Fuzzy Time Series (Fts) models are experiencing an increase in popularity due to their effectiveness in forecasting and modelling diverse and intricate time series data sets. Essentially these models use membership functions and fuzzy logic relation functions to produce predicted outputs through a defuzzification process. In this study, we suggested using a Second Order Type-1 fts (S-O T-1 F-T-S) forecasting model for the analysis of time series data sets. The suggested method was compared to the state-of-theart First Order Type 1 Fts method. The suggested approach demonstrated superior performance compared to the First Order Type 1 Fts method when applied to household consumption data from the Magene Regency in Indonesia, as measured by absolute percentage error rate (APER).

Maraknya pembangunan perumahan permukiman yang kurang selaras dengan penyediaan sarana dan prasarana bagi masyarakat khususnya untuk perumahan MBR yang menjadi salah satu isu di Kota Palembang yang dapat mempengaruhi wajah kota. Kota Palembang merupakan ibu kota Provinsi Sumatera Selatan yang di dalam dokumen RTRW Kota Palembang 2012-2023 menunjukkan bahwa daerah pinggiran Kota Palembang diarahkan untuk pembangunan perumahan, namun terdapat isu kurangnya penyediaan sarana dan prasarana dasar pada perumahan MBR tersebut. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis tingkat kesesuaian penyediaan prasarana dan sarana perumahan MBR di Kota Palembang. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah mix method perbandingan antara kondisi eksisting dengan Peraturan Pemerintah Nomor 14 Tahun 2016 tentang Penyelenggaraan Perumahan dan Kawasan Permukiman. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, kuisioner, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Dari analisis yang sudah dilakukan pada Perumahan Griya Asri, Perumahan Villa Bayani, Perumahan Griya Revari Indah, dan Perumahan Grand Wijaya Persada yang berlokasi di Kota Palembang tersebut, didapati bahwa tingkat kesesuaian sarana dan prasarana sudah sesuai dan terlayani, baik pada perumahan-perumahan dengan tahun pembangunan yang terbilang baru seperti perumahan Villa Bayani dan perumahan yang cukup lama seperti Perumahan Griya Asri.

Introduction: The aim of this study was to evaluate the processes of bone remodeling and osteoreparation in modeling femoral fracture in mice with zero expression of 11β-HSD2 (11β-HSD2-/-) or both 11β-HSD2 and apolipoprotein e (11β-HSD2-/-/ApoE-/-). Materials and Methods: The experimental study was conducted on 60 male mice weighing 24-30 g. The study used male mice that lacked the expression of 11β-HSD2 (knockout mice with the Hsd2-/- genotype) and male mice that lacked the expression of 11β-HSD2 and apolipoprotein E (double knockout mice with the Hsd2-/-/ApoE-/- genotype). The control group includes wild type C57bl/6 animals. Modeling of a fracture of the proximal metaphysis of the femur was performed in animals at the age of 6 months using a closed technique. Fracture fusion and bone remodeling and osteoreparation processes were evaluated 6 weeks after fracture modeling. Results and Discussion: It has been shown that a violation of the regulation of steroid hormone metabolism in groups of animals with the Hsd2-/- and Hsd2-/-/ApoE-/- genotypes leads to an increase in the number of ungrown fractures by 3 and 3.5 times, respectively, in comparison with wild-type animals. It was found that the microcirculation level of the proximal metaphysis of the left femur in the area of the formed bone callus in the group of animals with the genotype 11β-HSD2-/- significantly decreased from 92.075±4.33 perfusion units (PE) in the group of wild-type animals to 82.67±3.54 PE (p=0.0002) in the group of animals with the genotype HSD2-/- and up to 75.85±5.64 (p

Abstract Developing open-shell singlet (OS) diradicals with high luminescent properties and exceptional single-molecule magnetoluminescence (ML) performance is extremely challenging. Herein, we propose a concept to enhance luminescent efficiency by adjusting the donor conjugation of OS diradicals, thereby achieving a highly luminescent diradical, DR1, with outstanding stability and making it a viable option for use in the emitting layer of organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs). More importantly, the 0.5 wt%-DR1 doped film demonstrates significant single-molecule magnetoluminescence (ML) properties. A giant ML value of 210% is achieved at a magnetic field of 7 T, showing the great potential of DR1 in magneto-optoelectronic devices.

Background: Damage to the skin and underlying tissues due to thermal burns is relevant. Despite the success of modern medicine, repairing thermal damage to the skin is a difficult task in reconstructive plastic surgery because of the nature of the damage and the regenerative features. Characteristic post-burn changes are associated with different depths of damage when areas of deep damage are combined with more superficial areas. Methods: We described a clinical case of the staged surgical treatment of a cicatricial deformity of the buccal-periorbital-perioral region resulting from a childhood burn injury from a hot object. The 44-year-old patient complained of an aesthetic and functional deformity of the buccal-periorbital-perioral region and had previously undergone repeated nonsurgical corrections. Results: A comprehensive approach to the surgical treatment of a patient with post-burn deformities using a diplene adhesive membrane directly affected the stage of the surgical treatment and contributed to improved functional and aesthetic results. Conclusion: The positive treatment results with preserved contraction and relaxation processes of the facial muscles as well as satisfactory aesthetic results allow us to recommend the use of a biodegradable diplene film during facial reconstructive operations.

This study aimed to examine the spatio-temporal variations in the atmospheric boundary layer height (ABLH) over the Tarim Basin (TB). Monthly ABLH data from the ERA-Interim dataset from January 1979 to December 2018 were used. Periodicity analysis and the Mann–Kendall Abrupt Changes test were employed to identify the change cycle and abrupt change year of the boundary layer height. The Empirical Orthogonal Function (EOF) method was utilized to determine the spatial distribution of the boundary layer height, and the RF method was used to establish the relationship between the ABLH and influencing factors. The results demonstrated that the highest values of ABLH (over 1900 m) were observed in the middle parts of the study area in June, and the ABLH exhibited a significant increase over the TB throughout the study period. Abrupt changes in the ABLH were also identified in 2004, as well as in 2-, 5-, 9-, and 15-year changing cycles. The first EOF ABLH mode indicated that the middle and northeast regions are relatively high ABLH areas within the study area. Additionally, the monthly variations in ABLH show a moderately positive correlation with air temperature, while exhibiting a negative correlation with air pressure and relative humidity.

Introduction: The aim was to evaluate the structural and functional changes of bone tissue in mice with null expression of 11β-HSD2 or both 11β-HSD2 and Apolipoprotein E. Materials and methods: The experimental study was performed in 60 male mice, weighting 24–30 g. The animals were kept in accordance with the rules of laboratory practice for preclinical studies on the territory of the Russian Federation. Mice lacking 11β-HSD2 (Hsd2-/-) and male mice lacking 11β-HSD2 and Apolipoprotein E (Hsd2-/-/Apoe-/-) were used in the study. We studied and characterized the state of bone tissue, indicators of bone density, microcirculation in bone tissue, endothelial dysfunction coefficient, width of bone trabeculae, as well as serum concentrations of bone alkaline phosphatase, hydroxyproline, deoxyprinoline and expression levels of p53, Bcl2, Bax, eNOS genes. Results and discussion: We showed that mice with the Hsd2-/- genotype with no expression of 11ß-HSD2 by the 6th month of life showed a statistically significant decrease in bone density, which progresses to the 7th and 8th months of life. At the 8th month of animal life, a decrease in bone density is accompanied by a statistically significant decrease in the level of microcirculation in the bone and an increase in the coefficient of endothelial dysfunction. Taking into account the relationship of endothelial dysfunction, atherogenesis and disorders in the processes of bone remodeling, in the framework of this study, we also assessed the state of bone tissue in double transgenes with the genotype Hsd2-/-/Apoe-/-, which lack the expression of both 11ß-HSD2 and Apolipoprotein E. In this study, we also saw increased activation of processes leading to disruption of bone remodeling processes. In the group of the animals with the genotype Hsd2-/-/Apoe-/-, we found statistically significant differences from the mice with no expression of 11ß-HSD2 in bone density and microcirculation, and the width of bone trabeculae. Also, a statistically significant increase in hydroxyproline and deoxyprinoline was found in the group of double transgenes, in the absence of significant changes in the concentration of bone alkaline phosphatase. This fact indicates a pronounced activation of bone resorption processes in the absence of activation of osteosynthesis processes, which leads to the detected violation of bone remodeling processes. Conclusion: Thus, we have shown that a violation of the metabolic regulation of steroid hormone metabolism in animals with null expression of the 11ß-HSD2 (Hsd2-/- genotype) leads to the development of signs of osteoporosis – bone density decreases, which is accompanied by a decrease in the width of bone trabeculae, the level of microcirculation in bone tissue decreases simultaneously with an increase in the coefficient of endothelial dysfunction. The additional null expression of ApoE gene in double transgenes with the genotype Hsd2-/-/Apoe-/- leads to an increase in the severity of changes associated with a violation of bone remodeling processes and, in addition to a more pronounced change in bone tissue density, bone trabecular width, microcirculation and the coefficient of endothelial dysfunction leads to an increase in the concentration of biochemical markers of bone resorption. These changes indicate the important role of the enzyme 11ß-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase type 2 in the processes of bone remodeling disorders. Graphical abstract

This article explores the importance of the activities of government agencies in the development and implementation of water resources management strategies. Analyzing the functions and powers of government institutions, the authors discuss their influence on the formation of legislation, the development of water resources management strategies and monitoring their implementation. The article also examines current problems and challenges faced by government institutions in this area, and also suggests ways to solve them to ensure sustainable management of water resources in Kyrgyzstan. Particular attention is paid to the role of government institutions in regulating access to water resources, as well as in developing strategies to ensure sustainable use of water resources in a changing climate. The results of the study may be useful for forming recommendations for improving water resources management policies in Kyrgyzstan.

The wood processing production system in its activities always produces waste in the form of husks or pieces of wood. The opportunity to control wood waste can be used to heat boilers as a substitute for fuel oil. This study on the use of wood waste was carried out to assess technical, economic and environmental aspects. An assessment of the technical aspect was carried out to see the efficiency of using wood waste compared to fuel oil. Financial aspects are an important consideration in utilizing wood waste, while environmental aspects. Studies show that diesel fuel consumption is higher than wood waste fuel consumption, however boiler efficiency is higher using oil fuel compared to wood waste fuel, namely 70%: 20%. Financial analysis using NPV shows that this wood waste fueled boiler is economically feasible. From environmental aspects, it is known that fuel consumption for one year for wood waste fuel produces CO2 emissions of 1,207.36 tons, which is lower than CO2 emissions from burning diesel which is 6,808.31 tons.

A compound preservative for prolonging the storage period of onion paste Nang was studied. Picking up the total number of colonies and pH as indicators, based on the single factor test of different preservatives. Three preservatives with significant benign changes were chosen for the response surface test with the total number of colonies as the response value. The sole factor effect and analysis of variance showed that the primary and secondary order of the three factors was: External control preservative>sodium dehydrogenate>sodium diacetate. The interaction between sodium diacetate and sodium dehydrogenate and the interaction between sodium diacetate and external control preservative had synergistic effect, and the synergistic effect of the latter was stronger than the former, but there was no synergistic effect between sodium dehydrogenate and external control preservative. The optimum formula of compound preservative was sodium diacetate 1.06 g/kg, external control preservative 1.33 tablets/200 g and sodium dehydrogenate 0.16 g/kg. After storage for 6 days at room temperature (27~30 ℃), the total number of colonies of onion pulp Nang was (2.61±0.02) lg CFU/g, and the storage life could reach 23 days. The results showed that the compound preservative could significantly improve the antibacterial effect of onion paste Nang and it was of great significance to prolong the shelf life of onion paste Nang.

In order to deeply study the quality change characteristics of different tissues of boiled mutton during low-temperature storage, the lean meat, fat lean phase and fat meat part of boiled mutton were used as the main raw materials. The changes of pH, texture characteristics, color difference, total volatile base-nitrogen (TVB-N), total number of colonies and sensory evaluation were studied during its storage at 4 ℃ or low temperature for 28 days (samples were taken every 1 week) by vacuum packaging. The results showed that the pH value of different tissues of cooked mutton decreased first and then increased when stored at 4 ℃. Taking onion paste Nang as the research object, effects of glycerol monasteries, soybean phospholipid, α-amylase and glycerol on sensory score and hardness were studied. Taking hardness as the response value, the best combination of compound modifiers was given in the response surface analysis. The results showed that opposed to the control group, a single modifier could improve the sensory and hardness of onion paste Nang and delay the aging rate of Nang. The primary and secondary order of the influence of the additional amount of each factor on the hardness of onion paste Nang was as follows: α-amylase>monoglyceride>glycerol>soybean phospholipid. The best combination of the four modifiers was 0.45% monoglyceride, 0.62% soybean phospholipid, 0.06% α-amylase and 2.03% glycerol, and the sensory score was 90.92 points, hardness was 1190.72 g. Through the validation test, the hardness of onion paste Nang added according to this combination was 1142.29 g and the sensory score was 91.28 points. Compared with the control group, the sensory score increased by 10.66 points and the hardness decreased by 621.61 g. Compared with the single modifier, the compound modifier has certain advantages in sensory score, hardness and delaying the aging rate. It can significantly improve the quality of onion paste Nang and is of great significance to prolong the shelf life of onion paste Nang.

This qualitative study explored the views of teachers and an occupational therapist about the potential use of humanoid robots as an assistive tool in educating autism spectrum disorder (ASD) children. Seven participants with extensive experience handling early intervention programs for ASD children were selected via purposive sampling. Semi-structured interviews and focus group discussion (FGD) were applied as data collection method. Data gained were analyzed using thematic analysis. Four main themes were identified from the study, they are: (1) Teachers' knowledge about robots, (2) Robots increase children's engagement, (3) Roles of robots in intervention, and (4) advantages and disadvantages of using robots. All participants had observed a robot-mediated intervention involving interactions between ASD children and a humanoid robot. It was observed that most of the children at the center liked interacting with the robot, suggesting that the use of robots could benefit ASD children. However, these interactions must be monitored and limited to a certain period to avoid over-dependence on robot use. This study provides a novel perspective on robotics and a practical example of how to use robots to enhance learning outcomes for ASD children.

Lifestyles are evidence for the influence of systems, cultures and civilisations within various societies. In view of that, all systems of thought aim to maintain certain ways of living in citizens to implement their ideals. Furthermore, if societies do not accept the lifestyles introduced by such systems, their intellectual foundations and values are rejected. In this regard, the Islamic lifestyle does not imply giving up all pleasures and blessings, but it takes on a divine colour to all pleasures. The objective of this study was to investigate the relationship between religious lifestyle and social health among 1000 Muslim teachers working in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, over a period of six months, in 2020–21. Utilising the simple random sampling method, 278 teachers were thus selected as the statistical sample and then completed some questionnaires on Islamic lifestyle and social health. Data analysis was also performed using the structural equation modeling (SEM) in the Linear Structural Relations (LISREL) statistical software package. The results demonstrated a significant positive correlation between Islamic lifestyle and social health (p = 0.58, t = 6.84). Contribution: The study results showed the importance of Islamic lifestyle in improving teachers’ social health.

The variation of solar radiation has a profound effect on the surface energy balance and hydrological cycle. Although the relationship between solar radiation variation and its influencing factors has been extensively studied, they are seldom used in Xinjiang, the largest province in China. In this study, we investigated the spatial distribution and temporal variation in global radiation (Eg), water vapor content (WVC), aerosol optical depth (AOD), total cloud cover (TCC), and low-level cloud cover (LCC) in Xinjiang, northwestern China, between 1961 and 2015. The annual average Eg reported at all stations was 5126.3–6252.8 MJ·m−2 with a mean of 5672 MJ·m−2. The highest annual mean Eg of 6252.8 MJ·m−2 occurred in Hami, eastern Xinjiang, whereas the lowest annual mean Eg of 5126.3 MJ·m−2 occurred in Urumqi, northern Xinjiang. The annual Eg variation was mainly affected by WVC, AOD, TCC, and LCC. Decreases in annual, spring, summer, autumn, and winter Eg trends were recorded in Xinjiang at rates of −33.88 × 10−2, −1.92 × 10−2, −1.89 × 10−2, −3.47 × 10−2, and −3.56 × 10−2 MJ·m−2·decade−1, respectively, with decreasing ratios of 9.43%, 5.85%, 0.14%, 8%, and 20.55%, respectively. Increasing trends in annual WVC, AOD, TCC, and LCC were noted in Xinjiang at rates of 7.12 × 10−5 mm·decade−1, 2.74 × 10−6 decade−1, 8.77 × 10−5 % decade−1, and 5.73 × 10−5% decade−1, respectively. In addition, increasing trends in the annual Eg at Yining and Yanqi stations were observed. The Eg spatial distribution was complex in Xinjiang at the stations observed in this study, which were divided into six groups. Eg at group 1 showed an increasing trend associated with decreases in the WVC and TCC, whereas decreases in Eg were observed at groups 2–6, which could have been influenced by increases in AOD, TCC, and LCC.

IntroductionMapping and population size estimates of people who inject drugs (PWID) provide information needed for monitoring coverage of programs and planning interventions. The objectives of this study were to provide the locations and numbers of PWID in eight cities in Afghanistan and extrapolate estimates for the country as a whole.MethodsMultiple population size estimation methods were used, including key informant interviews for mapping and enumeration with reverse tracking, unique object and service multipliers, capture-recapture, and wisdom of the crowds. The results of the several methods were synthesized using the Anchored Multiplier-a Bayesian approach to produce point estimates and 95% credible intervals (CI). Using the prevalence of PWID in the eight cities and their correlation with proxy indicators, we extrapolated the PWID population size for all of Afghanistan.ResultsKey informants and field mapping identified 374 hotspots across the eight cities from December 29, 2018 to March 20, 2019. Synthesizing results of the multiple methods, the number of male PWID in the eight study cities was estimated to be 11,506 (95% CI 8,449-15,093), corresponding to 0.69% (95% CI 0.50-0.90) of the adult male population age 15-64 years. The total number of women who injected drugs was estimated at 484 (95% CI 356-633), corresponding to 0.03% (95% CI 0.02-0.04) of the adult female population. Extrapolating by proxy indicators, the total number of PWID in Afghanistan was estimated to be 54,782 (95% CI 40,250-71,837), men and 2,457 (95% CI 1,823-3,210) women. The total number of PWID in Afghanistan was estimated to be 57,207 (95% CI 42,049-75,005), which corresponds to 0.37% (95% CI 0.27-0.48) of the adult population age 15 to 64 years.DiscussionThis study provided estimates for the number of PWID in Afghanistan. These estimates can be used for advocating and planning services for this vulnerable at-risk population.

The characteristics of solar radiation and the influence of sand and dust on solar radiation in the northern margin of Taklimakan Desert were analyzed using radiation observation data from 2018. The results showed that the annual total radiation, direct radiation, and scattered radiation at Xiaotang were 5,781.8, 2,337.9, and 3,323.8 MJ m−2, respectively. The maximum monthly total radiation, direct radiation, and scattered radiation were observed in July (679.8 MJ m−2), August (317.3 MJ m−2), and May (455.7 MJ m−2), respectively. The aerosol optical depth corresponded well with the scattered radiation, and the maximum value was in May. Further analysis showed a significant correlation between the total radiation and solar height angle under different weather conditions. Under the same solar height angle, total radiation was higher during clear days but lower on sandstorm days. Calculation of atmospheric transmittance showed that the average atmospheric transmittance on a clear day was 0.67; on sand-and-dust days, it was 0.46. When the atmospheric transmittance was 0.5, the increase in scattering radiation by aerosol in the air began to decrease. The basic aim of the study was to understand the role of the Big Five model of personality in predicting emotional intelligence and consequently in triggering the entrepreneurial behavior of the employees. The emotional intelligence of the individuals plays a very important role in decision making, enhancement of quality of living, and many other social realms. Hence, the intelligent use of emotions can make or break an individual’s future considering their attitude toward exploiting the entrepreneurial opportunities available. This study has measured the impact of personality traits on emotional intelligence and EI’s role in digital entrepreneurial behavior. The population used in this study was the middle management employees in the corporate sector of the mainland in China. The sample size taken in this study was 260 and selected through convenient sampling. The data was collected through a structured questionnaire measuring each variable. The data collected was employed to SmartPLS 3.3 for analyzing through structural equation modeling to measure the hypotheses. The study has found the partial effect of the Big Five model of personality on emotional intelligence, which significantly predicted the digital entrepreneurial behavior of the employees. The organizations can use the study findings to anticipate the employees’ possible prospects and endeavors regarding their digital entrepreneurial behaviors.

Human influence on the steppe ecosystems of Ukraine caused irreversible loss of biodiversity in the natural zone. Currently, this problem is aggravated by military operations which cover almost half of the steppe zone and are unprecedented in the entire history of their existence. This actualizes the study of vegetation dynamic processes under the influence of the novel anthropogenic factors, and serves as the scientific basis for restoring and preserving steppe vegetation and maintaining its functional stability. The paper highlights anthropogenic changes in vegetation of the Kuyalnik Estuary valley based on long-term comparative phytocenotic surveys and uses of the method of succession series for reconstruction. These changes are representative of the river valleys of the estuaries in the Northern Black Sea region. This work examines vegetation changes induced by runoff overregulation of estuary rivers within the basin, quarrying of sand and limestone, ploughing, grazing, burning, terracing of slopes and their afforestation, excessive mowing of grass stands, and uncontrolled recreation. Subject to the existing anthropogenic impact combined with global climate changes, further vegetation degradation was predicted to occur in the direction of xerophitization and halophitization, reduction in shrubby vegetation areas, degradation of steppe vegetation, and intensification of desertification processes.

Ceftriaxone (CEF) is a safe and multipotent antimicrobial agent that possesses neuroprotective properties. Earlier, we revealed the restoration of cognitive function in OXYS rats with signs of Alzheimer’s disease (AD)-like pathology by CEF along with its modulating the expression of genes related to the system of amyloid beta (Aβ) metabolism in the brain. The aim of this study was to determine the effects of CEF on behavior, Aβ deposition, and associated neuroinflammation using another model of an early AD-like pathology induced by Aβ. Mice were injected bilaterally i.c.v. with Aβ fragment 25–35 to produce the AD model, while the CEF treatment (100 mg/kg/day, i.p., 36 days) started the next day after the surgery. The open field test, T-maze, Barnes test, IntelliCage, and passive avoidance test were used for behavioral phenotyping. Neuronal density, amyloid accumulation, and the expression of neuroinflammatory markers were measured in the frontal cortex and hippocampus. CEF exhibited beneficial effects on some cognitive features impaired by Aβ neurotoxicity including complete restoration of the fear-induced memory and learning in the passive avoidance test and improved place learning in the IntelliCage. CEF significantly attenuated amyloid deposition and neuroinflammatory response. Thus, CEF could be positioned as a potent multipurpose drug as it simultaneously targets proteostasis network and neuroinflammation, as well as glutamate excitotoxicity, oxidative pathways, and neurotrophic function as reported earlier. Together with previous reports on the positive effects of CEF in AD models, the results confirm the potential of CEF as a promising treatment against cognitive decline from the early stages of AD progression.

Brucellosis is one of the most important and widespread bacterial zoonoses worldwide. Cases are reported annually across the range of known infectious species of the genus Brucella. Globally, Brucella melitensis, primarily hosted by domestic sheep and goats, affects large proportions of livestock herds, and frequently spills over into humans. While some species, such as Brucella abortus, are well controlled in livestock in areas of North America, the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem supports the species in native wild ungulates with occasional spillover to livestock. Elsewhere in North America, other Brucella species still infect domestic dogs and feral swine, with some associated human cases. Brucella spp. patterns vary across space globally with B. abortus and B. melitensis the most important for livestock control. A myriad of other species within the genus infect a wide range of marine mammals, wildlife, rodents, and even frogs. Infection in humans from these others varies with geography and bacterial species. Control in humans is primarily achieved through livestock vaccination and culling and requires accurate and rapid species confirmation; vaccination is Brucella spp.-specific and typically targets single livestock species for distribution. Traditional bacteriology methods are slow (some media can take up to 21 days for bacterial growth) and often lack the specificity of molecular techniques. Here, we summarize the molecular techniques for confirming and identifying specific Brucella species and provide recommendations for selecting the appropriate methods based on need, sensitivity, and laboratory capabilities/technology. As vaccination/culling approaches are costly and logistically challenging, proper diagnostics and species identification are critical tools for targeting surveillance and control.

Traumatic brain injury (TBI) is a major public health problem. Here, we developed a novel model of non-invasive TBI induced by laser irradiation in the telencephalon of adult zebrafish (Danio rerio) and assessed their behavior and neuromorphology to validate the model and evaluate potential targets for neuroreparative treatment. Overall, TBI induced hypolocomotion and anxiety-like behavior in the novel tank test, strikingly recapitulating responses in mammalian TBI models, hence supporting the face validity of our model. NeuN-positive cell staining was markedly reduced one day, but not seven days, after TBI, suggesting increased neuronal damage immediately after the injury, and its fast recovery. The brain-derived neurotrophic factor (Bdnf) level in the brain dropped immediately after the trauma, but fully recovered seven days later. A marker of microglial activation, Iba1, was elevated in the TBI brain, albeit decreasing from Day 3. The levels of hypoxia-inducible factor 1-alpha (Hif1a) increased 30 min after the injury, and recovered by Day 7, further supporting the construct validity of the model. Collectively, these findings suggest that our model of laser-induced brain injury in zebrafish reproduces mild TBI and can be a useful tool for TBI research and preclinical neuroprotective drug screening.

Aerosol optical depth (AOD), which represents the optical attenuation, poses a major threat to the production activity, air quality, human health and regional sustainable development of arid and semi-arid areas. To some degree, AOD shows areal air pollution level and possesses obvious spatio-temporal characteristics. However, long-time sequences and detailed AOD information can not be provided due to currently limited monitoring technology. In this paper, a daily AOD product, MODIS-based Multi-angle Implementation of Atmospheric Correction (MAIAC), is deployed to analyze the spatio-temporal characteristics in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region from 2000 to 2019. In addition, the importance of influencing factors for AOD is calculated through Random Forest (RF) Model and the propagation trajectories of pollutants are simulated through Hybrid Single-Particle Lagrangian Integrated Trajectory (HYSPLIT) Model. Spatio distribution of AOD presents a tendency that AOD value in northern Xinjiang is low while the value in southern Xinjiang is high. Regions with high AOD values are mainly concentrated in Tarim Basin. AOD in southern Xinjiang is the highest, followed by that in eastern Xinjiang and AOD value in northern Xinjiang is the lowest. Seasonal variation of AOD is significant: Spring (0.309) > summer (0.200) > autumn (0.161) > winter (0.158). Average AOD value in Xinjiang is 0.196. AOD appears wavy from 2000 to 2014 with its low inflection point (0.157) appearing in 2005, and then increases, reaching its peak in 2014 (0.223). The obvious downward tendency after 2014 shows that the use of coal to natural gas (NG) conversion project improves the conditions of local environment. According to RF Model, NG contributes most to AOD. HYSPLIT Model reveals that aerosol in southern Xinjiang is related to the short-distant carriage of dust aerosol from the Taklimakan Desert. Aerosol there can affect Inner Mongolia through long-distant transport. Blocked by the Tianshan Mountains, fine dust particles can not cross the Tianshan Mountains to become a factor contributing to AOD in northern Xinjiang.
