Abstract

The screw plate for HIP fails due to corrosion, stress and treatment using bone plates cause stress shielding and bone plate loosening. It is advantage to test new design of HIP Implant for HIP joint fracture, since it cannot be tested in vivo on the patient. So Finite Element Analysis is carried to analyze the HIP Implant implanted on the bone. In this investigation stress, strain deformation Methodology of FEM of HIP Implants, Bone-plate model, Three-Dimensional Model of the angle screw plate, meshing of the angle screw plate, were studied. Also, a fractured model of the femur is strengthened by screw plate using screw fixation were also studied in detail The results obtained are for 5mm bone plate deformation, stress and strain on the screw plate is less compared to the deformation, stress and strain. It is concluded that corrosion of implants will affect the mechanical and biomechanical properties of the bone The FE model was validated by comparison with the human femur model. Further investigation is required to study the biomechanics at the bone-screw interface. Abstract

The globe is now in ecological turmoil as a result of the unrelenting increase in global warming. As a result, governments worldwide are committing to decarbonizing the environment, with the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) playing an important role in this effort. Hence, this paper evaluates the nonlinear (asymmetric) impact of natural gas consumption on renewable energy consumption and economic growth in the KSA and the UAE utilizing data stretching from 1990 to 2020. The study also considers other drivers of renewable energy consumption and economic growth, such as trade openness and CO2 emissions. The study utilizes nonlinear autoregressive distributed lag (ARDL) to evaluate these associations. The outcomes of bounds nonlinear ARDL (NARDL), affirm the long-run association between the variables in both countries. The nonlinear results show that positive and negative shocks in natural gas consumption have a negative impact on renewable energy in both UAE and KSA. In contrast, positive and negative shocks in natural gas consumption impact economic growth positively. The study proposed vital policy recommendations based on these results. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

45. Memento 3.0: an enhanced Lifelog search engine for LSC’23

Abstract

In this work, we present our system Memento 3.0 for participation in the Lifelog Search Challenge 2023, which is a successor to the previous 2 iterations of our system called Memento 1.0 and Memento 2.0. Memento 3.0 employs image-text embeddings derived from OpenAI CLIP models as well as larger OpenCLIP models trained on ∼5x more data. Our system also significantly reduces the query processing time by almost 75% when compared to its predecessor systems by employing a cluster-based search technique. We additionally make important updates to the system’s user interface to offer more flexibility to the user and at the same time be better suited to efficiently handle new query types introduced in the Lifelog Search Challenge.

48. MoS2quantum dots and their diverse sensing applications

Abstract

Molybdenum disulfide (MoS2) quantum dots (QDs) are a type of nanomaterial with unique electronic and optical properties. This abstract explores how these dots are made and what they look like, and how they can be used in different kinds of sensing platforms. The review covers their use in gas sensing, biosensing, and environmental monitoring, and explains how MoS2QDs are particularly good at detecting things with high sensitivity and selectivity. By integrating these nanomaterials into sensing devices, we can create new and more effective sensing technologies that can be used in a variety of fields. In addition to their sensing capabilities, MoS2QDs have other advantages too, like being easy to modify, having a stable structure, and being able to change their bandgap. All these things make MoS2QDs adaptable to different sensing platforms, which means they can perform well even in challenging environments. This abstract goes into more detail about the different ways MoS2QDs can be made, how we can study them, and what new developments are happening in the world of sensing technologies. We will also talk about what challenges there are and what the future of MoS2QDs might look like. MoS2, when reduced to a nanoscale, exhibits various applications in the quantum and electronic fields. It is available with both covalent and Van der Waals bonding, allowing MoS2to be utilized in an optimal way for sensing different gases. However, studies related to the sensing characteristics of MoS2are currently insufficient in fields such as optoelectronics, hydrogen testing and evolution, biomedicines, and IOT-based areas. Nevertheless, MoS2can be introduced harmlessly into internal organs as it does not undergo any harmful biological interaction. These numerous features of MoS2make it ideal for use in various sensing approaches.
