Background: Regular consumption of produce is a challenge for families with young children in low food access areas. Objective: A community partnership formed to evaluate feasibility of and interest in a child care center-based program for produce delivery from an online grocery vendor. Methods: Surveys were collected from caregivers across three child care centers, including produce program participants. Descriptive statistics summarize household characteristics and participants’ experience with the program. Results: Challenges related to online payment and difficulty planning delivery times led to implementation of a modified intervention. Survey results revealed factors related to food access and storage that may impact interest and feasibility of online grocery in some communities. Conclusions: Online grocery vendors may increase acces-sibility to fresh produce for families, but barriers to their use still exist. Trusted community partners such as child care centers may offer some of the resources needed for success.

Global climate conditions and hydrologic processes have changed significantly as a result of climate change, and as long as global warming persists, extreme events will probably more frequently happen. Climate change significantly affects Iraq through variations in air temperature, environment, agriculture and water supply. This study aimed to evaluate the observed period of temperature 19 80–2023 and the Projecting future trends of air temperature for mid and southern Iraq using BNU-ESM, CCSM4, HadGEM2-AO, and MIRIOC5 climate models from CMIP5 under the RCP4.5 and RCP8.5 scenarios during the periods 2016–2035, 2046–2065, and 2081–2100. The findings verified that, in each of the two RCPs scenarios temperature would increase with different levels. the results showed that the temperature anomaly increased to +15.6 °C, and +18.8 °C under RCR4.5 and RCP8.5 in the MIRIOC5 model, especially in the last decade of the twentieth century. The areas of Iraq most impacted by high temperatures are the south and southeast (Basra, Missan, Thi-Qar, and Muthanna) provinces. In the first period, On the other hand, the less effect areas for the temperature increase were (Anbar and northeast of Diyala) +2.4°C, and +4.4°C for HadGEM2-AO model under RCR4.5 and RCP8.5 respectively. Through all periods, CCSM4, and MIRIOC5 models were the most identical in results. The findings can aid in the evaluation of future drought risks in Iraq by policymakers. Developing suitable adaptation techniques to counter act climate change can also be beneficial.

Photovoltaic-thermal (PVT) concept is a novel methodology to lower the PV module temperature and consecutively produce thermal and electrical energies. This study assesses the thermal and electrical advancements of a PVT system using iron oxide (Fe2O3) single nanofluid and titanium oxide-iron oxide (TiO2-Fe2O3) hybrid nanofluid at 0.2 % and 0.3 % concentrations. The PVT energy and exergy efficiencies were presented and analyzed concerning the effect of proposed single and hybrid nanofluids. Study findings disclosed that dispersing 0.3% of TiO2- Fe2O3 nanocomposites into water has enhanced the nanofluid thermal conductivity, improving the Nusselt number by 90.64 %, while Fe2O3 nanoparticles achieved 31.75 %. Furthermore, employing TiO2- Fe2O3-based nanofluid at 0.3 % has enhanced the PVT electrical efficiency by 13 % and, thermal efficiency by 44 % compared to Fe2O3-based nanofluid, which exhibited 12 %, and 33 %, respectively. Besides, the PVT electrical exergy efficiency was augmented by about 13 % using TiO2-Fe2O3-based hybrid nanofluid, against 11 % using Fe2O3 nanofluid. Reversely, the pressure drop was increased by a maximum of 62.9% when TiO2- Fe2O3 was applied due to the raised nanofluid density compared to the reference base fluid. Conclusively, hybrid nanofluid has a superior influence on the PVT performance than single nanofluids. However, further investigations are required to explore cost-effective hybrid nanofluids with a low pressure drop.

Climate change has significant impacts on natural systems, especially in terms of altering hydrological patterns due to changing precipitation and melting snow and ice. This study examines projected changes in precipitation for central and southern Iraq under the RCP4.5 and RCP8.5 scenarios for the periods 2046–2065 and 2081–2100 using CMIP5 climate model HadGEM2-AO output. The results revealed that under RCP4.5, there was large spatial variation in the projected precipitation over the region during 2064-2065, ranging from as low as 27 mm in western part to as high as 1541 mm in the eastern part. The spatial variability as well as precipitation amount decreased considerably during 2081-2100 periods. Under RCP8.5 the projected precipitation was only 14-164 mm in 2046-2065 and 36-532 mm in 2081-2100 periods. Thus, under RCP8.5 scenario anticipated precipitation will be quite low.

The aim of this mini-review is to compare the effectiveness and potential of solar cells and hydrogen fuel technologies in clean energy generation. Key aspects such as efficiency, scalability, environmental footprint, and technological maturity are examined. Solar cells are analyzed for their ability to convert sunlight into electricity efficiently and their potential for widespread deployment with minimal environmental impact. Hydrogen fuel technologies are assessed based on their efficiency in hydrogen production, scalability, and overall environmental footprint from production to end use. The review identifies significant challenges, including high costs, infrastructure needs, and policy requirements, as well as opportunities for innovation and market growth. The findings provide insights to guide decision-making towards a sustainable energy future.

The Qalandariyya is a prominent cult within Islamic mysticism and Sufism. Due to the diversity of the Qalandari lifestyle, the existence of both positive and negative aspects, and the apparent and hidden contradictions within the cult and its poetry, many theoretical, social, and behavioral dimensions of the Qalandariyya remain unexplored. This paper employs a documentary approach and utilizes the theory of conceptual metaphor to examine the multiple abstract concepts of the Qalandariyya cult as reflected in Persian literature. By mapping and aligning the source and target domains of three conceptual metaphors: "Qalandar is free", "Qalandar is a fighter", and "Qalandariyya as a social and secret system", the study reveals that although Qalandars perceive themselves as liberated from all attachments, in practice, they are bound by self-created customs and traditions. This group often attempted to bring about change in the insincere society of their time through cultural and subversive struggle, sometimes resorting to armed conflict. The Qalandariyya possessed a complex, intricate, and open cultural system with its own set of rules, meeting centers, goals, and symbols. The Qalandariyya, which was considered an extreme offshoot of the Malāmatiyya cult, was always depicted in Persian literature with both positive and negative connotations. The conceptual metaphor, which establishes a link between abstract concepts and tangible matters and concrete experiences, can serve as a valuable tool for understanding certain unexplored aspects of this cult.

Nitrogen behavior across multimedia environment like Tigris River is complex process resulting in a number of interactions of the biogeochemical processes. A solid understanding of the interacted processes is critical to evaluate river system performance. Inorganic nitrogen including ammonium ion (NH4+), free ammonia (NH3), total ammoniacal nitrogen (NHx), nitrite (NO2−), nitrate (NO3−), total oxidized nitrogen (NOx), and total inorganic nitrogen (TIN) in Tigris River were examined from April 2018 to March 2020. A simple system model was implemented to simulate and to help interpret the trend of inorganic N forms based on datasets collected from the river system. It is indicated that the obtained results revealed that the dynamic model was able to represent and predict NHx and NOx behavior in Tigris River. Root mean squared errors between actual and predicted concentrations for NHx and NOx were 0.053 and 0.312 g m−3, respectively. Modeling analysis confirmed the steady-state dynamics of NHx and NOx over the course of the study. Average concentration for NHx was 0.37 ± 0.05 g m−3, while mean value of NOx levels was 2.18 ± 0.33 g m−3 in the Tigris river water. The results from this study also supported by the changes of the water budget, chemical oxygen demand, pH, dissolved oxygen, electrical conductivity, and water temperature in the river system. The results suggest that the microbial mechanisms are the principal N transformation processes in the river system. Findings presented in this research could help to improve conceptual understanding of N behavior in Tigris River, and therefore could assist decision makers to select best management practices and to develop mitigation strategies to sustain water quality in Tigris River.

Background: Chronic kidney disease is a condition that results from an indefinite change in the structure and function of the kidneys. A slow, steady progression characterizes it and is irreversible. Objectives: This study aims to evaluate the findings of certain biochemical and hematological tests in samples from Iraqi CKD patients. Methods: This study included 90 subjects, where 70 patients with chronic kidney disease and 20 healthy individuals. Blood samples were collected from the patients during their visits to Ghazi Al-Hariri Surgical Specialties' Hospital- Medical City, Baghdad, Iraq. Age, sex and body mass index were assessed for each participant followed by renal function tests [serum blood urea, creatinine, uric acid and estimated glomerular filtration rate], and complete blood count. Many researchers are currently investigating carbon dioxide capture and storage since it is suppressing the global warming phenomenon. Aqueous carbon dioxide chemical absorption is the most effective method. The present study incorporates the applicability and performance of blended alkanol amine solutions monoethanolamine (MEA) with diethylenetriamine (DETA) as a chemical blended absorbent investigated in a pilot scale column packed randomly with Rashing rings. The effect of operating conditions on absorption performance was examined. The performance investigation is given in terms of the overall mass transfer coefficient and carbon dioxide capture efficiency (ƞ). Typically, DETA: MEA with a mass ratio of 1:1 and total mass concentration of 30 % wt. could provide the highest KGav with a value of 0.1572 (kmol/(m3*Kpa*hr)) and ƞ with a value of 98.79 %. While at the same condition in terms of liquid and gas rate, with DETA: MEA in the blending mass ratio 0.25:1, the KGav and ƞ values equal to: 0.1198 (kmol/(m3*Kpa*hr)) and 96.37%, respectively. Based on these findings, it is reasonable to assume that diethylenetriamine, a solution of alkanol amines, would serve as an efficient blending absorbent for carbon dioxide removal.

This study was an attempt to examine the effect of using cooperative learning strategies on learning simple present and present continuous by elementary Iraqi EFL learners. For this purpose, 60 Iraqi EFL students of the seventh grade (first grade of high school) from two intact classes were selected from among the female Iraqi high school students studying in Maysan, Iraq. They attended the pre-test of the target grammar points. Then, the treatment started and continued for 12 sessions. In the experimental group, first the teacher assigned the students into 6 groups including 4 to 6 members and asked them to do the grammar exercises cooperatively in groups while in the control group, the students did the exercises individually, on their own. The teacher of both groups was the same; so, she tried not to have any peer or group practice in the control group. The treatment lasted for about 3 months. Then, the same test of the target grammar points was administered as the post-pest and the participants’ performance on the pre-test and post-test was compared in order to see which group performed better after the treatment. The results indicated the outperformance of the experimental group who used cooperative techniques for learning simple present and present continuous over the control group. Findings offer implications for Iraqi English language teachers and material designers regarding using communicative tasks and activities like cooperative learning techniques in their classes.

Rainfall trend analysis is essential for managing water resources, agriculture, disaster management, and climate change research. The current study aims to examine annual rainfall variability and trend over 38 meteorological stations in Iraq during the period (1980-2021) using three tests: linear regression analysis (LRA), Mann-Kendall (MK), and the innovative trend analysis (ITA). The results of the three different tests showed that most stations recorded a decreasing trend except for four stations in ITA, six stations in MK, and seven stations in the LRA test, which exhibit a positive trend. However, three stations, Emaidyah, Rabiah, and Biji, showed an increasing trend for all three tests. The ITA test recorded more significant results (14 stations) than the other two tests. The larger significant result appeared in the significance level of 95 % (nine in LRA, eight in MK, and five in ITA). The outcomes of the three trend-detection approaches by assessing the statistical significance levels, 90 %, 95 %, and 99 %, revealed no significant trend in 16 stations dispersed throughout the various climatic zones of Iraq. Only Emadiayah station indicated a positive trend at the significance of 99 %. The overall results showed that the ITA test outperformed the MK and LRA tests since it produced more significant results.

Objectives This study aims to assess the feasibility to perform transoral robotic surgery (TORS) with a new robotic platform, the Versius Surgical System (CMR Surgical, UK) in a preclinical cadaveric setting in accordance to stage 0 of the IDEAL-D framework.Design IDEAL stage 0 preclinical assessment of the Versius Robotic System in TORS in human cadavers.Setting All procedures were performed in a simulated operating theatre environment at a UK surgical training centre.Participants 11 consultant head and neck surgeons from the UK, mainland Europe and the USA took part in TORS procedures on six human cadavers.Interventions 3 key index procedures were assessed that represent the core surgical workload of TORS: lateral oropharyngectomy, tongue base resection and partial supraglottic laryngectomy.Main outcome measures The primary outcome was the successful completion of each surgical procedure. Secondary outcomes included the optimisation of system setup, instrumentation and surgeon-reported outcomes for feasibility of each component procedural step.Results 33 cadaveric procedures were performed and 32 were successfully completed. One supraglottic laryngectomy was not fully completed due to issues dividing the epiglottic cartilage with available instrumentation. Surgeon-reported outcomes met the minimal level of feasibility in all procedures and a consensus that it is feasible to perform TORS with Versius was reached. Available instrumentation was not representative of other robotic platforms used in TORS and further instrument optimisation is recommended before wider dissemination.Conclusions It is feasible to perform TORS with the Versius Surgical System (CMR Surgical) within a pre-clinical cadaveric setting. Clinical evaluation is needed and appropriate with the system. Further instrument development and optimisation is desirable.

This study was aimed to investigate the trends in (11) thermal bioclimatic indicators throughout Iraq's various climates to better understand their spatiotemporal variations in different climates. All bioclimatic indicators have been calculated from daily ERA5 datasets of temperature extracted from 361 grid points covering Iraq. This data set covers global coverage of monthly temperatures from 1980 to 2022, with a spatial resolution of (0.25°x0.25°). Eleven thermal bioclimatic indicators were subjected to the Mann-Kendall (MK) test in order to measure trends in a single direction, without taking into account the influence of natural cycles. The findings showed that the majority of Iraq's thermal bioclimate indicators had changed. implying that rising temperatures have had a significant influence on the country's bioclimate. The annual mean temperature data revealed that Iraq had a considerable increase in Bio1 of (0.28 to 0.48) °C/decade, which is more than the )0.15( °C/decade worldwide average. The rise was found to be significantly greater in Iraq's northern and eastern regions. The analysis suggested that the diurnal temperature range decreased in most regions of Iraq, especially in the southern and northeastern sections. The maximum temperature increased most dramatically in the warmest quarter, whereas the changes in the coldest quarter were less noticeable, showing an increase in climatic extremes in Iraq. The study unequivocally shows that climate change is leading to an increase in the mean temperature, specifically during the warmest months of the year.

Background: Assessment of communicable diseases surveillance officers is one of the important aspects of the detection of obstacles that prevent the development of surveillance system, which would certainly affect their control programs. Objectives: To assess the Competencies of communicable diseases' surveillance officers in all Iraqi provinces Subjects and Methods: A cross sectional study from the15th March to 30th September 2019 in which all the communicable diseases' surveillance officers (136) that are employed by Ministry of Health all over Iraq were included. A structured questionnaire developed by the researcher and filled by them. The questionnaire form gathered demographic data, service characteristics and status of competencies including basic epidemiology, biostatistics, surveillance, outbreak investigation, rapid response to health incidence and developing scientific reports. Results: The response rate was 85.3%, about half of surveillance officers was responsible for less than 10 Primary Health Care Centre. More than half of them (55.3%) were responsible for 1-2 hospitals. Their age ranged between 21 and 62 years and the males constituted more than three quarters (78.4%) of the study sample, Diploma was the highest educational certificate. 15.6% of the sample did not attend any training activity. Cholera has been the most frequently reported incident (53.8%). Conclusions: The surveillance system in Iraq at district level was operated mainly by low qualified and under-trained health personnel. There is inequity in distribution of workload and training sessions between surveillance officers in health offices, therefore redistribution is recommended. Supporting continuous training programs with increase incentives.

Background: The circadian rhythm involves numerous metabolic processes, including sleep/awakening, body temperature regulation, hormone secretion, hepatic function, cellular plasticity, and cytokine release (inflammation), that appear to have a dynamic relationship with all the processes above. Studies have linked various cytokines to the chronic state of low-grade inflammation and oxidative stress in obesity. Dawn-to-dusk dry fasting (DDDF) could alleviate the adverse effects of obesity by decreasing inflammation. This study examined the effects of DDDF on circulating inflammatory cytokines in subjects with increased body mass index (BMI). Methods: The current observational prospective study included adult subjects with a BMI equal to or greater than 25 kg/m2 who practiced the annual religious 30-day DDDF. Individuals with significant underlying medical conditions were excluded to limit confounding factors. All subjects were evaluated within two weeks before 30-day DDDF, within the fourth week of 30-day DDDF, and within two weeks after 30-day DDDF. Multiple cytokines and clinical health indicators were measured at each evaluation. Results: Thirteen subjects (10 men and three women) with a mean age of 32.9 years (SD = 9.7 years) and a mean BMI of 32 kg/m2 (SD = 4.6 kg/m2) were included. An overall associated decrease in the levels of multiple cytokines with DDDF was observed. A significant decrease in the mean interleukin 1 beta level was observed within the fourth week of 30-day DDDF (P = 0.045), which persisted even after the fasting period (P = 0.024). There was also a significant decrease in the mean levels of interleukin 15 (IL-15) (P = 0.014), interleukin 1 receptor antagonist (P = 0.041), macrophage-derived chemokine (MDC) (P = 0.013), and monokine induced by interferon gamma/chemokine (C-X-C motif) ligand 9 (P = 0.027) within the fourth week of 30-day DDDF and in the mean levels of fibroblast growth factor 2 (P = 0.010), interleukin 12 p40 subunit (P = 0.038), interleukin 22 (P = 0.025) and tumor necrosis factor alpha (P = 0.046) within two weeks after 30-DDDF. In terms of anthropometric parameters, there was a decrease in mean body weight (P = 0.032), BMI (P = 0.028), and hip circumference (P = 0.007) within the fourth week of 30-day DDDF and a decrease in mean weight (P = 0.026), BMI (P = 0.033) and hip circumference (P = 0.016) within two weeks after 30-day DDDF compared with the levels measured within two weeks before 30-day DDDF. Although there was no significant correlation between changes in weight and changes in circulating inflammatory cytokines, there was a significant positive correlation between changes in waist circumference and changes in specific inflammatory cytokines (e.g., IL-15, MDC, platelet-derived growth factor, soluble CD40L, vascular endothelial growth factor A) within the fourth week of 30-day DDDF and/or two weeks after 30-day DDDF. A significant decrease in mean average resting heart rate within the fourth week of 30-day DDDF was also observed (P = 0.023), and changes between average resting heart rate and changes in interleukin-8 levels within the fourth week of 30-day DDDF compared with baseline levels were positively correlated (r = 0.57, P = 0.042). Conclusion: DDDF appears to be a unique and potent treatment to reduce low-grade chronic inflammation caused by obesity and visceral adiposity. Further studies with more extended follow-up periods are warranted to investigate the long-term anti-inflammatory benefits of DDDF in individuals with increased BMI.

Abstract This article explores the research question: ‘What are ChatGPT’s human-like traits as perceived by society?’ Thematic analyses of insights from 452 individuals worldwide yielded two categories of traits. Category 1 entails social traits, where ChatGPT embodies the social roles of ‘author’ (imitating human phrasing and paraphrasing practices) and ‘interactor’ (simulating human collaboration and emotion). Category 2 encompasses political traits, with ChatGPT assuming the political roles of ‘agent’ (emulating human cognition and identity) and ‘influencer’ (mimicking human diplomacy and consultation). When asked, ChatGPT confirmed the possession of these human-like traits (except for one trait). Thus, ChatGPT displays human-like qualities, humanising itself through the ‘game of algorithms’. It transcends its inherent technical essence and machine-based origins to manifest as a ‘semi-human’ living actor within human society, showcasing the emergence of semi-humans. Therefore, researchers should redirect their attention towards the ‘sociology of semi-humans’ (studying their socio-political traits) beyond the ‘biology of semi-humans’ (examining their technical traits). While medieval society was captivated by mythical semi-human beings (e.g. mermaids), modern society finds itself increasingly captivated by computational semi-human beings like ChatGPT. Ethical concerns arise as semi-humans impersonate human traits without consent or genuine human existence, blurring the boundaries between what is authentically and artificially ‘human’.

In our previous paper, a novel heat exchanger concept, the so-called internally channeled tube (ICT) was suggested, based on a tubular geometry fitted with specially designed curved channels along the tube length. The enhanced heat transfer in the ICT results from extended surface area between two contacting fluids. To facilitate industrial application, ICT design methods must be developed. This work provides new equations for thermo-hydraulic characterization of ICT under turbulent flow conditions. In particular, new friction factor and Nusselt number correlations are derived based on the validated CFD simulations performed over a wide range of Reynolds numbers and geometrical parameters.

Currently, a new set of asymmetrical dimeric molecules with a Schiff-base at one end and a chalcone alkali substitution by di-ether are made and their liquid crystal and fluorescence properties are investigated. The proposed chemical structure was confirmed by routine analytical methods using FT-IR and NMR spectroscopy. Additionally, polarized optical microscopy (POM); was used to assess the pointed compounds' liquid crystalline characteristics, while differential scanning calorimetry (DSC); was employed to confirm the compounds' transitions. The results report the length of the alkali chain at one end of the molecule is critical to the creation of the mesophase type. Compounds with medium-length chains exhibit nematic mesophases with moderate transition temperatures. The fluorescence of compounds was analyzed, with blue-emitting results indicating the presence of blue-light-emitting features. The 10a had higher ɛ; as well as red-shifted λmax; and Fmax; compared to the others and has blue light emission properties. Eventually; the expanding range of possible uses to include OLED material and fluorescent probes for sensing applications.

The study aims to conduct an assessment of desertification in the marshlands of southern Iraq by using eight soil indicators. The study area is part of the governorates of Amarah, Basrah and Nasiriyah, with an area of about 27,989 km2. The Mediterranean model of desertification and land use model (MEDALUS) was adopted for the assessment of the soil quality indicators. Satellite image processing of Landsat images and ArcGIS v.10.7 programs were used to analyze different data and produce the soil quality index and maps for evaluating marshes area desertification. This study found that the marshes area is divided into two categories. The first category represented about 3.52%, covering a small area of 984 km2 and classified as non-sensitive to desertification. While the second category represents about 96.48%, covers most of the study area and involves 27.005 km2 and consider sensitive to desertification.

Abstract This research aims to attain the optimal method of removing the high salinity concentrations without its effect on the balance or accuracy of stable isotopes measurement of deuterium and oxygen-18 (δ18O, δ2H). Four treatment methods (i.e., distillation, vacuum distillation, electro dialysis and ion exchange) were applied for nine samples, which were obtained from different water sources (sea, groundwater, river).l Worth to notice that the samples have Electrical Conductivity (EC) ranged (1000–60,000 µs/cm). Liquid–Water Isotope Analyzer used to measure the isotope concentration of δ18O, δ2H. The research findings of the four applied methods revealed their effectiveness with various percentages (normal distillation: 92.37%; vacuum distillation: 88.31%; electro dialysis: 94.85%; ion exchange: 99.62%). In addition, the investigation was conducted a clear correspondence measurement of (δ18O, δ2H) isotopes before and after treatment. The four methods results indicated that samples with EC ranged (1000–5000 µs/cm) have no effect on stable isotope readings. Whereas, samples with EC higher than 10,000, have substantial influence on the stable isotope readings. Finally, vacuum distillation method attained the best results among the treatment methods for EC ranged (10,000–60,000 µs/cm) without affecting the isotopic content of (δ18O, δ2H). There is a clear correspondence of the stable isotopic measurements before and after treatment, for all the selected samples.

The so-called internally channeled tube (ICT) is an innovative heat exchanger design proposed in our recent publications based on a channels-in-tube principle. A general, three-dimensional numerical model was suggested to describe fluid dynamics and heat transfer in the ICT. This model has already been validated for turbulent flow. The current paper presents an experimental investigation of the ICT and the model validation under laminar flow conditions. The experimental set-up and measurement procedure are given in detail and the maldistribution issue is addressed. The deviation between simulated and measured values is below 11% for the pressure drop and below 8% for the wall and bulk temperatures. Furthermore, the ICT performance was evaluated using performance evaluation criterion (PEC) including both heat transfer rate and pressure drop. Enhanced heat transfer in the ICT surpasses the associated pressure drop increase, yielding a PEC greater than one.

Two field experiments were conducted during the spring season 2020 in Karbala governorate, to study the effect of sprinkler and surface drip irrigation systems to determine water consumption of potatoes and irrigation intervals using polymers and bio-fertilizers in desert soils. The experiment included three factors: 1-Irrigation system surface drip T1 and sprinkler T2, 2- The Irrigation interval: every 2 days I1, 4 days I2 and 6 days I3, 3- Addition of soil conditioners: control without any addition C, bio-organic fertilizers (seek) B, polymer (zeba) P, and polymer+ bio-organic fertilizers P+B. The experiment was designed according to the nested design with three replicates. Potato tuber class (Hermosa) rank E was planted. The results showed that the operating pressure of 50-150 kPa was drip and sprinkler irrigation, respectively. Irrigation interval treatment I1 also obtained the lowest added water depth of 212.64 and 486.70 mm at the drip and sprinkler irrigation systems, respectively. Moreover, the actual consumptive use ETa values ​​for irrigation interval I1, I2, and I3 at drip irrigation were 276.44, 428.31, and 593.04 mm, respectively. Though at sprinkler irrigation were 550.50, 959.46, and 1385.08 mm for irrigation intervals I1, I2, and I3, respectively. The highest values ​​of crop coefficient at tuber formation and filling stage were 0.66, 0.79, 1.06, 1.86, 3.42, and 4.73 for the irrigation interval I1, I2, and I3, respectively, at the drip and sprinkler irrigation systems.

Corrosion is one of the most important problems that face the petroleum industry, both production and refining, and cause damage to petroleum equipment, tanks, and transmission lines, and increasing maintenance costs. in this study , was adding six concentrations of the drug expired Cefoperzone (Exp CEF) (50, 100, 200, 300, 400, and 500 ppm) to a Simulated Oil Well Water (SOWW), the inhibitive role of (Exp CEF) drug was investigated to Reduce the corrosion risk of carbon steel. Four different temperatures were used to conduct electrochemical tests (303, 313, 323 and 333 K) to achieve the study. The study was then supported by an examination of the inhibited surface using field emission scanning electron microscopy with energy dispersive (FESEM) and (AFM). The results indicated occurring the inhibition by an anodic inhibitor that controls the dissolution of iron from steel gave the highest inhibition efficiency (IE%) by adding 500 ppm, while the calculation of polarization resistance (Rp) gave the highest resistance by 400 ppm through adsorption the added drug to show flakes shaped structures with decreasing surface roughness (Ra ) from 307.1 to 83.15 after inhibition. The calculation of adsorption isotherm confirmed the obeying of Langmuir adsorption isotherm by giving the coefficient of linear regression was about one in the range of 0.999 > R^2 > 0.995, with the spontaneous adsorption that estimated from the negative values of 〖∆H〗_ads^o and variation in the type of adsorption to be physically or chemically according to the added concentration because of the differential sign of 〖∆H〗_ads^o . The sign of 〖∆H〗_ads^o was positive that reflecting the increase in randomness at the metal/solution interface.
