An examination and study were carried out in order to investigate the beneficial advantages of Drimia maritima aqueous and hydroalcoholic extracts (DmAE/DmHE). The chemical profile was determined using rapid ultrahigh performance liquid chromatography–electrospray ionization tandem mass spectrometry analysis, revealing the presence of 31 bioactive components. Four different methodologies were employed to conduct a series of antioxidant testing. The DmAE and DmHE have exhibited a noteworthy antioxidant capacity, as evidenced by their significant half maximal inhibitory concentration values across several activities, comparable to the performance of DmAE. However, D. maritimia does not exhibit any reduction in power activity. Furthermore, a notable suppression of the critical enzyme (urease), which serves a role in various health conditions, including hyperpigmentation and pathological functional abnormalities, was discovered for the first time. A significant inhibition of the urease enzyme was observed for DmAE at a value of 122.04 ± 1.42. D. maritima had strong sun protection properties and demonstrated effective anti-inflammatory effects. The pharmacological activities of DmAE and DmHE were also conducted in vivo using analgesic and anti-inflammatory tests, and the oral toxicity was determined in accordance with the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development 425 Guideline. Intoxication symptoms were not observed in any of the treated animals following oral administration of DmAE and DmHE at 2,000 mg/kg. Conversely, the oral administration of DmAE and DmHE at varying concentrations inhibits the development of paw edema at different concentrations, which results in a substantial reduction in the acetic acid-induced writhing test. Chemical and spectroscopic investigation of D. maritima flowers resulted in the isolation of sucrose, and it was never isolated in this plant species and Scilliphäosidin-3-O-β-d-glucoside, using proton nuclear magnetic resonance and carbon 13 nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy. As indicated by these findings, D. maritima has the potential to be utilized in a wide range of applications, including as a nutritional supplement, as an alternative treatment for a variety of physiological conditions and pathologies, and as a preventive and healing agent.

In this research, the study utilized the root, leaf, and petiole parts of in vitro grown Salvia hispanica plants as explants. Following UV‐C treatment applied to developing callus, methanol extracts were obtained and analyzed using liquid chromatography–mass spectrometry (LC/MS) to investigate their anticancer properties. First, the seeds of S. hispanica were soaked in commercial bleach for 6 min to ensure surface sterilization. The most effective antimicrobial activity on Gram‐negative bacteria, with a zone diameter (11 ± 0.82 mm), was noticed in callus extracts obtained from the petiole explant in the second protocol against Klebsiella pneumoniae EMCS bacteria. Anticancer activities on SH‐SY5Y human neuroblastoma cells were investigated by using 1000, 500, 250, 125, 62.5, 31.25, 15.62, and 78.12 μg/mL doses of the extracts, and the most effective cytotoxic activity was determined at the 1000 μg/mL dose of the extracts obtained from both protocols. The extracts were determined to inhibit hCAI, hCAII, AChE, and BChE enzymes. The content of 53 different phytochemical components of the extracts was analyzed by liquid chromatography with tandem mass spectrometry (LC–MS/MS). Rosmarinic acid, quinic acid, and caffeic acid were found in the highest concentration. The comprehensive LC–MS/MS analysis of S. hispanica extracts revealed a diverse array of phytochemical compounds, highlighting its potential for therapeutic applications. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Introduction: Probiotics, one of functional feed additives (FFAs), have emerged as a potential supplement to strengthen fish health and mitigate oxidative stress. The main focus of our research was to explore the benefits of probiotics (protexin) on growth, digestibility, antioxidant enzyme activity, and blood indices of Cirrhinus mrigala fingerlings. Methods: A total of 105 fish (7.42 ± 0.02 g/fish) were used in a 90-day feeding trial. Fish were fed two times a day, and diets were tested in triplicate tanks (15 fingerlings per tank). Moringa oleifera seed meal was chosen as a basal feed ingredient. Seven test diets were formulated: One was control (without supplement), and six diets had different concentrations of probiotics, such as 0.5, 1, 1.5, 2, 2.5, and 3 g kg-1. Results: The results of growth and nutrient absorption were maximum at a probiotic concentration of 2 g kg-1. The optimal serum antioxidant enzyme activity and blood parameters were likewise obtained at a probiotic dose of 2 g kg-1. Conclusions: Supplementing C. mrigala with 2 g kg-1 probiotics substantially improved their growth, nutrient digestibility, antioxidant enzyme activity, and hematological indices (p < 0.05). A reliable and high-rate cathode is needed to study rechargeable zinc-ion batteries (ZIBs). Spinel ZnMn2O4 (ZMO) has special benefits that make it an attractive cathode material for ZIBs, including high availability, cheap cost, and environmental friendliness. However, because of its poor electronic conductivity and significant volume change throughout the charge/discharge process, it significantly limits both rate capability and lifespan. In this article, high-performance cathodes for rechargeable ZIBs are made using a new conductive polymer that is composed of ZMO and polypyrrole (ZMOP). The ZMOP cathode performs as predicted, with a huge specific capacity (213 mA h−1 at 0.1 Ag−1), good rate capability (119 mAhg−1 at 2 Ag−1), and exceptional durability over time (93% retention and 99.4% columbic efficiency after 2000 cycles). Additionally, quasi-solid-state ZIBs are created using an energy density (206 W h kg−1), and power density (0.18 kW kg−1). [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
