En la villa palentina de Baltanás (España) se ubica un notable conjunto de 374 bodegas excavadas en dos elevaciones adyacentes al núcleo urbano. Durante los últimos años se han implementado diversas acciones promovidas por el Ayuntamiento y la Asociación de Bodegas, con el apoyo de la Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, para proteger, conservar y difundir este valioso patrimonio. Entre estas acciones destacan la declaración del conjunto como Bien de Interés Cultural, la redacción de un Plan Especial, el lanzamiento de una campaña de micromecenazgo, el levantamiento tridimensional planimétrico de parte del conjunto, la investigación del patrimonio inmaterial asociado y la futura elaboración de un plan de conservación preventiva. Estas intervenciones forman parte de una estrategia de conservación sostenible que aprovecha las singulares características del Barrio de Bodegas de Baltanás como laboratorio para experimentar con instrumentos innovadores de gestión del patrimonio cultural.

Background: The value of Sodium-glucose cotransporter-2 inhibitors (SGLT-2 inhibitor) therapy in individuals with heart failure with preserved EF (HFpEF) was unknown until the EMPEROR-Preserved trial. We aimed to assess the proportion of patients with HFpEF that are eligible for empagliflozin therapy within the Colombian Heart Failure Registry (RECOLFACA). Methods: RECOLFACA enrolled adult patients with a HF diagnosis during 2017–2019 from 60 medical centers in Colombia. Criteria of the EMPEROR-Preserved Trial were used to recruit participants. The main outcome was individual eligibility with N-terminal pro-B-type natriuretic peptide (NT-proBNP) criteria, while the secondary outcome was eligibility without NT-proBNP data. Results: RECOLFACA had 799 patients with HFpEF (mean age70.7 ± 13.5; 50.7 % males). According to the major selection criteria of the EMPEROR Preserved Trial, 73.7 % patients would be eligible for empagliflozin therapy initiation when considering the NT-proBNP threshold. The NT-proBNP threshold represented the main determinant of ineligibility in patients with this biomarker measure (13.6 %; n = 16). In patients without NT-proBNP data, the main reasons for exclusion were the diagnosis of symptomatic hypotension or a systolic blood pressure below 100 mmHg (7.5 %), having an eGFR

We present a comparative study of the high-pressure behaviours of the nuclear waste immobilisation materials zirconolite-2M, −4M, –3O, and −3T. The materials are studied under high-pressure conditions using synchrotron powder X-ray diffraction. For zirconolite-2M we also performed density-functional theory calculations. A new triclinic crystal structure (space group P 1¯), instead of the previously assigned monoclinic structure (space group C2/c) is proposed for zirconolite-2M. We named the triclinic structure as zirconolite-2TR. We also found that zirconolite-2TR undergoes a phase transition at 14.7 GPa to a monoclinic structure described by space group C2/c, which is different than the high-pressure structure previously proposed in the literature. These results are discussed in comparison with previous studies on zirconolite-2M and the related compound calzirtite. For the other three zirconolite structures (4M, 3O, and 3T) this is the first high-pressure study, and we find no evidence for pressure induced phase transitions in any of them. The linear compressibility of the studied compounds, as well as a room-temperature pressure–volume equation of state, are also presented and discussed.

We report a joint high-pressure experimental and theoretical study of the structural, vibrational, and photoluminescent properties of pure and Eu3+-doped cubic Y2O3 nanoparticles with two very different average particle sizes. We compare the results of synchrotron X-ray diffraction, Raman scattering, and photoluminescence measurements in nanoparticles with ab initio density-functional simulations in bulk material with the aim to understand the influence of the average particle size on the properties of pure and doped Y2O3 nanoparticles under compression. We observe that the high-pressure phase behavior of Y2O3 nanoparticles depends on the average particle size, but in a different way to that previously reported. Nanoparticles with an average particle size of ~37 nm show the same pressure-induced phase transition sequence on upstroke and downstroke as the bulk sample; however, nanoparticles with an average particle size of ~6 nm undergo an irreversible pressure-induced amorphization above 16 GPa that is completed above 24 GPa. On downstroke, 6 nm nanoparticles likely consist of an amorphous phase.

The interaction between plants and phytophagous arthropods encompasses a complex network of molecules, signals, and pathways to overcome defences generated by each interacting organism. Although most of the elements and modulators involved in this interplay are still unidentified, plant redox homeostasis and signalling are essential for the establishment of defence responses. Here, focusing on the response of Arabidopsis thaliana to the spider mite Tetranychus urticae, we demonstrate the involvement in plant defence of the thioredoxin TRXh5, a small redox protein whose expression is induced by mite infestation. TRXh5 is localized in the cell membrane system and cytoplasm and is associated with alterations in the content of reactive oxygen and nitrogen species. Protein S-nitrosylation signal in TRXh5 over-expression lines is decreased and alteration in TRXh5 level produces changes in the JA/SA hormonal crosstalk of infested plants. Moreover, TRXh5 interacts and likely regulates the redox state of an uncharacterized receptor-like kinase, named THIOREDOXIN INTERACTING RECEPTOR KINASE (TIRK), also induced by mite herbivory. Feeding bioassays performed withTRXh5 over-expression plants result in lower leaf damage and reduced egg accumulation after T. urticae infestation than in wild-type (WT) plants. In contrast, mites cause a more severe injury in trxh5 mutant lines where a greater number of eggs accumulates. Likewise, analysis of TIRK-gain and -loss-of-function lines demonstrate the defence role of this receptor in Arabidopsis against T. urticae. Altogether, our findings demonstrate the interaction between TRXh5 and TIRK and highlight the importance of TRXh5 and TIRK in the establishment of effective Arabidopsis defences against spider mite herbivory.

El objetivo del estudio fue analizar el discurso educativo de la Preparatoria Abierta en función de sus supuestos y omisiones. Se tomaron como fundamento algunas categorías de la pedagogía crítica y se realizó un análisis crítico del discurso aplicado al documento base de la Preparatoria Abierta de la SEP de México. Se llevó a cabo un proceso de codificación por medio del programa Atlas Ti. Se discute sobre el posible papel de la Preparatoria Abierta como discurso educativo contraideológico y como herramienta de transformación social. Se concluye que el discurso educativo de la Preparatoria Abierta implica un conjunto de contradicciones al poseer rasgos del discurso educativo tradicional, así como rasgos contraideológicos, las cuales representan un punto de partida para para la construcción de discursos educativos orientados hacia una educación problematizadora, emancipadora y transformadora.

While the nature of fictional characters has received much attention in the last few years within analytic philosophy, most accounts fail to grasp what distinguishes fictional characters from other fictional entities. In this paper, I propose to amend this deficiency by defining fictional characterhood. I claim that fictional characters are fictional intentional systems, a thesis that I label as FIST. After introducing FIST, I compare it to some rival definitions of fictional characters found in the literature, explaining why FIST is preferable. Finally, I briefly delve into the implications of FIST for other issues related to the nature of fictional characters.

We report a combined experimental/theoretical high-pressure study of Na3Bi(IO3)6 under compression to 11.2 GPa at ambient temperature. Through a combination of single-crystal and powder synchrotron X-ray diffraction, optical absorption measurements and ab initio density functional theory calculations we unambiguously show a first-order pressure-induced phase transition at around 9.5 GPa from the ambient pressure phase, referred to here as α-Na3Bi(IO3)6, to a new crystalline structure referred to here as β-Na3Bi(IO3)6. The triclinic (P-1) to triclinic (P1) phase transition is characterised by a doubling of the primitive cell volume, whereby the crystallographic b-axis doubles in length, and by a decrease in the volume per formula unit of approximately 3 %. The phase transition is also characterised by an indirect → indirect electronic bandgap decrease of approximately 0.1 eV as measured by absorption spectroscopy (3.44(1) → 3.32(1) eV) and calculated via density functional calculations (2.48 → 2.33 eV). We also report the pressure evolution of the crystal lattice parameters and isothermal compressibility tensor of the ambient pressure phase α-Na3Bi(IO3)6, which reveals highly anisotropic compressibility and a bulk modulus of 30.4(7) GPa.

In 2003, 2006–2009, 2014 and 2015, seven oceanographic cruises were carried out on board the Spanish R/V Hespérides in the Cantabrian Margin and the adjacent abyssal plains, covering an area of 219,124 km2. Based on the combined analysis and interpretation of the bathymetric and reflectivity data obtained with multibeam echo sounders (SIMRAD EM12, EM120 and EM1002), and ultra-high-resolution reflection seismic records acquired with the SIMRAD TOPAS PS18 parametric sounder, the mapping of the acoustic facies or echo-character at a scale of 1:1,200,000 has been carried out. Thirty types of echoes have been differentiated and gather into four main groups: Distinct, Irregular, Hyperbolic and Undulated. The echo-character depends on the acoustic response of the shallow sediment and the seabed morphology. Therefore, its analysis and characterization are basic for understanding recent and present-day sedimentary processes.

A fundamental issue related to the understanding of the molecular mechanisms, is the way in which common pathways act across different biological experiments related to complex diseases. Using network-based approaches, this work aims to provide a numeric characterization of pathways across different biological experiments, in the prospect to create unique footprints that may characterise a specific disease under study at a pathway network level. In this line we propose PathExNET, a web service that allows the creation of pathway-to-pathway expression networks that hold the over- and under expression information obtained from differential gene expression analyses. The unique numeric characterization of pathway expression status related to a specific biological experiment (or disease), as well as the creation of diverse combination of pathway networks generated by PathExNET, is expected to provide a concrete contribution towards the individualization of disease, and further lead to a more precise personalised medicine and management of treatment.PathExNET is available at: https://bioinformatics.cing.ac.cy/PathExNET and at https://pathexnet.cing-big.hpcf.cyi.ac.cy/

The NW Iberian margin is a hyperextended continental margin, formed during the opening of the North Atlantic Ocean, where a subsequent partial tectonic inversion has undergone during the Alpine Orogeny. This succession of tectonic episodes determines the magnetic signature of the margin. The Spanish Exclusive Economic Zone Project has carried out seven one-month cruises between 2001 and 2009. To extend and densify the spatial coverage, we have used data from the World Digital Magnetic Anomaly Map. Here, we describe the methodology used for the acquisition and data processing of the magnetic field data. The use of diverse instrumentation, a non-complete external field’s cancelation, and the use of different magnetic core field models, contributed to the total error budget. To reduce it, we have used a leveling algorithm which minimizes all these contributions. Finally, a statistical analysis was applied using crossover residuals, showing a resolution better than 28 nT.

The Pan-Cancer Analysis of Whole Genomes project generated a vast array of data. In this article, the authors describe five different online resources to enable readers to explore and visualize the data.

We report an ab initio study of Sb2S3, Sb2Se3, and Bi2S3 sesquichalcogenides at hydrostatic pressures of up to 60 GPa. We explore the possibility that the C2/m, C2/c, the disordered Im-3m, and the I4/mmm phases observed in sesquichalcogenides with heavier cations, viz. Bi2Se3, Bi2Te3, and Sb2Te3, could also be formed in Sb2S3, Sb2Se3, and Bi2S3, as suggested from recent experiments. Our calculations show that the C2/c phase is not energetically favorable in any of the three compounds, up to 60 GPa. The C2/m system is also unfavorable for Sb2S3 and Bi2S3; however, it is energetically favorable with respect to the Pnma phase of Sb2Se3 above 10 GPa. Finally, the I4/mmm and the disordered body-centered cubic-type Im-3m structures are competitive in energy and are energetically more stable than the C2/m phase at pressures beyond 30 GPa. The dynamical stabilities of the Pnma, Im-3m, C2/m, and I4/mmm structural phases at high pressures are discussed for the three compounds.

DyScO3 is a member of a family of compounds (the rare-earth scandates) with exceptional properties and prospective applications in key technological areas. In this paper, we study theoretically the behavior of DyScO3 perovskite under pressures up to about 65 GPa, including its structural and vibrational properties (with an analysis of the Raman and infrared activity), elastic response, and stability. We have worked within the ab initio framework of the density functional theory, using projector-augmented wave potentials and a generalized gradient approximation form to the exchange-correlation functional, including dispersive corrections. We compare our results with existing theoretical and experimental published data and extend the range of previous studies. We also propose a candidate high-pressure phase for this material.

A study of high-pressure single-crystal X-ray diffraction and luminescence experiments together with ab initio simulations based on the density functional theory has been performed for two isomorphous copper(I) halide compounds with the empirical formula [C8H6Cu2X2N2] (X = Br, I) up to 4.62(4) and 7.00(4) GPa for X-ray diffraction and 6.3(4) and 11.6(4) GPa for luminescence, respectively. An exhaustive study of compressibility has been completed by means of determination of the isothermal equations of state and structural changes with pressure at room temperature, giving bulk moduli of K0 = 14.4(5) GPa and K′0 = 7.7(6) for the bromide compound and K0 = 13.0(2) GPa and K′0 = 7.4(2) for the iodide compound. Both cases exhibited a phase transition of second order around 3.3 GPa that was also detected in luminescence experiments under the same high-pressure conditions, wherein redshifts of the emission bands with increasing pressure were observed due to shortening of the Cu–Cu distances. Additionally, ab initio studies were carried out which confirmed the results obtained experimentally, although unfortunately, the phase transition was not predicted.

We present here an ab initio study under the framework of the Density Functional Theory of the Ca3Y2Ge3O12 garnet. Our study focuses on the analysis of the structural, electronic, dynamic, and elastic properties of this material under hydrostatic pressure. We report information regarding the equation of state, the compressibility, and the structural evolution of this compound. The dynamical properties and the evolution under pressure of infrared, silent, and Raman frequencies and their pressure coefficients are also presented. The dependence on the pressure of the elastic constants and the mechanical and elastic properties are analyzed. From our results, we conclude that this garnet becomes mechanically unstable at 45.7 GPa; moreover, we also find evidence of soft phonons at 34.4 GPa, showing the dynamical instability of this compound above this pressure.

We have studied the behaviour of the cubic spinel structure of FeV2O4 under high-pressure by means of powder X-ray diffraction measurements and density-functional theory calculations. The sample was characterized at ambient conditions by energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy, Raman spectroscopy, and X-ray diffraction experiments. One of the main findings of this work is that spinel FeV2O4 exhibits pressure-induced chemical decomposition into V2O3 and FeO around 12 GPa. Upon pressure release, the pressure-induced chemical decomposition appears to be partially reversible. Additionally, in combination with density-functional theory calculations, we have calculated the pressure dependence of the unit-cell volumes of both the spinel and orthorhombic FeV2O4 crystal structures, whose bulk moduli are B0 = 123(9) and 154(2) GPa, respectively, finding the spinel FeV2O4 to exhibit the lowest bulk modulus amongst the spinel oxides. From experimental results, the same information is herein obtained for the cubic structure only. The Raman modes and elastic constants of spinel FeV2O4 have also obtained the ambient conditions.

The NW Iberian continental margin has a complex structure, resulting from the succession of several rifting episodes close to a ridge triple junction, and a superimposed partial tectonic inversion stage. The wide-ranging physiography matches the diverse tectonic deformation domains related to its evolution. Each deformation domain has a distinctive gravity signal, so the detailed Bouguer anomaly map presented here is a good first approach to the regional study of the whole margin. Moreover, as the presented chart is a complete Bouguer anomaly map (including terrain corrections), its analysis and interpretation can be done in terms of density, geometry and depth variations below the seafloor. This map is mainly based on the dataset obtained during seven one-month surveys carried out in the frame of the Spanish Economic Exclusive Zone project, and also includes two 2 + 3/4D density models illustrating the deep structure of the margin.

En este trabajo se analizan mediante campos potenciales (gravimetría y magnetismo) las estructuras salinas interpretadas previamente en el offshore de la Cuenca de Asturias. Para ello se han realizado los mapas de anomalías y tres modelos en 2+3/4D GRAV/MAG con datos coincidentes con un cubo sísmico 3D adquirido por Repsol en 2008. El análisis cuantitativo de los mapas y la modelización en 2+3/4D ha permitido reinterpretar la estructura del basamento y de las estructuras salinas hasta ajustar la señal GRAV/MAG. Estas modificaciones son significativas por debajo de los niveles de evaporitas, destacando la necesidad de introducir menor cantidad de sal, y una reinterpretación de la geometría del techo del basamento.

La asociación espacial y cinemática entre kink bands en rocas con foliación varisca y cabalgamientos alpinos en el basamento del Sistema Central, permiten deducir que los primeros tienen una edad cenozoica, y no varisca o tardivarisca. Sistemáticamente, la dirección de los ejes de los kinks es subparalela a los cabalgamientos. Se estudian tres afloramientos clave: El Cabalgamiento de Villares de Jadraque, el Cabalgamiento de Valdesotos y el Retrocabalgamiento de El Atazar.

Protein folding is an essential step for protein functionality. In eukaryotes this process is carried out by multiple chaperones that act in a cooperative manner to maintain the proteome homeostasis. Some of these chaperones are assisted during protein folding by different co-chaperones. One of these co-chaperones is HOP, the HSP70-HSP90 organizing protein. This assistant protein, due to its importance, has been deeply analyzed in other eukaryotes, but its function has only recently started to be envisaged in plants. In this kingdom, the role of HOP has been associated to plant response to different cellular, biotic and abiotic stresses. In this article, we analyze the current knowledge about HOP in eukaryotes, paying a special attention to the recently described roles of HOP in plants. In addition, we discuss the recent breakthroughs in the field and the possible new avenues for the study of plant HOP proteins in the future.

Resumen: Se presenta el caso de un paciente de género masculino, de 69 años de edad, con antecedentes de hipertensión arterial y cuadro de disnea de pequeños a mínimos esfuerzos; implante de cardio-resincronizador por bloqueo aurículo-ventricular completo y bajo gasto cardiaco. El ecocardiograma evidenció imagen quística en septum interventricular.El cateterismo cardiaco mostró aneurisma del seno de Valsalva derecho roto que se diseca hacia el septum interventricular dando lugar a un saco de 4 x 3,4 cm el cual deforma el anillo valvular aórtico y produce insuficiencia valvular aórtica severa.Se considera el cierre quirúrgico del aneurisma y el implante de prótesis aórtica biológica, procedimiento que se lleva a cabo con éxito.Se presenta un caso muy poco frecuente de disección del septum interventricular por aneurisma del seno de Valsalva derecho roto. Este tipo no está incluido en la clasificación de estas rupturas de los senos de Valsalva. Abstract: The case is presented on a 69 year-old male patient with a history of arterial hypertension and a clinical picture of dyspnoea on little or minimal effort, as well as an implanted cardiac resynchronization device due to complete atrial-ventricular block and low cardiac output. The echocardiogram showed an image of a cyst in the interventricular septum.The cardiac catheterisation showed a ruptured right sinus of Valsalva aneurysm that was dissected up to the interventricular septum, producing a sac of 4 x 3.4 cm that deformed the aortic valve ring and caused severe aortic valve insufficiency.The procedure for the surgical closure of the aneurysm and the implant of a biological aortic valve was performed successfully.A very rare case is presented of an interventricular septum dissection due to a ruptured right sinus of Valsalva aneurysm. This type is not included in the classification of sinus of Valsalva ruptures. Los viajes de Gulliver, de Jonathan Swift, es una de las obras más conocidas de la literatura universal. Sin embargo, su recepción actual, al menos en España, se produce sobre todo por medio de adaptaciones en las que no se puede apreciar el calado de la obra literaria original. En este estudio se pretende profundizar en el análisis de Los viajes de Gulliver a través de una comparación con Don Quijote, enfocándose en los recursos paródicos: mientras Don Quijote parodia los libros de caballerías, Los viajes de Gulliver parodia los libros de viajes. El principal objetivo de esta comparación no será tanto demostrar una influencia de la obra de Cervantes sobre la de Swift, sino, más bien, iluminar algunos aspectos de Los viajes de Gulliver. Gulliver´s Travels, of Jonathan Swift, is one of the most well-known works in world literature. However, its actual reception, at least in Spain, it´s produced mostly through adaptations in which it´s impossible to appreciate the profundity of the original literary work. In this article, I intend to dig deeply into the analysis of Gulliver´s Travels through a comparison with Don Quixote, focusing on the parodic resources: while Don Quixote parodies the books of chivalry, Gulliver´s Travels parodies travel books. The main goal of this comparison will not be to prove some influence of Cervantes´ work in Swift´s work, but to illuminate some aspects of Gulliver´s Travels.

This research describes a 13-years-long educational and innovative experience which analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of using thematic networks with educational purposes. The above mentioned experience sets the spotlight on the thematic network Criptored, which was founded in 1999 at the Technical University of Madrid. The experience published on this work proves that a thematic network can be not only a good way to spread awareness of quality among specialists but also a good generator of ideas and projects arising with direct educational implications for people’s learning through Internet. This demonstration is based on several different decisions made along the evolution of this project, such as a teaching structure of the information published, content quality management, the creation of brand new content based on both members and non-members of the network and so on. All these features ease the opening of a new thematic network to a heterogeneous target public without detriment to either quality or excellence. The impact and broadcasting of this network in many sectors clearly match its results. In fact, the network shows meaningful impact on universities, research centers, technology and information communications companies in Spain and Latin America, as well as society in general: 243 universities, research centers and associations from 22 countries, 925 network members, 448 free downloadable documents, 14 electronic books, 102 videos, more than 2.500.000 documents delivered in 13 years, etc.

La presente investigación recoge una experiencia de innovación educativa de 13 años de duración que analiza las bondades e inconvenientes de utilizar redes temáticas orientadas a la educación de la ciudadanía. Esta experiencia se centra en la red temática Criptored fundada en 1999 en la Universidad Politécnica de Madrid. La experiencia publicada en este trabajo demuestra que una red temática puede ser no sólo un buen medio para difundir conocimiento de calidad entre especialistas, sino un buen generador de ideas y proyectos derivados con implicaciones formativas directas de la ciudadanía a través de Internet. Esta demostración se fundamenta en una serie de diferentes decisiones en la evolución de este proyecto, como son una estructuración docente de la información publicada, gestión de la calidad de los contenidos, definición de un esquema de difusión y compartición de información, generación de nuevo contenido basado en interacciones de miembros y no miembros de la red, etc., lo que facilita la apertura de una red temática a un público heterogéneo sin perder calidad ni excelencia. El impacto y la difusión de esta red en diversos sectores quedan retratados por los resultados. La red refleja un impacto significativo en universidades, centros de investigación, empresas TIC en España e Iberoamérica y en la sociedad en general: 243 universidades, centros de investigación y asociaciones de 22 países representados, 925 miembros de la red, 448 documentos para libre descarga, 14 libros electrónicos, 102 vídeos y más de 2.500.000 documentos servidos en 13 años.

This article presents a critical assesment of Dennett’s narrative self theory as a personal identity theory. First it is contextualized in regard to the debate on personal identity in the decade of 1980, then Dennett’s theory is presented in the light of Strawson’s analysis of Narrativity, the criticisms received by Dennett’s theory and by narrative theories in general are put in relationship, and finally it is shown how Dennett’s theory could help the actual supporters of narrative identity theories to reformulate their arguments in defense to the received criticisms. Thus I hope to contribute to a better understanding of Dennett’s theory and to claim for its relevance in the actual debate about personal identity in analytic philosophy.

La presente investigación recoge una experiencia de innovación educativa que demuestra la utilidad de las enciclopedias visuales temáticas para la formación académica a través de Internet. Los objetivos de esta experiencia recaen en verificar si es posible crear enciclopedias visuales temáticas que mediante recursos audiovisuales permitan el aprendizaje de aspectos complejos de una manera asequible. Con el interés de obtener datos que permitan comprobar la idoneidad de este tipo de recursos formativos, se construye una enciclopedia visual temática centrada en aspectos de la seguridad de la información y protección de las comunicaciones digitales. Para el diseño de esta enciclopedia se considera una metodología de diseño basada en la definición de una temática de interés, tipo de aprendizaje, formato y calidad de las unidades temáticas, difusión y coste, etc. Esta enciclopedia visual, el proyecto Intypedia, novedoso a escala mundial, está compuesta por lecciones en vídeo de unos 12 minutos y material docente complementario. El lenguaje utilizado permite el correcto seguimiento de las lecciones tanto a expertos en seguridad como internautas en general. Por tanto, la calidad y claridad de estos contenidos se convierten en un valor añadido del proyecto. Los resultados derivados reflejan la utilidad de Intypedia. En 2 años de vida la enciclopedia recibe miles de visitas al mes y se ha convertido en una enciclopedia de referencia en Iberoamérica y en las redes sociales en las que está presente. Algunos de los resultados más importantes son: 232.786 reproducciones únicas de las lecciones, siendo los consumidores principalmente internautas, profesionales y técnicos de España, Iberoamérica y EE.UU.; más de 176.000 documentos descargados, en torno a los 2.100 seguidores uniendo las redes sociales y una visibilidad en Google con más de 40.000 entradas que enlazan al proyecto.

Objetivo: Reportar el primer caso de implante de MitraClip realizado en la costa atlántica. Material y métodos: Paciente femenina de 69 años de edad, con diagnóstico de: cardiopatía dilatada de 10 años de evolución con aumento progresivo de deterioro funcional. Ha presentado edema pulmonar recidivante. Resultados: Se realiza procedimiento de implante del dispositivo. Mediante cateterismo transeptal, se procede a introducir el MitraClip con maniobras del sistema de posicionamiento pasando la válvula mitral guiado por el ETE 3 D y se realiza la captura de ambos bordes de la válvula en el sitio de mayor regurgitación A2/P2 sujetando los bordes por él. Se observa persistencia de la insuficiencia moderada por lo que se coloca un segundo MitraClip en forma satisfactoria. Se realizan las medicines Doppler observando una insuficiencia residual mínima. Se corrobora por la angiografía y el ETE su adecuada implantación. Se considera un éxito pudiendo realizar el implante del dispositivo en forma rápida, adecuada y sin complicaciones. Conclusiones: Se reporta el primer caso de implante de MitraClip para el manejo de la IM severa, en la ciudad de Barranquilla, siendo la segunda ciudad de Colombia, después de Cali, donde se implanta este tipo de dispositivos para el reparo de la insuficiencia mitral severa.

The aim of this paper is to study the use of Spanish and English in the micro-blogging social network Twitter from a contrastive point of view. A quantitative research methodology is applied in order firstly, to identify specific common characteristics of language, organization and content in the medium and secondly, to find eventual differences in the use of a particular language. To carry out the experiment, two corpora were constructed using language data from Twitter, one in Spanish with a total number of 4,027,746 words and another with similar characteristics in English with a total number of 4,655,992 words. From the results obtained, the conclusion is that there are a number of very general discourse and organizational features common to the two corpora under study. It is also concluded that there are some particular characteristics which differentiate the use of English and Spanish in the medium.

El Instituto del Patrimonio Cultural de España es el organismo de la Administración General del Estado dedicado a la conservación, restauración, investigación, documentación y difusión del patrimonio cultural y a la formación especializada Aborda preferentemente intervenciones que suponen innovación y avance en el conocimiento para posteriormente transferirlo a la sociedad a través de cursos, jornadas y publicaciones. En el artículo se exponen los fines del Instituto a partir del Plan Director elaborado en el año 2010, en el que se propone una nueva estructura del Instituto, una revisión de sus funciones y una forma distinta de coordinación con las Comunidades Autónomas y con los otros organismos estatales encargados de la conservación del patrimonio.

The GdPO4 monazite-type has been studied under high pressure by first principles calculations in the framework of density functional theory. This study focuses on the structural, dynamical, and elastic properties of this material. Information about the structure and its evolution under pressure, the equation of state, and its compressibility are reported. The evolution of the Raman and Infrared frequencies, as well as their pressure coefficients are also presented. Finally, the study of the elastic constants provides information related with the elastic and mechanical properties of this compound. From our results, we conclude that monazite-type GdPO4 becomes mechanically unstable at 54 GPa; no evidence of soft phonons has been found up to this pressure at the zone center.

La esteganografía lingüistica es una ciencia que se aprovecha de la lingüistica computacional para diseñar sistemas útiles en la protección y la privacidad de las comunicaciones digitales y en el marcado digital de textos. En los últimos años se han documentado múltiples formas de alcanzar este objetivo. En este artículo se analiza la posibilidad de generar automáticamente textos en lenguaje natural en lengua española que oculten una información dada. Se proponen una serie de hipótesis y se experimenta mediante la implementación de un algoritmo. Las pruebas realizadas indican que es factible utilizar modelos N-Gram y peculiaridades derivadas de la ley de Zipf para generar estegotextos con una calidad lingüistica tal que un lector humano podría no diferenciarlo de otro texto auténtico. Los estegotextos obtenidos permitirán la ocultación de al menos 0,5 bits por palabra generada.

La lingüística computacional puede ser aprovechada junto a la ciencia de la esteganografía lingüística para diseñar sistemas útiles en la protección/privacidad de las comunicaciones digitales y en el marcado digital de textos. No obstante, para poder llevar a cabo tal tarea se requiere de una serie de condiciones que no siempre se dan. En este artículo se investiga si es posible diseñar procedimientos que permitan ocultar información en lenguaje natural utilizando la mínima cantidad de recursos tanto lingüísticos como computacionales. Se propone un algoritmo y se implementa, razonando posteriormente a favor de la utilidad y la seguridad de propuestas de este tipo.

El escritor James M. Barrie, creador del personaje de Peter Pan, tuvo siempre un gran interés por la traducción de sus obras de un medio artístico a otro. Buena prueba de ello es el recorrido que tuvo su personaje más famoso dentro de su propia obra. Desde su nacimiento como personaje secundario en el seno de la novela El pajarito blanco en 1902, pasando por su trasvase al teatro -ya como protagonista- en 1904 y su vuelta al ámbito de la novela en 1911, Barrie se preocupó todavía de realizar una adaptación más, escribiendo un guión para la primera versión cinematográfica de la obra que finalmente fue rechazado por los productores del film. Llevado por ese mismo espíritu de preocupación por la adaptación, en este artículo analizaré las distintas películas que han tratado de llevar al personaje creado por Barrie desde el texto a la pantalla, prestando especial atención al tratamiento que ha recibido Peter Pan en el ámbito español.

Most of the works of James Matthew Barrie, Peter Pan in particular, explore the relationship between the adult's world and the child's one, with the death set in a privileged location, since only the dead children (as his older brother David) are able to remain as children forever. The following pages show the way in which Barrie explored through literature the complex relationship he had with the world of children from which, like all of us, one day he was expelled. We will see that the way he lived this traumatic exile from his childhood made him unable to ever join the adult world in a normal way. At the same time we will see the opposite problem his character Peter Pan suffers, as he is trapped in an eternal child and deprived of all the pleasures of the adult world.

La historia de Roma está marcada por su papel de nieta de viajeros que han acudido a la ciudad eterna como peregrinos, para admirar sus monumentos y obras de arte o como turistas. En este artículo se analizan las distintas etapas de este proceso, desde sus orígenes en la Antigüedad hasta el momento actual, contemplando la relación entre el fenómeno turístico y el patrimonio construido. Porque si el patrimonio ha sido un factor fundamental en el desarrollo histórico del turismo, éste ha determinado en gran medida la forma en que se ha conservado y restaurado aquél. La ciudad de Roma sería hoy muy distinta si no hubiera sido la mayor meta de turismo a lo largo de la historia, lo que ha supuesto una gran amenaza para el patrimonio, pero también una fuente de riqueza para la ciudad y de recursos para su conservación.
