Abstract

We investigate the discrete Sturm-Liouville equations. In the present situation, the right hand side of the equation does not give rise to a positive definite quadratic form and we use instead the left hand side to define such a form. We prove in this paper that this form determines a Hilbert space (such problems are called left-definite).

Abstract

In this paper, a numerical scheme so-called modified differential transformation method (MDTM) based on differential transformation method (DTM), Laplace transform and Pad´e approximation will be used to obtain accurate approximate solution for a class of boundary value problems (BVP’s). The MDTM is employed as an alternative technique to overcome some difficulties in the behavior of the solution and to be valid for a large region. The numerical results obtained demonstrate the applicability and validity of this technique. Numerical comparison is made with existing exact solution.

Many properties of gamma functions are known. In this paper, we extend similar properties to incomplete gamma functions. In particular, it is known that . In this paper we find similar results for products of incomplete gamma functions. Since the error functions are a special case of the incomplete gamma functions, we extend these results to these functions.
