The article describes a technique for calculating the thermal conductivity coefficient of the insulation system. The technique was applied for evaluating new design solutions, developing corrective proposals for optimizing the insulation system design, including the employment of highly heat-conducting materials. The developed tools allow to accelerate the developing process of insulation systems, increase the reliability of the results obtained within introducing new insulation systems, reveal the key elements of the insulation system that determine the possibility of effective increasing heat transfer in the stator winding insulation system of turbo- and hydro-generators.
