The Keith Lange collection consists of sixteen digital scans of color and black and white prints loaned to the Special Collections Dept. for scanning in November 2003. The images document his career as a skier, ski instructor, ski jumper, and member of professional ski organizations. Mr. Lange has been involved in professional associations such as the Intermountain Ski Instructors Association, and the Professional Ski Instructors Association, both of which he served as president. He has coached ski racers and served as a consultant for ski films, and, as a member of the US Army's 10th Mountain Division, trained troops on mountain survival techniques. He was a member of the President's Council on Physical Fitness and was honored by President Gerald Ford. The majority of the images are slides of skiing activities and various resorts. The slides in folders 1-3 are from a three ring binder labeled "Slide Show." The slides have been kept in the same order they were in from the binder. The slide show consists of information, powder shots, and resort layouts. The rest of the slides were found loose and placed in slide sheets. These are mostly of miscellaneous skiing activities at the various resorts. For the most part they are not identified except for photographer. Many classic photographs of ski meets at Ecker Hill in the mid-1940s. Also a number of lithographs and photographs of the early mining days at Alta.

The images in the Steve Clegg collection were loaned to the Special Collections Dept. for digital scanning by Barbara Amidon in November 2003, and were returned to the donor after scanning. The photographs depict famous ski pioneers such as Alf and Sverre Engen, and Junior Bounous. Steve Clegg was the son of Dr. Reed Clegg, who was the team doctor for the University of Utah football team. Alton Crane Melville (1904-1966) served as president of the NSA and was an avid skier and participant in many ski organizations. The photograph collection reflects Melville's love of skiing, teaching, and membership in various organizations. The images in this collection were taken from the Alton Crane Melville scrapbooks belonging to the Manuscripts Division. The Darrell Mills Barnes photograph collection contains images of Kenneth Barnes, father of Darrell Mills Barnes. Folder one consists of three images of the 1915 and 1916 East High school Football teams. The first image of the East High Football team was torn and missing corners and was digitally repaired in October 2001.
