La Realidad Aumentada (RA) es un desarrollo tecnológico que posee una eficacia estudiada en contextos educativos superiores. Sin embargo, el estudio de sus potencialidades y dilemas es escasa en la educación preescolar. En esta investigación se realiza una revisión sistemática que permite caracterizar el uso didáctico de la RA en la educación preescolar a través de una búsqueda que abarca su finalidad de aprendizaje, los enfoques pedagógicos, el tipo de RA y los hallazgos significativos en el desarrollo de capacidades. Para ello, se analizaron artículos científicos de las bases de datos de Scopus, ERIC, Dialnet, EBSCOhost y Web of Science aplicando el protocolo PRISMA, el resultado de la depuración arrojó 20 estudios para su análisis. Los resultados evidencian que las finalidades de aprendizaje se enfocaron en las áreas de inglés, comunicación, matemática, expresión artística e integración de áreas. Los enfoques pedagógicos que se aplicaron fueron el aprendizaje constructivista, situado y basado en juegos. El tipo de RA que predominaron fue el nivel 1 (patrón artificial en blanco y negro), el nivel 2 (imagen) y el nivel 3 (entidad 3D) y finalmente se encontró que la RA permite la adquisición de la lengua inglesa, impulsa la alfabetización temprana, mejora las habilidades matemáticas, favorece el desarrollo de las habilidades artísticas, y potencia los aprendizajes de las áreas integradas. Esta identificación permite poner en evidencia la existencia de tópicos de trabajo en un nivel educativo aparentemente poco desarrollado y fijar una línea de investigación educativa en torno a las posibilidades y dilemas que tiene la RA en la infancia.

El Digital Storytelling (DST) es una estrategia digital que tiene un carácter de multiformato, que permite potenciar habilidades narrativas en los estudiantes de diferentes niveles educativos. Se realizó una investigación con el objetivo central de comprobar la mejora de la competencia narrativa después de una experiencia educativa con el uso de un software Sumac Willaquy (Cuento bonito), que permite aplicar la estrategia de DST. El estudio es de enfoque cuantitativo y de tipo preexperimental. Participaron 70 niños de 5 y 6 años de un centro infantil de Perú distribuidos en tres grupos experimentales bajo dos modalidades de intervención en 2D y 3D. Se adaptó un instrumento sobre competencia narrativa infantil para adecuarlo a las características de los niños de cinco años del contexto peruano. Los resultados indicaron que en la medición del postest, los niños obtuvieron mejores puntuaciones en la competencia narrativa con el uso de la versión 3D más que en la versión 2D. En tal sentido se concluye que el DST es más efectivo en su versión de realidad aumentada.

Digital teaching competence is directly related to the knowledge, use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs). Its use in educational contexts and processes seeks to integrate technology and pedagogy. The objectives of this study are to evaluate the level of Digital Teaching Competencies (DTCs) possessed by basic education (BE) teachers in different Peruvian schools and their comparison by competency area, considering sociodemographic factors. The research responds to a quantitative methodological approach. A non-experimental design of a comparative descriptive type was used, and a non-probabilistic purposeful sampling was applied. A total of 3,142 BE teachers participated in the study, including the educational levels of preschool (0–5 years), primary school (6–11 years), and Secondary school (12–16 years), belonging to public institutions located in rural and urban areas of the province of Arequipa (Peru). The instrument developed in the European Framework of Digital Competence, DigCompEdu Check-In, was applied. This instrument aimed to measure teachers’ level of competence in the digital domain. The main results show that a more significant number of teachers present an Integrator competence level (B1), followed by the Expert level (B2), and the Explorer level (A2). Furthermore, low percentages are observed in the most advanced leadership levels, Leader (C1) and Pioneer (C2), in the use of ICTs. The results obtained suggest implementing new strategies to improve DTCs. Based on critical conceptions, technology constitutes an essential tool for education in the twenty first century.

The pedagogical use of AR for language learning in early childhood education is focusing attention on the didactic potential that these resources present at such early ages. The aim of this study was to develop and assess the “Wordtastic Kids” Application (APP) in order to: (a) design, produce, and evaluate a new contextualized AR application for learning English in early childhood education; and (b) know the academic performance of early childhood education students towards learning English using an AR application. The methodology was based on the design of materials and the subsequent realization of the pre-test/post-test evaluation to determine the academic performance of the students. The results show a general increase in the scores obtained in all the pre-test and post-test categories that were addressed using the Wordtastic Kids Application, which proves to be a tool that improves the learning of English vocabulary in pre-school children. Therefore, it can be concluded that AR can be useful for complementing traditional vocabulary learning in children. However, it is important to note that the successful implementation of AR will depend on several factors, such as adequate teacher preparation, the quality of AR content, and the ability of children to interact with technology effectively.

El Digital Storytelling (DST) es una herramienta digital que sirve para desarrollar la creatividad y potenciar las habilidades narrativas en los estudiantes de diferentes niveles educativos. Se realizó una investigación de enfoque cuantitativo de tipo preexperimental en una cuna jardín en Perú con el objetivo central de comprobar la mejora de la creatividad después de la experiencia con la herramienta DST. Participaron 70 niños de 5 y 6 años utilizando la herramienta Sumaq Willakuy (Cuento bonito), un software diseñado para la creación de narrativas digitales para niños de educación infantil. El instrumento aplicado en el estudio es el TCI (Test de creatividad infantil). Los resultados indicaron que existen diferencias significativas entre el pretest y el postest en el puntaje global de la creatividad infantil (PD), especialmente en las variables proceso o producto (PDB) y figuras añadidas (PDC). No se encontraron diferencias significativas en función a la edad y el sexo. Se concluye que el uso del DST ha mejorado la capacidad creativa de los niños. En tal sentido, el DST puede ser aplicada en otros contextos similares para desarrollar la creatividad infantil. .

The aim of this study was to determine the degree of addiction to social networks among students at a Peruvian university. The sample consisted of 3026 students (1768 females, 58.4%; 1258 males, 41.6%) from three different fields of study: social sciences, engineering, and biomedical sciences. Data were collected using the Social Media Addiction Scale–Student Form (SMA–SF), which was previously adapted to the Peruvian context, establishing four dimensions: satisfaction/tolerance, problems, obsession with being informed and need to be connected. Among the results obtained, it is possible to highlight factors that influence the use of social networks, such as, that their use varied according to age, year of university studies, gender, and area of study; in addition, significant differences in gender were observed, with men using them more for various activities and expressing feelings about their use. Engineering and Social Science students were more likely to show feelings towards networks than Biomedical Science students, among others. Students in the 16–20 age range showed greater expressions of feelings about the use of social networks than those in other age ranges.

In educational settings, usability is fundamental as regards attaining training with greater security. In this respect, pedagogic usability refers to satisfaction with the design, navigability and contents of a virtual platform, and was attained via an assessment. The 152 teachers who took part in a training course offered by a Peruvian university were, therefore, evaluated by means of a combined design methodology consisting of a survey and interviews, and the participants expressed a high level of satisfaction with the usability of the online resources provided. One aspect that came to light after this experience had taken place was the importance of considering the participants’ characteristics and motivations when planning this type of training in order to make in-service training possible in these spheres as a means to allow teachers to transfer that training to their pedagogic practice. The satisfactory assessment of the training received online indicates that the participants were not only able to adapt the resources to their needs in an appropriate manner, but that they also acquired higher levels of maturity as regards dominating digital competences and, in synthesis, a constructive interaction with their pedagogic practice.
