In this research, it was examined the role of natural mountain minerals, microelements and vitamins in the diet of quails in the Ganja-Gazak region. The research was carried out on quails raised in private farms as well as Quail Breeding Training Center in the laboratory of the Treatment, Gynecology and Surgery department of the Veterinary Faculty of Azerbaijan State Agrar University. Studies have shown that quails need micronutrients and vitamins for all metabolic functions. The research was carried out on 600 quails and 300 quails were fed with Aydağ zeolite mixture in addition to their feed, while 300 were fed with normal feed. As a result of the experiment, it was determined that the addition of Aydağ zeolite to the feed made a positive contribution to the egg number and quail weight., Bu araştırmada, Gence-Gazak bölgesindeki bıldırcınların diyetindeki doğal dağ mineralleri, mikro elementler ve vitaminlerin rolü incelenmiştir. Araştırma, Azerbaycan Devlet Agrar Üniversitesi Veterinerlik Fakültesi Bıldırcın Yetiştiriciliği Eğitim Merkezinde, Tedavi, Kadın Hastalıkları ve Cerrahi bölümü laboratuvarında, Göygöl ve Şemkir illerindeki özel çiftliklerde yetiştirilen bıldırcınlar üzerinde yürütülmüştür. Yapılan araştırmalar bıldırcınlarda tüm metabolik fonksiyonlar için mikro besinlere ve vitaminlere ihtiyaç olduğunu göstermiştir. Araştırma 600 adet bıldırcın üzerinde gerçekleştirilmiş ve 300 adet bıldırcına yemlerine ilave olarak Aydağ zeolit karışımdan verilirken, 300 adedi normal yem ile beslenmiştir. Deney sonucunda, yeme Aydağ zeolitinin eklenmesinin yumurta sayısı ve bıldırcın ağırlığına olumlu katkı yaptığını tespit edilmiştir.

Nigella sativa L. essential oil is a widely used medicinal plant throughout the world. It is very popular in various traditional systems of medicine like Unani and Tibb, Ayurveda and Siddha. Acute and chronic use of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) is considered a significant cause of peptic ulcers. Different doses (20-60 mg/kg body weight) of thymoquinone (TQ), the main constituent of Nigella sativa L. essential oil, have been shown to protect gastric tissue from NSAID-induced peptic ulcers. Researchers attributed the protective effect of TQ to its antioxidant properties. This study aimed to determine effective antiulcer dose range of TQ. In this study, we conducted a series of experiments to determine the optimal dosage of TQ in indomethacin-induced gastric ulcers in rats. Additionally, we investigated the effect of TQ on superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity, glutathione (GSH) levels, and malondialdehyde (MDA) levels. Our results showed that, when administered at 40 and 20 mg/kg body weight, TQ was ineffective in preventing indomethacin-induced gastric ulcers. Moreover, TQ itself induced gastric ulcers at 40 mg/kg dose. As the doses of TQ decreased, the protective effect increased. 0.5 mg/kg TQ provided the best protection in terms of gastric ulcer area and antioxidant parameters, having statistically the same result with famotidine. Low dose TQ is an efficient protector of indomethacin-induced gastric damage, and it significantly enhances antioxidant parameters of gastric tissue. High dose TQ administration does not produce any desirable effects.

The role of inflammation has been shown in the pathogenesis of epilepsy, while glucocorticoids and adrenaline have anti-inflammatory effects. The aim of the present study was to investigate the effects of adrenaline, prednisolone, and indomethacin on caffeine-induced epilepsy (epileptiform activity) in rats and to examine the mechanism of the pro-epileptic effect of indomethacin. The adrenalectomized rats that had been given only adrenaline (the control group) did not die; however, adrenaline did not prevent the adrenalectomized rats which were given prazosin, phenoxybenzamine, yohimbine, metoprolol, and propranolol from dying. In the rats given propranolol + adrenaline, the rate of death was 100%, while this rate was 50% in the groups receiving prazosin + adrenaline, phenoxybenzamine + adrenaline, and metoprolol + adrenaline. The rate was 75% in the group given yohimbine + adrenaline. Prednisolone increased the degree of convulsion in adrenalectomized rats. Over-reduction in the blood catecholamine level made epileptogenesis more severe. It was observed that adrenaline pressed epileptogenesis via its own receptors (α - 1, α - 2, β - 1, β - 2). It was also revealed that all of the adrenergic receptors were responsible due to antiepileptic activity; β - 2 receptors played the most important role. It was observed that both acute and chronic indomethacin administration reduced the catecholamine levels. The situation in which acute administration of indomethacin did not affect epileptogenesis might originate from the fact that the structure of indomethacin did not significantly increase the corticosterone level.

Peptik ülser tedavisinde kullanılan çok sayıda klasik antiülser ilaç grupları bulunsa da, bu ilaçlarla ülserin kalıcı tedavisi sağlanamamaktadır. 1950'den beri antidepresan ilaçlar non-psikiyatrik bazı hastalıkların tedavisinde kullanılmaktadırlar. Birçok antidepresan ilacın antiülser aktiviteye sahip oldukları deneysel ve klinik çalışmalarla gösterilmiştir. Bu çalışmada moklobemidin antiülser etkilerinin araştırılması ve oksidan mekanizmalarla ilişkisinin belirlenmesi amaçlanmıştır. 10, 20, 40, 80 ve 150 mg/kg dozlarında kullanılan moklobemid ve 20 mg/kg dozunda kullanılan famotidinin antiülser aktivitesi ratlarda indometazin ülserinde incelenmiş ve sonuçlar kontrol grubu ile karşılaştırılmıştır. Moklobemid kullanılan tüm dozlarda indometazin ülserlerinin oluşumunu anlamlı olarak azalttı. Moklobemid, kullanılan bu dozlarda glutatyon (GSH), nitrik oksid (NO) seviyeleri ve süperoksid dismutaz (SOD) aktivitesini kontrol grubuna göre artırırken; malondialdehid (MDA) seviyesi ve myeloperoksidaz (MPO) aktivitesini ise azaltmıştır.Sonuç olarak, antidepresan bir ilaç olan moklobemidin, güçlü bir antiülser ajan olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Moklobemidin antiülser etki mekanizmasında toksik oksidan radikallerin baskılanması ve antioksidan mekanizmaların aktivasyonu rol oynamaktadır. Even though there are many drugs for the treatment of gastric ulcers, these drugs sometimes cannot succeed. Since the 1950s, antidepressant drugs have been used for several non-psychiatric indications. Many antidepressant drugs have been shown experimentally to produce antiulcer activity in various ulcer models. This study aimed to investigate the antiulcer effects of moclobemide and to determine its relationship with antioxidant mechanisms. The antiulcer activities of 10, 20, 40, 80, 150 mg/kg moclobemide and 20 mg/kg famotidine have been investigated on indomethacin-induced ulcers in rats, and the results have been compared with that of the control group. Moclobemide decreased the indomethacin-induced ulcers significantly at all doses used. While used doses of moclobemide increased the glutathione (GSH), nitric oxide (NO) level and superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity, it decreased the malondialdehyde (MDA) level and myeloperoxidase (MPO) activity in stomach tissue when compared to the control group.In conclusion, it is determined that an antidepressant drug, moclobemide is a potent anti-ulcer agent. Inhibition of toxic oxidant radicals and activation of antioxidant mechanisms play a role in its anti-ulcer effect mechanisms. 68
