In this paper, a novel microstrip-fed filter-antenna (filtenna) exhibiting dual-wideband response is introduced. In this direction, a dual-wideband bandpass filter is designed first and then it is integrated into the feed line of a wideband monopole microstrip antenna. The dual-wideband bandpass filter is constructed by stub loaded multi-mode resonators. Two types of stub-loaded multi-mode resonators are coupled to the feeding lines from the filter's input and output ports. The proposed topology allows controlling both bandwidths independently. The designed filtenna was fabricated for the experimental verification. Measurements of the fabricated filtenna show a good agreement with the simulated results. Center frequencies of the proposed filtenna are 3.23 and 5.65 GHz with the fractional bandwidths (FBWs) of 46 % and 21.6 %.

Although there are many studies on the electrically coupled Izhikevich neuron model in the literature, the study of the chemically coupled structure is limited. The synchronization of bidirectional chemically coupled Izhikevich neurons with the Lyapunov control method is discussed for the first time in this study. Standard deviation results are given to observe the effect of the coupling weight of the coupled neurons. With the Lyapunov controller applied to one of the coupled neurons, the control of whether the neurons are synchronized regardless of the coupling weight was also observed by means of standard deviation analysis. Finally, it has been shown that the system with the Lyapunov control method is fired synchronously regardless of the changes in the value of the synaptic coupling weight., Literatürde, elektriksel kuplajlı Izhikevich nöron modeline ait birçok çalışma olmasına rağmen kimyasal kuplajlı yapıya ait inceleme sınırlı sayıdadır. Çift yönlü kimyasal olarak kuplajlanan iki adet Izhikevich nöronunun Lyapunov kontrol yöntemiyle senkronizasyonu ilk defa bu çalışmada ele alınmıştır. Kuplajlanan nöronların kuplajlama ağırlığının etkisini gözlemlemek için standart sapma sonuçları verilmiştir. Kuplajlanan nöronlardan birine uygulanan Lyapunov kontrolörü ile, nöronların kuplajlama ağırlığından bağımsız şekilde senkron hale gelip gelmediğinin kontrolü yine standart sapma analizi vasıtası ile gözlemlenmiştir. Son olarak, Lyapunov kontrol yöntemi uygulanan sistemin, sinaptik kuplajlama ağırlık değerinin değişikliklerinden bağımsız bir şekilde senkron olarak ateşlendiği gösterilmiştir.

In this study, an electromagnetic inverse scattering problem to reveal the geometric and dielectric properties of three-dimensional (3D) objects buried underground by measuring from above is discussed. The solution of the problem is achieved by using the distorted born iterative method (DBIM). The interface separating the air and soil media is illuminated from above with an electromagnetic wave source and electric field measurements are conducted across a region above. While plane waves are used as an electromagnetic wave source, which are sent consecutively with different arrival angles, measurements are taken at more than one point along a plane. The geometric and electrical properties of objects in a volumetric region of interest are revealed by determining the complex dielectric constant of this region. Various numerical results are presented to show the success of the presented method in detecting three-dimensional objects with arbitrary geometry buried into earth. The results show that the distorted born iterative method is very successful in determining both geometric and dielectric properties of objects with low and medium contrast. While the location and geometric properties of high contrast objects are successfully found, the relative dielectric constants and conductivities are found to be lower than their real values., Bu çalışmada, yer altında gömülü üç boyutlu (3B) cisimlerin geometrik ve elektriksel özelliklerinin yer üstünden yapılan ölçümlerle belirlenmesine yönelik bir elektromanyetik ters saçılma problemi ele alınmıştır. Problemin çözümü bozulmuş born iteratif yöntemi (Distorted Born Iterative Method - DBIM) kullanılarak yapılmıştır. Hava ve toprak ortamlarını birbirinden ayıran ara yüzey yukarıdan bir elektromanyetik dalga kaynağı ile aydınlatılmış ve yine yukarıdaki bir bölge boyunca elektrik alan ölçümleri yapılmıştır. Elektromanyetik dalga kaynağı olarak peş peşe farklı geliş açılarıyla gönderilen düzlem dalgalar kullanılırken ölçümler bir düzlem boyunca birden fazla noktada alınmıştır. İlgilenilen hacimsel bir bölgede bulunan cisimlerin geometrik ve elektriksel özellikleri, bu bölgenin kompleks dielektrik sabitinin belirlenmesi sonucu ortaya çıkartılmaktadır. Sunulan yöntemin, yer altındaki rastgele geometrili üç boyutlu nesnelerin tespitindeki başarısını göstermek için çeşitli sayısal sonuçlar sunulmuştur. Elde edilen sonuçlar, bozulmuş born iteratif yönteminin düşük ve orta düzeyde kontrasta sahip cisimlerin hem geometrik hem de dielektrik özelliklerinin belirlenmesinde oldukça başarılı olduğunu ortaya koymaktadır. Yüksek kontrastlı cisimlerin ise yeri ve geometrik özellikleri başarıyla bulunurken bağıl dielektrik sabiti ve iletkenlikleri gerçek değerlerinden daha düşük seviyelerde bulunmuştur.

Bu tez çalışmasında, iki tür elektromagnetik saçılma probleminin çözümü için yeni veetkin bir yöntem geliştirilmiştir. İlk olarak, düzlemsel dalga ile aydınlatılan kayıplıiki dielektrik yarı uzay arasındaki engebeli arayüzeye ilişkin saçılma problemlerininçözümü için bir yöntem verilmiştir. Bizim yaklaşımımızda, düzgün olmayan yüzeyinengebeleri, düzlemsel arayüzeye sahip iki parçalı uzaya gömülü cisimler olarak kabuledilmekte ve bu da problemi, rastgele kesitlere sahip silindirik cisimlere ilişkinsaçılma problemi gibi düzenlemeye olanak vermektedir. İki parçalı uzayın Greenfonksiyonu aracılığıyla problem ikinci tip bir Fredholm integral denklemininçözümüne indirgenmiş olup bu denklem MoM kullanılarak çözülmüştür. Engebeliyüzeye, gömülü cisimler gibi yaklaşmak, engebeli yüzey altına gömülü cisimlereilişkin saçılma problemlerinin çözümüne de olanak sağlamaktadır. Bu amaçla,düzlemsel dalga ile aydınlatılan, bir boyutlu, lokal bir aralıkta engebelere sahip olanbir yüzey altına gömülü silindirik cisimler gözönüne alınmıştır. Engebeli arayüzeyesahip iki parçalı uzayın Green fonksiyonu yardımıyla, cisimlerden saçılan alanproblemi, ikinci tip bir Fredholm integral denklemine dönüştürülmüştür. Diğertaraftan, arayüzeyi engebeli iki parçalı uzayın Green fonksiyonunun belirlenmesi ayrıve zor bir problem oluşturmaktadır. Bu problemin çözümü, yukarıda bahsedilengömülü cisim yaklaşımıyla, çizgisel kaynakla aydındınlatılan engebeli arayüzeydensaçılma problemi çözülerek yapılır. In this thesis, a novel and effective method is presented for the solution of two classesof electromagnetic scattering problems. It is first given a method for the solution ofscattering problems related to rough interface between two lossy dielectric halfspacesin the case of plane wave illumination. In our approach we consider theirregularities of the rough surface as buried objects in a two half-spaces media withplanar interface which allows us to formulate the problem as scattering problemrelated to cylindrical bodies of arbitrary cross sections. Through the Green's functionof the two half-spaces medium, the problem is reduced to the solution of a Fredholmintegral equation of second kind which is solved here by an application of MoM. Theburied object approach to a rough surface allows us also to solve the scatteringproblems related to the bodies buried under a rough surface. To this aim it isconsidered cylindrical bodies buried under a one dimensional locally rough surfaceand illuminated by a time harmonic plane wave. Through the Green's function of thebackground medium with rough interface the problem is reduced to the solution of aFredholm integral equation of the second kind for the scattered field. On the otherhand the determination of the Green's function constitutes a separate and difficultproblem in the case of two half-spaces medium with rough interface. This can be doneby just solving the scattering problem from rough interface in the case of line sourceillumination through the buried object approach described above. WOS: 000359251200032, In this work, a numerical method is developed to solve a forward-scattering problem of three-dimensional (3-D) objects buried into two half-space media with two-dimensional (2-D) locally rough interface. The proposed method exploits the electric field integral equation (EFIE) formulation of the scattered field which involves the dyadic Green's function of the background medium. Since the required Green's function has no analytical expression (in general), buried object approach (BOA) is applied to calculate it numerically. Method of moments (MoM) is then used to solve the EFIE. The presented method is numerically validated by comparing it with finite difference time-domain (FDTD) method. WOS: 000259231600012, A new approach for the scattering of electromagnetic (EM) waves from periodic dielectric rough surfaces is addressed. The method is an extension of the buried object approach (BOA), which is developed for rough surfaces of infinite extend, to the present problem. The BOA allows to model the original problem as the scattering of EM waves from cylindrical objects located in a two-half-space medium with planar interface. Then, the problem is reduced to the solution of a Fredholm integral equation of second kind through the periodic Green's function of two-half-space medium. The periodic Green's function of two-half-space medium is calculated via the Floquet mode expansion, whose numerical evaluation can be accelerated by using effective methods. The method can also be used to solve the scattering problems of rough surfaces of infinite extend and having a localized roughness. Bu tezde, FitzHugh Nagumo (FHN) Hindmarsh Rose (HR) ve Izhikevich nöron modelleri kullanılarak nöral topluluklar oluşturulmuştur. Bu nöron modelleri sırasıyla elektriksel ve kimyasal bağlantı türleri kullanılarak çift yönlü bağlantı ile birbirine bağlanmıştır. İlk olarak, elektriksel ve kimyasal bağlantı türleri için ayrı ayrı herhangi bir kontrol yöntemi kullanılmadan, sinaptik ağırlık değişiminin senkron ateşleme üzerindeki etkileri ele alınmıştır. Kuplajlanan nöronlar arasındaki senkronizasyon durumları, standart sapma sonuçları kullanılarak gözlemlenmiştir. Bu çalışmada, Lyapunov, geri adımlamalı ve geri beslemeli senkronizasyon kontrol yöntemleri hem elektriksel hem de kimyasal olarak eşleştirilmiş nöronlara uyarlanmıştır. Son olarak FHN ve Izhikevich nöron modelleri ayrı ayrı alan programlanabilir kapı dizisi (FPGA) cihazı ile gerçeklenmiştir., In this thesis, neural ensembles were constructed using the FitzHugh Nagumo (FHN), Hindmarsh Rose (HR) and Izhikevich neuron models. These neuron models are interconnected by a bidirectional using electrical and chemical link types, respectively. First, the effects of synaptic junction weight variation on synchronous firing are discussed without using any control method separately for electrical and chemical junction types. The synchronization states between the coupled neurons were observed using the standard deviation results. In this study, Lyapunov, backstepping, and feedback synchronization control methods are applied to both electrically and chemically coupled neurons. Then, the amplitude and phase differences between the membrane potentials of the coupled neurons for the activities of the controller structures were calculated using an alternative error function. Finally, FHN and Izhikevich neuron models were implemented separately with field programmable gate array (FPGA) device.

Bu tez çalışmasında doğrudan metanol yakıt pilinin (DMYP) çalışabilmesi için gerekli parametreler belirlenmiş, elektronik kontrol kartı tasarlanmış ve gerçekleştirilmiştir. Gerçekleştirilen kontrol kartında merkezi işlem birimi olarak PIC 16F877A mikrodenetleyicisi kullanılmış ve Assembly dili ile kontrol programı yazılmıştır. Yakıt pili sisteminden 3 Volt 30 Watt çıkış verebilen 10 hücreli doğrudan metanol yakıt pili hücre grubu kullanılmış, DC/DC çevirici ile çıkış gerilimi 12 Volta yükseltilmiştir. Gerçekleştirilen doğrudan metanol yakıt pilinin verimini etkileyen parametreler farklı durumlar için incelenmiştir. Yapılan deneyler ile doğrudan metanol yakıt pilinin (DMYP) yüksek verimle çalışması için parametre değerlerinin ne olması gerektiği ayrı ayrı belirlenmiştir., In this thesis, the desired parameters for working of Direct Methanol Fuel Cell (DMFC) were determined and also electronic control card of the DMFC was designed. In order to control DMFC, PIC 16F877A microprocessor was used as a central process unit and desired program was written by using Assembly programming language. The fuel cell which has 10 direct methanol cell and 3 Volt 30 Watt output was used and then the output voltage was increased to 12 Volt by using DC to DC converter. The efficiency parameters for designed DMFC were investigated for different cases. Thus, the best working parameter values for DMFC‟s high efficiency operation were determined one by one.
