The rapid adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) has created a pressing need for efficient charging infrastructure. but challenges such as inconsistent demand and poor placement remain. An effective distribution of sufficient EV charging stations (CSs) is one of the major obstacles preventing the market penetration of EVs and the realization of a sustainable transportation system in urban areas. In this paper, a new machine learning technique is proposed in order to optimize the placement of EV charging stations (EVCSs) in metropolitan areas based on an energy consumption prediction model. A dataset from 148,136 charging transactions in Boulder, Colorado, is used with the proposed model. Key algorithms such as KNeighborsRegressor and RandomForestRegressor were incorporated to solve the placement problem. The analysis revealed significant demand fluctuations during peak commute hours, with the KNeighborsRegressor model demonstrating superior prediction accuracy. These insights can guide more effective infrastructure planning and resource allocation, ultimately enhancing the efficiency and user experience of EV charging networks and promoting sustainable urban transportation. In the rapidly evolving landscape of the Internet of Things (IoT), cybersecurity remains a critical challenge due to the diverse and complex nature of network traffic and the increasing sophistication of cyber threats. This study investigates the application of the Artificial Bee Colony (ABC) algorithm for hyperparameter optimization (HPO) in machine learning classifiers, specifically focusing on Decision Trees, Support Vector Machines (SVM), and K-Nearest Neighbors (KNN) for IoT network traffic analysis and malware detection. Initially, the basic machine learning models demonstrated accuracies ranging from 69.68% to 99.07%, reflecting their limitations in fully adapting to the varied IoT environments. Through the employment of the ABC algorithm for HPO, significant improvements were achieved, with optimized classifiers reaching up to 100% accuracy, precision, recall, and F1-scores in both training and testing stages. These results highlight the profound impact of HPO in refining model decision boundaries, reducing overfitting, and enhancing generalization capabilities, thereby contributing to the development of more robust and adaptive security frameworks for IoT environments. This study further demonstrates the ABC algorithm's generalizability across different IoT networks and threats, positioning it as a valuable tool for advancing cybersecurity in increasingly complex IoT ecosystems. Recent developments and the widespread use of IoT-enabled technologies has led to the Research and Development (R&D) efforts in green communication. Traditional dynamic-source routing is one of the well-known protocols that was suggested to solve the information dissemination problem in an IoT environment. However, this protocol suffers from a high level of energy consumption in sensor-enabled device-to-device and device-to-base station communications. As a result, new information dissemination protocols should be developed to overcome the challenge of dynamic-source routing, and other similar protocols regarding green communication. In this context, a new energy-efficient routing protocol (EFRP) is proposed using the hybrid adopted heuristic techniques. In the densely deployed sensor-enabled IoT environment, an optimal information dissemination path for device-to-device and device-to-base station communication was identified using a hybrid genetic algorithm (GA) and the antlion optimization (ALO) algorithms. An objective function is formulated focusing on energy consumption-centric cost minimization. The evaluation results demonstrate that the proposed protocol outperforms the Greedy approach and the DSR protocol in terms of a range of green communication metrics. It was noticed that the number of alive sensor nodes in the experimental network increased by more than 26% compared to the other approaches and lessened energy consumption by about 33%. This leads to a prolonged IoT network lifetime, increased by about 25%. The rapid expansion of the Internet of Things (IoT) and the advancement of 5G technology require strong cybersecurity measures within IoT frameworks. Traditional security methods are insufficient due to the wide variety and large number of IoT devices and their limited computational capabilities. With 5G enabling faster data transmission, security risks have increased, making effective protective measures essential. Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) attacks present a significant threat to IoT security. In response, we have developed a new approach using Artificial Neural Networks (ANNs) to identify and prevent XSS breaches in IoT systems over 5G networks. We significantly improved our model's predictive performance by using filter and wrapper feature selection methods. We validated our approach using two datasets, NF-ToN-IoT-v2 and Edge-IIoTset, ensuring its strength and adaptability across different IoT environments. For the NF-ToN-IoT-v2 dataset with filter feature selection, our Bilayered Neural Network (2 × 10) achieved the highest accuracy of 99.84%. For the Edge-IIoTset dataset with filtered feature selection, the Trilayered Neural Network (3 × 10) achieved the best accuracy of 99.79%. We used ANOVA tests to address the sensitivity of neural network performance to initial conditions, confirming statistically significant improvements in detection accuracy. The ANOVA results validated the enhancements across different feature selection methods, demonstrating the consistency and reliability of our approach. Due to its flexibility, accessibility and the increasing importance of digital literacy, online learning has gained priority in the last few years. However, several challenges have led students to resist it. Predicting students’ attitudes towards online learning could assist educators and educational institutions in addressing these challenges and enhancing its effectiveness. This paper presents a Learning Attitude Prediction Model (LAPM) that can detect students’ attitudes from their informal Arabic texts. To generate the desired LAPM, five machine learning algorithms and three different approaches for text representation are employed. In addition, handling stop words is another important issue when dealing with informal Arabic text. Two scenarios are commonly adopted: preserving and eliminating stop words. The best result was obtained when using a support vector machine (SVM) classifier coupled with the term frequency-inverse document frequency (TF-IDF) approach and preserving stop-words, achieving an F1-score of 85.4%. Therefore, an effective LAPM could be developed to predict students’ attitudes. Using LAPM, educators and educational institutions can monitor students’ attitudes toward online learning and provide personalized support to individual students. Sleep disorder is a disease that can be categorized as both an emotional and physical problem. It imposes several difficulties and problems, such as distress during the day, sleep-wake disorders, anxiety, and several other problems. Hence, the main objective of this research was to utilize the strong capabilities of machine learning in the prediction of sleep disorders. In specific, this research aimed to meet three main objectives. These objectives were to identify the best regression model, the best classification model, and the best learning strategy that highly suited sleep disorder datasets. Considering two related datasets and several evaluation metrics that were related to the tasks of regression and classification, the results revealed the superiority of the MultilayerPerceptron, SMOreg, and KStar regression models compared with the other twenty three regression models. Furthermore, IBK, RandomForest, and RandomizableFilteredClassifier showed superior performance compared with other classification models that belonged to several learning strategies. Finally, the Function learning strategy showed the best predictive performance among the six considered strategies in both datasets and with respect to the most evaluation metrics. The development of e-systems has given consumers and businesses access to a plethora of information, which has complicated the process of decision making. Document classification is one of the main decisions that any business adopts in their decision making to categorize documents into groups according to their structure. In this paper, we combined multi-agent systems (MASs), which is one of the IDSS systems, with Bayesian-based classification to filter out the specialization, collaboration, and privacy of distributed business sources to produce an efficient distributed classification system. Bayesian classification made use of MAS to eliminate distributed sources' specialization and privacy. Therefore, incorporating the probabilities of various sources is a practical and swift solution to such a problem, where this method works the same when all the data are merged into a single source. Each intelligent agent can collaborate and ask for help from other intelligent agents in classifying cases that are difficult to classify locally. The results demonstrate that our proposed technique is more accurate than those of the non-communicated classification, where the results proved the ability of the utilized productive distributed classification system. A successful cloud trading system requires suitable financial incentives for all parties involved. Cloud providers in the cloud market provide computing services to clients in order to perform their tasks and earn extra money. Unfortunately, the applications in the cloud are prone to failure for several reasons. Cloud service providers are responsible for managing the availability of scheduled computing tasks in order to provide high-level quality of service for their customers. However, the cloud market is extremely heterogeneous and distributed, making resource management a challenging problem. Protecting tasks against failure is a challenging and non-trivial mission due to the dynamic, heterogeneous, and largely distributed structure of the cloud environment. The existing works in the literature focus on task failure prediction and neglect the remedial (post) actions. To address these challenges, this paper suggests a fault-tolerant resource management scheme for the cloud computing market in which the optimal amount of computing resources is extracted at each system epoch to replace failed machines.
