Abstract

In this paper, we present an identity (ID) based protocol that secures AODV and TCP so that it can be used in dynamic and attack prone environments of mobile ad hoc networks. The proposed protocol protects AODV using Sequential Aggregate Signatures (SAS) based on RSA. It also generates a session key for each pair of source-destination nodes of a MANET for securing the end-to-end transmitted data. Here each node has an ID which is evaluated from its public key and the messages that are sent are authenticated with a signature/ MAC. The proposed scheme does not allow a node to change its ID throughout the network lifetime. Thus it makes the network secure against attacks that target AODV and TCP in MANET. We present performance analysis to validate our claim.

Abstract

The Internet of Things (IoT) has been a rapidly developing field since its inception in 1982. In order to assess the past and future trends in IoT research, a search was conducted on Google Scholar which yielded 25 papers. These papers were then analyzed and discussed, leading to the conclusion that IoT is not only here to stay, but also continuously evolving. This can be seen in the advancements in technology, applications, areas of use, benefits, problems, and challenges. It is expected that this pattern of development will continue in the future, with the emergence of new technologies, applications, software, and areas of use. However, as with any other field, there will be barriers and challenges that need to be overcome at each stage of progress. Furthermore, there is immense potential to integrate IoT with Artificial Intelligence (AI), leading to even more innovative and efficient applications. Abstract

With the increased use of internet services for various public and private purposes, the threat of cyber-attacks is also increasing. Machine learning methods are effective against these threats. This paper aims to review these methods in terms of their utility for the detection, identification, and mitigation of cyber-attacks now and in the future. Many reviews described and discussed various machine learning methods and how each method can be used against specific types of cyber threats. However, empirical evidence did not show any clear superiority of one method over the others. The differences in research contexts and methodologies could have contributed to this uncertainty. However, deep learning methods might have an edge over shallow learning methods. Emerging new trends of cyber-attacks demand renewed research on the problem. The invention of an entirely new concept to deal with various cybersecurity issues cannot be ruled out. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
