The role of waiting and temporality has been explored in relation to gender-confirming healthcare for adults. However, young people's experiences have been lacking, both in previous research and in the public debates on young trans people's access to gender-confirming medical procedures. This paper explores young trans people's experiences of waiting for and in gender-confirming healthcare in the Swedish context. The analysis draws on 16 semi-structured interviews with young trans people (16-25 years old). The analysis was done using thematic analysis and conceptual work on 'waiting' and 'youth'. The participants described waiting as one of the most challenging aspects of their encounters with the gender-confirming healthcare, and the findings also show that this waiting has consequences for youth's mental health and social life. Social workers can have an important role in providing psychosocial support in times of waiting., Väntan och temporalitet har utforskats och diskuterats tidigare i relation till könsbekräftande vård för vuxna. Ungdomars egna erfarenheter har dock saknats, både i tidigare forskning och i samhällsdebatten om unga transpersoners tillgång till könbekräftande vård. I den här artikeln utforskar vi unga transpersoners egna erfarenheter av att vänta på och inom den könsbekräftande vården i Sverige. Analysen bygger på 16 halvstrukturerade intervjuer med unga transpersoner (16-25 år). Analysen gjordes med hjälp av tematisk analys och inspirerades av teoretiska arbeten kring 'väntan' och 'ungdomstid'. Väntan beskrevs av deltagarna som en mycket central fråga i deras möten med vården och som en av de mest utmanande aspekterna av att försöka få tillgång till könsbekräftande vård. Analysen visar också att väntan på och inom den könsbekräftande vården får konsekvenser för unga transpersoners psykiska hälsa och sociala liv. Socialarbetare kan ha en viktig roll i att ge psykosocialt stöd i väntan på vård.

Climate change is likely to affect the prerequisites for forest management. Therefore, it is imperative to investigate how silviculture practices can be adjusted to changing conditions. Norway spruce (Picea abies) is one of the most common species in the Swedish forests, with high economic and ecological values. The species is relatively sensitive to drought, and climate change is likely to entail more frequent drought periods. Thinning is considered to decrease the competition of resources between the trees in a forest stand. Thus, it might be possible to decrease the negative effect of drought by conducting thinnings. The purpose of this study was to investigate if weather conditions affect the individual tree growth response to thinning in spruce stands, and if some thinning methods made the stands more resilient to weather conditions. The analysis was conducted with tree cores sampled from the thinning and fertilization experiments, a large field experiment with sites all over the country. Four sites in southern Sweden were selected. One control treatment and two thinning methods were chosen from each site: one heavy thinning (treatment c) and 2 – 6 thinnings from below (treatment A/E). The ring widths were measured in a dendrochronology laboratory. The results showed a clear difference in growth between the heavy thinning and the other treatments. After a heavy thinning had been conducted, the Basal area increment of the remaining trees increased. The same pattern could to some extent be observed for the other treatments as well, however the increase was not as great. For the years where the Basal Area Increment was unusually low in the control plot, the treatments seemed to do slightly better, however the result was not significant. The weather-growth relationship was analysed with the R package treeclim, however precipitation and growth only seemed to correlate before thinning for the A/E treatment. Good waste management is essential to reach a sustainable development, although it is not always easy to achieve. Historical buildings have several requirements concerning fire security, working environment and aesthetics which can make it hard for them to introduce sorting systems. The purpose of this study is to investigate the obstacles historical buildings can encounter concerning indoor waste management, and to present solutions for them. The study focuses on the AF-building, an historically valuable building in the heart of Lund. The results were based upon literature concerning fire security in historical buildings, working environment for cleaners and the aesthetic aspect of sorting furniture. Interviews and an investigation of waste management in buildings in Lund with conditions similar to those in the AF-building were made. The results showed that the conditions of the AF-building are quite unique, though there are things that can be learnt from the waste management in other buildings. It also showed that historically valuable buildings require higher precautions concerning fire security. The easiest way to introduce a sorting system is to do it in connection with a renovation, however it is also possible to buy furniture with special equipment that make them more fire resistant. Still, sorting out the waste with the intention of letting it to material recycling won’t be enough. The amount of waste will also have to decrease. Only a small part of the AF-building was examined in this study, in order to truly decrease the negative environmental impact of the AF-building, a solution for all the waste in the AF-building must be found., Källsortering i historiska byggnader - är det möjligt? God avfallshantering och ökad materialåtervinning är viktiga pusselbitar i mänsklighetens strävan efter en hållbar utveckling. Att införa källsorteringssystem i vissa byggnader är dock lättare sagt än gjort. AF-borgen i Lund, Akademiska föreningens hus, är ett exempel på en byggnad där det uppkommer betydande mängder avfall, men där möjligheterna till källsortering är begränsade. Det beror på att byggnaden är historiskt värdefull och skyddas mot ombyggnation genom kommunens bestämmelser över hur området ska se ut. Dessutom är det svårt att finna och placera ut källsorteringsmöbler, det vill säga möbler m ed olika fraktioner för insamling av avfall, som lever upp till kraven på brandsäkerhet. I nuläget finns inte heller någon möjlighet att källsortera utanför byggnaden, eftersom Lunds kommun avslog ansökan om att bygga ett miljöhus i anknytning till Lundagård. Studenter som vistas i och använder sig av AF-borgen har börjat ställa krav på ett källsorteringssystem i byggnaden. Den här uppsatsen syftar till att med AF-borgen som fallstudie utreda hur historiskt värdefulla byggnader kan införa källsorteringssystem med avseende på arbetsmiljö, brandsäkerhet och estetik. Resultatet baserades på intervjuer och en fältundersökning av andra byggnader, och underbyggs med relevant litteratur. Intervjuer och litteraturstudier pekade mot att historiskt värdefulla byggnader ställs inför avsevärt fler utmaningar när det kommer till brandsäkerhet än vad andra byggnader gör. Källsorteringsmöbler med förhöjd brandsäkerhet finns dock att tillgå. Vad gäller arbetsmiljö är det för lokalvårdarnas skull viktigt med ergonomiskt anpassade källsorteringsmöbler. Sett till estetiken är det viktigt att källsorteringsmöbler harmoniserar med övrig inredning, samtidigt som deras syfte tydligt ska framgå. Fältundersökningen i andra byggnader visade på att källsortering är möjlig även i historiskt värdefulla byggnader. Den viktigaste åtgärden är

Detta nummer av TGV samlar texter som på olika vis undersöker förhållandena mellan å ena sidan akademisk feminism och feministiska rörelser, och å andra sidan transstudier och transaktivistiska rörelser genom att ta utgångspunkt i begreppet cisnormativitet. Numret är tänkt att initiera samtal som överskrider en förenklad dikotomi mellan å ena sidan exkluderande eller transfobiska feminismer och å andra sidan inkluderande eller transbekräftande feminismer (Stryker och Bettcher 2016). På samma gång som det behövs kompetens om transfrågor inom feministiska rörelser, inom och utom akademin, och därtill ett ökat intresse för varför transfrågor också är feministiska frågor, behövs det en form av transstudier som arbetar aktivt med arvet från feministiska analyser, teorier och diskussioner genom historien och i nutid. Transstudier, transaktivism och inom- och utomakademiska feminismer är samtliga rörelser som grundas i en önskan om att bekämpa könsbaserad diskriminering. Transstudier och feministisk forskning är även intimt förbundna med varandra i strävan att analysera och förstå epistemologier, diskurser och praktiker som konstituerar kön. Fälten förenas i ett intresse för hur betydelser av begrepp som kön, genus, trans, cis, kvinna, man och queer är i kontinuerlig förändring. Med utgångspunkt i begreppet cisnormativitet diskuteras förhållandena mellan feminismer och transstudier. Numret fokuserar på några av de samtal som redan existerar såväl inom som utanför akademin: Hur ser förhållandena ut mellan feminismer och transstudier? Vad betyder fälten för varandra? Hur kan de utmana och informera varandra? Det här numret av TGV samlar alltså delar av den skandinaviska forskning som arbetar med frågor kring cisnormativitet och feminismer, och som pågår i överlappningarna mellan transstudier, feministisk forskning, och queer teori.

This dissertation focuses on the polyphonic body politics of modern society, as activated in three Swedish Government Official Reports from the 1960s and 1970s. The analysis takes as its point of departure the assumptions about embodiment and identity uncovered in these reports. I argue that the reports – which concern the establishment of juridical sex, the right to abortion, and sterilization – all deal with the question of the individual’s right to decide on issues relating to his or her own body. The commissioners themselves claim that their proposals are formulated in the name of individual rights; and that they are progressive and modern. Although the importance to uphold the individual’s right to autonomy is thus emphasized, there are other values that need to be accounted for. The individual’s sovereignty in these matters is per definition a question open for discussion, and it actualizes a conflict of interest between the individual on one hand and the state or the public interest on the other, or between the individual and professional experts. Who is to decide in matters of the body? What assumptions are made in relation to sex, gender and desire? In addition to the historical approach – the attempt to reconstruct the discourses on sex, gender, and desire, individual autonomy and public interest, generated in the mentioned reports – I initiate a theoretical line of inquiry that draws from the conviction that we need to seek new ways to approach the body; ways that challenge dichotomies that are taken for granted, such as the distinction between body and mind, inner and outer, biological and social, nature and nurture etc. Focusing on Judith Butler’s reformulation of Aristotle’s concepts form and matter into the dynamic concept of materialization, I argue that the concept form has analytic qualities that make it especially useful when analyzing discourses of the body., Form och innehåll
