 kcal/mol. Molecular dynamics analyses of 100 ns supported the stability of the protein–ligand complexes analyzed through RMSD, RMSF, Rg, and SASA parameters. TRP_84 and GLY_442 are the most critical hydrophobic contacts for the complex, although GLU_199 is important for H-bonds. Prime/MM-GBSA showed that the protein–ligand complex formed a stable confirmation. These findings suggest that the aqueous extract of Khudari fruit pulp has significant antioxidant and acetylcholinesterase inhibition potentials, and its compound, MDIE, forms stably with confirmation with the target protein, though this fruit of Khudari dates can be a better functional food for the treatment of Alzheimer’s disease. Further investigations are needed to fully understand the therapeutic role of this plant-based compound via in vivo study.

Malaria is one of the major causes of health and disability globally, even after tremendous efforts to eradicate it. Till date no highly effective vaccine is available for its control. The primary reason for the low efficacy of vaccines is extensive polymorphism in potential vaccine candidate antigen genes and HLA polymorphisms in the human population. This problem can be resolved by developing a vaccine using promiscuous peptides to combine the number of HLA alleles. This study predicted T and B cell epitopes (promiscuous peptides) by targeting PPPK-DHPS and DHFR-TS proteins of Plasmodium vivax, using different in silico tools. Selected peptides were characterized as promiscuous peptides on the basis of their immunogenicity, antigenicity and hydrophobicity. Furthermore, to confirm their immunogenicity, these peptides were utilized for molecular modelling and docking analysis. For determining the requisite affinity with distinct HLA Class-I, and HLA Class-II alleles, only five peptides for DHFR-TS and 3 peptides for PPPK-DHPS were chosen as promiscuous peptides. The D1 peptide has the maximum binding energy with HLA alleles, according to HLA-peptide complex modelling and binding interaction analyses. These findings could lead to the development of epitope-based vaccinations with improved safety and efficacy. These epitopes could be major vaccine targets in P. vivax as they possess a higher number of promiscuous peptides. Also, the B cell epitopes possess maximum affinity towards different alleles as analyzed by docking scores. However, further investigation is warranted in vitro and in vivo.

Abstract Self‐healable elastomeric materials (PUAxPU10–x‐PDMS, x = 4, 6, or 8) have been synthesized and utilized as substrates or encapsulation films on the top of barrier films (deposited on polyethylene terephthalate (PET) substrates) to improve their gas barrier properties for packaging applications. Hexa‐layer (HL) assembly consisting of two inorganic 2D nanoplatelets, including Mg‐Al layered double hydroxide (LDH) and hexagonal boron nitride (hBN), and two oppositely charged polyelectrolytes, that is, polyethyleneimine (PEI) and poly(sodium styrene‐4‐sulfonate) (PSS), have been developed by alternative depositions of HL (i.e., PSS/LDH/PSS/PEI/hBN/PEI) sequentially. Then, a layer‐by‐layer technique is applied to produce multiple assemblies of hexa‐layer (HL)n and reduce water vapor transmission rate (WVTR) values of elastomeric PUA8PU2‐PDMS and PET substrates. The optimum WVTR values of 7.1 × 10−3 and 8.0 × 10−3 g m−2 day−1 are achieved using barrier PET/(HL)8/PUA8PU2‐PDMS (125/3/1 µm) and PUA8PU2‐PDMS/(HL)8 (125/3 µm) films, respectively. The self‐healable barrier PUA8PU2‐PDMS and PUA8PU2‐PDMS/(HL)8 films recover their initial WVTR values after self‐healing of mechanically damaged films. Organic light‐emitting diodes (OLEDs) encapsulated with PET/(HL)8/PUA8PU2‐PDMS and PUA8PU2‐PDMS/(HL)8 have 9–10 times longer half‐lifetime values than bare OLEDs. Accordingly, this report develops transparent, stretchable, and self‐healable gas barrier films for next‐generation flexible electronic device packaging applications.

ABSTRACTMeloidogyne javanica, a destructive soil-borne parasite that may infect practically all cultivated plants worldwide. Utilizing efficient bio-safe management techniques, crop damage caused by nematodes that feed on plants is reduced. Therefore, the aim of this study is to biosynthesize extracellular silica nanoparticles (SiO2-NPs) through bioleaching of sand by Fusarium oxysporum and characterizes SiO2-NPs and evaluates their nematicidal potential against M. javanica in vitro. During in vitro experiments, second stage juveniles (J2s) and egg masses of M. javanica were treated with various concentrations (50, 100, 150, 200 and 250 ppm of SiO2-NPs). All concentrations applied caused J2s mortality and inhibited egg hatching to a varying degree. The SiO2-NPs applied at same concentrations in addition predict preventing J2s from penetrating tomato roots. The characterizations of synthesized SiO2-NPs were done by XRD, FTIR, SEM-EDX, TEM-SAED, and UV Visible NIR Spectrometer. XRD technique analyzed amorphous phase of SiO2-NPs exhibiting a broad peak. The FTIR spectrum identified a range of efficient functional groups, capping and stability agents. TEM images of SiO2-NPs showed porous texture and had an average size of 22.5 nm. To our knowledge, this is first account of synthetic SiO2-NPs acting as natural nematicides through bioleaching of sand by F. oxysporum.

The presence of Meloidogyne spp., also known as root-knot nematodes, presents a significant danger to global agricultural progress. Since chemical nematicides have high levels of toxicity, it is imperative to develop environmentally friendly methods to manage root-knot nematodes. Nanotechnology is now the most progressive way to attract researchers due to its innovative quality in combating plant diseases. Our study focused on the sol-gel process to synthesize grass-shaped zinc oxide nanoparticles (G-ZnO NPs) and assess its nematicidal behavior against Meloidogyne incognita. Various concentrations (250, 500, 750, and 1000 ppm) of G-ZnO NPs were utilized to expose both the infectious stage (J2s) and egg masses of M. incognita. Laboratory results revealed that G-ZnO NPs showed toxicity to J2s with LC50 values of 1352.96, 969.64, and 621.53 ppm at 12, 24, and 36 hours, respectively, and the result was the inhibition of egg hatching in M. incognita. All three exposure periods were reported linked with the concentration strength of G-ZnO NPs. The pot experiment results exhibited that G-ZnO NPs significantly reduced the root-gall infection of chickpea plants under M. incognita attack. Compared with the untreated control, there was a significant improvement in plant growth attributes and physiological parameters as well, when distinct G-ZnO NP doses (250, 500, 750, and 1000 ppm) were applied. In the pot study, we noticed a reduction in the root-gall index with an increase in the concentration of G-ZnO NPs. The results confirmed that G-ZnO NPs have enormous potential in sustainable agriculture for controlling the root-knot nematode, M. incognita, in chickpea production.

Kidney bean (Phaseolus vulgaris) productivity and nutritional quality are declining due to less nutrient accessibility, poor soil health, and indigent agronomic practices in hilly regions, which collectively led to a fall in farmer’s income, and to malnutrition in consumers. Addressing such issues, the present investigation was designed to assess the impact of Pseudomonas jesenii MP1 and Pseudomonas palleroniana N26 treatment on soil health, microbial shift, yield, and nutrient status of the kidney bean in the Harsil and Chakrata locations of Indian Central Himalaya. P. jesenii MP1 and P. palleroniana N26 were characterized as cold adaptive PGPR as they possessed remarkable in vitro plant growth promoting traits. Further, field trial study with PGPR treatments demonstrated remarkable and prolific influence of both strains on yield, kidney bean nutrient status, and soil health at both geographical locations, which was indicated with improved grain yield (11.61%–23.78%), protein (6.13%–24.46%), and zinc content (21.86%–61.17%) over control. The metagenomic study revealed that use of bioinoculants also concentrated the nutrient mobilizing and plant beneficial microorganisms in the rhizosphere of the kidney bean. Moreover, correlation analysis also confirmed that the plant growth-promoting traits of P. jesenii MP1 and P. palleroniana N26 are the basis for improved yield and nutrient status of the kidney bean. Further, cluster and principal component analysis revealed that both P. jesenii MP1 and P. palleroniana N26 exhibited pronounced influence on yield attributes of the kidney bean at both the locations. At the Harsil location, the P. jesenii MP1-treated seed demonstrated highest grain yield over other treatments, whereas at Chakarata, P. jesenii MP1, and P. palleroniana N26 treatment showed almost equal enhancement (~23%) in grain yield over control. The above results revealed that these bioinoculants are efficient plant growth promoters and nutrient mobilizers; they could be used as green technology to improve human health and farmer’s income by enhancing soil health, yield, and nutrient status of the kidney bean at hilly regions.

Abstract Fractional calculus characterizes a function at those points, where classical calculus failed. In the current study, we explored the fractional behavior of the stagnation point flow of hybrid nano liquid consisting of TiO2 and Ag nanoparticles across a stretching sheet. Silver Ag and Titanium dioxide TiO2 nanocomposites are one of the most significant and fascinating nanocomposites perform an important role in nanobiotechnology, especially in nanomedicine and for cancer cell therapy since these metal nanoparticles are thought to improve photocatalytic operation. The fluid movement over a stretching layer is subjected to electric and magnetic fields. The problem has been formulated in the form of the system of PDEs, which are reduced to the system of fractional-order ODEs by implementing the fractional similarity framework. The obtained fractional order differential equations are further solved via fractional code FDE-12 based on Caputo derivative. It has been perceived that the drifting velocity generated by the electric field E significantly improves the velocity and heat transition rate of blood. The fractional model is more generalized and applicable than the classical one.
