So far, no documented method for simultaneously analyzing lesinurad (LND) and febuxostat (FBX) has been reported for either traditional high-performance thin-layer chromatography (HPTLC) or a green HPTLC technique. In order to determine LND and FBX simultaneously in commercially available fixed-dose combo tablets, this study devised a normal-phase HPTLC method that is fast, sensitive, and green. The green eluents for the simultaneous analysis of LND and FBX were a mixture of ethyl acetate:ethanol:water at 70:20:10 (v/v/v) ratio. The new approach’s greenness was predicted utilizing four distinct greenness tools: the National Environmental Method Index, Analytical Eco-Scale, ChlorTox, and Analytical GREENness approaches, and the results revealed a significantly greener profile. The current method operated on a linear scale between 30 and 1,000 ng·band−1. It was confirmed that the current approach is sensitive, accurate, precise, robust, and green. The LND and FBX contents of commercially available tablet products A and B were found to be within the range of 100 ± 2%, indicating that the existing methodology for simultaneously determining LND and FBX in pharmaceutical combination products is applicable. The results of the current methodology indicated that LND and FBX could be consistently measured in pharmaceutical combination products simultaneously using the current approach.

A fast, sensitive, and green reverse-phase “high-performance thin-layer chromatography” approach for the simultaneous estimation of ibuprofen (IBF), caffeine (CAF), and paracetamol (PCM) in marketed formulations was established and verified in this study. The binary combination of acetone and water (80:20 v/v) was used as the green eluent system. The current method’s greenness was predicted using four different approaches, namely National Environmental Method Index, Analytical Eco-Score (89), ChlorTox (1.08 g), and the Analytical GREENness (83) approaches, which demonstrated an outstanding greener profile. The present approach was linear in the range of 25–800 ng·band−1 for the simultaneous estimation of IBF, CAF, and PCM. In addition, the current method was accurate (% recoveries = 100 ± 2), precise (%CV < 2%), robust (%CV < 2), sensitive (LOD = 1.13–2.71 ng·band−1 and LOQ = 3.39–8.10 ng·band−1), and green. The amount of IBF, CAF, and PCM in commercial tablets was determined to be 99.51%, 98.25%, and 100.64%, respectively. The present method for the simultaneous determination of IBF, CAF, and PCM in marketed tablets is supported by these data. The findings of this study suggested that the current approach may be consistently applied to analyze IBF, CAF, and PCM in marketed tablets.

Background/objectives: Understanding the factors that influence physiotherapy (PT) service use among patients with nonspecific lower back pain (LBP) is necessary to optimize treatment strategies, healthcare resource allocation, and the planning of value-based initiatives. We report factors that influence the number of PT visits per episode of care (defined as a referral from a physician) for an LBP population in Saudi Arabia, and compare them with patients experiencing their first and recurrent episodes of LBP. Methods: LBP patients were retrospectively enrolled from a clinical dataset derived from an outpatient PT clinic in Saudi Arabia. The primary outcome variable was the number of PT visits performed per episode of care. Multiple linear regression analysis was performed to examine the relationships between the numbers of PT visits per episode of care and independent variables. Results: The number of PT sessions per week (β 0.34, p < 0.001), compliance with PT sessions (β 0.31, p < 0.001), and pre-pain scores (β 0.29, p < 0.001) explained 41.8% (adjusted R2 0.32) of the variance in the total number of PT visits per episode of care (p < 0.001). Conclusions: Factors that might improve value-based care for LBP patients are reported. The more PT sessions per week, compliance with these sessions, and higher baseline pain scores predict a higher number of PT visits per episode of care among these patients. While reported for a Saudi Arabian population, there is no reason to believe that these findings do not apply internationally. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

As the world's demand for sustainable and reliable energy source intensifies, the need for efficient energy storage systems has become increasingly critical to ensuring a reliable energy supply, especially given the intermittent nature of renewable sources. There exist several energy storage methods, and this paper reviews and addresses their growing requirements. In this paper, the energy storage options are subdivided according to their primary discipline, including electrical, mechanical, thermal, and chemical. Different possible options for energy storage under each discipline have been assessed and analyzed, and based on these options, a handsome discussion has been made analyzing these technologies in the hybrid mode for efficient and reliable operation, their advantages, and their limitations. Moreover, combinations of each storage element, hybrid energy storage systems (HESSs), are systems that combine the characteristics of different storage elements for fulfilling the gap between energy supply and demand. HESSs for different storage systems such as pumped hydro storage (PHS), battery bank (BB), compressed air energy storage (CAES), flywheel energy storage system (FESS), supercapacitor, superconducting magnetic coil, and hydrogen storage are reviewed to view the possibilities for hybrid storage that may help to make more stable energy systems in the future. This review of combinations of different storage elements is made based on the previous literature. Moreover, it is assessed that sodium-sulfur batteries, lithium-ion batteries, and advanced batteries are the most helpful element in HESSs, as they can be hybridized with different storage elements to fulfill electricity needs. The results also show that HESSs outperformed other storage systems and, hence, hybridizing the characteristics of different storage elements can be employed for optimizing the performance of energy storage systems. A dual-band, dual-pattern antenna is presented for 1.437 GHz L-band and 2.45 GHz Industrial Scientific and Medical (ISM) band applications. The antenna is based on multilayer circular patches with symmetric slots and two asymmetric cylindrical vias that shorten the multiple layers with the ground plane using Plated Through-Holes (PTHs) to generate the required resonant modes. The first mode is operated at 1.437 GHz, providing an omnidirectional radiation pattern, while the second mode is operated at 2.45 GHz, providing a directional or broadside radiation pattern. The antenna was fabricated to validate the simulation results and excellent agreement was found between the simulation and experimental results. The antenna has a total size of only 6x6x0.443 cm³, which corresponds to an electrical size of 0.5λ0x0.5λ0x0.03λ0 at 2.45 GHz and 0.28λ0x0.28λ0x0.02λ0 at 1.437GHz, thanks to the loading effect of shorting vias. The gain of the antenna is 1.62 dBi at 1.437 GHz and 6.48 dBi at 2.45 GHz, along with quite good radiation efficiencies of 83.4% and 96%, respectively. For body-centric applications, the performance of the antenna was also examined in close proximity to the human body. Nearly stable performance was found in close proximity to the human body, comparable to free space performance in terms of both impedance matching and radiation patterns. The 10g Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) of the antenna was also measured and found to be below the international compliance limits. These characteristics make the antenna a very promising choice for body-centric communications. The antenna also applies to other wireless systems such as MIMO, wireless ad hoc networks, etc. It offers radiation pattern diversity in a single planar package with a highly flexible and adaptable design by providing much more degrees of freedom than classical microstrip antennas. In this study, the application of continuous wavelet transform as a signal processing technique for the spectrofluorimetric determination of rosuvastatin and losartan is investigated. Both rosuvastatin and losartan exhibited native spectrofluorometric signals with severe overlapping peaks, making their simultaneous determination challenging. To address this issue, rbio 2.4 wavelet transformation was employed to obtain zero‐crossing points in the synchronous fluorescence spectra of losartan and rosuvastatin at 346 and 408 nm, respectively, making their quantification possible. The developed method was validated according to the ICH guidelines and displayed high accuracy, precision, and specificity. The method exhibited excellent linearity over concentration ranges 0.2–2.0 and 0.25–2.0 μg/mL for losartan and rosuvastatin, respectively. In addition, LOD and LOQ were 0.046 and 0.140 μg/mL for losartan and 0.036 and 0.110 μg/mL for rosuvastatin, respectively, indicating the high sensitivity of the developed method. Moreover, greenness and blueness assessments were carried, revealing a high AGREE score of 0.71 and BAGI score of 77.5 for the developed method, making it a promising greener alternative for the reported chromatographic methods. Finally, the developed method was applied to the determination of rosuvastatin and losartan in pharmaceutical formulations, posing it as a powerful greener alternative in quality control laboratories.
