The combined heat and mass transfer phenomenon is a significant aspect of engineering and industrial processes. This phenomenon finds applications in various areas such as air conditioning, cooling and heating control of electronic devices, reactors, chemical systems, and emission processes. This research model focuses on the analysis of mixed convection flow of a viscous fluid with heat and mass transfer on an inclined surface with porous medium characteristics. The study also considers external heat transfer effects, radiation, Soret influence, and chemical reactions. A perturbation solution is derived in closed form, and the impact of various parameters on the thermal behavior is investigated. A comparative analysis of the heating and cooling regimes in plate flow is conducted, revealing a reduction in velocity in the heated plate regime with changes in the permeability parameter and an increase in concentration phase due to the Soret number.

The aim of this study is to investigate the heat and mass transfer characteristics of Burgers nanofluid in the presence of thermo-diffusion effects. The analysis considers higher-order slip effects to study the transport phenomena. Additionally, the study examines the impact of thermal radiation and chemical reactions on the flow. Variable thermal conductivity assumptions are made for heat transfer analysis. The Cattaneo–Christov model, an extension of Fourier heat and mass theories, is employed for the analysis. Heat transfer evaluation is conducted using convective thermal constraints, and numerical computations are carried out using the Runge–Kutta method. The study visually represents the impact of flow parameters through graphical analysis. It is suggested that heat transfer can be significantly improved through the interaction of slip effects, and the concentration phenomenon is enhanced by the Soret number.

The thermo-diffusion applications of nanofluid subject to variable thermal sources have been presented. The significance of Darcy–Forchheimer effects is attributed. The flow comprises the mixed convection and viscous dissipation effects. Furthermore, the variable influence of viscosity, thermal conductivity, and mass diffusivity is treated to analyze the flow. The analysis of problem is referred to convective mass and thermal constraints. The analytical simulations are proceeded with homotopy analysis method. The convergence region is highlighted. Novel physical contribution of parameters is visualized and treated graphically. It is noted that larger Brinkman number leads to improvement in heat transfer. The concentration pattern boosted due to Soret number. The wall shear force enhances with Hartmann number and variable thermal conductivity coefficient.

The present study reviews the relevant research done on the fluid–structure interaction (FSI) in channels and vessels. The cases of FSI in channels with elastic plates, channels with variable geometry, flow airfoils, blood vessels, and heart valves are presented, using data from credible research articles. The review is carried out with a focus on the performance of the FSI method in solving engineering problems in channels, reporting its findings such as the effect of power-law exponent, the Nusselt number in different parts of a fluid, lift, and drag for a rigid cylinder and a plate in Newtonian fluids, the formation of eddy current, and the distribution of velocity and pressure in a fluid and on walls. Pin fins have the potential to improve the thermal performance of various engineering devices. Modified pin fins could further increase their thermal performance in a passive way at lower cost. This study is aimed at numerically investigating the thermal performance of trenched hemispherical pin fins heat sink (THPFHS) and the influence of parameters including the trench number (N = 1, 3 and 5) and thickness (e = 1 to 5 mm). The simulations were performed using a computational fluid dynamics (CFD) software considering turbulent air flow conditions. Results showed that the use of aluminum fins fitted with one trench in the middle of the hemispherical pin fin considerably increased the local heat transfer. Furthermore, all studied configurations show high thermal performance factor (HTPF) compared with the conventional cylindrical pin fins heat sink (CPFHS). For this new configuration (THPFHS), Nu increases by 45% while the thermal resistance reduces by 42%, compared to the baseline case. On the other hand, this improved performance results in 50% pressure drop penalty. Moreover, the obtained results showed a significant improvement in the performance mainly at high Re. This work deals with a numerical investigation of a hydrodynamic–elastic problem within the framework of a double enclosure solar collector technological configuration. The solar collector presents two enclosures separated by an elastic absorber wall. The upper enclosure is filled with air, whereas the lower one is filled with Fe3O4/water nanofluid. The mathematical model governing the thermal and flow behaviors of the considered nanofluid is elaborated. The effects of imposed hot temperatures, the Rayleigh number and air pressure on the nanofluid's temperature contours, velocity magnitude distribution, temperature evolution, velocity magnitude evolution and Nusselt number evolutions are numerically investigated. The numerical results show and assess how the increase in the Rayleigh number affects convective heat transfer at the expense of the conductive one, as well as how much the Nusselt number and the nanofluid velocity magnitude and temperature are affected in a function of the imposed hot temperature type (uniformly or right-triangular distributed on the elastic absorber wall). Moreover, the results evaluate how increases in the air pressure applied on the elastic absorber wall affects the nanofluid's temperature distribution. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

A MagnetoHydroDynamic (MHD) problem is numerically investigated in the framework of this research work. An Fe3O4-Water nanofluid is filled within a specific pseudosquare enclosure with a semicircular heat source at the left-hand wall of the enclosure (hot temperature) as well as a sinusoidal imposed temperature (based on cold and hot temperature evolutions) at the right-hand wall. The remaining walls are supposed adiabatic. The mathematical model of the MHD problem (continuity, momentum, and energy conservation equations) is elaborated under specified assumptions related to the real physical problem. The dimensionless form of the MHD problem is constructed. The coupled effects of Rayleigh number, Hartmann number and heat source radius on thermal (in terms of isothermal contours) and flow (in terms of streamlines and velocity magnitudes contours) behaviors of the nanofluid are numerically investigated. In addition, the effect of Rayleigh number on the evolutions of nanofluid velocity magnitude and temperature is investigated among the vertical direction X=0.2. This research work deals with a technological application of a 2D numerical solar Magneto-Hydro-Dynamic (MHD) investigation of an Fe3O4-Water nanofluid, filled in an obroundshaped enclosure. The cold temperature is imposed on a symmetric arc wall located at the semicircular side of the enclosure, while the hot temperature is related to a circular rotating heat source located in the middle of the enclosure. The remaining walls of the enclosure are supposed to be insulated. The cold wall is considered chilled using a solar refrigeration system. The heat source is considered as a blackbody receiving solar radiation. The mathematical problem, stating the governing equations of the considered MHD problem (continuity equation, Navier Stokes equations and energy conservation equation), is elaborated in its dimension and dimensionless form. The dimensionless form permits to generalize dimensionally the considered problem. The considered problem Numerical results, stating the influences of geometrical, magnetic and Fe3O4-Water nanofluid operating parameters on the flow (streamlines and velocity magnitudes) and thermal behaviors of the Fe3O4-Water nanofluid (temperature contours) are presented, discussed and interpreted. The geometrical parameters are the wall arc angle, the heat source velocity, and the radius. The magnetic parameters are the Hartmann number and the magnetic field inclination angle.
