BackgroundPhysical activity (PA) improves many facets of health. Despite this, the majority of American adults are insufficiently active. Adults who visit a physician complaining of chest pain and related cardiovascular symptoms are often referred for further testing. However, when this testing does not reveal an underlying disease or pathology, patients typically receive no additional standard care services. A PA intervention delivered within the clinic setting may be an effective strategy for improving the health of this population at a time when they may be motivated to take preventive action. ObjectiveOur aim was to determine the effectiveness of a tailored, computer-based, interactive personal action planning session to initiate PA among a group of sedentary cardiac patients following exercise treadmill testing (ETT). MethodsThis study was part of a larger 2x2 randomized controlled trial to determine the impact of environmental and social-cognitive intervention approaches on the initiation and maintenance of weekly PA for patients post ETT. Participants who were referred to an ETT center but had a negative-test (ie, stress tests results indicated no apparent cardiac issues) were randomized to one of four treatment arms: (1) increased environmental accessibility to PA resources via the provision of a free voucher to a fitness facility in close proximity to their home or workplace (ENV), (2) a tailored social cognitive intervention (SC) using a “5 As”-based (ask, advise, assess, assist, and arrange) personal action planning tool, (3) combined intervention of both ENV and SC approaches (COMBO), or (4) a matched contact nutrition control (CON). Each intervention was delivered using a computer-based interactive session. A general linear model for repeated measures was conducted with change in PA behavior from baseline to 1-month post interactive computer session as the primary outcome. ResultsSedentary participants (n=452; 34.7% participation rate) without a gym membership (mean age 58.57 years; 59% female, 78% white, 12% black, 11% Hispanic) completed a baseline assessment and an interactive computer session. Introduction: The osteomas are osseous lesions with slow and asymptomatic growth that most of the times is a finding in radiological exams requested for other reason. It's the most common benign neoplasm of the paranasal sinuses. The osteomas are located mainly in the frontal sinus (57% to 80%), followed by the ethmoidal sinuses (20%), maxillary sinuses and rarely in the sphenoid sinus. It has a discreet predominance in the male sex 1.5 and its incidence is higher in the 3rd and 4th decades of life. The treatment is surgical no matter the size. Objective: To describe a case of giant osteoma of the ethmoidal sinus including a brief literature review. Case Report: JDA, male, 33 years old, presented with a right constant nasal obstruction for 01 year. Upon exam, he presented with facial asymmetry with lateralization of the right ocular globe. The computed tomography of the paranasal sinuses showed a lesion with density of soft parts occupying partially the right nasal cavity, ethmoid sinus and right maxillary. The patient was submitted to surgery with full exeresis of the lesion. The anatomopathological exam confirmed osteoma. The patient evolved without evidences of the lesion recurrence. Final Comments: The osteomas in the ethmoidal sinus, irrespectively of the size and due to the risk of complications, must be operated.

Introduction: The sphenoid adenoid cystic carcinoma is a rare malign neoplasm, in the head and neck and when located in the paranasal sinuses, it is formed in the minor salivary glands. It grows slowly and is characterized by a large invasion of the adjacent tissues, and also has a large capacity of metastasis. The surgery associated with post-operative radiotherapy is used as treatment. Objective: To describe a case of sphenoid sinus adenoid cystic carcinoma in a male, black, 62 year patient. Case Report: N.L.B., 62 years of age, male, had bloody rhinorrhea for 6 months associated with bilateral nasal obstruction. The nasofibroscopy showed lesion of polypoid aspect in the left nasal cavity. He was submitted to biopsy and the anatomopathological exam showed adenoid cystic carcinoma and the patient was forwarded to oncology. Conclusions: The importance of conducting the differential diagnosis between chronic nasosinusal infection and nasosinusal tumors.

Research on camelid-derived single-domain antibodies (sdAbs) has demonstrated their significant utility in diverse biotechnological applications, including therapy and diagnostic. This is largely due to their relative simplicity as monomeric proteins, ranging from 12 to 15 kDa, in contrast to immunoglobulin G (IgG) antibodies, which are glycosylated heterotetramers of 150–160 kDa. Single-domain antibodies exhibit high conformational stability and adopt the typical immunoglobulin domain fold, consisting of a two-layer sandwich of 7–9 antiparallel beta-strands. They contain three loops, known as complementary-determining regions (CDRs), which are assembled on the sdAb surface and are responsible for antigen recognition. The single-domain antibody examined in this study, sdAb-mrh-IgG, was engineered to recognize IgG from rats, mice, but it also weakly recognizes IgG from humans (Pleiner et al. 2018). A search of the Protein Data Bank revealed only one NMR structure of a single-domain antibody, which is unrelated to sdAb-mrh-IgG. The NMR chemical shift assignments of sdAb-mrh-IgG will be utilized to study its molecular dynamics and interactions with antigens in solution, which is fundamental for the rational design of novel single-domain antibodies. The Rho GTPase (Ras homolog GTPases) system is a crucial signal transducer that regulates various cellular processes, including cell cycle and migration, genetic transcription, and apoptosis. In this study, we investigated the unfolded state of the first FF domain (FF1) of P190A RhoGAP, which features four tandem FF domains. For signal transduction, FF1 is phosphorylated at tyrosine 308 (Y308), which is buried in the hydrophobic core and is inaccessible to kinases in the folded domain. It was proposed, therefore, that the phosphorylation occurs in a transiently populated unfolded state of FF1. To probe the folding pathway of the RhoGAP FF1 domain, here we have performed a nearly complete backbone resonance assignments of a putative partially unfolded state of FF1 in 5 M urea and its fully unfolded state in 8 M urea. The nucleocapsid (N) protein of SARS-CoV-2 is a multifunctional protein involved in nucleocapsid assembly and various regulatory functions. It is the most abundant protein during viral infection. Its functionality is closely related to its structure, which comprises two globular domains, the N-terminal domain (NTD) and the C-terminal domain (CTD), flanked by intrinsically disordered regions. The linker between the NTD and CTD includes a Serine-Arginine rich (SR) region, which is crucial for the regulation of the N protein's function. Here, we report the near-complete assignment of the construct containing the NTD followed by the SR region (NTD-SR). This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of the VAMOS strategy (Health-Improving Active Life) in improving physical activity (PA), dietary habits, and anthropometric variables of primary health care (PHC) users in Brazil. A randomized controlled community trial was conducted at two units of the Health Academy Program (HAP; a service provided by PHC), which were randomly assigned either to control group (CG) or intervention group (IG). Participants in both groups (CG = 156 and IG = 135) took part in physical activity classes provided by HAP facilities with those in IG also participating in the VAMOS strategy for 12 weeks. This strategy is based on social cognitive theory. The main behavioral constructs addressed were self-efficacy, goal setting, self-monitoring, identification of social support and barriers, and solutions for the identified barriers. Physical activity was measured with accelerometers, and nutritional status was assessed using dietary habits questionnaires and anthropometric measurements. Intention-to-treat analysis revealed that participants in IG increased the daily time of moderate-vigorous PA and the frequency of raw vegetable intake, while the intake of ultra-processed foods was reduced. Weight loss among participants who were classified as overweight/obese at baseline was observed in the intervention group compared to control. These results suggest that the VAMOS strategy was effective in increasing PA, healthy dietary habits, and decreasing weight among PHC users. Therefore, VAMOS could be used as a strategy to strengthen individuals' autonomy regarding healthy choices and improve their overall health.
