To evaluate the accuracy of the diagnosis of peri-implant bone defects? severities in digital panoramic radiographs obtained at different tube voltage and/or tube current settings. Two different sizes of peri-implant bone defects (type 1 and type 2) were prepared after the implants were inserted into 29 bovine rib blocks. Digital panoramic radiographs were obtained at eight different tube voltage and/or tube current settings for all rib blocks. Implant images were cropped separately. The average intensity value (AIV) of cropped images were analyzed using Adobe Photoshop CC software. The Kruskal-Wallis H test was used to compare AIVs. All cropped images were evaluated using a five-point Likert scale for the likelihood of a bone defect being absent or present. The weighted kappa values were calculated to compare observer agreement and ROC analysis was performed to determine the appropriate exposure parameters. The lowest AIV was obtained at 72 kV/6.3 mA (92.162±16.016), and the highest AIV was obtained at 60 kV/3.2 mA (179.050±13.823). In this study, the measures representing the departure from MH model is introduced for square contingency tables and standard errors of these measures is calculated. These measures lies between (-1,1) and represent the departure degree from MH model. Three real data sets are used as the illustrative examples. While the measures of departure are calculated for each category, the categories causing the departure from the MH model can be obtained and interpreted.

Ayrıca, bu sistemlerde SO2 giderme verimini artırmak amacıyla kullanılan çeşitli katkı maddelerinin etkileri her bir kireçtaşı için incelenmiştir. Kireçtaşı çözeltilerinin toplam sülfatasyon kapasiteleri kireçtaşının kimyasal bileşimine bağlı olarak 14.00-18.80 mg SO3-2/ml aralığında değişmiştir. Kireçtaşı çözeltilerine ilave edilen magnezyum ve sodyum bileşiklerinin çözeltinin sülfatasyon kapasitesine olan etkileri farklı olmuştur., In this study, the sulphation capacity of 5 limestone originating from different parts of Turkey was determined in a wet desulphurization system. Also, the effect of different additives that have been used to improve SO2 removal efficiency in these systems was investigated for each limestone. Bu araştırmada, parametrik olmayan regresyon yöntemlerinden, çok değişkenli uyarlanabilir regresyon eğrileri (Multivariate Adaptive Regression Splines – MARS) modellemesi kullanılmıştır. MARS modeli kullanılarak, makine öğrenmesine dayalı bir web uygulaması geliştirilmiştir. Geliştirilen uygulama ile ortaokul 8. sınıf öğrencilerinin LGS (Liselere Geçiş Sistemi) sınavı öncesi başarı puanlarını doğru tahmin etmek amaçlanmıştır. Çalışma Kastamonu ilinin Tosya ilçesinin Mehmet Akif Ersoy Ortaokulu 8. Sınıf öğrencileriyle yürütülmüştür. LGS sınavı öncesinde öğrencilerin demografik bilgileriyle beraber son sınıfta girdikleri tüm deneme sınavı sonuçları kullanılmıştır. LGS sınav sonucunu doğru tahmin eden, maksimum etkileşimde olan modeller denenip, en uygun model belirlenmiştir. Bu modelde belirleme katsayısı R^2 maksimum ve genelleştirilmiş çapraz geçerlilik katsayısı GCV minimum olarak tahmin edilmiştir. Buna göre en uygun modelin; temel fonksiyon sayısı 6, etkileşim derecesi 1, R^2 değeri 0.954 ve GCV değeri 423.003 olarak bulunmuştur. Modelde anlamlı bulunan değişkenler ise kardeş sayısı, anne eğitim düzeyi, 1.73'ten fazla inkılap tarihi ve Atatürkçülük dersi net sayısı, 1.466'dan fazla İngilizce dersi net sayısı, 5.939'dan fazla matematik dersi net sayısı ile 5.936'dan düşük matematik dersi net sayısı olarak tespit edilmiştir. Matematik dersinin büküm noktası 5.936 olarak tespit edilmiştir. Eğer öğrencinin matematik dersindeki ortalama net sayısı 5.936'dan küçükse; parametre tahmin katsayısı -11.965 olarak tespit edilmiştir. Burada tespit edilen durum şudur, matematik dersinin ortalama net sayısı 5.936'dan küçük olması öğrencinin başarısını olumsuz etkilemektedir. Bununla beraber, matematik dersinin ortalama net sayısı, 5.936'dan büyük olduğu zaman parametre tahmin katsayısı 4.060 olmaktadır. Matematik dersindeki ortalama net sayısı 5.946'yı geçtiği zaman, öğrencinin başarısı olumlu etkilenmektedir. Bu veriler doğrultusunda öğrencilerin LGS puanlarını tahmin etmek için web tabanlı, makine öğrenmesine dayalı bir uygulama geliştirilmiştir. Uygulamanın geliştirilmesinde R Shiny programından yararlanılmıştır. Program bulut tabanlı olup, işletim sisteminden ve web tarayıcılarından bağımsız çalışmaktadır. Geliştirilen uygulama, LGS sınavına hazırlanan öğrencilere çalışmalarını yönlendirmek üzere sınav öncesi tavsiyeler sunmaya yardımcı olmaktadır Multivariate adaptive regression splines (MARS) modeling, one of the non-parametric regression methods, was used in this study. A web application based on machine learning was developed using the MARS model. It is aimed to accurately predict the achievement scores of the 8th-grade students before the LGS (High School Entrance System) exam With the developed application. The study was carried out with 8th-grade students of Mehmet Akif Ersoy Secondary School in the Tosya district of Kastamonu province. The demographic information of the students and all the test results they took in the last year were used before the LGS exam. Models that predict the LGS exam result correctly and have maximum interaction were tried and the most suitable model was determined. The coefficient of determination was estimated as the maximum and the generalized cross-validation coefficient as the minimum in this model provided. Accordingly, the most appropriate model; it has been determined that 1 product degree with 6 basis functions is provided with a value was 0.954, the value was 423.003. The significant variables are the number of siblings, mother's education level, net count of revolution history and Ataturkism lessons more than 1.73, net count of English lessons more than 1.466, net count of the mathematics lesson more than 5.939, and net count of a mathematic lesson under 5.936. The knot point of the mathematic lesson was determined as 5,936. If the average net count of a mathematic lesson is less than 5,936; the parameter estimation coefficient was determined as -11,965. The situation determined here is that the average net number of the mathematics lesson is less than 5.936, which negatively affects the success of the student. However, when the average net count of a mathematic lesson is greater than 5.936, the parameter estimation coefficient becomes 4.060. When the average net count of a mathematics lesson exceeds 5,946, the success of the student is positively affected. A web-based machine learning-based application has been developed to predict students' LGS scores in line with these data. R Shiny program was used in the development of the study. The program is cloud-based and works independently of the operating system and web browsers. The developed web program can be accessed at https://beststat.shinyapps.io/lgspuan/. The developed application helps students prepare for the LGS exam to offer pre-exam advice to guide their studies.
