Abstract

The author discusses the article "Cardiovascular Complications in Ciguatera Fish Poisoning: A Wake-up Call" which raise the awareness regarding ciguatoxins in Persian Gulf. The authors are critical on the human ciguatera fish poisoning in the Arabian Gulf wherein dinoflagellates are implicated in causing the red tide phenomenon in the Gulf. The outcome of the poisoning causes death of large numbers of fish due to the toxins and depletion of dissolved oxygen.
