- Abstract
Abstract: Silver nitrate has useful antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory effects. However, there are currently no guidelines in place for its use in cauterization and the management of hemostasis. This lack of guidelines has resulted in different approaches being taken in outpatient and healthcare settings, which can lead to a higher risk of adverse effects. The authors present a case that illustrates a classic but exaggerated adverse effect following silver nitrate application., (Copyright © 2024 Wolters Kluwer Health, Inc. All rights reserved.)
