ABSTRACT Introduction Traumatic memories (TM) are a core feature of stress‐related disorders, including posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Treatment is often difficult, and specific pharmacological interventions are lacking. We present a novel non‐pharmacological intervention called motor interference therapy (MIT) as a promising alternative for these symptoms. Aims To determine the feasibility of MIT, a brief, audio‐delivered, and non‐pharmacological intervention that uses cognitive and motor tasks to treat TM. Methods We designed a randomized, double‐blind trial. Twenty‐eight participants from an outpatient clinic with at least one TM were included to receive either MIT or progressive muscle relaxation (PMR). Spanish versions of the PTSD symptom severity scale (EGS), visual analog scale for TM (TM–VAS), and quality of life (EQ–VAS) were applied prior to intervention, 1 week, and 1 month following intervention. Results Mean scores on all measures improved from baseline to posttest for both groups. MIT participants showed significantly more positive scores at 1 week and 1 month (TM–VAS baseline: 9.8 ± 0.4; immediate: 6.0 ± 2.0; 1 week: 3.8 ± 3.1 [d = 1.57]; 1 month 2.9 ± 2.8 [d = 1.93]) than PMR participants on measures of distress due to TM, trauma re‐experiencing, anxiety, and a composite measure of PTSD. Conclusion MIT is a simple, effective, and easy‐to‐use tool for treating TM and other stress‐related symptoms. It requires relatively few resources and could be adapted to many contexts. The results provide proof‐of‐principle support for conducting future research with larger cohorts and controls to improve clinical effectiveness and research on brief interventions. Abstract Introduction Traumatic memories of events such as a life‐threatening incident, serious injury, or sexual violence are a core symptom of stress‐related disorders; they might be susceptible to positive modification with interference tasks (reconsolidation‐based interventions). Our objective was to test the effect of performing a motor interference task (finger tapping in response to audio cues) on patients who suffer from traumatic memories. Methods We designed an uncontrolled pilot prospective clinical trial. Ten participants listened to an audio track that instructed them to tap their fingers in response to specific audio cues while trying to recall the traumatic event. Each patient underwent an assessment including the Spanish version of the PTSD Symptom Severity Scale‐Revised (EGS‐R), the visual analogue scale (EQ‐VAS) from EuroQol 5D (EQ‐5D), and a simple visual analogue scale (VAS) before the intervention, immediately after, and a week after the treatment. Results All measures exhibited a statistically significant improvement 1 week after the study. On the PTSD scale, 1 week later, 30% of the patients did not score high enough for such diagnosis. And this can only assume who considers to another worthy brother, who is to take care of.

El presente texto pretende relacionar algunas líneas y rutas de análisis como aportes al debate que viene resurgiendo en Latinoamérica en torno al tercer componente no desarrollado de la modernidad: La Fraternidad. Para ello se hará referencia al concepto desde una dimensión política, propia de la modernidad y a la propuesta de la filosofía franciscana.AbstractThis text aims to connect some lines and routes of analysis as contribution to the debate which is reappearing in Latin America around the third non-developed component of modernity: Fraternity. Aunque el estudio de la empresa hoy no se encuen­tra restringido únicamente al Derecho Mercantil, es sin duda esta rama la que mayor relevancia tiene en su tratamiento. Por eso, no podía ser ajeno a es­ ta edición un trabajo como el que el doctor Morales entrega a continuación. En él se discute el ámbito al que contrae su estudio el también llamado Derecho Comercial. Nacido bajo una perspectiva subje­tivista, como Derecho de los comerciantes, el Dere­ cho Comercial evolucionó desde la segunda mitad del siglo pasado hasta entenderse como el Derecho de los actos de comercio. Como el lector recordará, es ésta precisamente la perspectiva que nuestro an ciano Código de Comercio de 1902 acoge.Sin perjuicio de ello, la constante evolución de la actividad económica ha requerido nuevamente la redefinición de conceptos que, aplicables en su mo­ mento, aparecen obsoletos ante una realidad que los supera. En este marco, una importante corriente doctrinaria -a la que el doctor Morales adhiere- ha planteado la necesidad de delimitar nuevamente la materia de Derecho Mercantil, para determinar si ella debe limitarse al estudio del estatuto del empresario y al de las relaciones externas en las que ne­cesariamente interviene o, si más bien, debe trans­formarse para convertirse en el Derecho de la Em­presa.

Se estudiaron genes candidatos para tamaño de la camada en 300 hembras porcinas Yorkshire-Landrace; ESR, PRLR, RBP4 y FUT1. Las hembras fueron agrupadas en dos niveles de producción (NP): nivel alto (NA) y nivel bajo (NB). Utilizando Ji cuadrado se analizaron las frecuencias génicas y genotípicas. Empleando análisis de varianza con un modelo de efectos mixtos, para lechones nacidos totales (LNT), nacidos vivos (LNV), peso de la camada al nacimiento (PNAC) y destete (PAJ21), lechones destetados (LD) y valor de cría de la progenie de la cerda (BVSP), se compararon las medias con contrastes ortogonales. Las hembras con alta productividad se asociaron con una mayor frecuencia del alelo B del gen ESR (P < 0,05). Las diferencias fueron de 0,4 LNV, 0,3 LD, 2,9 Kg de PAJ21 y 8,6 puntos de BVSP a favor del genotipo AB del gen ESR (P menor 0,05) sin considerar el NP, no se detectaron animales homocigotos BB. Las frecuencias génicas y genotípicas del gen PRLR no se relacionaron con el NP (P mayor 0,05), no hubo diferencias (P mayor 0,05) entre los genotipos AA, AB y BB sin considerar el NP ni dentro del mismo NP. En el gen RBP4 la frecuencia del alelo A y del genotipo AA fue más alta en hembras con NA (P menor 0,05), no se detectaron animales con genotipo BB. Las hembras con genotipos AA tuvieron más 0,5 LNT; 0,5 LNV; 0,6 Kg de PNAC; 2,6 Kg de PAJ21 y 3,2 puntos de BVSP que el genotipo AB (P menor 0,05), sin considerar el NP. La frecuencia del alelo G y del genotipo GG del gen FUT1 fue mayor en el nivel de productividad alto (P menor 0,05). El genotipo GG fue superior al genotipo AG con más 0,6 LNV; 0,8 Kg de PNAC; 3 Kg de PAJ21 y 3,9 puntos de BVSP (P < 0,05) sin considerar el NP.

ABSTRACT: The avian infectious bronchitis virus (IBV) is a highly mutable coronavirus that causes an acute and highly contagious disease responsible for economic losses to the poultry industry worldwide. Preventing and controlling bronchitis disease is difficulted by the numerous IBV circulating types with limited antigenic cross-protection that hamper the prevention and control by heterologous vaccines. The coding region of the variable spike S1 receptor-attachment domain is used to classify IBV in 7 genotypes (GI–GVII) comprising 35 viral lineages (1–35). Knowledge of the circulating IBV types causing outbreaks in a specific geographic region is beneficial to select better the appropriate vaccine(s) and contribute to disease control. In the study, 17 avian infectious bronchitis virus strains were obtained from chickens showing signs of illness in Mexico from 2007 to 2021. We detected 4 lineages within genotype I, three already known (GI-3, GI-9, GI-13) and one newly described (GI-30). In addition, we identified 2 divergent monophyletic groups that are tentatively described as lineages of new genotypes (GVIII-1 and GIX-1). Our findings revealed that Mexico's high genetic IBV diversity results from the co-circulation of divergent lineages belonging to different genotypes. Mexican IBV lineages differ significantly from Massachusetts and Connecticut vaccine strains, indicating that the currently used vaccines may need to be updated.

Plasmodium gametogenesis within the mosquito midgut is a complex differentiation process involving signaling mediated by phosphorylation, which modulate metabolic routes and protein synthesis required to complete this development. However, the mechanisms leading to gametogenesis activation are poorly understood. We analyzed protein phosphorylation during Plasmodium berghei gametogenesis in vitro in serum-free medium using bidimensional electrophoresis (2-DE) combined with immunoblotting (IB) and antibodies specific to phosphorylated serine, threonine and tyrosine. Approximately 75 protein exhibited phosphorylation changes, of which 23 were identified by mass spectrometry. These included components of the cytoskeleton, heat shock proteins, and proteins involved in DNA synthesis and signaling pathways among others. Novel phosphorylation events support a role for these proteins during gametogenesis. The phosphorylation sites of six of the identified proteins, HSP70, WD40 repeat protein msi1, enolase, actin-1 and two isoforms of large subunit of ribonucleoside reductase were investigated using TiO2 phosphopeptides enrichment and tandem mass spectrometry. In addition, transient exposure to hydroxyurea, an inhibitor of ribonucleoside reductase, impaired male gametocytes exflagellation in a dose-dependent manner, and provides a resource for functional studies.

Observing in school structural designs reviews that students had little conceptual command of Statics, and considering that this was due to the implementation of linear solutions of rote-learning type, there was an effort to establish an educational proposal to raise the level of such knowledge among students. Therefore, the present study aimed to evaluate the educational impact achieved with the implementation of an educational instrument designed according to the sequence established in the TADIR protocol, and complemented with thoughtful activities to organize knowledge to prepare a presentation to the group. Three stages were considered for the implementation: the first one corresponds to the assessment of the level of conceptual knowledge in statics; the second one, a problem solving carried out with the proposed instrument; and the third stage focuses on the preparation of the presentation to the group, and closes with a second conceptual evaluation. The didactic instrument was applied in a group of 23 students from an intermediate level of Architect Engineer studies at the Superior School of Engineering and Architecture (ESIAT) of the National Polytechnic Institute (IPN) in Mexico. To measure the educational impact, the results were compared with the two conceptual evaluations conducted by using questionnaires that allow answers written within an established format to facilitate the codification and the corresponding analysis, and it was contrasted with school grades for better reference. The main finding was that although the increase in the conceptual command is greater than the school grading, this increase can be very important to improve the school approval rates.
