Background. Under count is a common phenomenon in health systems. One of the methods used for sensitivity identification of care system or identification of cases in registry is capture recapture method. Using two resources, this study aimed to estimate the actual mortality rates of under five-year-old children. Methods. This study was conducted by capture-recapture method (two resources), using the recorded data in death cause systems of the Iranian Ministry of Health and Medical Education (MOHME) and Treatment and Registry Office. The population included all children aged five years in Tabriz, Iran. We also considered all the death cases in the target population from 2020.03.20 to 2021.03.20. The death cases were extracted from two resources and entered into the Microsoft Excel software. After removing duplicate cases with a special formula, we obtained the actual mortality rates using capture-recapture method with 95% confidence interval (CI) and estimated the actual mortality rates and death cases. Results. In 2020, the death rate of under five-year-old children was calculated to be 344 cases (338 to 350 with 95% CI). The sensitivity rate of causal registry system for all death cases in the target population was 43.17%. Also, the mortality rate of under one-year-old children was calculated as 275 cases (271 to 280 with 95% CI). While the sensitivity rate of causal death for the mortality of under one-year-old children was 92.72%, it was 82.28% for the Registry Office. Conclusion. A combination of different software for death information registry and the registration of information in the occurrence location could be efficient techniques to reduce under count registrations. It is believed that better and more reliable information could be obtained on death case numbers through using two lists and capture-recapture method compared to using one of the two resources.

Background and purpose: Physical activity and active lifestyle delay the aging process. A better understanding of the lifestyle and health level of the elderly is useful in designing and prioritizing interventions for chronic diseases. This study aimed at exploring the relationship between lifestyle and health disorders in older adults in Ahvaz, Iran 2020. Materials and methods: In this descriptive-analytical study, 1000 older people were selected by systematic random sampling. Data were collected using Life Style Questionnaire (LSQ), Older People's Quality of Life Questionnaire (OPQOL), and the General Health Questionnaire (GHQ). Data were analyzed in SPSS V22 applying descriptive statistics and analytical statistics (Pearson correlation coefficient or Spearman correlation coefficient). Structural equation modeling using AMOS software was used to test the theoretical model of the research and the validity of the questionnaires. Results: The mean age of participants was 69.5±6.5 years of whom 50.9% were women. Among the population studied 51% were overweight and 23% were obese. Background and Objectives: The study of the demography of aging in developing countries is a relatively new endeavor. This study aims to determine the effect of lifestyle on the quality of life and general health of the elderly in Ahvaz, Iran. Methods: This descriptive survey study was conducted on 1000 older adults aged > 60 years in Ahvaz city in 2020. Data collection tools were a demographic form, the lifestyle questionnaire, the older people’s quality of life questionnaire, and the general health questionnaire. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics (mean, frequency, and percentage) and inferential statistics (Pearson correlation test or Spearman correlation test). The significance level was set at 0.05. To test the conceptual model of the study, Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) was used in AMOS software. Results: All t coefficients for the factorial structure of the study model were greater than 1.96 and, thus, all study hypotheses were confirmed. The results showed that the lifestyle of the elderly had a significant effect on their general health. Conclusion: It is necessary to increase the knowledge of healthy lifestyle in the elderly living in Ahvaz city by using educational programs such as stress management training, healthy nutrition education, and recreational and sports programs.

Background: Being aware of both structure and correct demographic data in each country is essential for the economic, social, political and cultural planning as well as promotion in health indicators. This study is conducted aiming to examine the accuracy of housing census statistics in Iran and Ilam Province in 2006 and 2016. Methods: The census data were extracted from the Statistical Center of Iran. Data prepared based on standard age and sex groups. Whipple and Myers methods were used to assess the accuracy of these data. In addition, in this study, the Whipple index was expanded for all digits. Findings: Whipple indexes were 106.5 and 101.8 for Ilam Province and 111.5 and 104.1 for Iran in 2006 and 2016, respectively. Myers indexes were 1.40 and 4.9 for Ilam Province and 1.6 and 4.8 for total Iranin population in 2016 and 2006, respectively. Conclusion: The study findings were indicative of a very high accuracy of the census data obtaine for Ilam Province and the country in 2016. Due to the high accuracy of the data, this information can be used to advance the countrychr('39')s health development programs.

Attitudes of Women with Disabilities in Tehran toward Childbearing Ali Pezhhan[1] , Parvaneh Afshari[2] Received: 07/07/2018 Accepted: 19/01/2019 Abstract This present study is descriptive and aims to examine the attitudes of women with disabilities who reside in the city of Tehran toward childbearing. The studied population consists of all married women with disabilities in Tehran (1500 people) based on the results of 2017 National Population and Housing Census in Iran. The sampling method was a systematic sampling method and the size of the sample was determined through Cochran formula through which 300 people were selected as the sample of the study. The required data for the Study were collected through questionnaires. Results of the factor analysis have proved that there is no correlation between the measures of any factor with the measures of other factors and any factor has its own impact on the disabled women’s attitude toward child bearing. According to calculations of the Chi-square test, there is a significant correlation between the attitudes of women with disabilities toward childbearing and economic, social and cultural factors. There is also a significant relationship between the attitudes of women with disabilities toward child bearing and the number of their brothers and sisters as well as their family size. There was a significant relationship between the attitudes of women with disabilities toward child bearing and social welfare, circumferential justice and benefiting from social security. Regression results have shown that demographic factors with over 57%, social factors with more than 69%, economic factors with more than 58% and cultural factors with more than 63% have been effective in determining the attitudes of women with disabilities towards childbearing.
