Lowvoltage winding leads cause local eddy current losses in top-plate of thetransformer tank. In this paper, this loss component which also causes localhot spots is investigated. Top-plate design is modified using stainless steelnon-magnetic material, around the low voltage bushing holes. Manufacturingissues and cost as well as power losses are considered as main criteria duringmodification study. Magnetic flux distributions and eddy current losses areanalysed and compared for different designs. Comparisons are based on 3D finiteelement simulations and experimental studies. Obtained results show that,insertion of single I-shaped stainless steel plate reduces eddy current lossesaround low voltage bushing holes to nearly zero., Buçalışmada, transformatörlerin kazan kapağı üzerinde alçak gerilim sargılarınınbağlantı uçları sebebiyle meydana gelen ve yüksek sıcaklıklara da neden olaneddy akımı kayıpları incelenmektedir. Bu kayıpların azaltılması amacıyla kazankapağı tasarımı manyetik özellikli olmayan paslanmaz çelik malzeme kullanılarakiyileştirilmektedir. Bu iyileştirme çalışması sırasında imalat koşulları vemaliyet kriterleri de göz önünde tutulmaktadır. Farklı tasarımlar için manyetikakı dağılımları ve eddy akımı kayıpları üç boyutlu sonlu elemanlar yöntemiyardımıyla analiz edilmiş ve deneysel olarak da doğrulanmıştır. Elde edilensonuçlar, kazan kapağı üzerinde alçak gerilim buşinglerinin bağlantı yüzeyininpaslanmaz çelikten imal edilen I-biçimli tek parça levha kullanılaraküretilmesi sonucunda kapak üzerinde meydana gelen güç kayıplarının tamamınayakınının ortadan kaldırılabildiğini göstermektedir.

With increasing population and developing technology in the world, electric vehicles are taking the place of traditional transportation vehicles dependent on limited fossil fuels. Rapid increase in the number of electric vehicles and charging station loads challenges the adequacy and reliability of distribution networks. Since it is not possible to estimate demanding power of electric vehicle charging stations on an hourly or seasonal basis, it has been shown in this study that probabilistic future projections can be made taking into account the measurements of the past years and effects of electric vehicle charging stations on the distribution network's reliability indices (SAIDI, SAIFI) are investigated for these future projections. Topology of distribution system and measurement data used is based on a local distribution network's statistics and measurements. Probabilistic modelling approach used in this study includes usage of the Probability Density Function (PDF) of Weibull distribution, Latin Hypercube Sampling (LHS) method, correlation between the loads and generation of optimum scenarios by applying re-ordering algorithm (ROA) in the context of suitable correlation between loads.

Abstract : Over the last century, the demand for the energy has increased considerably, while the amount of primary energy sources have decreased dramatically. Overall efficiency could reach up to 85-90% with use of Combined Heat and Power Generation (CHP), which could be defined as the synchronous generation of both heat and power. And also, significant amount of fuel savings could be obtained. In this study, fuzzy logic member functions are used and defined for higher efficiency. Buhar türbinli sistemlerin elektrik verimi %35 'i geçememektedir. Buhar türbinli sistemlerde %50 'lik termal enerji kullanılamayarak atmosfere atılmaktadır. Birleşik ısı-güç sistemlerinin çalışma ilkesi atılan bu enerjiden yararlanma ilkesine dayanır. Bu tezde, endüstri tesislerinin, toplu yerleşim bölgelerinin elektrik ve ısı enerjisi ihtiyaçlarının karşılanmasında yaygın olarak kullanılan Birleşik Isı-Güç Sistemleri incelenmiştir. Bora ALBOYACI Key Words : Cogeneration, Combined Heat and Power, Optimization Abstract : In the classical system, an industrial company, which needs both electricity and process heat, provides its electricity demand from a steam boiler found in its own plant area. On the other hand, electricity is usually generated in utulity termal power plants which have approxiametly 35 % efficiency. About 50 % of the termal energy of fuel is rejected to the atmosphere by condenser in steam- turbine power plants and by exhaust gasses in gas-turbine power plants. This loss is the result of the technology used today to generate electricity in termal power plants. In this thesis, combined heat and power systems generally used for the supply of electricity and heating at mass habitation units and industrial complexes have been examined. The system elements, characteristics, advantages and disadvantages of different application types have been reviewed. In this respect, application sampling, calculations taking into considerations economical and technical criteria have been made to determine optimum capacity and type and proporsals in relation to this have been submitted. 106
